Sotskers! We've got an extra special, extra long sode for ya! We're taking you back to a faraway time when we weren't quarantined and only weirdos and industrial goth fans wore masks. That's right, we're covering the best films of 2019 (cause 2020 hasn't given us a ton to talk about). Out good friend Daine is back as well as a new Guest Sot, Fred Scott!

THE SOTS SPEAK! That's right Sotskers, the time has come! It's been 9 films in the making, spanning five decades, STAR WARS Episode IX Rise of Skywalker has arrived and man are the fans . . . predictable. But just because half the fans say it "ruined the franchise" while the other half say it "was a fitting end to the legacy" doesn't mean either side is right! We bring back our favorite opinionated guest Joshua Redwine and introduce our newest and, dareisay, most optimistic guest yet, Luke Hadenfeldt! Hype or flop, lightside or darkside, nuanced storytelling or hamfisted nonsense?

 Sots! We're back! We know you've missed us and, believe us, we've missed you too. After a hiatus caused by lots of real life hitting us right in the face, we've returned at the perfect time. Oscar Season! And we brought a special guest along for the ride. Ben, Aaron, Doug and special guest Mike Palmer give you their picks for the 2020 Academy Awards. The winners, the should-be winners and the unforgivable snubs. Get your booze and your ballots ready for the 2020 Sotscars Party!

Happy Halloween Sotskers! We've got our first annual tradition as we welcome back horror movie fanatic and craft beer expert Daine Patton of the Fridge Guys podcast (https://threebeerslater.com/category/podcasts/fridge-guys/) to talk Halloween movies. In movie news; the latest and last "Rise of Skywalker" trailer has been released, Terminator Dark Fate is getting great early reviews, and the updated Sonic the Hedgehog design may have been leaked (https://metro.co.uk/2019/10/15/new-sonic-hedgehog-movie-design-leaks-show-major-improvement-10920417/) ((after further research this seems to be a fan creation but we can still hope))

Sotskers, Joker had a hell of an opening and while not all the Sots Watched (get it?) one third of us did. Doug gives us his thoughts on the film, we breakdown the public and media response, and we have a brief discussion about why we think the Joker is the most beloved comic book villain around.

Sotskers due to schedule constraints we are releasing a brief movie news update and then we will release our next full length episode NEXT Thursday (10/10). Big news from Sony and Disney, a new film announcement from Imax and Kanye, plus a little news on the new Robert Pattinson Batman film.

Life can't be all rainbows and giggles and Happily Ever Afters. No. Sotskers, sometimes things end a little sad. This time around we have a little discussion about movies with sad endings. Favorites, most memorables, we speculate on whether or not these stories could have effectively ended any other way. Aaron announces his Borderlands 3 character choice six days too late AND in #AaronHasntSeen he tackles the early 80's comedy "Night Shift."

Sotskers! A long time ago in a basement, not so far away, we invited one of our favorite nerds to talk about movies. This week he's back! Josh Redwine joins us to make predictions about the upcoming and much anticipated(?) Star Wars saga finale, "Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker." 

Sotskers, what a week. We're addressing the topic of Wolverine. Why is he our favorite X-Men character, and many people's favorite Marvel character? Can you make a good X-Men movie without him? In Movie News we got some crazy breakup drama with former baes Disney and Sony. Some cartoon news has one Sotsker very excited, and some sequel news has us all going, "Huh?" Plus, in #AaronHasntSeen we see if Aaron has seen the Horror movie, SO ICONIC, that we dare not mention it's name here! You'll just have to listen!

Sotskers it was a slow week in movie news which means we ACTUALLY had time to discuss a topic. This time around we are choosing some of our favorite video game franchises to give the old Silver Screen spritz. We cast and discuss movies and miniseries based on our favorite video games ranging from the only mildly old to the VERY OLD.  Sotskers, on a serious note, we need your help! We are running DANGEROUSLY low on #AaronHasntSeen suggestions! We've only scratched the surface of the movies Aaron Hasn't Seen and we cannot let this noble experiment die so soon. The unkillable Broadway sensation "CATS," is soon to be the unkillable focus of your nightmares, in the CGI silver screen recreation no one was asking for. Marvel made big BIG announcements at San Diego Comic Con, including it's phase four lineup, AND some very exciting casting announcements. The Sots go over the new "Picard," trailer, and in #AaronHasntSeen we subject Aaron to the intro to the two season SENSATION "Zoobilee Zoo." Are Magic AND Wonder waiting for him? You have to listen to know!

Look Sotskers, we're gonna level with you, we got distracted and missed our topic of choice again. BUT IT'S NOT OUR FAULT! Blame Disney! They own everything, and pretty much all the most interesting movie news belongs to them right now anyway so we breakdown the first trailer for live action Mulan, talk about the outrage(?) over the casting for live action "Little Mermaid," Solo 2 has been greenlit for some reason, EVEN #AaronHasntSeen is Disney's "classic," "Blank Check." Also, Ben eats Tacos alone.

Sotskers, it's Summer and with only maybe one or two exceptions, films are underwhelming critics, under-exciting audiences, and underperforming at the box office? What we wanna know is WHY!?! Also, the latest in our ongoing coverage of "Monster Hunter Watch 2019/2020!" And this sode, #AaronHasntSeen a classic bit of cinema, "The Music Man!"

Sotskers it has been a couple weeks let me tell you! One Sot has become a daddy, granted he was already well on his way before our last episode, but finally and at long last Doug has reproduced and we couldn't be happier for him. Unfortunately that does mean that we were not able to record a new episode. FORTUNATELY pregnancy is the type of thing you can plan for, or so I've told my parents, and we had a BACKUP EPISODE recorded for just this eventuality. We're responding to the Oscars and how it went versus the predictions we had made. It should be noted that the "news" we discuss is dated at this point but was left in the episode because I felt like some valid points were made. Also in #AaronHasntSeen we challenge Aaron with the action hit "The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift."

Soooooooooo . . . we had a topic . . . but Sotskers there was just SO MUCH NEWS! We discuss the newest Endgame and Toy Story 4 trailers. We touch on the upcoming Mortal Kombat game. However, the BIG NEWS is Disney reinstating James Gunn as director on Guardians of the Galaxy III! ***SPOILERS AHEAD*** Sotskers! This, our 4th Super Special Spoiler Sode, and it may be the superest, specialest, spoileriest, sode to date! We've waited patiently and finally we've been rewarded with the release of "Captain Marvel!" We three Sots will be recapping the major plot points, offering our evaluations of the film, and surmising the good Captain's place in the MCU at large.  Did the internet trolls win? Or did this movie go higher? Further? Faster? Listen in to find out! . . . also no, trolls don't win. They're terrible.

Salutations Sotskers, in this sode the Sots speculate sequels! We talk about that which might be, that which probably shall not be, and that which must NEVER be! Sotskers, it's the Sotscars! We give our picks for who should win and who will win. Will we be right!? Will we be wrong!? Will . . . Smith looks fucking terrible in Aladdin.  Also, #AaronHasntSeen breaks new ground with the movie "Birdman."

Well Sotskers, the big game has come and gone and man was it . . .  But MORE IMPORTANTLY there were several interesting trailers in and amongst the steaming pile of mediocrity that was Superbowl LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, and we're gonna talk about what these trailers taught us about the upcoming projects, and life in general. Avengers!? Scary Stories?! Marvel!? Aaron?! Hasn't!? Seen?!

***SPOILER ALERT*** The Sots have finished Red Dead Redemption 2 and we're ready to break it down. With a story that rivals the great western novels and films there's a lot to process here so join us as we discuss gameplay, story themes, the flaws and the resounding successes of this instant classic.  We also have the very first #AaronHasntSeen challenge, in which Aaron takes his best stab at summarizing the plot of a movie he's never seen. Happy Holidays Sotskers, we have reached the final episode of the season, and it being the Holiday season we decided to dedicate this episode to Christmas movies. Which are naughty? Which are nice? We three Sots are big fans of Bo Burnham so we were very excited to go and see his directorial and screenwriting debut, Eighth Grade. We talk through the film and decide why we think it's (spoiler alert) an instant classic.
