I believe that self talk and visualisation are essential. In this show we discuss how you can use self talk and visualisation to work for you instead of against you. In this episode we look at why I created this show. Who the show is for and plans on how I can plan to serve you in future episodes. The reality is motivation does not always work. Motivation operates much like a battery. Your start out super motivated and then you have to deal with other daily issues. Bit by bit your motivation is depleted as you're pulled from one task to another. How do you keep on track? Lets talk about it in this episode and future episodes.
Hard Decisions, Easy Decisions: A podcast about making hard decisions based on logic and rationality. This is not the end, but a new beginning Thank you to all who have taken the time to listen and support me.
Have you ever had a hard time dealing with someone’s expectations? Dealing with expectations isn't easy, especially if the other person is setting them for you. When it comes to expectations and how we deal with them this can be challenging because oftentimes what we expect will never happen.Sometimes we have expectations about something happening, something we don’t want to go right. It takes a while then it just happens! Something we’d rather not then it happens or it backfires on us. How do you deal with these situations?
Intelligence and boldness are two different traits often misunderstood. Sometimes people confuse the two, displaying a lack of intelligent understanding because of their lack of boldness. Perhaps, you may have even noticed, or experienced this in your life. It is a very interesting question to ask; what is the difference between boldness vs intelligence? As we progress through this podcast, I will share my insights with you as to what it means to be bold and intelligent.
What is the dash of life? Through various sources and self-experience, I’ve found that it's what you want your life to be. That sounds vague, but it’s not. It’s actually quite clear—you get to decide what the dash should look like through making choices each day.Contact: media@desherbert.com
The Stigma of LabelsThere was a recent article written by Carole Cadwalladr about the mis-labelling of people/communities. Is it acceptable to call someone who has cancer a 'cancer survivor'? What about someone who has advanced dementia? We continue to hear about words being banned taken out of dictionaries. Or do we just need a new language for a new idea about how we want to describe people, situations and groups of people.People are often labelled by the events that shaped them. But what about labels on teachers and mentors? People who have been awarded life-saving medals? Because Cancer, widow and disability are not who you are anymore. They are just labels, experiences that shape your character and identity but do not define you.The labelling of people seems to be in the news a lot at the moment with an article about breast cancer survivors being referred to as "survivors" and another about people with learning difficulties (or who are perceived to have learning difficulties) being referred to as having a ‘disability’. Labels can be used in many different ways – you could refer to them positively such as describing someone as an ‘expert’ or you could use them negatively.

Every decade or so, there's a scandal about how music has been 'dumbed down' and is 'not what it used to be'. The best way to find out if that's really true is to look at the charts. So let's take a look at the best selling songs of each decade, and see how it measures up.First off, let's just state the obvious. Music has changed a lot over the years. The record industry has changed in terms of how songs are discovered, and the way they are marketed. It's also a lot easier to record a song, so you're going to get more people trying their luck.My question is, What Happened to the Music?Contact: media@desherbert.com

There's a whole industry around weight loss, and yet the struggle to lose weight remains the same. Over 95% of people who lose weight regain it within a few years. Despite spending $60 billion in just weight related costs last year alone, we are no healthier than we were 30 years ago. And so, there HAS to be a better way. You CAN'T be one of these simple minded folks that blames their genetics for all their problems. Your genes are NOT your destiny! Never hasEveryone wants to be skinny- thinner than their friends, and more attractive. The end goal of weight loss is often a smaller size. But what if the end goal isn't about losing weight at all. What if the end goal of weight loss is to live a life that you are happy with?Contact: Media@desherbert.com

Is meditation the key to access the next level of human consciousness? We run most of our days using our subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is a set of program, beliefs, ideas we have picked up from birth and continue to be fed by the information we take in. The only ways to break access the subconscious mind and give it a new set of instructions is when the mind is in a relaxed state. In this weeks podcast I look at how we can make the change as well as share my week of meditation.media@desherbert.com
A Software Update Is Available. Do you want to stay IN your current version of yourself or do you want to update? Old programming (thought and beliefs) have taken us all so far. What if there was more! Well, good news there is. In this weeks episode, we talk about updating your software. We all run daily programs in the background which help us with our day to day task. These are learned behaviours called routines. Current routines are good, however, sometimes it's these very routines which keep us in the past and keep us stuck. To upgrade our lives we need to change routines, habits and behaviours. The previous statement is sometimes met with resistance. Change can be scary because it is the unknown. The unknown is outside of the comfort zone. All growth and change happen outside of the comfort zone. Like anything new, you have done in the past. It can be nerve-wracking at first. We are in the most advanced technological age ever. Knowledge is on tap, however, we are also in an age where we don't have to think anymore. The brain is a muscle and like any muscle needs exercise. As the saying goes "use it or lose it". If you do not continually work your (brain) mind, the thoughts that you are thinking will inevitably go to work on you.

In this game of life that has no rule book, I have tried multitasking and in the past I have tried to accommodate businesses and individuals by saying Yes!
