What A Weekend! I've just returned from the 97 South Song Sessions, where a group of Rockit clients joined me in Penticton British Columbia for a Rockit Roadtrip! In this episode I talk about the event as well as my biggest take aways from the Song To Stage workshop where we learned from 18x CCMA music publisher of the year and 4x Grammy winning music publisher, Robert Ott. We were also joined by Tim Nichols, who has written hits for artists like Alan Jackson for whom he penned the top hit “That'd Be Alright”, Reba McEntire, Keith Whitley, LeeAnn Womack, Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean. He also penned Dustin Lynch's charttopper, Cowboys and Angels. His #1 hits include JoDee Messina's"Heads Carolina, Tails California", Terri Clark's “Girls Lie Too”,and homage to the aforementioned - “She Had Me At Heads Carolina” for Cole Swindell. Rik Emmet also shared stories and songs at the Storyteller Icon session, which didn't get me feeling too emotional until I recorded this episode and reflected on how beautiful it was and how important it is to share your voice as a singer. In this episode we dig into the importance of sharing your songs with the world, removing psychological blocks as a singer and allowing the joy to flow through you and your music. Why making connections and building a genuine community with great artists and industry professionals is so important. I share why this weekend was so important and impactful to me as a singer and songwriter and talk about the amazing music and stories we heard from Tim Nichols, Wendell Mobley, Jamie O'Neal Paul Brandt and Lee Thomas Miller on the "Spotlight on Nashville" stage. Over on the Discovery stage we heard music from Teigen Gayse Dan Davidson Cole Bradley Sykamore What an incredible weekend it was. Thank you to the entire 97 South Songs team for making it so special. This episode is in no way endorsed by 97 South Songs, I just love the event so much and will continue to share about it until everyone who deserves to know about it, has heard about how great it is!

We had the pleasure of interviewing DWLLRS over Zoom video! The indie-pop California-duo DWLLRS put out an emotional, beautifully written stripped-down new track called “End Of It All.On the track, the duo share: “'End Of It All'” is us not wanting to have any fundamental regrets when everything is said and done. We know what kind of life we want to experience, and this song is us aching to fulfill the hope we have for a life well lived. Things will always get in the way — but those things play into the duality of love, life, and purpose. This song is a step into our future — and a confident nod to life's impermanence.”If you're unfamiliar with DWLLRS, you may know their single “Blue Spirits” - it is currently trending Top 10 on TikTok's US Top Songs chart, with over 100K creates in less than a month. This Ask Thom Anything episode explores ancient cultures, the process of evolution and the possibility of devolution.Thom shares an anecdote about a journey to outback Australia as an envoy for Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to seek the blessing of Aboriginal Elders, where he discovered an unexpected, though not surprising, connection between the ancient people of Australia and those of India. And in answers to two totally separate questions, he explains the evolutionary leap that made us the ‘smartest' species on the planet, though potentially too smart for our own good. It's a salient reminder that we all need to be vigilant with our Vedic Meditation practice and to share the benefits widely if we want the human species to continue to be part of Nature's evolutionary process.Episode Highlights:[00:45] Q - What's the Connection Between Australian Aboriginal and Vedic Culture[01:29] Indigenous People who Possessed Knowledge of Transcending[02:38] "You Want to Talk to the Old Fellas?"[04:28] Making Arrangements to See the Old Fellas[06:17] Clean Sheets and Some Good Tucker[07:32] Remarkable State of Contentedness[09:41] We'd Like to Teach All the Fellas[11:20] It'll Be Alright[13:22] Q - What is the Truth About the Brain's Evolution?[13:44] A - Darwinistic Evolution[16:23] Science Likes One Original Miracle[18:05] Bio-Friendly Universe[20:32] Timing was Perfect for a Consciousness Revolution[21:45] Evolutionary Pressures Caused Pivotal Evolutionary Change[24:30] Q - Can We Evolve Regressively?[25:23] A - Dumbing Down of Consciousness[26:18] Intelligent Enough. Here at Worship Leader we consistently see artists and worship leaders referencing a mentor or a coach that steps in at just the right moment and gives us a piece of advice or drops some scripturally based wisdom on us that changes our lives forever. In this episode of our devotionals podcast, The Walk, artist and songwriter Evan Craft tells a story of his first tour of South America, how it all “fell apart,” but how God used the chaos and the struggle to realign Evan's heart with his true purpose in ministry. James 1:2-4 (ESV) Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. Be encouraged today that you are a part of something much bigger than yourself, and thank God for that as we all fall short of the glory of God. Be encouraged that you are really a soldier in God's great army and his sovereign will reigns supreme. In spite of what challenges may be in front of us, we can trust and know that in the testing we will develop the steadfastness needed to take on each day and fight the good fight. Be willing to be a good soldier that obeys the commands of your King. - - - - - - Please subscribe to our social channels for more information and great content surrounding building a lifestyle of worship. This podcast is brought to you by Authentic Media and Worship Leader Magazine. Our host is Joshua Swanson and the show's co-producer and editor is Matt McCartie. More episodes can be found here. Who is Evan Craft? An artist doesn't have to be born into a community to be embraced by its people. Just ask Evan Craft. Passion, authenticity and anointing are the barrier-breaking qualities that have allowed a non-Hispanic man to become one of the most successful artists in Latin music today. Dove Award-winning artist with over 1.4 BILLION career streams, Evan Craft, recently released "Fight On My Knees" in August 2022 which is already off to a hot start. His 2021 Singles "Be Alright" and "Desesperado" have seen huge success hitting #1 and #14 on Christian Radio, respectively. “Be Alright” is currently nominated for Song Of The Year at the 53rd Annual GMA Dove Awards. Impressive songwriting and vocal skills have catapulted his career from YouTube streams to the top of the charts. In addition to multiple projects, recorded in both Spanish and English, he's committed to making a difference in a hurting world. To date, he's raised more than $250,000 for a homeless mission in LA that he co-founded, called Mi Casa. Craft is building a bridge between two cultures and touching many lives in the process.

Struggling in life is inevitable, but as Christians, we don't have to be miserable when life gets hard. As we continue looking at 1 Peter, we see that we can find joy even in the hard times of life. Pastor Matt shows us that we can seek peace through being humble, compassionate, and by loving one another. We know that suffering is coming, and when we prepare for it and turn the suffering into a witness because Christ has already won, then we can find ultimate joy. What suffering in your life is robbing you of peace and joy? How does your mindset change when viewing that suffering in the light of Jesus' victory over death? What do you need to change that will lead you to joy in the midst of suffering? If you've got questions or want to take the next step in your faith journey, then reach out to day – burnthickory.com/next. We'd love to pray with you and help you find joy in life.

Today on the Spiritual Spiral podcast, I'm excited to welcome musician, producer and composer, Kurt Goebel, to the show. Kurt has studied piano since the age of 6, he majored in piano in college and after being on the road for several years, he moved to Nashville where he's now a full time composer and producer. We begin by talking about Kurt's work flow in the studio, how he prepares for each artist he works with and what it's like writing music in so many various genres. We talk about the shift in the music industry and the impact streaming services have made on the way artist's release music as well as the way consumers listen to music. Kurt shares great stories about what drew him to the piano at a young age and what it felt like playing his first gig at the age of 14. We talk about music production, craft, songwriting and the potential downgrade in the sonic quality of today's pop music. I also end the show by playing a fabulous new song Kurt produced entitled "Be Alright" by singer/songwriter, Anna Graceman. Every year I anticipate recording the season finale of 'Still With You'. Sharing fun, reflective moments surrounding the year's events with a close friend always brings me joy. However, this season is different. With every invite sent I faced obstacles of schedule unavailability and tricky timing. Responses from friends were never unkind, it was simply not what I had expected nor what I wanted. I have held this feeling of want frequently this year and sadly, it has often opaqued my beliefs in who God is. More than I care to admit I have engaged with God as though He was a magical wish granter rather than my loving Holy Heavenly Father who knitted me together. I am learning that He cares about what I want, but is more concerned and underserving kind in giving me what I need.On this 'Still With You' Season 4 Finale I am flying solo, showing up, in trust, to talk about this season's highlights, book of Joshua (yes, again), and what to excitedly expect for next year. ‘Still With You' Season 5 will release Tuesday January 18th, 2022.Many thanks…To every amazing guest who showed up eager to share, our faithful partners in prayer, encouraging friends, and fun sponsors this season, you are a solid team. This creative outlet would not operate if it were not for your kindness and generosity. Every bit of your support, even a single episode download, matters. If only I could sip a cold brew coffee or two with each of you and share my sincere gratitude. Season 4 has been more than my heart ever imagined and I treasure every minute spent with you, my friends.
