We begin a new Wednesday Night Series. Building Our Foundations, a verse by verse study through the Book of Ezra Chapter 4 verses 6-24 Faithfulness Doesn't Drive Away Opposition The Book of Ezra is a book in the Old Testament of the Bible, traditionally attributed to the prophet Ezra. It chronicles the return of the Jewish people from Babylonian exile and the rebuilding of the Jerusalem Temple, focusing on the religious and political restoration of the Jewish community. The Book of Ezra provides a powerful metaphor for building foundations—both literally and spiritually. The rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem serves as a symbol of the restoration of the people's relationship with God, as well as the re-establishment of their faith and community after the Babylonian exile. When considering how this pertains to building our own foundations, there are several lessons and parallels that can be drawn. Why did Ezra call for fasting before making the journey? At New Promise Church you will see people of all ages, from a variety of backgrounds, and at different stages of their spiritual journey. We desire to draw closer to Jesus by understanding who He is and what He has done for us.
Zerubbabel and Jeshua set up the alter, long before the corner stone is placed for the temple. When the alter is set up daily sacrifices, celebrations, and free will offerings are now starting up again. The people begin to worship before a temple is in place. We must learn that we worship at our alters every day, no matter what we make our alters too. Do we worship at the alter of netflix, movies, sports, food, comfort, money? We have many alters. Then the cornerstone is laid at the place of the temple, and something incredible happens, the people shout! Some groan, and cry, and some shout for joy. Worship always evokes a reaction! Click the link as we study Ezra together!
Opposition Strikes: The Hidden Battle in Ezra Chapter 4 In Ezra Chapter 4, the Israelites face a fierce and unexpected enemy—opposition. But why does this opposition come, and what can we learn from their response? Discover the untold story of spiritual resilience in the face of resistance and how it applies to your walk with God today!
