Husband and Wife are two non-believers who have always wanted to read the Bible. Why would we subject ourselves to this you might ask? From our perspective it helps us understand where the Christians around us, here in the Midwest, are coming from when they quote the Bible at us. Husband is basically an Atheist and wife leans Agnostic but mostly Atheist and we're just having some fun at the Bible's expense while learning more about what our neighbors claim we're going to hell over. Spoiler alert: Daniel didn't actually write this book, and it wasn't penned in real-time. We're not just talking about your run-of-the-mill conservative agenda here; this is a full-frontal assault on democracy, diversity, and basic human decency. We dissect the origins of Project 2025, tracing its roots to the Heritage Foundation, a shadowy cabal of wealthy donors and corporate overlords with a penchant for dismantling regulations and pushing their far-right agenda. We expose their anti-woke, anti-LGBTQ+, and anti-climate change stances, and reveal how they've been quietly influencing policy for decades. But the real kicker? This project isn't just about rolling back progress; it's about consolidating power in the hands of a select few, stripping away civil service protections, and potentially even amending the Constitution to cement their authority. We dove into the final chapters of this fever dream, where God morphed into a celestial real estate agent, divvying up land like candy, and Ezekiel unveiled his architectural masterpiece: a temple city so convoluted it would make even M.C. Escher scratch his head.We questioned the necessity of 12 gates in a utopia (seriously, who needs that many entrances?), pondered the political motivations behind Ezekiel's land allocations (Zadokite privilege, anyone?), and even debated the authenticity of the book's authorship (spoiler alert: we think some shady ghostwriters were involved). But wait, there's more! While the Bible claims God is truthful, the hosts point out instances where his actions and words don't align. Is God merciful? Despite verses proclaiming God's mercy, his commands for genocide and destruction paint a different picture. Are we punished for the sins of others? Ezekiel presents a new concept of individual accountability, but other biblical passages contradict this.Does God repent? The Bible claims God doesn't repent, yet it describes instances where he changes his mind or regrets his actions. Can God be seen? While the Bible forbids seeing God and living, it also recounts instances where people saw him face-to-face.Join the hosts as they dissect these contradictions and more, with a healthy dose of sarcasm and skepticism.
