Can I lose lose my salvation? This old age question has been answered on several different occasions. Our purpose with uploading this podcast is not too shed new information on the subject, but instead affirm any doubt in the Christian's mind. https://linktr.ee/houseoflight
We have an attitude of hope for the complete redemption of all creation through His second coming. Let us look unto the Savior.
We as the body of Christ are an expectant community. We have joy in our hearts that the Lord has come! The good news is that Jesus has died, rose, and will come again to judge the living and the dead. We now can live out this joy knowing we have a savior. Joy to the world! https://linktr.ee/houseoflight
How do we learn to experience peace in the midst of two realities? How do we live manifesting it, not only to ourselves, but to the rest of creation? The church is a community in the in-between, between what is and what will be. We are a community of waiting, people of hope. We believe that God has brought His kingdom closer in the person of Jesus Christ, but at the same time we live in this world. We are an Escatological community... We live a future in the present.
Chaos. Brokenness. Hope. Three things that don't go together, or do they? This season of Advent has to do with the "waiting and hoping in prayerful expectation for the coming of the Messiah. We as the church look back upon Christ's first coming in celebration while at the same time looking forward in eager anticipation to the coming of Christ's kingdom when he returns for his people."
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden." We are called to be the light. Let us participate in the mission of restoring all of humanity. Grace and peace.
We as the body of Christ preach change, but why then, does our culture remain unchanged? Our neighborhoods remain unchanged? Our cities remain unchanged? How can this be? In order to preach change, we must be changed ourselves! May Christ renew our lives.
It is easy to imagine the Christian life as a list of behaviors that we must keep or avoid, or as a list of virtues that we must develop or vices to avoid; Although these things are certainly part of the Christian life, the gospel points us toward something much greater of which these things are only parts of the puzzle, but not the whole picture.
"We must always pursue what is right and not who is right, and we must never pretend that we are always right." Living in the Spirit produces fruit which comes from a life willing to surrender your life to the Spirit of god. May He be your guide, Him alone.
You've probably heard it said, "I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial." We as Christians might have distorted the actual meaning of the freedom we have in Christ. Here we will discover what true freedom means in Christ. Grace & peace!
Have we owned our faith? Lets talk about it! Hope this blesses you my brother and sister. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all evermore. Amen.-2 CORINTHIANS 13:14
How can we define faith? In chapter 2 of Galatians, faith, justification, and works are three main points that come up in Paul's exhortation to the church and Peter. He gives us a new way of looking how to live in this "new life." Join us as we discover this "new way." We pray it blesses you! Grace & Peace !
What does it mean to live in the truth of the gospel? The gospel Paul speaks of is clear: justification is for all who confidently surrender to Christ. Furthermore, justification implies a life of obedience to God's will and freedom in the Spirit. This is the truth of the gospel. Not the one that enslaves us to performance to be accepted, but the one that frees us to live lives of obedience, of holiness, of measure, of freedom in Christ and his Spirit.
What are some things you are willing to stand up for? Through the book of Galatians, Paul teaches that there are certain "non negotiable's" in life. One being the gospel. How have we've allowed a distorted view of the gospel creep into our churches? How do combat this? All question we will be attempting to answer through the sermon. May it bless you!
Have we believed a false gospel? This is the question we look at as we start a new series in the book of Galatians. May we learn to understand that if Christ is not enough, nothing else will be.
We learn to love the things that are in our hearts, and we end up becoming the things we love. If this is the case, we must learn to love the things that matter instead of our own desires that are corrupt in many different ways. May we embrace the "right things" by embracing the grace of Christ. Let us learn to love God and people beyond anything else in this world.
How could a man that fails be considered a man after God's own heart? In this message we will explore King David's life. Failure comes, God remains. We turn away, God never leaves.
Who is the king in your life? Mike gives a compelling sermon of Saul's life. His life is one more proof of the fundamental problem of humanity: we have usurped the throne of God and become the captains of our own destiny.
How many times have we failed in things that we consider very important and abandoned the effort because of failure? Let's explore Samuel's life and perhaps we can discover that instead of being afraid of failure, we can learn to embrace and celebrate him as part of something more important ... of something God wants to do.
Feeling like a failure in our faith is not foreign to us. Feeling far from God has happened to all of us at least once in our walk with the Lord. Let us embrace the grace of Christ as we dive into the parable of the prodigal son. Let us learn what it means to be truly forgiven, learning to lead a godly, righteous and sober life to the glory of His name. Grace and peace family.
What makes us spiritual people? We all have a practice that makes us feel spiritual, a way to feel closer to God. Sometimes the problem is when we are not close to God, but we keep doing the thing that makes us feel close to God.
The problem at first glance is rarely the problem. It's in fact the problem behind the problem we must deal with. As we learn more of what the Corinthian church was struggling with, I think it's apparent their "problem" relates more to us than you know.
Being first seems to be an important idea of our culture. Thinking about our best interest and forgetting those around can be an easy practice when it seems like everyone is doing it. As we learn why we do the things we do, let us lean into what Christ calls us as to as a people. He must ⬆️ and I must ⬇️.
We have a tendency to choose one thing that becomes the external sign of holiness, purity, or salvation. The problem really isn't with ethics, morals, or the pursuit of holiness. It's more like the arbitrary formula with which we sometimes want to measure our ′′ spirituality," but especially that of others. Many times, this ′′ formula ′′ is based on control.
Have you heard the phrase “what doesn't kill you makes you stronger”? That is only true in very few cases. We've all let a little poison kill. A little pride, a little anger, a little greed, a little lust. And at first we may not even realize how it affects, but eventually we will see the sad results.
