The Bible was written to be understood and believed. Join us every week as we investigate and discuss what The Bible has to say about age-old spiritual questions and modern cultural issues. Created and hosted by Danny Simmons, Sam Tipton, and Kurt Norbu

The two godly women we will consider today will be Marry and Martha, with a special emphasis on Mary. No one else has a heart for Jesus the way Mary does. She listens to Him, she mourns with Him, and she worships Him in such beautiful ways. Let's see what we can learn from these two women as we watch them with the Savior of the world.

We got a great question this week! How could David take Goliath's head to Jerusalem if he hasn't even captured the city of Jerusalem from the Jebusites yet? Well, here's your answer.

In Mark 2, we will watch four men carry their friend to the only One who can help him. It is on this day that a powerful miracle will be performed by the Son of God to demonstrate His divine authority to forgive the sins of men on earth.

Abigail is an amazing woman that we can read about in 1 Samuel 25. She is made aware of the imminent destruction of her husband and her entire household, and she moves quickly with wisdom, discretion, and grace.

Jesus shows great compassion and care for a man who is condemned to death by the law. He has leprosy and he has lost the life he once knew. Bearing under the weight of great suffering and death, this man in Mark 1 has heard about Jesus and will come to Him, plead, kneel, and say, "If You are willing, You can make me clean."

In Season 9, Danny and Kurt will look at some of the most famous women in Scripture. We'll kick off episode 1 with a study on Eve. The first woman ever created and the mother of all living.

Our lightning Round Question #21 is about dancing. Where does the Bible say that it sinful to dance in public?

As Mark gives us the gospel of Jesus Christ, he wastes no time telling us about the compassion and love that the Lord has for His people. In this short reading, Jesus will heal Peter's mother-in-law, all who are sick and demon possessed, and He will still find time to pray.

In James 3:13 tells us, "Let the wise and understanding show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom." Today, Danny and Kurt will show how Jeus did this perfectly throughout His life. "Good works done in the meekness of wisdom."

Danny and Robert will take a close look at the beginning of Christ's ministry and what Mark chooses to tell us about the Lord as His teaching and preaching begins.

This is the final reading for the book of Galatians. Danny and Kurt want to thank all of you for going through this study with us and we hope that you will share it with other Bible enthusiasts or even use it again for yourself in the future when you have an important question about this inspired letter.

Lightning Round question 20 is about safety for the church when we are gathered together. Do we have Scriptural authority to protect ourselves and if so, what are some good ways to guarantee our safety?

The baptism of Jesus! What an amazing day that must have been. The Son of God, baptized by His prophet who was preparing the way for Him, the Holy Spirit descending upon Him in the form of a dove, and His Father speaking from heaven. Wow!!!

Let's read some beautiful verses in Galatians 6. Paul instructs the saints to help each other out of sin, to make sure and take care of the preacher who is teaching them the truth, and to continue to do good to all without losing heart.

John the Baptist is such an important person in the life of Christ. He prepared the way of the Lord and made His paths straight. Danny and Robert will discuss John the Baptist, the man, his purpose, and his place in human history.

In this episode, Danny and Kurt will look at the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit. They lust against each other and we can never walk in the flesh and in the Spirit at the same time. They are contrary to one another.

Lightning Round Question 19 is a good one! Is it sinful to gamble? Kurt will look to the word of God and apply the godly instruction that is found in His word to answer this question.

We have finished the five major discourses of Jesus in the gospel of Matthew. Now we will step into the gospel of Mark and see the Lord as Mark portrays Him. He is both Savior and Servant in Mark. Thank you for joining us in our study of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again in with a yoke of bandage. For you brethren have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." Galatians 5:1 and 13.

We have concluded the five major discourses of Matthew! In our pursuit of learning more about Jesus, we will turn to the gospel of Mark and look at the special things that he has for us concerning our Lord and Savior. We also have some exciting news about a new hymn!!!

As the fifth and final discourse of Jesus comes to a close, Jesus will tell us what the day of judgment will look like and what we need to know before it comes. We encourage you to be kind and to love the least of these Christ's brethren.

As we move through Galatians 4, the apostle Paul will continue to show the Christians in Galatia, not only that the law won't justify them, but that the law itself shows us that there is bondage under the fleshly ordinances that are found there. He will use Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar to further explain this important truth.

In Lightning Round Question 18, we have an excellent question about helping the people we love who may be sad or depressed. Here are some excellent passages to help you with that.

In today's episode we will read through and study the famous parable of the talents. This parable today, helps us understand what it means to be ready for His return and how we should be doing it.

We have been following the reasoning of the apostle Paul as he begs the Galatian brethren to see the error of their ways and come back to Jesus. In chapter 4, we will see him continue that plea and we will see how much he loves them and how much they love him. There is a lot of godly love in this chapter.

Jesus has been stressing to us the importance of being faithful and being ready for Him when He comes. Today, He will give us the parable of the 10 virgins and why five of them were wise and five of them were foolish.

Today, we will read through the second half of Galatians 3 and watch Paul further develop his argument against the keeping of the law. "The law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith." Galatians 3:24

This Lightning Round Question is a question that is often asked and discussed in many different ways. Today, Kurt will give us a Scriptural answer that will help us whenever this topic arises in daily conversation or when authority is being discussed within the Lord's church.

As we make our way to the end of Matthew 24, Jesus will tell us to watch and be ready! The Son of Man is coming at an hour that we do not expect. When He comes, will He find us being good stewards awaiting His return or will we be caught doing evil things, believing that He is delaying his coming?

As we listen to Paul present this beautiful defense of Christ and His gospel, it will be very important to remember that sometimes a false doctrine can be presented with great confidence and emotion, but that doesn't make it right.

In this episode, Jesus will tell his disciples about the tribulation and the things that will come immediately after the tribulation. Danny and Robert truly want to thank everyone who has been listening to this study about Jesus, as we move through the five major discourses of Jesus in the book of Matthew.

Season 8 is dedicated to the book of Galatians. In this chapter, we will watch the apostle Paul further develop the truth of the gospel as it pertains to salvation by faith in Christ and the erroneous teaching of the Judaizers who came to Galatia from Jerusalem.

In this episode, Jesus will go into greater detail concerning Jerusalem and the abomination of desolation that was prophesied in the book of Daniel. Come study with Danny and Robert and let us strive to understand more about Jesus.

Season 8 is well on its way, so we will start this episode by reading through the first chapter of Galatians. The apostle Paul is amazed that these brethren have turned from the gospel of Christ. Their acceptance of a perverted version has sent him over the edge. Let's listen closely to the mistake they made and do all that we can to avoid this error ourselves.

Danny and Kurt have decided to change things up a bit and simply read through a book of the Bible. Galatians is such a deep and powerful letter and there is no doubt concerning it's eternal nature and message. Paul will warn all of us about the dangers of tampering with the gospel of Christ and tolerating those who insist on doing it. Galatians 1:6 " I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel."

We received a very important and timely question from one of our listeners. Thank you for sending this question to us. The question is, "If God made each of us and God doesn't make mistakes, how do you resolve that my family member/child/sibling/cousin was born female but feels more like a male?"

Here in Matthew 24, Jesus will change His tone and His teaching. Now that He has left the temple, His disciples have gathered to Him and have asked three very important questions. "When will these things be? What will be the sign of Your coming? And what will be the sign of the end of the age?"

Jesus is deity! He is the third Person in the triune Godhead, and we should not think of Him as One who came into existence at His birth. John 1:1-3 makes it plain. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made."

In this episode, Jesus will finish the pronouncement of His eight woes upon the scribes and the Pharisees. They have played the hypocrite, and it is time for the world to know. The chapter concludes with the lament of Jesus, over the city of Jerusalem.

As we continue to read through Matthew 23, we are listening carefully to Jesus as He pronounces eight woes against the scribes and the Pharisees. They are hypocrites, and on this day the Lord will take off their masks and expose them for who they really are. Let's be sure not to make the same mistakes as they did.

In Romans 6:6, Paul says, "Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin." There are many places in the New Testament where this idea of the old man and the new man are illustrated. In each of these we see godly instruction given, so that all Christians will know who they ought to be in Christ.

Though the scribes and the Pharisees were publicly revered by the people, they were privately corrupt. As they proved themselves to be masters of appearance before men, they were turning their backs on God and His will for their own lives.

Proverbs 17 is one of Danny's favorite chapters in the book. In this episode, Danny and Robert will discuss the precious gems of truth that are found in Proverbs 17 and how we can use the wisdom of Solomon to better our own lives and the lives of everyone around us.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have made it to the final discourse of Jesus in the gospel of Matthew. Jesus has told all of Israel the truth about heaven, His Father, and His Father's will for their lives. Now it is time to speak clearly and openly about the Scribes and the Pharisees. This message will push them over the edge, but Jesus will always tell the truth about our condition before God and what we must do about it. We love Him for that.

Today we are blessed to have Buddy Payne returning for another Bible discussion. This time we'll talk about walking in the light and how that can be practically applied in our daily lives.

As Jesus' fourth major discourse comes to a close, Jesus will give us the parable of the unforgiving servant. The point of this parable is to show us that when God forgives us, He fully expects us to be people who forgive. Grace and mercy that is measured by men, is not divine.

Today we have Robert Moore joining us for all that the book of Proverbs has to say about our speech and the use of our tongues. God expects us to be careful with our words and use our tongues to bless those around us. "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one." Colossians 4:6

In these verses, Jesus continues to explain the value of "little ones" in His kingdom. He will tell His disciples how important they are to God and that we should not despise them. Instead of despising them do this, "If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother."

This is a big question today, as it has been since Jesus was born of a virgin. Danny and Kurt will look at the New Testament and discuss what is revealed about the last days, and what we should be doing about it.

This episode marks the beginning of Jesus' fourth major discourse in the gospel of Matthew. This discourse is known as the "Discourse on the Church" and it is kicked off by a question from His disciples. "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"

As we come to the end of the Lord's third major discourse, Jesus teaches the parable of the hidden treasure, the pearl of great price, and the dragnet. Danny and Robert will listen closely to Jesus and discuss the deep truths that are seen here.
