In this episode of the Captain Paul Watson Foundation Podcast, we catch up with Captain Locky MacLean. Locky gives us an update on Paul's quest for freedom. Unfortunately at the last hearing on August 15th, the judge in Greenland chose to keep Paul in detention longer while the Danish Minister of Justice considers Japan's extradition request. Locky makes the point that while Paul sits in a prison in Nuuk, Greenland, the Japanese whalers are out in the Pacific ocean killing fin whales and searching for new waters to kill more. We need to get Paul freed so that he and his crew can stop Japan from killing more whales. Support the Show.https://www.paulwatsonfoundation.org/https://shop.paulwatson.com/
Denmark, like the rest of Scandinavia, is a nation at the forefront of the transition to electrification and e-mobility in Europe and the world. From public transport fleets to taxation plans for CO2, for years, Denmark has been implementing an extensive list of policies that promote an electric and sustainable lifestyle from the top down. Different departments and leaders in Denmark have taken decisions to put the country in the place it is right now. One of these leaders in the race to net zero is our guest of the day - Benny Engelbrecht, Denmark's former Minister of Transport.Benny has been in the room, leading and making these decisions. He talks to us about the taxation strategy and structures he put in place to push Danes towards EVs, why Elon Musk is the last person that should complain about government incentives, why Chinese batteries are not actually sustainable and what Europe should do about it. And a whole lot more.

We discuss some of the factors that motivated her career in politics and some memorable milestones. Minister Tørnæs notes that a key priority for her ministry is to express the voice of the millions of women and girls around the world who are either not able to express their voice, or enjoy equal rights and opportunities for equitable economic participation. We highlight aspects of the World Bank’s We-Fi initiative to facilitate access to capital for female entrepreneurs. We also discuss the SheDecides movement, which aims to mobilise a strong political voice for women to have access to family planning and contraception facilities, and have the ability to make their own decisions about their reproductive rights.
