April 25, 2026 - Equipped 2026 - Day 3 - 2:30 PM Session In this fast-paced teaching session (a leadership/preacher track) Allen surveys 15 characters from Genesis that are referenced in the epistles of the New Testament, explaining how each person points to major theological themes and offering practical sermon ideas. The episode situates the study within a broader Bible overview (the 5.12 Old Testament / 4.1.21.1 New Testament schema) and emphasizes selecting 3–4 memorable lessons to personalize and preach. Key characters examined include Adam and Eve (human failure and divine redemption; the first and second Adam contrast in Romans 5 and 1 Corinthians 15); Cain and Abel (faithful worship vs. false religion; anger and violence); Enoch (walking with God and being taken by God; Hebrews 11, Jude); Noah (obedient faith, separation from the world, and baptism typology in 1 Peter 3); Lot (worldliness and maintaining faith amid compromise); Abraham and Sarah (justification by faith and works, patient trust); Isaac (substitutionary sacrifice type); Ishmael (bondage under law vs. freedom in Christ); Jacob and Esau (election, spiritual growth, profane living and misplaced priorities); Joseph (God's providence and forgiveness); and Melchizedek (a priestly type of Christ). The episode also unpacks recurring motifs and teaching tools: types and antitypes in the Old Testament, three levels of law, Satan's three temptation tactics (doubt God's Word, deny God's consequences, substitute worldly promises), practical sermon outlines, and multiple New Testament cross-references (Romans, Hebrews, Galatians, James, 1 Peter, Jude, Acts). The speaker provides concrete preaching points and pastoral applications—how to illustrate each character's lesson, sermon outline suggestions, and pastoral exhortations for personal growth and ministry. Listeners should expect a 40‑minute rapid tour designed to equip preachers and students with sermon ideas, textual hooks, and pastoral takeaways—encouraging them to focus on a few key figures for teaching, to apply typology responsibly, and to learn spiritual lessons ranging from repentance and obedience to providence and forgiveness. Duration 41:00
Today, on Karl and Crew, we wrapped up our weekly theme, “Best of 1 Peter.” Dr. Richard Blackaby joined us to explain how experiencing God begins with hearing His Word, responding in obedience, and building daily habits that lead to spiritual maturity. Dr. Blackaby is the President of Blackaby Ministries International and author of “Experiencing God in Everyday Life: A Journey Toward Spiritual Maturity.” We then had Dr. Andy Bannister join us to explain how believers can be prepared to share the hope of Christ with gentleness and respect, while listening well to those who believe differently. Dr. Bannister is the Director of Solas and the author of several books, including “How to Talk About Jesus Without Looking Like An Idiot.” We then opened up the phone lines to hear from our listeners. We posed the question, "Who did God use to help walk you into freedom in Christ?”You can hear the highlights of today’s program on the Karl and Crew Showcast. Amazing Grace: The Blind Man Who Finally Saw – John 9 In Episode 138 of Divine Table Talk, Jamie and Jane dive into John 9, the powerful story of a man born blind who encounters Jesus and receives his sight. But this miracle is about more than physical healing—it's about spiritual awakening, identity, and what it truly means to see. As the healed man grows in boldness and the religious leaders grow in resistance, this chapter reveals the difference between outward religion and genuine transformation. Together, Jamie and Jane unpack how Jesus meets us in brokenness, how suffering is not wasted, and why sometimes the people who think they see clearly can still miss the heart of God. This conversation is an invitation to let Jesus open your eyes—not just to healing, but to who He truly is. Where might Jesus be inviting me to see differently—about Him, myself, or others? ____________________________________ Connect with Jamie: Website: www.jamieklusacek.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jamieklusacek Connect with Jane: Website: www.janewwilliams.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/janewwilliams

From being sexually abused by family members between the ages of 5 and 12, to a life of extreme promiscuity, prostitution, and over 600 same-sex partners, Carlos spiraled into sex addiction and suicidal despair. After a radical encounter with Jesus through "The Passion of the Christ," years of legalism and failed attempts to change left him empty—until he fully surrendered his life and stopped obsessing over his attractions. What God did next was miraculous. Today Carlos is happily married to a beautiful woman, a proud father of twins (with a third on the way), and living in complete freedom. This isn’t just a testimony—it’s a powerful message about true surrender, identity in Christ, forgiveness, and the renewal of the mind. Watch until the end. In every generation, it falls to believers to spend time in defending our worldview as Christians. And honestly, it's not the nicest part of the gig—but it is part of the gig. Usually, it involves simply explaining what your faith is all about. Followers of other religions do the same thing, but for us, we're sharing the person of Christ with someone who may not know Him. That makes it a big deal.Jude 1:3 says, “Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people.”It's exciting that God has entrusted this to us. It's a privilege. Even if you find yourself in an adversarial conversation—and they're not all adversarial—but if it is, remember the main thing: you get to share your faith, and see someone else find freedom in Christ!Let's pray.Lord, thank you that you allow us to tell others about you. Help us always to be ready to give an answer when asked about our faith. In Jesus' name, amen. Change your shirt, and you can change the world! TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible for May 25th. I'm Speaker A, and today marks day 145 in our journey through the Scriptures. As we gather from around the world, our purpose is not just to read words, but to encounter Jesus—the true source of our life—through these sacred texts. With open hearts, we invite the Holy Spirit to illuminate God's word, allowing us to see Christ more clearly and be warmed together by the fire of God's love. Today's readings include 1 Kings chapters 10 and 11, 2 Chronicles 9, and Romans 6. We'll hear about the wisdom and splendor of Solomon, the visit from the Queen of Sheba, Solomon's eventual turning from God, and the consequences that followed. In Romans, we'll be reminded of our freedom in Christ and the new life we are invited into. Let's dive in and discover what God has for us today. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Now you are free. Did you hear Paul clearly say it? Now you are free from the power of sin. You are free not to sin, but to live in God. You are united to Him. This is not something you need to accomplish for yourself, but something that has already been accomplished for you in Christ. The Spirit of Christ now dwells in you, enabling, empowering, awakening you to who you really are—a new creation, a new person, a free person. No longer slaves to sin, no longer imprisoned by the past or to habits that have held us captive, we are free. Free to live as God has intended for us, to walk in this newness of life that is rooted in Christ's work and joined to Him. Now the journey of discipleship is lived from this truth: that we have already been set free, that the shackles of the old life no longer define us. We are called to exercise our freedom, not to go back to the things that once imprisoned our hearts and lives, but to step forward into what God has declared about us. That is the life of discipleship—it is living in the truth of our union with God, allowing His Spirit to root us and anchor us in this beautiful, finished reality. Today, you are absolutely free. Free to live in Him, free to love, free to forgive, free to be instruments of God's peace and blessing for the world. May you step into your freedom, live out of it, and know that you are loved and cherished by God Himself. That's my prayer for my own heart, for my family, and for each of you. May we walk as God's free and beloved children. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. In 1849, Henry “Box” Brown (a US enslaved man from Virginia) folded himself into a wooden crate marked “dry goods,” and two friends shipped him from Richmond to Philadelphia. Brown was inside the box (3 x 2.5 x 2 feet) for the 26-hour trip, with three small holes cut for air. As abolitionists pulled Brown from the box, he sang a paraphrase of Psalm 40, expressing his hope in the God who promises freedom. “If you have never been deprived of your liberty, as I was,” Brown later wrote, “you cannot realize the power of that hope of freedom, which was to me indeed, an anchor to the soul, both sure and steadfast.” Freedom is central to how God operates in our hearts and in our world. His wisdom leads to spiritual freedom, but false wisdom leads to oppression. “Where the Spirit of the Lord is,” Paul says, “there is freedom” from sin, death, and condemnation (2 Corinthians 3:17). When we listen to God and follow His ways, freedom results. Unfortunately, the opposite is also true: when we ignore Him and resist His invitations, we become ensnared and confined. God liberates and transforms us by His Spirit (v. 18), but sin and rebellion traps us. We sometimes believe that God limits and obstructs our possibilities and pleasure. But in truth, He’s the only one who can lead us into an expansive future, the only one who can guide us into genuine freedom.
What does it really mean to be “fallen away from grace”? In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef clarifies Paul's warning in Galatians 5:4—a passage often misunderstood as teaching that salvation can be lost. Dr. Youssef explains that Paul is addressing believers who are tempted to enslave themselves again to the law—trusting external rules, rituals, or church dogma as though grace needs help to get us to heaven. The Truth is that God's grace saves us, sustains us, and will present us holy and blameless before the Father. “Falling from grace” happens when we stop believing grace is enough and begin living as though it's grace plus something. That “something” may look spiritual—good works, traditions, personal standards—but the moment it becomes a basis for acceptance with God, it turns gratitude into repayment and replaces Gospel freedom with legalism. Dr. Youssef reminds us: if salvation is by works, it is no longer a gift (Romans 6:23). And if we teach “grace plus,” we are denying the exclusive saving name of Jesus (Acts 4:12) and the God-given nature of faith itself (Ephesians 2:8–10). This episode calls you to guard your heart from subtle legalism and return to the all-sufficient grace of Christ—so your confidence rests where it belongs: in Jesus alone. Prayer: Father, give me the wisdom to discern those times when I begin to add to Your Gospel for my salvation and to repent and rest in Your finished work of salvation. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace” (Galatians 5:4). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. The real question isn't "Can a Christian drink?"—it's "What's controlling you?" Summary This message confronts the modern confusion surrounding alcohol, freedom, and spiritual maturity by shifting the focus from permission to mastery. Scripture does not condemn alcohol itself, but it consistently warns against drunkenness, addiction, loss of self-control, and being mastered by anything other than Christ. The deeper issue is dependence—whether believers are looking to substances for escape, peace, identity, or relief instead of the Holy Spirit. Mature Christianity stops asking, "What can I get away with?" and starts asking, "What best reflects Christ and builds others up?" Reflection & Small Group Discussion Questions 1. Why do you think many Christians ask, "How much can I get away with?" instead of "What honors Christ?" 2. How does 1 Corinthians 6:12 help frame the issue of alcohol and personal freedom? 3. Why is the Bible's concern more about mastery and dependence than the substance itself? 4. What is the difference between freedom in Christ and freedom to sin? 5. How does modern intoxication culture differ from the biblical context of wine and celebration? 6. Why is self-control such an important fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23)? 7. How can a believer unintentionally damage their witness or influence weaker believers through their choices? 8. What are some modern "escape mechanisms" people use besides alcohol? 9. Why is the "cool pastor" drinking culture potentially harmful to recovering addicts and struggling believers? 10. What would it look like practically to live "fully alive" without dependence on substances?

In Romans 7:1-6, Paul continues his letter by showing us that freedom in Christ goes even deeper than being dead to sin... we have also been released from the law's grip. Many Christians live as if God's love rises and falls with their spiritual performance, turning faith into a checklist of fear and obligation. But Paul reminds us that through the death of Christ, our old relationship to condemnation is over. We now belong to the risen Jesus, not as people trying to earn love, but as people already held by it. This kind of freedom does not lower the standard; it changes the engine. Instead of serving God through fear, we are invited to live in the newness of the Spirit, bearing fruit from love, belonging, and grace.Connect with us!Missioncity.church
Choose Freedom! God has empowered us to walk in His Spirit. Freedom in Christ is the only way to walk in real righteousness. That righteousness will produce the fruit of God's Spirit within us and toward others. This is Grace empowered living and you are ready for it!
In Galatians 5:1–15, the Apostle Paul reminds believers that Christ has set His people free—not to return to slavery, but to walk in faith, freedom, and love. As false teachers attempted to lead the Galatian churches back under the burden of the law, Paul passionately calls them to stand firm in the gospel of grace and reject any message that adds human effort to salvation. This passage reveals that faith alone in Christ alone produces two things the enemy hates: true freedom in Christ and genuine brotherly love among believers. Paul warns that the Christian life is a spiritual battle where false teaching constantly threatens to distort the gospel and rob believers of the freedom Christ purchased for them. Yet the freedom found in Christ is not freedom to sin—it is freedom to joyfully serve and love one another.

Whom the Son Sets Free: Truth, Identity, and Freedom – John 8:13–59 In Episode 136 of Divine Table Talk, Jamie and Jane unpack the powerful words of Jesus in John 8:13–59, where He confronts spiritual blindness, reveals His identity, and declares the life-changing truth: “Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.” As tension builds between Jesus and the religious leaders, this passage explores what it means to truly know the Father, abide in truth, and experience freedom beyond religion, performance, or bondage to sin. Together, Jamie and Jane discuss how truth isn't just information—it's a person. And when we remain in Jesus, freedom becomes more than a concept—it becomes a transformed way of living. This conversation is an invitation to let go of false identities, hidden chains, and striving, and step fully into the freedom only Christ can give.. What lie or bondage am I still carrying that Jesus is inviting me to surrender to His truth? ____________________________________ Connect with Jamie: Website: www.jamieklusacek.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jamieklusacek Connect with Jane: Website: www.janewwilliams.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/janewwilliams

We often find ourselves feeling guilty and condemning ourselves because of our sin, but Jesus' death on the cross made a way for us to live without guilt and shame. Receiving His gift of eternal life does not mean that we will never sin again, but instead it means that we are forgiven and we can look up with hope instead of down in shame.

In Romans 6:15-23, Paul confronts a question many people wrestle with: if God's grace covers sin, does it really matter how we live? The answer is clear... grace is not a loophole, and freedom in Christ was never meant to become permission to stay enslaved to sin! This passage reminds us that everyone serves something, and what we repeatedly surrender to will shape who we become. Paul invites us to “do the math” and honestly compare the fruit of sin with the gift of God. Sin promises freedom but pays in death, while God gives eternal life through Jesus Christ. In this message, we'll see that real freedom is found not in living for ourselves, but in belonging fully to Him.Connect with us!Missioncity.church
Most believers don’t lose the battle in a big moment. They lose it in the gap. The gap between the temptation… and the decision. The pull… and the agreement. The moment where feelings get louder than conviction. In this episode of The Uncommon Christian, Jon Ellis breaks down what actually happens inside temptation and how to fight back before compromise becomes action. This is not just another conversation about knowing truth — this is about learning how to use truth when the pressure is real. If you’ve ever asked: “Why do I keep going back?” “Why do I keep losing battles I genuinely want to win?” “Why does temptation feel stronger in the moment than it did five minutes earlier?” This episode is for you. You’ll learn: ● Why temptation feels different when you’re inside it ● How agreement happens before behavior ● Why negotiation is where most people lose ● How to interrupt the cycle before compromise takes over Why freedom is built one moment at a time Freedom isn’t a feeling you wait for. It’s a direction you walk in. This is The Uncommon Christian. You weren’t ambushed at the action. You were lost at the agreement. In this episode, Jon Ellis breaks down the “gap” — the moment between temptation and decision — and reveals why most believers lose the battle before the behavior ever happens. Learn how to interrupt negotiation, replace lies with truth, and move before you feel ready. Freedom is chosen. One moment at a time.
This podcast episode captures the passionate and pastoral heart of Paul as he calls believers to live out the true purpose of their freedom in Christ. It balances a strong warning against false teachers and spiritual compromise with a deeply encouraging vision of what Christian freedom means—not self-indulgence, but a transformed life marked by love, service, and unity. Mark and Cindy discuss the inner tension between flesh and Spirit, urging listeners to join them in their determination to walk daily in step with the Spirit to overcome destructive desires and habits. At its core, this message reminds believers that freedom in Christ is not an escape from responsibility, but an invitation into a richer, more purposeful life—one that fulfills God's law through love and reflects His character in every relationship.
In this honest episode of RezRootz, Daniel Esplin joins the conversation to talk about pornography, lust, shame, and finding freedom in Christ. What began as a real brother-to-brother conversation on the road became a deeper discussion about hidden sin, confession, accountability, and identity. Daniel shares how early exposure affected the way he viewed love and relationships, and he points listeners back to the truth that lust and love are not the same. Together, the conversation reminds us that freedom does not come from hiding, pretending, or fighting temptation in our own strength. Freedom begins when we bring the struggle into the light, flee temptation, and believe who we are in Christ. This episode is not about shame. It is about hope, honesty, surrender, and learning to walk as someone made new in Jesus.
A lot of us carry misconceptions about God...that He's disappointed, distant, frustrated, or waiting for us to finally get our act together. But Psalm 139 reveals something radically different. In this message, we unpack the truth that God fully knows you, deeply loves you, constantly stays with you, and isn't asking you to perform for His acceptance. If you've struggled with shame, anxiety, loneliness, self-hatred, or feeling “not enough,” this sermon is for you.Jesus didn't come to expose you. He came to rescue you. And being fully known by God may be the safest place you've ever been.FOR GROUP DISCUSSION & REFLECTION:1. David marvels at being fully known by God, but most of us flinch at the idea. What's one area of your life where being "found out" felt (or would feel) threatening? What would it change if you believed that God already sees it all and His response is a hand of blessing, not a gavel?2. What's a misconception about God you carried for a long time that you didn't realize was wrong until later? How did it shape the way you lived?3. God assigned your value in the womb, before you had a résumé or a track record. Where do you still catch yourself trying to EARN value, whether with God, at work, or in relationships? What would it look like to stop auditioning for a role you've already been given?4. The sermon made a distinction between the voice of the accuser and the voice of God. Which voice do you hear more often and how do you tell the difference?5. David doesn't apologize for his raw honesty in verses 19-22. He actually goes DEEPER in verses 23-24. What would it look like for you to bring the unfiltered, unedited version of yourself to God this week instead of the cleaned-up "church voice" version?+ + + + +Hey, while you're here, please help Generation by clicking the 'Subscribe' button, then click on the BELL
