Today the Avs took on 9-1, Northwest division leader, the Minnesota Wild, and beat them 4-1. Lapierriere got his 100th goal of his career, and Hejduk got his fourth goal in only two games. In todays game (the first time Washington has come to Colorado since December 8, 2003, Avs won 4-1) the Washington Caps had a pretty good game, winning 5-3. The score doesn’t tell the story as well as you might think. The Avs could have easily one if one or two (trust me, there were more than enough chances) of their 48 shots had made it past the goalie, we would have won, it just wasn’t our night tonight. Today the Avs decimated the Los Angeles Kings, an once Av Rob Blake. The Avs won by a score of 6-1, scoring 5 of the goals in the second period. Hejduk got a goal using his face, although it was not the game winner (Hejduk did get the game winner also) it was a pretty nice goal. The Avs managed to lose their 3-0 lead late in the first, and lost by a sickening score of 8-5. The Avs at least had a good record on the road, going 2-1. Today the Avs beat the Senators 2-1, in their second game of the three game Canadian road trip. Joe Sakic got the the first goal, which was followed by a shorthanded goal by Richardson. Today the Avs took on one of the six original teams of the NHL, the Toronto Maple Leafs. We crushed the Maple Leafs by a score of 4-1. Liles got two goals, both the game winner and the third goal. The Avs lost to the Chicago Blackhawks by a score of 5-3. It was the first time that the Blackhawks beat the Avs when we were at home since the 2001-2002 season. They Avs went on to lose in the overtime period, as they did yesterday, the Avs are now 0-0-2, with 2 points. Today the Colorado Avalanche took on the Dallas Stars in both teams season openers. The Avs took the early lead, up 2-0 until 1 minute into the third period, when Dallas scored 2 goals within 30 seconds.
