Welcome to Rock Your Shine: After you've been cracked wide open. On this show, I sit down with people from all over the world to hear their transformational stories on their deep grief and loss journeys. In this poignant episode, we explore the theme of breaking generational cycles and the journey towards forgiveness with our guest Ashley-Ann, who shares her deeply personal story. We begin by contemplating the concept of breaking generational cycles. Ashley-Ann's narrative becomes a powerful lens through which we examine this idea. Growing up in the aftermath of her parents' separation, she faced challenges that reshaped her life's trajectory. The impact of her absent father weighed heavily on her, and she discusses the emotional complexities of navigating this absence. The tragic loss of her cousin marked a turning point in her family's dynamics, leading to her father's reentry into their lives. This event served as a catalyst for healing, underscoring the intricate connections between grief, reconciliation, and personal growth. A life-altering accident compelled her to seek familial support, highlighting the significance of vulnerability and the bonds that tie families together. The malleability of truth is explored in the context of family memories. Ashley-Ann's insights prompt us to consider the subjective nature of truth and the potential for differing recollections within relationships. Central to her journey is the theme of forgiveness—both towards oneself and others. Through candid reflection, she unveils the profound impact of forgiveness on her path to healing. As time passed, her relationship with her father underwent a transformative evolution, ultimately leading to mutual understanding and emotional restoration. The exploration of self-discovery leads us to understand how our personal growth impacts our relationships. Ashley-Ann's insights offer a compelling perspective on this interconnectedness. Defining self-love, she eloquently articulates its essence—a powerful reminder of its role in fostering emotional well-being. The episode culminates in a poignant discussion on hope. Ashley-Ann shares her perspective on the significance of hope, leaving us with a sense of optimism and resilience. Ashley-Ann is a guide for those on a spiritual awakening journey who are ready to break generational cycles. She is a multi-passionate soul here to be a portal of love and expansion. She's the co-founder of The Studio Press where she guides soul-led individuals in finding their voice through book writing and self-publishing. She's the host of the podcast show Beyond the Surface, where she dives into conversations with guests who share stories, wisdom, teachings and experiences to help us on our soul's evolution, healing and growth. In this episode, I interview Ashley-Ann Pereira. She is the founder of The Studio Press & the author of the book: The Key to Happiness: A Journey to Owning My Story. Which has been transformed into an online coaching and healing experience. In this interview, you will learn: Your story matters. We get caught up in the fear of not getting into storytelling. We don't do it because we start wondering if anyone really wants to hear our story. Ashley is here to tell you - your story matters. Storytelling is an important skill to have. Ashley literally built her brand by telling her story. It all started, when she entered a public speaking competition in June 2015. She was so scared that she was going to get vulnerable on stage since this was her first time ever speaking out loud. But this was when Ashley truly fell in love with the art of storytelling because she saw the impact it had - it opened up conversations. Storytelling is an extremely important skill to have because ultimately, it will build connections. When you're on stage or in front of the room, the audience has no choice except to listen. This is why entrepreneurs need to be that person at the front of the room getting the attention. How to not lose people when storytelling Trying to fit in so many little details in a five-minute story is how you lose people. You have an entire life story but you also have a lot of mini-stories in between, this is key for the sake of a five-minute story. So you may not be always telling your story from beginning to end, you might just be telling a chapter. The thing is, sometimes what happens is when we get the opportunity to speak, we try and fit everything and then we lose people. And there wasn't anything impactful about that at all because you can't even fit in any message.
