In which we discover we have way too much in common with...a dinosaur. What we learned about Stegosaurus: o The distance between Stegosaurus and T. Rex is much greater than the distance between T. Rex and us. (80+ million years vs. 66 million years.) o We're not sure what the back plates were for. Possibly to be cool; possibly just to look cool. o Stegosaurus ate rocks to help digest those prehistoric fern salads. o It's Colorado's official state fossil. You can even get Stegosaurus vanity plates, but you have to register a vehicle there. So...goals. o In The Far Side, Gary Larson named the spiked tail the thagomizer ("after the late Thag Simmons"). It is now the standard anatomical term. What we learned about "Desperado": o It's not The Eagles. It's just Eagles. o While considered one of their greatest hits (it's even on Their Greatest Hits), it was never a single and therefore not a hit. o Don Henley didn't like his vocals but wasn't given a chance to redo them. o The song plays a central role on Seinfeld (Season 8, Episode 7). Cold-blooded reptilians: o M. Spaff Sumsion: Lyrics o Robert Lund: All vocals, all instruments, all production, all everything else Oh and hey: Check out the music video (YouTube link below). It's our first one in years and represents Spaff's first attempt to harness AI. (To be clear: The lyrics are 100% human. The music and vocals are 100% human. But the images in the video are 100% AI (albeit with five tons of coaching from Spaff).)

It's May, which means it's time for the AIPT Movies podcast's “Mayhem” series! Where we cover movies that kick ass in the literal sense! In this week's episode, Alex, Tim, and guest Tony Sedani discuss John Woo's 1997 maximalist action-drama classic, Face/Off! Healing lasers! A face floating in medical grade goo! An evil-looking mustache! Troubling goth makeup! Danny Masterson getting beat up for being a creep! A heart attack-inducing evil stare! Chekhov's butterfly knife! Snazzy suits and golden guns! Reused props from the 1993 Super Mario Bros. movie! Castor Troy's box of fun! Child endangerment! Awkward use of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow!" Efficient establishment of a bitter rivalry! Lengthy explanations of illogical pseudo science! Copious melodrama! Possibly the least subtle use of mirrors you've ever seen! Random sci-fi elements! Highly quotable lines! Bold parenting strategies! Hand waterfalls!  Multiple amazing action set-pieces including an opening sequence that lesser movies would save for the finale! Environmental destruction, explosions, stunts, and sparks for days! Legendary filmmaker John Woo let loose with a big Hollywood budget, delivering a dose of pure cinematic adrenaline, that despite its somewhat silly reputation is a masterclass in action filmmaking! All that plus Nicolas Cage and John Travolta perfectly matching each other's crazy in the best body swap movie ever made! Come for the overacting, stay for the over-the-top action! In addition, the gang shares their spoiler-free thoughts on Mortal Kombat II with Karl Urban, The Punisher: One Last Kill, Robert Rodriguez's Once Upon a Time In Mexico, Hokum, Ben Affleck's Live by Night, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Paul W. In this week's episode, Alex, Tim, and guest Tony Sedani discuss Robert Rodriguez's shockingly accurate depiction of life as a traveling musician, 1995's Desperado! One of the best "walking away from an explosion" shots in movie history! An incredible opening scene! Action yoga! A 90s cell phone! A sudden ponytail! Family drama! An unfortunate case of mistaken identity! Mismatched shoes! Lots of slow motion! Tons of squibs and environmental destruction! Surprisingly loyal bandmates! Guitar case Miniguns! The biggest hand cannon you've ever seen! Shadow-based mystical powers and guns that appear from nowhere! Music from Los Lobos! A shocking explanation for disgusting public toilets! A cast that includes Quentin Tarantino playing a creep, Cheech Marin, Steve Buscemi, Danny Trejo dialing a phone with a knife, the original El Mariachi Carlos Gallardo, Salma Hayek causing car accidents, and Antonio Banderas being effortlessly cool! All this and more in a classic action movie with kinetic direction and visual storytelling from Robert Rodriguez that tells the story of an artist who must learn to work his magic in a completely different medium: death! In addition, Tony shares his spoiler-free thoughts on Spider-Man: Homecoming, Brian De Palma's Phantom of the Paradise, 2021's Mortal Kombat, and Robert Rodriguez's El Mariachi, while Alex does the same for the documentary Everyone Is Lying to You for Money, the Netflix survival thriller Apex, Bob Odenkirk's Normal, and Over Your Dead Body! We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions. [School of Movies 2026] Here we begin a Director Season on the films of Robert Rodriguez. This first show is kind of a roller coaster as we get to know his style, what makes Robert tick, and we chart his progress from absolute indie obscurity, making a film for almost nothing and garnering recognition on the festival circuit, charting that up through his awkward TV movie pitstop, until he hit actual popularity with genuine audiences with a sequel that is also a remake, and just happens to star Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek at the peak of their sizzling onscreen sexiness. After this came his collaboration with Quentin Tarantino, Four Rooms, From Dusk till Dawn and then the neo teen-Horror wave of the late 90s with The Faculty (coming next week). After this he began his slew of Spy Kids films, which appealed to a completely different audience. But we conclude with the third and final part of what became his "Mexico Trilogy", when Robert charged in on the wave of new film tech, both shooting and editing digitally. His career would change irrevocably at this point. 1. El Mariachi (1992) + Road Racers (1994) 2. Desperado (1995) 3. Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003)

Today on your favorite daily comedy show, we learned two very important things:Moon Valjean now owns a bowling alley. The Internet is not okay.Yes, it's official — Moon is part-owner of Pin-Up Bowl in The Loop, and somehow he manifested it by yelling “WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? I AM!” for years. We break down how it happened, what changes are coming, why Pete Weber needs his own velvet lane, and how Rafe is absolutely going to live behind the pin machines like a raccoon with a wrench. But because this is The Rizzuto Show, we can't just celebrate something normal.Nope.We pivot into the Epstein files being searchable by name (which obviously led to everyone panic-Googling themselves), Pokémon Go having a PokéStop on Epstein Island (yes, really), and the horrifying realization that your smart home cameras are probably recording way more than you think. Nothing says “fun morning radio” like existential surveillance dread. In between all that, we debate whether Timothée Chalamet is too confident (spoiler: he's just French and talented), Nickelback potentially collabing with Don Broco, The Black Keys adjusting their tour expectations, and Don Henley refusing to listen to “Desperado” because even legends wake up at 3AM thinking, “I could've done that vocal better.”We also reveal our comfort TV shows (Seinfeld, The Office, Ancient Aliens, and apparently Game of Thrones for “relaxation”), revisit a VERY special episode of Mr. Belvedere that absolutely did not age gently, and nearly get FCC'd by an enthusiastic mashup of Wagon Wheel and Boyz-N-the-Hood.It's bowling. It's conspiracy spirals. It's corporate rock fan analysis. It's PJ Sparks turning 57.It's your favorite daily comedy show doing what it does best — turning local headlines, celebrity chaos, and accidental audio risks into 2+ hours of beautifully structured nonsense. If you came for polished professionalism… we have 73 bowling balls instead. And we'll see you at the Pete Weber lane.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this episodem we explore the remarkable journey of Bernie Leadon, the multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose artistry helped define The Eagles' early sound. Often called the unsung hero of The Eagles, Bernie's contributions — from intricate guitar and banjo work to his soaring harmonies — helped shape a sound that has resonated for decades. From his early exposure to bluegrass and folk music in Minneapolis to his groundbreaking work in the West Coast country-rock scene, Bernie Leadon has remained a quiet but powerful force in American music. In this episode, we follow Bernie's path before, during, and after The Eagles, all the way to his most recent solo album, where he revisits the roots that first inspired him.Bernard Leadon III was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, into a family that encouraged both creativity and education. While his father worked as an aeronautical engineer and his mother was a teacher, it was the sounds of bluegrass, folk, and country that truly captured young Bernie's imagination.By his teenage years, Bernie had mastered guitar, banjo, mandolin, and dobro, instruments that would become central to his career. After moving to San Diego, he immersed himself in the local music scene, connecting with influential figures like Chris Hillman and Gram Parsons, who would later become pivotal in the country-rock movement. Before joining The Eagles, Bernie Leadon played in several key bands that helped define the emerging country-rock genre. He worked with Hearts & Flowers, Dillard & Clark, and most famously, The Flying Burrito Brothers. During this period, Bernie became known as a musician who could add texture and authenticity to any song. His instrumental versatility and collaborative spirit made him highly sought after, setting the stage for his next big move.In 1971, Bernie Leadon joined Glenn Frey, Don Henley, and Randy Meisner to form The Eagles. His influence was immediate. On the band's debut album, Eagles (1972), Bernie's mastery of the banjo, guitar, and mandolin was showcased on hits like Take It Easy and Peaceful Easy Feeling. His harmonies and songwriting contributions, including Train Leaves Here This Morning and Bitter Creek, helped define the band's distinctive country-rock sound.Bernie continued to shape The Eagles' music on Desperado (1973), On the Border (1974), and One of These Nights (1975). However, as the band gravitated toward a rock-oriented direction with the addition of Don Felder and later Joe Walsh, Bernie felt increasingly disconnected from the evolving sound. In 1975, after years of touring and creative differences, Bernie famously left the band, marking the end of an era for both him and The Eagles.Following his departure, Bernie Leadon remained highly active in the music industry. He became a respected session musician, contributing to recordings by Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Stephen Stills, Randy Newman, and many others. In 1977, he released his first solo album, Natural Progressions, blending his bluegrass roots with rock and folk influences.Over the decades, Bernie continued to perform, collaborate, and record — he returned to The Eagles' “History of the Eagles” tour in 2013.Today, Bernie Leadon has returned with a reflective new solo album called "Too Late to be Cool" showcasing the depth and authenticity that have characterised his entire career. In this episode, we talk about Bernie's journey, his thoughts on music, and what it means to create art on his own terms. Bernie's story is a testament to creativity, versatility, and staying true to one's musical voice.Whether you're a lifelong Eagles fan, a lover of country-rock, or someone curious about the musicians behind the music, this episode is packed with insights, stories, and reflections. Bernie Leadon may not always have sought the spotlight, but his impact on American music is undeniable.

When the directors of Pulp Fiction and Desperado joined forces in 1996, nobody expected the chaos that followed. From Dusk Till Dawn is part crime thriller, part vampire splatterfest, and entirely unforgettable. This week, the Born to Watch crew sinks their teeth into the film that turned George Clooney from TV doctor to Hollywood icon.Whitey, Damo and Gow hit the road to El Rey, cocked, loaded, and possibly armed with a "dick gun." The boys dive straight into the movie's outrageous tonal shift: one moment it's a gritty outlaw chase, the next it's a full-blown blood-soaked vampire brawl. Half road movie, half horror comedy, From Dusk Till Dawn remains one of cinema's wildest left-turns – and the lads can't get enough of it.They reminisce about seeing it for the first time, back when nobody knew the twist. Gow remembers sitting in a dark cinema thinking it was just a stylish Tarantino heist until all hell literally broke loose. Damo recalls wearing out the VHS tape twice in a row, and Whitey laughs about taking five unsuspecting mates to see it just to watch their jaws drop. This is movie memory at its finest: the mid-'90s, Empire magazines, no spoilers, no internet, just word-of-mouth madness. The conversation slides quickly from Clooney's charisma to Quentin Tarantino's unnerving performance as Richie Gecko, possibly his best acting turn. Damo describes him as “quiet, creepy and dangerous,” while Gow compares his brotherly chemistry with Clooney to "a bomb about to go off." The trio agree Clooney oozes movie-star presence, Harvey Keitel grounds the chaos, and Juliette Lewis somehow still looks 23 for the next 20 years. And then there's Salma Hayek. The fellas do not hold back on the famous Titty Twister dance scene, the snake, the stumble, the hips, and Tarantino's now-infamous foot fetish. Whitey confesses it's "maybe the sexiest dance in movie history," while Damo says it's proof every song has an inner stripper. The music, the lighting, the moment – pure '90s cinematic magic.Between the beer, blood, and banter, the boys celebrate everything that makes From Dusk Till Dawn such gleeful trash. They quote the immortal "Mexican or domestic?" gag, debate the "ugly snorbs" among the vampire horde, and burst into laughter, recalling Clooney's moral compass, the bad guy with the good heart. There's genuine affection for how the film refuses to play by any rules. In Film School for F-Wits, Whitey goes full academic, calling the film the "ultimate tonal shift" and challenging the others to name a movie that turns harder or faster. Damo nominates a few classics, Gow brings his rugby grand-final energy, and the chat devolves into biscuits, Monte Carlos and Venetians, proof that even when the vampires attack, Born to Watch stays on brand. From the "popcorn popping in the servo" opening to Cheech Marin's triple role and the legendary Titty Twister monologue, the episode is wall-to-wall chaos, nostalgia and laughs. By the time the guys hit The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, it's clear this flick isn't high art, but it's pure fun. A 7.2 on IMDb? The crew say it's worth every drop of blood and beer.So grab a cold one, reload your dick gun, and join Whitey, Damo and Gow as they revisit From Dusk Till Dawn, the movie that proved you never know what's lurking inside the bar until the sun goes down.#BornToWatch #FromDuskTillDawn #GeorgeClooney #QuentinTarantino #RobertRodriguez #SalmaHayek #90sMovies #MoviePodcast #FilmNerds #MovieNight

The Brewers beatdown of Paul Skenes. Pete Alonso became the Mets all-time HR leader! (27:00) The Boston Celtics step transaction is no more. It never was. Let me explain. (33:00) Review: Dangerous Animals. (36:00) NPPOD. (40:45) Michael Porter Jr. shared his thoughts on gambling. And… I don't know. (47:00) Travis Kelce opened up about his past two years. This week we're diving into Desperado (1995), Robert Rodriguez's bullet ballet of blood, guitars, and grit. Antonio Banderas is the slickest mariachi with a mission, Salma Hayek sets the screen on fire, and every shootout feels like a rock concert with a body count. It's tequila-soaked mayhem, slow-mo carnage, and enough style to make your sunglasses sweat. Lock the case. Load the guns. Let's blow the roof off. Did you enjoy the episode?
