Start Your Transformation Now  In this episode of the Jim Fortin Podcast, Jim explores what it really means to experience freedom and independence—not just in the external world, but within ourselves. Building on his previous discussion about “seniority,” he reveals how true liberation comes from recognizing your spiritual authority, not from wealth, status, or nationality. If you've been seeking more ease in your finances, health, or life path, Jim makes a compelling case that reclaiming your seniority is the missing key.  Diving deeper, Jim challenges cultural narratives around patriotism, belief systems, and identity that often mask as freedom but actually limit us. He unpacks how our upbringing and societal conditioning cause us to give away our power, and why managing your energy and attention is crucial for regaining it. With personal stories—including a raw account of his 39-month house build—and wisdom from his mentor Don Javier, this episode offers both spiritual insight and practical reflection on how to reclaim the independence we all crave.  This episode is your wake-up call to stop seeking freedom externally and start remembering who you already are: a powerful soul with built-in seniority. If you're ready to step into true sovereignty, this is a must-listen.  What You'll Discover in This Episode:  Why We're All Born With Seniority (02:49) You don't have to earn freedom—you came into this life with cosmic power already built in.  How Socialization and Domestication Strip Our Power (05:46) From childhood conditioning to national identity, we unknowingly give away our spiritual authority.  Your Life is the Output of How You Manage Your Energy (09:11) Jim compares your life to a factory—what you create reflects how well you manage your seniority.  A Personal Lesson: When Chaos Hijacked Jim's Power (11:59) Jim shares how his house-building process derailed his energy—and what brought him back on track.  Freedom Begins With Attention, Not Action (15:13) Managing your attention in the 3D world is the gateway to reclaiming inner power.  How Belief Systems and Patriotism Replace Seniority (21:04) Jim explains how societal labels and even religion can brand us, masking our true spiritual freedom.  A Spiritual Person Asks Nothing of No One (26:53) What Don Javier taught Jim about sovereignty, asking Source—not society—for support.  The Hidden Cost of Attachment (29:00) Freedom also means releasing the ego's grip—because what you cling to, controls you.  Discovering Your True Power as Soul (32:00) Jim closes with a powerful invitation: Know yourself as soul, and you'll know true freedom.  Listen, apply, and enjoy!  Transformational Takeaway  Your true independence isn't found in your passport, your bank account, or your job title. It's in your seniority—your deep knowing that you are soul, Source, and creator. When you stop letting beliefs, fears, and attachments define you, you'll remember the truth: you are free because you are. Let go of the need to control, release the illusions of security, and return to the inner sovereignty that was never lost—only forgotten. Freedom isn't out there. It's already within you.  Let's Connect:  Instagram | Facebook | YouTube | LinkedIn  LIKED THE EPISODE?  If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. This week, we reflect on the meaning of freedom—not just as Americans celebrating Independence Day, but as Christians sent into the world. True freedom isn't about doing whatever we want; it's the gift of choosing love, sacrifice, and God's will. In the Gospel, Jesus sends out seventy-two disciples two by two—not alone, but united in mission and reliant on God's grace. Their joy comes not from their own accomplishments but from seeing what God did through them. As we cherish our country's liberty, we're reminded that freedom without virtue can lead us astray. Christian freedom is always “freedom for”—for holiness, justice, and love of neighbor. This episode challenges us to step out of comfort zones and use our freedom to transform the world for Christ.

Each week, I bring you inspiring guests, insights, and tools to empower you to be energized, compress time, and start living instead of existing.   Episode Title:  What Does True Freedom Look Like in a Busy World? Host: Robyn Engelson Guest: Michael Gardon Episode Summary:  In this episode, we sit down with Michael Gardon, a creative strategist, leadership coach, and champion of Time Sovereignty. Michael's story isn't about hustle. It's about waking up, reclaiming your time, and building a life around what truly matters. After years of following the “default path” chasing achievement, checking boxes, and staying busy, Michael realized success without intention is just noise. So, he broke away. Now, he helps others do the same. This conversation is for anyone who feels like they're constantly running, but getting nowhere. Michael invites us to slow down, think deeper, and make powerful, present choices. Because freedom isn't found in doing more. It's found in doing what matters.    You'll learn: Why Michael says being “busy” is the new burnout What it means to stop renting your time and start owning it How to identify the busywork that's draining your energy What Time Sovereignty looks like and how to practice it Why saying “no” can be the most productive thing you do How sharing your story can shift lives, including your own   Memorable Quotes: “Busy is not a badge. It's a boundary issue.” – Michael “The cost of default living is your actual life.” – Michael “You can't own your time until you own your truth.” – Robyn   Actionable Steps for Listeners: Audit Your Time:   Track your time for one day. Where is it going? What could shift? Practice a 10-Minute Rule:   Set a timer. Spend 10 minutes each morning doing only what feels aligned. Say “No” (Just Once):   One small "no" to something draining = one big "yes" to something meaningful. Tell Your Story:   Your journey might be the permission someone else needs. Share it.   Final Thought: You don't need to fill every hour to prove your worth. As Michael reminds us: “Success without self-awareness is just performance. Real success is personal.”    What listeners have to say: “Michael's take on Time Sovereignty changed how I look at my week. Life feels lighter.” – Jenna B., Entrepreneur “Finally, someone talking about success in a way that actually makes sense.” – Omar L., Leadership Trainer “That quote, ‘Busy is a boundary issue,' I wrote it on a sticky note. Needed that.” – Tracey D., C-Suite Leader   These stories remind us:  Failure isn't the end. It's an invitation to evolve.  Success means nothing if you lose yourself in the process.  True connection comes from authenticity, not achievement. Now it's your turn: Where are you spending your time? What would it mean to reclaim it? Tag us, DM us, or share your thoughts. We want to hear your story.   Loved this episode? Send us a textWhat does it truly mean to be transparent? Beyond the clichéd calls for governmental transparency lies a more intimate, challenging question: are we transparent with ourselves? In this deeply personal exploration, we journey through the layers of transparency—from governmental institutions down to our own hearts.Transparency isn't just about transmitting light—it's about allowing that light to shine through without scattering, without distortion. When we wear masks, both literal and figurative, we block our authentic light from reaching others. The journey toward true transparency begins with uncomfortable self-reflection and a willingness to be vulnerable, even when it feels threatening.Through a powerful personal story of family reconciliation, we witness how one courageous moment of vulnerability can create a ripple effect, opening space for others to share their deeply held truths. After decades of believing my family had open communication, one child's brave revelation about their feelings regarding my potential reconciliation with my husband unleashed a cascade of honest sharing that transformed our family dynamic overnight. As Mother Teresa wisely noted, "Honesty and transparency make you vulnerable. Be honest and transparent anyway." This vulnerability—though frightening—is the gateway to authentic connection and healing. By removing our masks layer by layer, we create possibilities for genuine transformation, not just in ourselves but in everyone around us.Whether you're struggling with family relationships, seeking personal growth, or simply tired of wearing masks, this episode offers a compassionate invitation to take that first small step toward transparency. Your courage might just become the catalyst someone else needs to begin their own healing journey. Listen now and discover how being truly seen—first by yourself and then by others—can create the freedom you've been seeking all along.Support the show

A sermon for Proper 7, June 22, 2025. Luke 8:26-39 Jesus and his disciples arrived at the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee. As he stepped out on land, a man of the city who had demons met him. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and he did not live in a house but in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he fell down before him and shouted at the top of his voice, "What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me" -- for Jesus had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. (For many times it had seized him; he was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles, but he would break the bonds and be driven by the demon into the wilds.) Jesus then asked him, "What is your name?" He said, "Legion"; for many demons had entered him. They begged him not to order them to go back into the abyss. Now there on the hillside a large herd of swine was feeding; and the demons begged Jesus to let them enter these. So he gave them permission. Then the demons came out of the man and entered the swine, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned. When the swineherds saw what had happened, they ran off and told it in the city and in the country. Then people came out to see what had happened, and when they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid. Those who had seen it told them how the one who had been possessed by demons had been healed. Then all the people of the surrounding country of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them; for they were seized with great fear. So he got into the boat and returned. The man from whom the demons had gone begged that he might be with him; but Jesus sent him away, saying, "Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you." So he went away, proclaiming throughout the city how much Jesus had done for him.

Think addiction is only about alcohol, drugs, or gambling? Think again. In this powerful video, Kenny Weiss breaks down how our society has normalized addictions—work, fitness, pets, even parenting—and how these seemingly "healthy" obsessions can be signs of falsely empowered codependency. While narcissists are often disconnected from reality and unaware of their dysfunction, falsely empowered codependents look just like narcissists—but there's one major difference: they're aware of the shame and pain underneath. These are the high-achievers—the CEOs, lawyers, influencers—who are silently struggling. This video will help you recognize:✅ The core difference between narcissism and false empowerment✅ Why so many successful people are unknowingly addicted✅ How avoiding intimacy shows up in modern-day "achievements"✅ Why addiction is the coping mechanism of those still chasing love they never receivedThis is emotional mastery at its core.

What if I told you that giving money to good causes won't necessarily change your heart? Many assume that if they invest their finances in the right places, their affections will follow. But what if the real issue isn't where our money goes, but what we treasure most? The Words of Jesus: Treasure and the HeartIn His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus offers one of the most profound insights into money and the human heart:"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:21)Many interpret this to mean that if we direct our money toward good causes, such as ministries or charities, our hearts will naturally follow. And often, generosity does strengthen our connection to what we support. However, if money itself remains our treasure, even generous giving can leave our hearts tied to wealth rather than to God.What if Jesus wasn't just telling us to redirect our money but inviting us to reexamine what we treasure most? The real challenge isn't simply choosing better causes; it's choosing a better treasure. If our hearts cling to money, even when giving it away, we remain captive. But if we treasure God above all, our money will naturally reflect that devotion. The Widow's Offering: A Heart Aligned with GodConsider Jesus' observation of the widow's offering in Mark 12:"And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny." (Mark 12:41–42)The wealthy gave much more than the widow, but their giving didn't free them from money's grip. Their treasure was still rooted in their wealth.Jesus exposes a similar heart issue when He rebukes the Pharisees in Matthew 23:"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness." (Matthew 23:23)The Pharisees gave meticulously, yet their hearts were enslaved to pride and status. Their giving wasn't born from a love for God, but from a desire to maintain religious appearances.True Freedom in Treasuring GodIn contrast, the widow's tiny offering flowed from deep trust and surrender to God. She gave not to be seen, but because her greatest treasure was the One standing before her. Jesus praised her, not for the amount she gave, but because her heart fully belonged to Him.If giving alone could free us from money's hold, the Pharisees would have been the most spiritually free people of their day. But they weren't. True freedom comes not from giving more but from treasuring God most.As Pastor John Piper puts it:“God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.”How Do We Shift Our Hearts? So, if the issue isn't where we put our money but what we treasure, how do we shift our hearts?Recognize God as Your Greatest Treasure - Until God is our highest joy, we will always cling to lesser things.Seek First His Kingdom - When God's Kingdom is our priority, everything else—including money—falls into place.View Money As A Tool, Not A Treasure - If we treasure God, we will steward it wisely without being controlled by it.Store Up Treasures in Heaven - This means prioritizing what truly lasts—growing in Christ, loving others, and living generously. When our treasure is in God, our relationship with money changes. We give not to force our hearts to care, but because our desires are already aligned with what God cares about. We are freed from financial anxiety because our security is in God, not wealth (Matthew 6:25–34).If money is our treasure, our hearts will forever remain enslaved to it, no matter how generously we give. But if we treasure God, our hearts will be free, and our relationship with money will reflect that reality. The real question isn't, “Where is my money going?” but “What do I treasure most?” Because where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.Partner with FaithFiThat's the heart behind everything we do at FaithFi.
