SAVI Basketball Membership 7-day free trial: https://www.skool.com/savi-coach Late in the season, most coaches try to fix too many things at once. In this episode, Mark and Tyler break down a simpler, higher-leverage approach: identify your best action, identify the coverage hurting you most, and decide — do you prevent it or punish it? You'll also learn why coaches revert to the same tools under pressure, how to build offensive vocabulary that actually transfers to games, and how the Hedgehog vs. Fox framework can sharpen your late-season game planning. Whether you're a high school, youth, or college coach, these are ideas you can take into practice this week.
Hedgehog numbers are falling sharply across Europe, with dramatic declines recorded in recent decades and now a new Irish initiative is aiming to turn that around. Four researchers and hedgehog advocates have come together to launch Hedgehog Conservation Ireland, encouraging communities to take simple steps to help protect one of our most loved garden visitors. For more on this, Elaine O'Riordan from Hedgehog Rescue and the University of Galway School of Natural Sciences, joined Alan Morrissey on Friday's Morning Focus. 2026-02-14 | UPDATES #131 | The Hedgehog 2025 NATO military exercises ended in a “drone massacre”, courtesy of elite Ukrainian forces. This is what we've been saying on the channel for the last year and is corroborated by many of the guests with military experience that we have interviewed. It's an object lesson for NATO — the wakeup call this hubristic and sclerotic organisation needs. And it's better this lesson is learned by conducting exercises with allies, the Ukrainians, than in a direct confrontation with elite Russia drone units like Rubicon in a hostile war situation. We are not ready for the next war, and now NATO has the most compelling evidence of this fact. ----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.gofundme.com/f/scaling-up-campaign-to-fight-authoritarian-disinformation----------A REQUEST FOR HELP!I'm heading back to Kyiv this week, to film, do research and conduct interviews. The logistics and need for equipment and clothing are a little higher than for my previous trips. It will be cold, and may be dark also. If you can, please assist to ensure I can make this trip a success. My commitment to the audience of the channel, will be to bring back compelling interviews conducted in Ukraine, and to use the experience to improve the quality of the channel, it's insights and impact. We're going to Kyiv in January 2026 to film on the ground, and will record interviews with some huge guests. We'll be creating opportunities for new interviews, and to connect you with the reality of a European city under escalating winter attack, from an imperialist, genocidal power. Most AI infrastructure today is hitting a breaking point. Marc Austin, CEO of Hedgehog, reveals how open source networking and cloud-native solutions are revolutionizing how enterprises build and operate AI at scale. This episode addresses issues many building AI infrastructure today are facing — expensive proprietary systems, overwhelming complex network configurations, and ways to make on-prem AI infrastructure feel just like the public cloud. We discuss how networking is the hidden bottleneck in scaling GPU clusters and the surprising physics and hardware innovations enabling higher throughput. Marc shares the journey of building Hedgehog, an open source, cloud-native platform designed for AI workloads that bridges the gap between complex hardware and seamless, user-friendly cloud experiences. Marc explains how Hedgehog's software abstracts and automates the networking complexity, making AI infrastructure accessible to enterprises without dedicated networking teams. We break down the future of AI networks, from multi-cloud and hybrid environments to the rise of Neo Clouds and the open source movement transforming enterprise AI infrastructure. If you're a CTO, data scientist, or AI innovator, understanding these network innovations can be your moat. Hare brains. Hedgehog testicles. Mouse skin. Live pigeons. Tudor remedies are famous for sounding grotesque, and ridiculous. But were they really nonsense? In this second part of A Beginner's Guide to Tudor Medicine, we explore the strangest cures of the sixteenth century, and uncover the surprising truth: some of them actually worked. You'll learn: – Why remedies were designed to move “imbalances” through the body – Which Tudor treatments are still used today – How honey, wine, moss, leeches, and maggots became modern medicine – The extraordinary 9th century eye remedy that kills MRSA Tudor healers did not have microscopes or germ theory. This episode challenges the hustle-first mindset and shows why strategy, planning, and leverage matter more than raw speed.

This is Season 3, Episode 8 of The RUN TMC Podcast. In Episode 8, The Run TMC podcast brings you an interview with Coach Bryan Rooney of Cal State East Bay. We discuss building programs, recruiting, player development, and the importance of being ‘transformational' rather than ‘transactional.' Coach Rooney shares practical coaching strategies — from pregame prep and timeout management to tracking rebounding and transition metrics — plus insights on connecting with players off the court. Throughout the episode he emphasizes role clarity, habit-based development, measurable practice metrics (rebounding, paint touches, corner touches), and the importance of building program culture and personal connections off the court. Rooney closes with revealing the team's ‘hedgehog' philosophy. This week, Scott sat down with his Lawfare colleagues Benjamin Wittes and Natalie Orpett, and Professor of Law at Cardozo Law School Rebecca Ingber, to talk through the week's big national security news, including:“Uninvited Aerial Vehicles.” The Polish government is claiming that nineteen armed Russian UAVs penetrated its airspace last night. While Russians are suggesting no attack was intended, Poland has invoked Article IV of the NATO Treaty and worked with allied NATO aircraft to shoot the drones down. What might be happening here? And does it mean we're on our way to World War III as some are suggesting?“Bibi is a Killer Negotiator. No, Wait—Switch That.” Within days of the Trump administration tabling another ceasefire proposal—and, by some accounts, making progress in pressuring Hamas to accept it—Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu authorized a set of missile strikes that killed the leaders of Hamas's political wing in nearby Qatar. It's the first such move in a Gulf country, many of which have moved towards normalization with Israel through the Trump-backed Abraham Accords. What explains Israel's actions? And what do they portend for the conflict in Gaza and the region as a whole?“Cruise Control.” A week has passed since the Trump administration took the controversial step of targeting a boat alleged to be smuggling narcotics at the direction of the Venezuelan criminal organization Tren de Aragua with lethal force. The Trump administration hasn't repeated the move, but it's said it intends to. And U.S. military assets—including strategic assets whose use in a counter-narcotics military campaign is far from clear—have continued to build up in the region, leading some to believe that a broader campaign against Venezuela itself may yet be in the offing. How likely is a broader campaign? And could its implications be, legally and politically? In Object Lessons, Ben is cheering on a cadre of former FBI agents suing Kash Patel over their firings, and in the process, sings the praises of an accidental hero—the “Drizz.” Natalie, meanwhile, gets très littéraire with “The Elegance of the Hedgehog,” by Muriel Barbery—a book so French that almost nothing happens. Scott rang in his 8th wedding anniversary the traditional way: getting drunk in the basement and falling in love all over again—with The Paper. And Bec wonders just how much coin it's going to take to change the Department of Defense to the Department of War.To receive ad-free podcasts, become a Lawfare Material Supporter at www.patreon.com/lawfare.
