Carson Crawford and Moriah Johns don't live in the city they are hosting this worship event, they don't work in ministry and they don't live in the same town together, but they both have it on their heart from the Lord to get women together in the heartland of Florida and worship God at Warner University. WOW! These women share their stories of how they came together to host this event and I can't believe it! Only God! This is such encouragement to me today and I pray their words draw you closer to Jesus. Caron shared this verse towards the beginning of this chat: Pilate said, “So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.” John 18:37 (NLT) Moriah talked about Phillipians 4:13 and to trust and remember God's strength. Lord, we trust you and we love your power. I pray we remember just how powerful you are. Link to the podcast with Annie F. “I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” – Psalm 121: 1 NIVWhile most of have to envision a serene mountainous view as we meditate upon this verse from scripture, Chef and Cooking Instructor, Jes Thomas, experiences it everyday living along the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.Born in Queens, New York Jes' surprising journey of serving began when she attended Boston University to study Mass Communication and Advertising. During this season of completing her undergrad Jes met Jesus in a personal way that was far different from her upbringing in church. For the first time, the words she found in the Bible seemed relevant and by reading the Word of God Jes knew she wanted to spend her life sharing the excitement of following Jesus and listening to the Holy Spirit.Upon graduating Jes attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago to complete her master's degree. There she partnered with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship developed a passion for discipling others, especially college students, and also met her husband Dr. Geoge Thomas, MD.After completing his residency program in California, God lead Geoge and Jes to Jellico, Tennessee. Though the Thomas' planned to live in the a small rural community near the Appalachian Mountain Range for only two years God pressed on their hearts to stay, Jeremiah 29:4-7 style.Little did Jes know that God would not only her love for His Word, but also her gifts of preparing food and hospitality to serve others!“It has been so fun to teach through my segments on WBIR – Knoxville's NBC affiliate, the University of Tennessee's Community Cooking classes, Instagram, in-home classes and in event spaces. I have also had a blast working behind the scenes on Food Network's CHOPPED!”Recently, Jes was featured on New York Times Bestselling Author, Annie F. Down's, Annie's Fun List: New and IMPROVED Chai Day Friday.Jes also serves at the National Director of Student Programming at Christian Community Health Fellowship, a community of Christian healthcare professionals who are committed to living out the gospel through healthcare among the poor. CCHF's 2021 Student Conference and Residency Fair is happening soon, July 16-18! Jes is available to help you with any questions you might have about registering. Fear is a weighty word, one we're often more comfortable leaving unnamed. We downplay it as worry, anxiety, or insecurity. It's our personality or preference, we say. Yet to conquer our fear we must first face it, acknowledge the grip it has had on our lives. Listen in, or if you prefer to read, head on over to the blog. Our guest this week is a long time friend and mentor, Andrea Lowe. She is an educator and a certified Enneagram Coach. She has extensive history in teaching and was so fun to interview!! This conversation on the Enneagram does highlight Type 2's (like Andrea) and Type 8's (like me), and is a deeper dive into a few specifics of the Enneagram. For a better take on if you are new to it - head on over to Annie F Down's podcast and listen to her EnneaSummer episodes from 2019 and 2020 - they are full of great information! There are also a few books you can read that I don't mention on this episode, but they are The Road Back to You by Ian Morgan Cron and Suzanne Stabile, and The Path Between Us by Suzanne Stabile. Here are those Andrea follows on Instagram that she mentioned: @rachel.cargle and @loswhit. They've been two of my best follows in 2019/2020. Remember to send me your Enneagram questions on Instagram at @siannargomez. I'm excited to hear what you think and what questions you have!

I'm changing the release schedule this week and airing what would normally be the {wednesday rewind} today instead. On Wednesday, I'll release a new episode that builds on this Enneagram episode. Here are the notes from when this episode originally aired:  To kick off Season 3 of the podcast, I interviewed YourEnneagramCoach, Beth McCord. After following Beth on social media and then listening to her as a guest on Annie F. Down’s “EnneaSummer” podcast series over the summer myself, I knew I wanted to have her on the show. As a teacher for over 15 years, Beth is passionate about coming alongside individuals and helping them re-write their story, allowing them to see that lasting change, meaningful relationships, and a life of deep purpose is possible. This passion is what drove her to create her community, a safe place for individuals to explore the Enneagram. Beth’s passion is to make the Enneagram accessible for everyone, anywhere so they can experience the transformation they long for. In this episode, we answer the basic question — “What is the Enneagram?” Beth characterizes it as a GPS for self-discovery and personal growth and explains how the Enneagram uncovers why you think, feel and behave in particular ways. Throughout the episode we discuss: The origins of the Enneagram How the Enneagram is different from other “personality” tests Why motivation is the key to determining your Enneagram type The importance of not using the Enneagram as a “sword or shield” on yourself or others We go through the Enneagram types, discussing the core Fear, Desire, Weakness and Longing of each Enneagram number. ONE – The Moral Perfectionist TWO – The Supportive Advisor THREE – The Successful Achiever FOUR – The Romantic Individualist FIVE – The Investigative Thinker SIX – The Loyal Guardian SEVEN – The Entertaining Optimist EIGHT – The Protective Challenger NINE – The Peaceful Mediator To close out the show, Beth and I discuss the various ways people can come to discover and/or deepen their understanding of their type, including a discussion on whether or not taking a test is the best approach to identifying your Enneagram number. We also discuss Beth’s new book and program — Becoming Us — a Gospel-centered approach to marriage transformation based on the Enneagram. Listeners of the show can find Beth on social media at Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and her website, yourenneagramcoach.com. I wrap the episode up there with a brief tease of next week’s episode, which will also tap into the power of the Enneagram. Only next week, I’ll be coming at it from a much different angle, talking with a registered dietitian who uses the Enneagram in her practice to help better understand what types of eating patterns and approaches work for individuals based on their Enneagram number. Thank you for listening, subscribing, downloading and most importantly, thank you for sharing with a friend. ~Regan
