Tuesday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded, edited, and is set to massage your ear feelings. On this week's podcast, the guys discussed the Oilers' Game 1 loss, the special teams, penalty calls, and much more. The guys kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a discussion about Monday's loss to the Kings, and how it was incredibly frustrating to have the Oilers come back from being down 4-0 and lose before the game got to OT. Starting with the mess in their zone, the boys wondered why Edmonton seems to be a yard sale in their end when they were so good defensively in last year's run. The guys also discussed whether or not losing Game 1 has any effect on how confident everyone is about the Oilers' ability to still win the series.Changing gears, the boys discussed potential lineup adjustments for Game 2 if Evander Kane can return to the lineup for Game 2. As you'll hear, the boys have a few different names circled to get swapped out for Kane. What will be most interesting to see is what Kris Knoblauch thinks is the most significant need relative to who's coming out. Would Knoblauch sacrifice a penalty killer like Mattias Janmark or Connor Brown for Kane? What about a guy like Jeff Skinner, who was on the ice for three goals against? Either way, Finally, the boys wrapped up the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a random collection of topics from around the NHL, including Lou Lamoriello's departure in New York, the implosion happening in Vancouver, coaches getting fired, and much more. Despite the Oilers' loss in Los Angeles, the boys' spirits were still high and looking ahead to a much better effort in Game 2 on Wednesday. SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

It's a Friday edition of Oilersnation Everyday with Tyler Yaremchuk, coming to you LIVE from the Sherwood Ford booth at the Edmonton Expo Centre! The Edmonton Oilers are back in action tonight as they take on the San Jose Sharks with yet another chance to clinch a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. All they need is a single point against the Sharks, or for the Calgary Flames to lose to the Minnesota Wild in any fashion, to officially punch their ticket to the postseason.Stuart Skinner will return to the lineup, but it'll be Calvin Pickard getting the start between the pipes. The Oilers are coming off a big win on Wednesday night, which saw Connor McDavid return to the lineup in style, putting up three points and making an immediate impact. He'll once again skate alongside Jeff Skinner and Connor Brown — a trio that could have major playoff implications. We'll break everything down with our lineup report, game notes, and the Sherwood Ford Giant Question. We'll also get into our Gameday Bet365 Betting Challenge picks as the race to the finish heats up. Finally, we'll be joined by former Oilers defenseman Jason Demers to dive into the biggest storylines around the NHL, assess the Oilers' current injury situation, and give his take on who should be between the pipes for Game 1 of the playoffs. Don't miss it!Website: https://oilersnation.com/ https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!
The Oilers finished off their four-game road trip with a 3-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. In his debut, Olivier Rodrigue made 18 saves on the night, while Adam Henrique and Jeff Skinner socred the goals for Edmonton. The downside for the Oil was going 0-for-6 on the power play and a couple of crucial turnovers led to the loss. Hear postgame interviews from head coach Kris Knoblauch and Darnell Nurse. Tom Gazzola - Hernan Salas - Shawn Belle
That's three wins in a row for the Oilers as they get by the San Jose Sharks 3-2 in game two of their four-game road trip. It wasn't all good for the Oil as Leon Draisaitl left the game late in the second period due to injury and did not return. Viktor Arvidsson continues his strong play, scoring on the power play, while Jeff Skinner and Connor Brown added the other goals. Postgame interviews from Kris Knoblauch and forward Connor Brown. Tom Gazzola - Hernan Salas - Matt Kassian.
The Edmonton Oilers picked up a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks last night, with Calvin Pickard earning his 20th win of the season between the pipes. It was a night of key depth scoring, as Connor Brown, Viktor Arvidsson, and Jeff Skinner all found the back of the net to help the Oilers secure two points. The biggest storyline from the game however? The injury to Leon Draisaitl. After taking a number of hits and getting roughed up throughout the night, Draisaitl removed himself from the game in the second period and did not return. With Connor McDavid already out of the lineup, what does this mean for the Oilers moving forward? We'll break it all down with our scoring summary, One Big Take, and the Sherwood Ford Giant Question.Plus, we'll be joined by Dennis Bernstein to preview tomorrow's massive Pacific Division showdown with the LA Kings, as the Oilers continue their push for second place. Another Wednesday means another episode of Better Lait Than Never is wrapped up, edited, and ready to get you through what's left of the week. On today's podcast, we're discussing Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' heater, McDavid and Draisaitl's injury timelines, the #NationVacation to Vegas, and more.I kicked off this week's podcast with a random collection of topics that have happened since last week, including some of the books I'm reading, trying to learn how to use a 3D printer, and how I'm going to be a fancy boy at the Oilers game tonight. As you'll hear, your boy will be in a game-time situation that has only ever happened once before — or when I snuck in — and I couldn't be more excited.Turning the podcast to the Oilers, I had to start with the heater Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has been on over his last four games and how it's so much fun to watch my guy crank it up when the team needs him most. While the start of RNH's season wasn't the most productive offensively, the guy has really turned it on down the stretch. Same goes for Jeff Skinner, who, all of a sudden, has three goals in his last two games after getting bumped up the lineup with Connor and Leon out. Yet, based on the line combos from practice yesterday, our man Skinner could be back to his usual spot on the 3rd line against Dallas. The other story that popped around here this week was the quote from Stan Bowman on Hockey Night in Canada that expressed his confidence in the team's ability to re-sign Connor McDavid to an extension. While Bowman didn't get into any details apart from saying he felt confident they would get it done, the GM's words were music to the fanbase's ears. Sticking with contracts, Jacob Chychrun signed a massive extension with Washington yesterday, which led to a discussion about how that deal will affect Evan Bouchard's upcoming contract negotiations. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about my trip to WEM before wrapping up the podcast with another round of voicemails. While the voicemail was quieter this week, the messages that did get left were very funny and all over the map. As always, finishing up the show with your opinions is my favourite part of the whole thing and something I always look forward to.
The Edmonton Oilers are gearing up for a massive test against the Dallas Stars, still without both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. With their two superstars sidelined for all three games this week, the team will continue to lean on Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who has been red-hot with nine points in his last four games. Veteran depth players like Adam Henrique and Jeff Skinner have also stepped up, both finding the back of the net in Edmonton's last outing. We'll break down everything you need to know ahead of tonight's matchup, including our lineup report, key game notes, and one big take on what the Oilers must do to secure a win. Finally, we'll close out the show with our game day Bet365 Betting Challenge, giving you our best picks for the night. It's Tuesday afternoon, and a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is set, edited, and ready to massage your earhole. On today's episode, we discussed Evan Bouchard's next contract, McDavid and Draisaitl's injury timelines, Jeff Skinner, and much more. We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about a neighbour in Dan's hood who keeps running his diesel truck for extended periods every day. As you'll hear, the neighbour is clearly trying to troll his neighbours with his vehicle, which led the guys to offer a range of solutions, from calling the bi-law officer to being much more petty than that. As a bonus delicious debate, Tyler wanted to know how the Jacob Chychrun extension in Washington will impact Evan Bouchard's upcoming negotiation. Needless to say, it's going to get expensive. Changing gears, we looked at the updated injury timelines for Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl and how the Oilers will be without their two stars for (at least) the next three games. Given that the Oilers have some winnable games — Dallas aside — over the next week, it's not the worst idea to give the team's two best players a little some extra time to get healthy. The good news, however, is that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has caught fire over the last week or so, and having the secondary scorers start to warm up certainly helps the decision. The tricky part of the situation is that the secondary scorers need to keep chipping in.Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a discussion about Connor McDavid's contract extension after a quote from Stan Bowman on Hockey Night in Canada had the fanbase buzzing. We also walked through some NHL and CFL futures in our betting segment for bet365 before wrapping up the podcast with a round of keys to victory ahead of Wednesday's matchup with the Dallas Stars. The Edmonton Oilers pulled off a gutsy 5-4 win over the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night, despite being without Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. It was Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' night, as he stepped up in a massive way, scoring a hat trick in his new role as the first-line center. With the team missing their two biggest stars, other depth players rose to the occasion, including Adam Henrique, who opened the scoring on the power play, and Jeff Skinner, who continued his hot streak by finding the back of the net once again. In goal, Stuart Skinner held his own, making 27 saves on 31 shots to pick up his 24th win of the season. The Oilers controlled most of the game but had to withstand a late push from the Kraken to secure the victory. Now, they'll have a much-needed three-day break before hosting the Dallas Stars on Wednesday at Rogers Place. We'll break down all the key moments in our scoring summary, One Big Take, and Sherwood Ford Giant Question. Plus, we'll be joined by former Edmonton Oiler and current Sportsnet analyst Louie DeBrusk to discuss what he saw from the Oilers without McDavid and Draisaitl, and who impressed him the most in their absence.Don't miss it!Website: https://oilersnation.com/ https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!
The Oilers didn't make it easy but they were able to hold on for a 5-4 win over the Seattle Kraken. Veteran forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins led the charge, recording the Oilers first hat trick of the season, while Jeff Skinner continued his good play with another goal on the night. Edmonton is now 4-0-1 in their last five games and will return to action on Wednesday versus Dallas. Postgame interviews from the hero of the night Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and defenceman Mattias Ekholm. It's Friday afternoon, the trade deadline has passed, and now it's time to recap everything the Edmonton Oilers got done or didn't get done at the NHL's annual swap 'n shop. On today's show, we discussed the Oilers losing Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid, their loss to the Winnipeg Jets, and what comes next for the team.We kicked off the podcast with a delicious debate about what the Oilers will do with their line combinations with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl out of the lineup for the next three games. Needless to say, losing your two best players is a massive issue regardless of the team, and now it will be up to the rest of the roster to do what they can to fill the void. As you'll hear, the boys pulled out their best mental gymnastics to put some new line combos together based on the players who are currently available.Changing gears, we looked back at last night's loss to the Winnipeg Jets and how it was still a positive that the Oilers managed to grind out a point against a very good team under what were strange circumstances. While some Oilers fans are understandably upset about the loss, the boys on the podcast tried to reframe the result with a positive tone. We also discussed what was Jeff Skinner's best game as an Oiler, and how it was great to see him get some success in the top six. Finally, we wrapped up the episode with another round of betting talk, Ask the Idiots questions, and our Hot and Cold Performers. Even though the topics were all over the map, the conversation ended up getting a little bit spicier than you'd imagine from our usual Friday segments. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The Oilers winning streak is snapped as they lose to the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 in overtime. The big news of the game was the injury to Connor McDavid as he missed the third period due to a lower-body injury which was announced by the Oilers PR staff. Despite the injury news, the Oilers played a pretty good game, getting two goals from Jeff Skinner and going 4-for-4 on the penalty kill. Postgame interviews from Darnell Nurse and Jeff Skinner. Up next the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night. (8PM) Tom Gazzola - Hernan Salas - Matt Kassian - Reid WIlkins
The Edmonton Oilers battled hard against the league-leading Winnipeg Jets but ultimately fell 3-2 in overtime at Rogers Place. It was a breakout night for Jeff Skinner, as he buried two goals while skating on the top line with Connor McDavid. The game had a playoff-like intensity, with two high-powered teams trading chances all game long.Unfortunately, the biggest storyline of the night was McDavid's injury. He left late in the second period with a lower-body injury and did not return, leaving Oilers fans holding their breath. To make matters worse, Stuart Skinner was pulled from the game with five minutes left after a collision in the crease with Gabe Vilardi, forcing Calvin Pickard to come in for relief. In the end, Kyle Connor sealed the win for Winnipeg in OT with his 38th goal of the season. We'll break down all the key moments in our scoring summary, One Big Take, and Sherwood Ford Giant Question. Then, we'll be joined by former NHL defenseman Jason Demers for his weekly Friday hit, where we'll get his take on the game and what McDavid's injury could mean for the Oilers moving forward.Don't miss this one!Website: https://oilersnation.com/ https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

After a rollercoaster four-game road trip, the Edmonton Oilers are back at Rogers Place to kick off a four-game homestand against the Utah Hockey Club. The road trip started on a rough note with losses to Buffalo and New Jersey, but the Oilers managed to salvage it with back-to-back wins against the Islanders and Rangers. Now, they look to build on that momentum in front of their home crowd.Calvin Pickard will get the start between the pipes tonight after an outstanding performance against the Islanders, where he stopped 24 of 25 shots in a crucial overtime win. Another big storyline heading into this matchup is the promotion of Jeff Skinner to the Oilers' top line alongside Connor McDavid, a move that could provide a fresh offensive spark. Additionally, Zach Hyman returns to the lineup after missing Sunday's game against the Rangers, bringing back his much-needed scoring presence. We'll go through our lineup report, game notes, and Sherwood Ford Giant Question, plus break down what this game means for the Oilers as they try to climb the standings. Then, we'll be joined by former Oilers goaltender Devan Dubnyk, who will share his thoughts on Edmonton's improved goaltending and defensive play, as well as Calvin Pickard's clutch OT performance against the Islanders. We'll also wrap things up with our Bet365 Gameday Betting Challenge, where Tyler and Liam give their best bets for tonight's matchup. The Edmonton Oilers continue their four-game road trip tonight with a matchup against the New Jersey Devils, looking to put Monday's embarrassing 3-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres behind them. The Oilers have struggled for a few weeks now, and with the playoffs fast approaching, they need to find their game—starting tonight. Fortunately, they'll face a Devils team missing their superstar Jack Hughes, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. The big story heading into this one is Jeff Skinner's promotion to the second line alongside Leon Draisaitl and Viktor Arvidsson. With the Oilers' offensive production dipping in recent weeks, Skinner will be asked to provide a much-needed spark in the top six. Will this adjustment help Edmonton find the firepower they've been missing?Another major question mark for the Oilers is goaltending. Stuart Skinner has struggled since returning from the 4 Nations Faceoff break, and with a shaky Oilers defense in front of him, they'll need a big performance from their starter to walk away with two points. Can he step up and deliver a signature win on the road? We'll go through all our game day essentials, including the latest lineup report, game notes, and our Sherwood Ford Giant Question. Plus, we'll close things out with our Gameday Bet365 Betting Challenge, breaking down the best value plays for tonight's matchup.Tune in as we get you set for a crucial game in New Jersey!Website: https://oilersnation.com/ https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

Friday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to lead you into the weekend. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Jeff Skinner's spot in the lineup, Viktor Arvidsson's goal against the Blackhawks, Noah Philp being loaned to Bakersfield, and much more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Jeff Skinner's spot in the lineup and whether he's doing enough to keep himself in the top six. Given that the winger has played well over the last handful of games, will that be enough for Kris Knoblauch? Or will the Oilers' coach continue to mix up his lines in the hopes of finding the perfect fit? As you'll hear, everyone is cautiously optimistic about Skinner's game, but everyone is still a little gun-shy based on his usage so far this season.Changing gears, we looked at Viktor Arvidsson's big goal against the Chicago Blackhawks and whether that beautiful snipe gave us some excitement that could get his offence going. Given that the Oilers paid him a bunch of money to score goals, having only seven on the year is certainly concerning, but that also means there's more there than we're seeing. We also touched on the Oilers loaning Noah Philp back to the Condors ahead of the 4 Nations break and how it's important that he keeps playing instead of sitting around here in Edmonton. We then looked at some recent quotes from Stan Bowman regarding his plans for the trade deadline. As you'll hear, it sounds like the Oilers are seeking depth as opposed to a major acquisition, but there's also no way that he's going to tip his entire hand. When asked about the goaltending, Bowman gave his vote of confidence for his goaltending tandem after there's been a lot of noise about upgraded that position. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of the podcast with a random collection of topics, including some prop bets for Friday's Oilers game against the Avalanche, some Ask the Idiots questions from listeners, and Hot and Cold Performers to recap the best and worst moments from the past seven days. As always, the boys were all over the map with their answers, but that's the joy of opening up the end of the podcast for a little bit of shenanigans.

The Oilers win their second straight game in OT by defeating the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 on Wednesday night. The boys are back with a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio as they sit down to talk about the biggest stories surrounding the Edmonton Oilers. To kick off the podcast today, the guys got into a pretty spirited debate about the way that Kris Knoblauch and his coaching staff have handled Jeff Skinner. The team is winning, so why complain is the argument that Rick put forward but Tyler and Liam think that they aren't putting some players in spots to succeed. That led to some talk about how things have gone over the course of the three-game winning streak. The team is playing well and finding wins, but are they looking like a legit Stanley Cup contender? The boys talked about it.From there, they went around the league and talked about Logan Thompson's extension in Washington and what that could mean for Stuart Skinner's next contract. They also talked about the wild Mikko Rantanen rumour that was floated out earlier today. They then wrapped things up with some talk about Connor McDavid's chances of getting back into the scoring race now that his suspension is up and what they want to see from the team on Thursday vs Detroit.Oilersnation Radio
The usual suspects are back for this edition of 2 Guys & A Goalie! The boys will recap last night's game, in which the Oilers won 4-2. Should McDavid and Draisaitl be on the same line going forward, will Jeff Skinner ever be in the lineup consistently, and how about Calvin Pickard? All that will be discussed and so much more on today's edition of 2 Guys & A Goalie! 2 Guys & a Goalie is presented by GS Construction and brought to you in part by Coolbet Canada!

Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli are back with a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown as they took a look back at everything that went down over the weekend in the NHL.The big story is the end of the Oilers vs Canucks game on Saturday night as both Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers were ejected for cross-checks to the head of an opponent. Both now have hearings with the NHL DOPS, but should they be suspended the same number of games? The guys debated that and had a bigger picture conversation about the state of officiating in the league. They then got into the John Klingberg signing. Gregor gave some insight into where he could slot into the lineup and they talked about whether or not Klingberg can find his game with the Oilers. They then got into what's been going down over in the Eastern Conference. The Devils and Bruins are both slipping with the New York Rangers starting to find their game. They talked about the recent hot streak for New York and dug into some of their concerns with what's happening in New Jersey. That led to some conversation about the Simon Nemec comments. He didn't ask for a trade, but he wants to play in the NHL and the Devils have a loaded right-side of their blueline. Could something give there? Frank gave his thoughts. They also talked about Kappo Kakko's hot start to his Kraken career. The guys had a contentious debate a few weeks ago when the trade first went down so they revisited their conversation and their thoughts on the deal.Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys about best fits for JT Miller, the playoff chances for the Montreal Canadiens, and whether or not Jeff Skinner will finish out the year in Edmonton. They wrapped with some talk about potential injury replacements for the 4 Nations Faceoff with guys like Jason Robertson and Zach Hyman both shooting the lights out.1:10 - McDavid & Myers face hearings14:40 - John Klingberg signs in Edmonton17:55 - Eastern playoff picture20:50 - Concern in New Jersey?32:30 - Kakko & The Kraken35:40 - Fill in the Blank (JT Miller, Habs playoff chances, Skinner in Edmonton)47:00 - 4 Nations Injury ReplacementsWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger joined OverDrive to discuss the headlines around the NHL, the Jets' winning season and Connor Hellebuyck's compelling role to the team, the Maple Leafs receiving boos against Dallas and John Tavares' injury, John Klingberg's return to the NHL, Jeff Skinner's scratch in Edmonton and more.
It's Tuesday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your earholes and cover all of the Edmonton Oilers' biggest stories. On this week's podcast, we discussed the NHL playoff format, Monday's win over the Los Angeles Kings, and a whole lot more.We kicked off the Tuesday podcast with a delicious debate about the NHL playoff format and whether it's time for the league to revisit how the post-season is set up. With the current setup in place, the NHL clearly focuses on playoff rivalries more so than if everyone got re-seeded. Still, a conversation at Nation HQ made Baggedmilk wonder if it's time to re-visit the current format, which ultimately prompted the discussion.Returning to the Oilers, we looked back at last night's 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings and how it was one of Edmonton's best defensive outings of the season. Given that only one goal was scored all night, it was crucial to manage the puck carefully to avoid costly errors, and the guys discussed why the Oilers could do that successfully. We also discussed Connor McDavid scoring the game-winner on his 28th birthday and how an incredible second effort by Leon Draisaitl made the whole play possible.Sticking with the news from the past few days, we revisited Jeff Skinner being healthy scratched again and whether there's something to that lineup decision or if Kris Knoblauch went 11/7 to add some size to the lineup with Josh Brown. Given that Skinner was starting to play better, it was surprising for some Oilers fans to see him taking a spot in the press box again. We also looked at the rumour from Darren Dreger that the Oilers could be one of the teams interested in John Klingberg, who is reportedly nearing a return to the NHL.Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a discussion about another tough stretch in the Oilers' schedule that's coming up this week. The Oilers were able to handle the last difficult week of the schedule quite well the last time, but it will be much tougher to beat some of those teams for a second time. Either way, we gave our keys to victory regarding what the Oilers need to do to beat the Wild/Avalanche, and what habits they need to flex to make sure it's doable. Either way, the boys were feeling bullish.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!
