#4 "An Attitude Check"
Sermon on the Incarnation from Philippians 2:5-11 by Martin McCorkle
We should go very long without conducting an attitude check on ourselves. Negativity, sarcasm, unChristlike thoughts and feelings creep in so easily. Isn't it time for an ATTITUDE CHECK?
Moon & Rocc are back to preview a crucial matchup against the Whitecaps (the second in just two weeks) , sort through some big problems against the Rapids, get into a little positivity & sort through the news of the week: We're going to try to be positive today despite CITY getting rolled 4-1! ...we failed almost immediately! Why there's a big difference in what went wrong in the Rapids first goal vs. 2, 3, AND 4 The "thin line" of defending & why CITY's mistakes were about decision-making Positives! The excitement for Girdwood-Reich, Tuechert & Hartel as they arrive, get acclimated & we guess how they're be best utilized Moon & Rocc's weekly disagreement: Is there enough accountability & leadership in the CITY locker room More positives! Jay Reid, Johnny Klein & Kijima continue to make a big impact! Is the math starting to turn against CITY in the playoff race? These next three games are important but lets be honest--everything comes down to how this team starts looking after July 18th Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
"Attitude Check" Psalm 73 1. The premise stated: God is good to the faithful. (v. 1) 2. The premise questioned: Why do the godless live the “good life”? (vv. 2-14) 3. The premise put in perspective: Worship God! (vv. 15 – 22). 4. The premise re-affirmed: Nothing compares to knowing God. (vv. 23-28) So What?
There are some who don't walk as closely with the Lord as they know they should, but there are others that are on fire. They pray, they study, they fellowship, they evangelize. But sometimes they feel a little superior. They can become judgmental. Today, Pastor Ray helps us recognize that danger as we look at the Pharisees. Mark 8:11-21
It's impossible to be both judgmental and loving towards someone at the same time. And the Lord never said they shall know you are Christians, by your judgment, was. So how do we avoid the trap of living as judgmental Pharisees? Mark 8:11-21

As the Philippians live humbly and with a servant attitude, Paul reminds them to look to Jesus as THE model and example.
None of us plan on wrecking our lives, but it happens…even to the best of us. We all fail and make mistakes. What if we saw ourselves in some else's story and could learn from their mistakes? Join us as we look at the life of a legend and learn from his story filled with lust, pride, revenge, entitlement, murder, and suicide.
The Book of James Part 8: The Real Deal - Attitude Check Bill Corley Original Air Date: 2023.06.04 If you have brothers or sisters, you understand the nature of the relationship and the ups and downs that come with it. We may not realize it, but Jesus had brothers and sisters... Mark 6:3 tells us, Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joseph and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him. We don't know much more about His family, but one brother in particular we can learn from is James. James' story is amazing, having gone from little brother and skeptic, to believer in Jesus as the Messiah and leader of the early church and writer of the book that bears his name. We invite you to join us – and James – as we learn more of his story and his teachings on the Christian life and church life. His instructions to believers and the church are amazingly on point for today, they are clear and leave no room for doubt. If you are not one to mince words with others, you'll love James! Different year, same shit! Ever faced someone with an ego? It's time to give those people an attitude check and for the heck of it, give yourself some too.
In this episode, Dr. Paula gets real on the topic of attitude! How easy it is to let our own circumstances, or simply our mood, affect our attitude toward others. As Christians, the attitude we care into the world each day is a reflection of who we are in Christ, and can speak volumes to those around us. If you think others don't notice, you're probably wrong. It's okay to have a bad day; everybody does. How that bad day rules our words and actions is another thing. Take 20 minutes to listen to Dr. Paula's words of encouragement on this topic! If there was ever a time in modern day human history to stand for the Kingdom, it's now. More than ever in our lifetime, the way in which we approach the culture is vital in our ability to reach them. Everyone today is offended by something, and agreement seems to be a lost art form. So rather than be like the world, there is a way to stand firm in our convictions and yet model a different attitude while doing so. Don't back away from defending life, instead, do it with a different attitude.
