It's vital not to be like Jezebel who worshipped the Canaanite god Baal. Worship of God alone is important.

Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting 40 days and 40 nights, he was hungry, the tempter came to him and said, If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread. Jesus answered, It is written, Man shall not live on bread alone, but only on the word that comes from the mouth of God. Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. If you are the Son of God, he said, throw yourself down, for it is written, He will command the angels concerning you, and as they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike a foot against a stone. Jesus answered him, it is also written, do not put the Lord your God to the test. The devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendour. All this I will give you. He said, If you will bow down and worship me. Jesus said to him, Away with me, Satan, for it is written, Worship the Lord your God and serve him only. There's a lot of talk about the Antichrist. And I've said in a previous recording that maybe it is possible that AI is the Antichrist, maybe, but more than likely it is a living, breathing entity that is using AI as a tool to tell us lies. So here's the thing is, we have to use our free will and our our our powers of intuition that God has given us to determine who is a real prophet and speaking the Word of God and who is a false prophet, who is speaking for those who would want us to turn away from God, those who would want us to serve someone else other than God, those who would want us to bow down and worship them instead of God. Some other things are out there when we look at the level of corporate greed and how everybody has to have the latest greatest thing in when we look at that, when we look at how we crave and how we just keep feeding on and going after the latest, greatest technology and all of these corporate things that show that we are successful. Are we bowing down and worshipping something other than God, our Father and our Creator, the creator that sent us His Son, our brother Jeshua or Jesus? Are we not worshipping an idol? Are we not serving? We're going to say Satan, for the sake of argument, are we not serving all of those things by going down that path and craving all those things? Okay, so let's go another step. Because if you've been following social media, if you're following me on social media, you're probably getting some of the same things that I am getting about those talking about the demise of man, the rapture and all of the end of days stuff. Here it is again. We are going back to worshipping and bowing down to something that was supposed to turn us away from God. Turn us away from the love of God. Pull us away from that warm centre of love that God provides to us. Because, honestly, just me speaking as a human being, how is it that I can stop the end of days from coming? I can't. There's no way as a human being. There is no way for me to stop that. So why be in fear of it? Why be tempted to be afraid of something that there's only one who can create us, who created us, and can do anything about it. We have no control over that. The only thing we have control over is the demise of our souls. Oh, that's right, we do have control over that. So if we follow the word of God, and we follow the love of God, and we are kind to all those who are around us, and we worship God instead of worshipping the corporations, then we have something. We have salvation. We have real happiness. We have all those things that we see in this reading, we turn away from, and we have the real food that is God's Word. We have the real nourishment for the energy of our souls, that is God. We are serving each other. And by serving each other, we are serving our Creator, our father, the one who sent His Son, our brother to us to show us the way we are serving Him. So every time you turn down the latest, greatest cell phone, every time you say, Hey, I'd rather help a human being than make $1 you were serving Him. But wait, it goes further. Not only did you turn away away from from the and turn towards God, you turn away from the godlessness, but you turn towards God. Not only did you just do that, but here's the service part: more than likely, you bent over and you helped a homeless person stand on his feet. You saw somebody who was emotionally distraught, and you helped them find their emotional centre and move forward with their life. You helped someone who is deep set into grief find their way out of it and climb up, up the ladder in the tunnels, back to the brightness of God. You help them realise where the light was, where that warm centre of love was. Because you started living a life of love and stopped living a life of greed, you found the real bread of life, that is, God's love. You stopped testing him. You stopped trying to throw yourself off the balcony so that he would send the angels to come save you. You stop testing him and you start believing. That is part of what was written here. It says, Do not put the Lord your God to the test. If it. Instead of asking God Why don't you give me this or give me that? Start a conversation with God, asking him how you can be of service to Him, how you can help your fellow human beings so that you become the beacon of love that he wants you to be. Then you are serving God, then you are worshipping the ones who deserve our love, who? That's all they asked for, and they give you the universe in return, only God can hand you that real, that real key to the universe. So, did you understand everything that is going on? This shows you the truth. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/faith-love-trust--3493635/support.

What does it look like for you and I to worship God? Is it just the music we sing or a service we go to on Sunday? Or is it something more?In this teaching, Pastor Emily Cummins unpacks truth from God's Word through the book of Psalms and equips us to live a life of true worship, trusting God and bringing all we are to Him.

In this episode, Pastor Cindy talks about what it means to be partakers in the divine nature of God. As children of the King, we are not just invited to share his divine nature, we are commanded to walk in it. It is our mandate. We are called to Worship God and bring His heavenly kingdom to earth. As we walk with Him, we will also be walking with other brothers and sisters who share the mandate. It's a beautiful assignment. Everyone worships something, but can we worship God however we want? Dr. John examines God's specific instructions to Israel about where and how to worship, emphasizing that God—not us—chooses the terms of worship. A challenging message about submitting our preferences to God's design and the importance of corporate worship over individualistic spirituality.Living the Moral Life: A Practical Application for Every Generation: Morality cannot be reduced to a bumper sticker. Neither is it the sum total of our debates, campaigns or banners. Morality is presented by how we live. The book of Deuteronomy is a second presentation of God's Law. It contains three sermons by Moses, as Israel stands on the border of the Promised Land. In this series, Dr. John highlights chapters 12- 17 in which Moses emphasizes living out God's commands for a moral life. Why should we listen? Because living a moral life speaks louder than any bumper sticker.

Revelation 22:6-21 6 And he said to me, “These words are faithful and true”; and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent His angel to show His bond-servants the things which must soon take place. 7 “And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.” 8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things. 9 And he *said to me, “Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brothers the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God!” 10 And he *said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. 11 Let the one who does wrong still do wrong, and the one who is filthy still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous still practice righteousness, and the one who is holy still keep himself holy.” 12 “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to reward each one as his work deserves. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” 14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they will have the right to the tree of life, and may enter the city by the gates. 15 Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral persons, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying. 16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you of these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.” 17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires, take the water of life without cost. 18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book. 20 He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen. EVERYDAY DISCIPLES S1:E6Following the way of Jesus in everything, everywhere, every day."And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” - Mark 1:17Welcome back to the Everyday Disciples podcast, where we discuss what it means to follow the way of Jesus in everything, everywhere, every day. This month, we are talking with Lynsey Kornoelje and Grayson Kessenich about what it means to worship: everywhere in everything. SHOW NOTESWHAT IS WORSHIP?Our English word for worship is derived from the word “worthship,” literally meaning to ascribe worth to something. When we think of it this way, we realize that we all worship something. There are things that we give our time, talent, and treasure to all the time. WHAT IS BIBLICAL WORSHIP?We see early on in Scripture that God makes a covenant with His people, making it clear that we are to have no one we put before Him. And so we ascribe worth, love, awe, wonder, and fear to God and God alone. (Exodus 20)Worship encompasses a full-bodied experience—praise, sacrifice, bowing, shouting, singing, and more. James K.A. Smith, author of You Are What You Love, states, “Worship that restores us is worship that restories us”. Richard Foster encapsulates worship as the “Human response to the divine initiative.” Donald Whitney says, “Worship is focusing on and responding to God.” My attempt to define worship is “a response of awe and love to the revelation of God.” Worship is designed to be biblically formed, God centered, and Gospel shaped. PRACTICES FOR THE MONTHBEGIN WHERE YOU AREAs you go about your day, begin with worship. Pause and thank God for the breath in your lungs. Think through your previous day and call out the moments where you saw God's goodness. Practice praising God.TRY A NEW PRAISE PRACTICEListen to only worship music, keep a praise log of three things a day you can praise God for, try a different posture of praise, and read classic Hymns. WRITE A PSALM OF PRAISEWrite a psalm, a poem, or a testimony of praise.Everyday Disciples is a production of Crossroads Church located in Grass Valley, California.
6 And the angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.”7 “And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me, 9 but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”10 And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. 11 Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. 15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”17 The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.1. Do the final words of Revelation strike you as anti-climactic? 2. Does it build confidence for you that Revelation is scripture that it so closely charts out the history of Christianity in the Roman Empire, before it happened?3. How much of your mindset is ‘receive', and how much is ‘achieve'?4. What are you trying to prove? Do you trust that you can receive that from Jesus, free of cost?5. What are your objects of worship on a moment by moment, day to day basis?6. Do you ever feel like maturity means needing God less? 7. What can you do in your life to grow your longing for Jesus?

Why does God command us to worship Him alone? Whatever we give our focus, time, and adoration to will become what we emulate. Worship is far more than singing in church, it is a lifestyle that transforms us to become more like our Heavenly Father. In this conversation, Sheila Walsh, Nicole Binion, Nicole C, Kalley Heiligenthal, and Blynda Lane explore the power of worshipping an all-powerful God who transforms hearts and changes lives. "Persistent Prayer"Luke 18:1-8Kyle Van DykeJune 1, 2025NEW KIDS SPACE NOW OPEN!We have expanded with 3x more space for the babies, kids, and youth in your family. https://www.instagram.com/oasischurchva/reel/C8FqHIipr3u/How should Christians think about politics? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ak82aD16r04Learn about this year's Kingdom Builder's project: https://www.oasischurch.online/kingdom-buildersOUR NEW VISION STATEMENT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0WFhtL7h3ISERMON NOTES:- Persistent Prayer- Luke 18:1-8 (NIV)- 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NIV)- Romans 12:12 (NIV)- Matthew 7:7 (NIV)- Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)- Colossians 4:2 (NIV)- Verse 1 - The Why- Why do we lose heart in prayer? 1. Prayer is hard work. 2. We are directed away from genuine prayer. 3. We are not always convinced of the reality of the power of prayer.- Verse 2 and 3 - The Characters- The Judge Unjust No fear of God No regard for people- The widow: Powerless Persistent Bold- Verse 4 and 5 - The Appeal- Persistence in prayer reflects faith, not frustration.- “How many times we ask of God and have not because we do not wait long enough at the door? We knock a time or two at the gate of Mercy and as no friendly messenger opens the door, we go our ways. Too many prayers are like boys' runaway knocks—given and then the giver is away before the door can be opened.” (Spurgeon)- Verse 6 and 7 - The Contrast- God: Attentive Powerful Just- Jesus uses the formula of “How Much More”.- Verse 8 - The Warning- Jesus ties persistence in prayer to genuine faith.- When we persist in prayer we become petitioners of righteousness, not merely shoppers of blessings.Oasis Church exists to Worship God, Equip the believers, and Reach the lost.We are led by Pastor Nate Clarke and are located in Henrico north of Richmond, VA.STAY CONNECTEDInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/oasischurchva/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/OasisChurchRVA/Website: https://oasischurch.onlineOasis Church exists to Worship God, Equip the believers, and Reach the lost.We are led by Pastor Nate Clarke and are located in Richmond, VA.Stay Connected:Website: https://oasischurch.online Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oasischurchva/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/OasisChurchRVA/
