To Reign in Hell is a solo TTRPG / Journaling game about fear, lamentation, and loss, but it is also about pride, determination, and hope. You play the last warden of Hell, and you are utterly alone. The seals maintaining the prison are failing, and the malevolent souls of the damned constantly tear at the walls to escape. You have lost everyone who could help you, and whatever purpose you once fulfilled, it has long since been replaced by this lost cause. Though the situation is dire, the outlook bleak, you once fought a war against Heaven itself, so it is not in your nature to submit. You are indeed alone, but you persevere. Doubt, however, can be insidious, and hope is an unreliable ally. Thoughts: This is a fun game that follows the Wretched and Alone template very well. Definitely worth checking out. Not only does Keldric project to be an important piece on the field, but the commitment of Faulk shows that Mike Norvell and Co still have what it takes to compete with national powers on the recruiting trail. Next, the duo give their thoughts on Keldric Faulk as a prospect. They discuss his highlight tape and the athleticism he displays by playing both defensive end and wide receiver while also playing basketball. Finally, the hosts begin their discussion on conference realignment. There is a lot of chatter among the FSU fanbase about Florida State going to the SEC. However, Max and Drake think the Big 10 would make more sense. Should social media content creation be part of K-12 education? Yes, but the answer is more complex than that…    In this episode of the Fueling Creativity in Education podcast, Dr. Cyndi Burnett and Dr. Matthew Worwood speak with Carrington Faulk, a high school marketing teacher, Google for Education Certified Trainer, and Founder of ‘skilltivity.', an online education platform that seeks to advance your creative thinking skills. Carrington enjoys educating learners of all ages on how to master subjects in the realm of creativity, technology, leadership, marketing, and innovation.   Tune in to learn why video is such a popular medium for creative expression and how YouTube and TikTok play a powerful role in educating students and connecting them with the world. You'll also learn the benefits and concerns of integrating video production and social media content creation in the classroom.   “I've never seen this many students want to be YouTubers in my life than they do right now. But the big thing that I try to tell them is it's not what the popular platform [is] now, I tell them to think about what's going to be popular later and what's up and coming.” – Carrington Faulk   Carrington shares the tech tools and activities he uses to spark creativity in the classroom along with the real-life opportunities (and dangers) of encouraging kids to use social media to express their creativity. He also sheds light on the importance of teaching students about modern marketing, future trends, the metaverse, and creative leadership.    Plus… Carrington breaks down his strategy for facilitating the “question-asking” and critical thinking/reflection parts of the creative process, as well as how his personal creativity in music inspires his students' creativity in the classroom.   “If we aren't being creative leaders in the classroom, then  we will get left behind as educators.” – Carrington Faulk   Carrington's Tips for Teachers and Parents: Everyone needs to ask more questions.  We are in the 4th Industrial Revolution, a workforce where AI and automation is changing the landscape of work every single day. So, students need to understand that the jobs and opportunities they see today may not be the ones they see in the future. What was it like having a chronic illness at work before the ADA or insurance portability/insurance for preexisting conditions? As her symptoms worsened, she contacted an insurance company for a quote about what it would cost to privately cover herself. She was told she was uninsurable. If she could find insurance (it was the late 80s) she was told it would cost $10-15k/month. There was no coverage for preexisting conditions. She felt stuck – unable to be honest about her health at work. If she was to tell someone, they might to theorize about your “fitness” for work every time you're out for a day. Eight years later, new and worsening symptoms led to another hospital stay and then her parents came to visit, but yet she still didn't tell them what was happening with your health. Again, not wanting them to worry. We often believe we're protecting others by not saying what's true for us. Realizing that things have changed dramatically and for the worse, she is at the point of needing to accept her MS diagnosis. What advice would does she have for someone struggling with this reality? She asserts that our fear of failure often keeps us from acceptance. She talks about making the break from work, and what it felt like to leave that world and apply for Social Security benefits. Join us tomorrow for the conclusion of this interview. I'm Annette Leonard, speaker, coach, and sick person who believes that my illnesses do not define me. Arlene writes about her journey with MS and discovering the healing power of tai chi in her powerful new memoir Walking on Pins and Needles. In this episode we start back at the beginning of your symptoms, the first day of a rigorous management training program when she is just 22 years old. Under a tremendous amount of stress, she started to feel numbness and tingling in her legs. What was happening? What was she feeling? As she tells her story, it's clear she puts a lot of emphasis on not wanting to let others down. Where did that come from? These symptoms coincided with the birth of her first niece, yet she chose not to disclose anything about what was happening to her – why did she make that decision? As she went through her first, difficult round of treatment, her brother tells her to “let her body be her guide.” How did that advice land? Join us tomorrow for part two of this interview. I'm Annette Leonard, speaker, coach, and sick person who believes that my illnesses do not define me. As she began to do tai chi she found that she didn't recover, but started to feel “less” of something. She documented that process. In so doing she found that recovery can be subtractive rather than additive. With a father and brother who are both physicians, Arlene, did have some reluctance about meeting with a practitioner of Chinese medicine. However, a friend recommended her highly and eventually, she went on to meet with Nancy, a healer who changed the course of her life. In this case, she took a leap of faith. Arlene talks about how tai chi has benefitted her MS and how stillness can help transform our thoughts. She also discusses how, as a teacher, she's seen others with arthritis, fibromyalgia, spinal stenosis, etc. shift their mobility and experience of pain. She calls tai chi “moving medication,” and it has helped her get off medications and learn how to relax. She emphasizes that this isn't a quick-fix but the long-term benefits are well worth the effort. I'm Annette Leonard, speaker, coach, and sick person who believes that my illnesses do not define me. What was it like to ask for help? Living with daily pain she talks about how that impacted her ability to be close to others and, specifically, how it affected intimacy. Also, during this time, she had to buy her first assistive device, a cane. What was it like to admit that she needed that assistance and begin to start using it in daily life? What did she shop for in her first cane? Join us tomorrow for part three of this interview. I'm Annette Leonard, speaker, coach, and sick person who believes that my illnesses do not define me. Her inspiring story demonstrates how a chronic and debilitating health condition lacks the power to control our lives and stop us from moving in the direction of possibility.   Buy the book: "Walking on Pins and Needles" Learn more about Arlene by visiting her website: https://arlenefaulk.com/about/   Check out her YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/faulktaichi

Jon Yoachim with Vanguard Real Estate on The Loud Spot! It is not every episode that I get to talk business. It is in my soul! And speaking business is almost what I wanted to do before deciding to discuss music on my podcast. Jon Yoachim with Vanguard Real Estate is the real deal. From property acquisition to having a family, this guy knows what it takes to grow a company. A little bit about Jon: Jon has worked in real estate for over 14 years, energy for over 11 years, and agriculture since childhood. Over the past 11 years, Jon worked in more than 25 states and managed the acquisition of more than 2,000 parcels and 400,000 acres. Over the past five years, Jon also worked for the federal government through the Nebraska Natural Resources Conservation Service Office, closing wetland conservation easements across Nebraska. Jon's land acquisition work has paved the way for the development of wind farms, solar farms, cellular towers, as well as the installation of fiber optic cable and power lines. In 2006, Jon graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, earning his Bachelor of Science in Real Estate and Land Use Economics. Jon began cultivating his expertise in land acquisition in 2007 as a Senior Leasing Agent for Hillard Energy in Lincoln, Nebraska. From 2008 to 2016, Jon was Senior Project Manager for Faulk & Foster. In that capacity, Jon managed all aspects of site acquisition for wind, solar, fiber, and telecommunication projects. Jon is also a licensed real estate broker in Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, and Georgia. In 2016, Jon made the decision to focus his full time and energy on building his own land acquisition business – Vanguard. Through Jon's relationship-based approach to business, his dedication to innovation, and his entrepreneurial spirit, Jon grew Vanguard from a one-man shop into a land acquisition company with more than 20 Land Agents working across the United States. Moving into the future, Jon is focused on the continued growth and expansion of Vanguard. In addition to the constant refinement and improvement of land acquisition services for the benefit of Vanguard's clients, Jon is collaborating with investors, farmers, ranchers, conservation entities, and energy companies to invest in agricultural land to maximize its revenue potential. www.theloudspot.net patreon.com/theloudspot https://vresolutions.com/team/jon-yoachim/ Learn more about your ad choices.
