Marx is a regular headliner on the comedy circuit who delivers a unique mixture of dark humour and fantastic delivery.  He has performed several solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and has twice won the New Zealand Comedy Festival for Best International Show. I have seen Marx live on stage for We Love Comedy in London in 2013, The Best of The Comedy Store in 2014, Always Be Comedy in London in 2017 and Downstairs At The Kings Head in London in 2023. Carey Marx' Fringe in 2013 is the sort of one-line elevator pitch that Hollywood loves - ‘I had to cancel my show in 2012 because I had a heart attack… let's talk about that in 2013'. Marx was already an accomplished storyteller who had that delightful ability to keep the story on the straight and narrow but twist everything else just a little, under the surface, and capture the audience. Intensive Carey - which is still a fabulous pun nearly ten years later - did just that. The Fringe is also family, and knowing that Carey was absent in 2012 meant that so many people - including myself - were delighted just to have him back. This show, just as many others, started in an incredibly relatable place. So let's go back to 2013, go back to welcome Carey back to the Gilded Balloon, and experience some Intensive Carey.

They said it can't be done!!! Mr Foote's Other Leg is at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket in London. Designer Wayne Hemingway co-founded the Red or Dead fashion label with his wife Gerardine. The couple are the authors of The Vintage Fashion Bible which takes a chronological look at 20th century fashion for men and women. It also offers a practical guide to buying, styling and restoring vintage clothing. The Vintage Fashion Bible by Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway is published by David and Charles Publishers. Carey Marx is a comedian who suffered a heart attack in 2012. He survived and has turned his experience into a stand-up show. RHEFP 2013 #7: Ian Lavender, Tony Law and Carey Marx - Molly Sugden's Space Pussy. A week into the Fringe and madness may be descending. An exuberant Tony Law has been celebrating having someone to help him look after his children by making a night of it. And the night might still be going on. It's hard to tell, as he's always like this. But will mixing a pumped up Law with a quietly spoken (possibly too quietly spoken to be heard) Ian Lavender cause them to reach the same level or explode? Nothing makes sense any more, but there's a lot of stuff about Mary Beard and owls and the Who and then some slightly less insane (but only by comparison) information about Goodnight Sweetheart, Molly Sugden, Elke Somer in a shower and whether a forty year old catchphrase has ever made Lavender snap. Or will being sandwiched between a bickering Law and Herring be enough. Fantastic stand-up interspersed between the mayhem from Carey Marx.
