In this study in Matthew chapter 8 verses 18 thru 27, Jesus makes two trips by boat.First, Jesus deals with a scribe and a half hearted disciple who wanted to follow Him, in verse 18 thru 23. Dr. Mitchell discourses on the motivations of these two would-be disciples while Jesus' disciples continued to follow Jesus. So where does Jesus lead these disciples? He leads them into a storm and they became afraid. But who did they turn to? They turned to Jesus in the midst of their storm. Do you and I do this when the waves get rough in our life? The Lord Jesus is here when we turn to Him and call on Him in our present distress. Let's turn to Matthew 8:18 with Dr. Mitchell as he shares comforting passages from the Scriptures to encourage our faith in God here on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.

In chapter 8, Matthew writes of our Lord healing the servant of a Roman centurion. He really cared for his servant-slave. Here Matthew presents the first Gentile in his book. This centurion's faith was unique. Here is what Jesus said in verse 10, "Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith".Why did Jesus say this? The centurion believed Jesus could heal his servant with just a word. No need to go to the servant or to touch him. Jesus just spoke the word and he was healed. What power that is?When the Lord healed Peter's mother-in-law with a touch and later cast out demons, Matthew quotes, the O.T for the 17th time. "He took our illnesses and bore our diseases" found in Isaiah 53:4. Here Jesus fulfills another Messianic prophecy as the Messiah. Here is Dr. Mitchell on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast, Matthew 8:5.

Our lesson begins in Matthew chapter 8. We will be looking into verses 1 thru 4 here on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.Dr. Mitchell points out the power of our Lord Jesus in this chapter. Jesus has power over disease, over demons, and over nature. So in this study, we see Jesus displaying power over disease by healing a leper. Leprosy is a picture of the defilement of sin. Jesus' healing this leprous man demonstrates His authority to forgive sins. This act showed Jesus as the Messiah spoken about in the O.T. The Messiah would be able to heal and He did.Jesus is able to heal the sick of spirit, of soul and of body. Jesus has died and shed His blood to cleanse from sin and guilt. The one who reaches out to Him in prayer and faith can receive that forgiveness and cleansing before God Himself. Here is Dr. Mitchell, Matthew 8:1-4.

TU JAZZ CON SABOR A VERANO.-941-48.Jazz Vitoria Gasteiz Dora Morelenbaum Quartet.-941.-Dee Dee Bridgewater.- 60º Jazzaldia Dora Morelenbaum Quartet Formación: Dora Morelebaum (voz, guitarra y teclados) Guilherme Lirio (guitarra) Guto Wirti.

If you're a fan of the show, you know I love a good concept album. And when I found out there were local Indy prog musicians creating a concept album just down the road from me? I had to have them over to discuss it! This episode, I sat down with StarChaser, the medium-bending band led by the visionary Kara Tucker (vocals/guitar) and her husband Nick Tucker (bass/guitar). Dorian Phelps rounds out the trio on drums. More than just musicians, Nick and Kara bring together art, fashion, and storytelling to create a world around their music. Since Kara and Nick are locals, I actually got to have them over to the Michael's Mixdown studio for an in-person chat! In this conversation, they share how their artistic backgrounds shape StarChaser's identity, from the bold visual aesthetics and stage presence to the deeply personal stories woven into their lyrics, and the music they love that inspires them. Whether you're drawn in by the sound, the look, or the stories behind it all, this episode offers a closer look at the creative heartbeat of Indianapolis' own StarChaser. All the links!https://www.youtube.com/@JuJu_StarChaserhttps://starchaser1.bandcamp.com/album/tsars-of-the-universehttps://www.instagram.com/jujustarchaser/Find my other show, The Custodians, here: https://shows.acast.com/the-custodians Hosted on Acast. To finish out chapter 7 of Matthew with this lesson, Dr. Mitchell begins with verse 23. He speaks again of the false prophets. He presents the true and wise criteria for discerning the message of one who preaches and teaches the Scriptures. You can be sure sure it all centers around the Word of God and the Person and Work of Jesus Christ. So, listen carefully for these criteria.Next, looking at verses 24 thru 29, Matthew writes Jesus' words concerning two foundations. Jesus compares two men who built two houses on two different foundations. One built on the rock, the other built on the sand. Which stands the storms of life in this world? Is it Jesus Christ and the Word of God? Which foundation are you building on? Is it firm, stable and unmovable or is it moving, shifting and unstable? Here on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast is Dr. Mitchell, Matthew 7:23-29.

Matthew chapter 7 verses 15 thru 23 takes on a different tone as Jesus presents warnings to those hearing His words. He warns us concerning false prophets. He speaks concerning their disguise, their fruit and their destiny. These false prophets come from among those who are traveling on the wide and broad way. Dr. Mitchell points out that these false prophets and teachers come in among God's people. So, how does one know who these are? Dr. Mitchell shares a number of Scriptures that helps one to discern what is of the truth and who is not. And the fruit of their words and their deeds leads one to ask: Does that one know Jesus as their savior. You can be assured that Jesus Christ, who is the truth, will be the deciding factor in one's discernment of the true and the false as Dr. Mitchell tells us on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast, Matthew 7:15-23.

Matthew chapter 7 begins with Jesus dealing with judging others before examining oneself. One's perspective in seeing is the difference between seeing a plank or a splinter. Dr. Mitchell then takes up the attitude the believer should have toward the unbeliever in sharing precious truth that they wouldn't understand. In verses 7 through 11, Jesus speaks to us about the Father's desire to give good gifts to his children. We who know the Lord can be assured that God does answer our prayers. Are you a child of God through faith in Jesus Christ?Dr. Mitchell then takes up the verses having to do with the golden rule and then teaches on the two ways. One way is Broad and leads to destruction the other is narrow and leads to life. Here is Dr. Mitchell with the way to life on the Unchanging Word Bible broadcast, Mt. 7:1-14.
From his early days with Lodgic and World Trade, his first involvements with Yes and Chris Squire (in Conspiracy), through his solo career, many side projects (The Prog Collective, Circa, Yoso, and Arc of Life), and his eventual return to the Yes fold, Billy Sherwood has sure been around the proverbial block! Our study takes us into Matthew chapter 6 verses 19-34. Matthew, a disciple, and a former tax collector, heard Jesus speak of not laying up treasure for one's self on this earth but rather laying up treasures for one's self in heaven.Treasures in heaven are far from the the things that can eat it up or corrupt it and make it worthless. It is also far from those who would steal it from you.The import of these verses has to do with anxiety which too easily comes upon on us in these changing times, fortunes and circumstances. Our Lord has the answer for these anxieties concerning our lifestyles by focusing our attention of God's priorities (Mat. 6:33) and to stop worrying. Let's trust our Lord Jesus Christ when He says, "Do not be anxious about tomorrow.."Here is Dr. Mitchell, on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast,Matthew 6:19-34

The Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast continues in the book of Matthew, chapter 6, verses 11-18.We'll first hear a brief review of previous verses to focus our hearts on the context of our Lord's words to His disciples and the people who where listening to Him in that day.Dr. Mitchell walks us through the two verses dealing with the Lord's instructions to his disciples on how to pray. In verse 14, He further explains that part of the prayer dealing with forgiveness.Dr. Mitchell relates several scriptures declaring forgiveness of sins to every one who trusts in Christ for it. Along with this trust in Jesus Christ as one's savior comes cleansing from all sin and unrighteousness. Jesus' blood on the cross is that on which God guarantees His forgiveness and salvation to you and me.Here is Dr. Mitchell, Matthew 6:11.

Thank you for being here with us! The passage before us in this study covers verses which much of christendom almost knows by heart. Here in these verses, Mt.6:9-13, Jesus teaches His disciples how to pray. Often times called the "Lord's Prayer" it is in reality the 'Disciple's Prayer' as taught to them by the Lord Jesus.Dr. Mitchell states that this prayer contains 3 parts God-ward and 3 parts man-ward. He will be looking into the first two verses dealing with one's attitude toward God, Our Father. Here in verses 9-10 is presented the question of reverence, rule and obedience, e.g. Thy Name, Thy kingdom, Thy will. The prayer is directed to Our Father, the one who is in heaven.Turn with us in your Bible to Matthew 6:9-10 with Dr. Mitchell, here on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.

Dr. Mitchell next takes up Mat.6:5-8 where our Lord speaks on the subject of prayer. Jesus instructs those listening concerning their personal relationship to their Father. He teaches them, again, about one's motive. Even one's motive in praying in public is open to God.Next then, Jesus speaks about praying to the Father in private. He makes mention of the need to realize that Our Father knows what we need before we even ask Him. Therefore, we don't need to use perpetual and meaningless repetitions of words with God. Jesus said this is what religious people do who do not know God as their Father.Read 1Kings 18:20-38. Read the difference between the short prayer of Elijah and the many words of Baal's prophets. Here on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast, Dr. Mitchell walks us through Mt.6:5-8.
