Musician and author Felix White discusses The Beatles' 1968 Esher Demos, with Chris Shaw.
Do YOU know what the Esher Demos are? Step up your "cool factor" as Jude and Lanea break it down for you! As usual, The Beatles were influential in everything they created. In the Esher Demos, they invented a technique which MTV developed into a cultural coup. Four incredible songs will be dissected and analyzed for your listening enjoyment! www.johnlennonseries.com www.laneastagg.com

Part three of the WTWF look at the White Album Super Deluxe edition. This week, the Esher Demos and the Blu-Ray. Although the Esher tapes have been available in one form or another for over 25 years (from both legal and "import" sources), but never in stereo, in this quality or from the original source tape. Among the goodies on the blu-ray disc, we talk a little bit about the mono, some on the PCM stereo and a fair bit on the surround 5.1 mix.
In the first of what will be a series of shows originating from the White Album symposium held at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey, I am presenting my opening remarks, followed by a brief Q&A. For those who couldn’t attend, it gives you a good flavor of how these events go down. Asked to present on the Kinfauns recordings, newly remastered and issued as part of the 50th anniversary White Album package, I opted to offer my take on what the recording of these songs meant to The Beatles, as a way of getting back to where they once belonged. Special thanks to Ben Rowling for capturing this field recording and to Dr. Kenneth Womack for making the event possible. The post 150: Behind The Esher Demos appeared first on Something About The Beatles.

We discuss the tremendous six-CD/Blu-ray box set out now for the 50th anniversary of The Beatles (The White Album). We talk about the book, the CDs, the wonderful Esher Demos, as well as the look into the White Album sessions. A must have! Enjoy and feel free to write us at ivegotabeatlespodcast@hotmail.com.
A remixed White Album, the complete stereo Esher Demos, a wide array of high-quality, previously unheard outtakes… and the album in 5.1 surround. Need we say more? Actually, we do, according this historic release the attention and analysis it so richly deserves. Featured tracks: Helter Skelter (Second Version – take 17) Yer Blues While My Guitar Gently Weeps Blue Moon (Studio Jam) (You’re So Square) Baby I Don’t Care (Studio Jam) Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey (Unnunbered Rehearsal) Revolution 1 (Take 18) Good Night (Take 10 with a guitar part from Take 7) Honey Pie (Instrumental Backing Track) Dear Prudence (Esher Demo/Vocal, Guitar and Drums) Let It Be (Unnumbered Rehearsal) I’m So Tired (Take 14) Sour Milk Sear (Esher Demo)
Playliste:1.Back in the USSR (Esher Demo)2.
