From Ephesians 4:2, we learn that Christian love is not primarily about emotion, but is expressed through humility, gentleness, and patience in our relationships with one another.
This is Pastor Keith Allen's Sunday message, taken from the Book of Ephesians, Chapter 4, Verses 1 - 3.
As Christ has delivered peace to us in salvation, so we must live in peace, forbearing with our brothers and sisters in Christ for the glory of God.

In Galatians 6:1-2, Paul calls us to bear one another's burdens, not as a mere moral duty, but as a reflection of Christ Himself—the One who bore the heaviest burden of all, our sin. To carry another's weight is to display the gospel in action, fulfilling the law of Christ, the law of love. Are we willing to step into the struggle of another, even when it costs us? This message will challenge you to embrace the costly, grace-filled call of true Christian community.

Guest Preacher James RisnerTEXT: Ephesians 4:1-3BIG IDEA: Walk worthy of the calling to reflect the unified glory of our triune God by making loving allowances for each other's faults.OUTLINE: 1. Therefore… – Because you have been blessed in Christ with every spiritual blessing (ch1) – Because you have been saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, for the glory of God alone (ch 2) – Because God has reconciled us to God and each other by the blood of Christ (ch 3) – Because this good news has been graciously given to us, strengthening us with supernatural power to live a life that reflects the unified glory of our Triune God (ch 3) 2. The worthy life embodies four specific virtues: humility, gentleness, patience, and love. Love is the capstone virtue that grounds each of them and binds them together (1 Cor 13:13). 3. Walk worthy of the calling to reflect the unified glory of our triune God by making loving allowances for each other's faults.

Believers should take great care to never tempt another believer to sin, as Pastor Cameron reminds us today. We are called to serve others before ourselves.

Unless we learn to give these wounds into the file drawer of heaven, to allow Christ to take these burdens of heart for us, we will be overwhelmed by a shadow of bitterness, anger or disappointment. That is why forgiveness is so very essential to the message of Christ.
Ephesians urges the people of the church to “bear with one another in love” because the thing is, relationships are hard and people can be annoying! Examining the original translation of the text gives us a rich understanding of what it looks like for us - and for God - to truly bear with people in love, even when it's difficult.
God's word doesn't assume that His Church has already been made perfect, but makes clear we are a people in process being shaped and molded by the hands of His Spirit into the image of Jesus. Until then, for unity to be preserved among us, there must be a predisposition we each hold towards one another that requires humility, patience, love, and forgiveness: We must share a willingness to Bear With One Another. We must then us OUR ACTIONS to implement Our Mentality of Lowliness/Gentleness, and OUR COMMUNITY in Long-suffering/Bearing with/and Keeping Unity with our fellow believers and others we wish to attract to our community.Quote: “In the beginning the church was a fellowship of men and women centered on the living Christ. Then the church moved to Greece, where it became a philosophy. Then it moved to Rome, where it became an institution (Holy Roman empire). Next, it moved to Europe, where it became a culture. And, finally, it moved to America, where it became an enterprise.” -Halverson
Authentic relationships bring tensions, but we should make allowance for each other's faults. Key Verses: Colossians 3:12-15
How much can one person take, and still choose to offer kindness? In Genesis Chapter 37, verses 12–36, 17-year-old Joseph is sent by his father to visit his brothers, who were tending the family's flock of sheep in the countryside. Rather than the friendly check-in he expected, Joseph's brothers initially plotted to kill him out of jealousy, but instead sold him into slavery to a group of Ishmaelites heading for Egypt. Among the brothers, only Reuben wished to leave Joseph unharmed, attempting (but failing) to set up a situation where he could rescue his brother and return him to their father. In Egypt, Joseph was falsely accused of a crime, thrown into prison, became an interpreter of dreams for Pharaoh, and eventually attained a seat of power over Egypt. When famine hit the land where his brothers lived, they came to Egypt to buy grain. They didn't know Joseph was not only alive, but was now the governor of Egypt. To their surprise, Joseph wasn't angry at his brothers, but showed them compassion when he saw them again. Instead of taking revenge, he took them in and cared for them. Joseph knew everything that had happened was part of God's plan, and what his brothers intended for harm, God intended for good. Ephesians 4:2 says, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” The story of Joseph teaches us that humility, patience, gentleness, and love are not just qualities to be saved up for those who deserve it; God asks us to approach others with love even if they have offended or caused us harm. Let's pray. Lord, sometimes the people in our lives are disappointing, frustrating, or downright hurtful. Help us to love those who fall short and need our forgiveness the most, and to bear with each other with patience, and with grace. Amen.
