Story of the Week (DR):L3Harris ousts CEO after investigation into conduct MML3Harris Technologies, the company that overhauled a Qatari plane now used as Air Force One, has replaced Christopher Kubasik as chairman and chief executive after an investigation determined he violated the defense contractor's code of conduct.Kubasik's alleged conduct didn't involve and has no impact on the Melbourne, Fla., company's financial reporting, controls, customer relationships or operational performance, L3Harris said Monday.The company didn't give details on when it received a report of the potential violation. With the aid of independent counsel, the board determined that Kubasik's removal would be in the company's best interest, L3Harris said. CELÝ ROZHOVOR V DÉLCE 70 MIN. JEN NA ⁠HTTPS://HEROHERO.CO/CESTMIR⁠⁠⁠⁠ A ⁠HTTPS://FORENDORS.CZ/CESTMIR „Když člověk se zvířaty žije víc, připravuje ho to i na vlastní smrt. A pochopí, že to prostě jinak neskončí,“ říká herec Václav Vydra. Jen několik dní před rozhovorem mu zemřel kůň, kterého měl 24 let. Se ztrátami zvířat se během života potkal mnohokrát a přemýšlení o jejich smrti podle něj mění i vztah člověka k vlastnímu konci: „Jak hezké je žít, tak by mohlo být hezké rychle odejít. Prostě spadne opona.“ Sám ale chce hrát tak dlouho, jak to půjde. „Když se ten motor vypne, tak vlastně ten člověk začne chřadnout,“ dodává k tomu, že herectví vnímá jako poslání, které se má „dotáhnout až do konce“. Vydra se věnuje také rekonstrukcím historických bitev a právě při nich si podle něj člověk může uvědomit, čím lidstvo už jednou prošlo. „Člověk by si tohle měl uvědomovat a ono se to furt opakuje,“ vysvětluje. Současný svět se mu proto nepozoruje lehce a nemá radost z toho, jakým směrem se vyvíjí. Mluví také o svobodě, osobní odpovědnosti a zbraních, se kterými v 90. letech několik let podnikal a ve sportovní střelbě se dostal až na mistrovství Evropy. Zákaz zbraní považuje za nesmysl, zároveň připouští potřebu regulace a přehledu o tom, kdo je vlastní. Větší problém vidí ve snaze vytvořit společnost, ve které má stát člověka ochránit před každým rizikem. „Nikdo nemůže nikomu zaručit bezpečnost. Uklouznu doma ve vaně, praštím se do hlavy a umřu,“ komentuje herec. Podle Vydry se lidé příliš naučili, že se o ně někdo postará, ale každý by se podle něj měl postarat hlavně sám o sebe. Podobně kriticky mluví i o populismu a rozhodování podle toho, co si právě přeje většina. V herectví dnes Vydra podle svých slov žádné velké nesplněné ambice nemá. Práce má dost a současná role v seriálu Polabí ho baví. Jednu věc ale stále odmítá: konkurzy. „Nenávidím je,“ říká o nich a dodává, že po více než padesáti letech hraní už nechce před režisérem číst několik replik z papíru, aby dokazoval, co umí. Přitom otevřeně mluví o vlastním sebevědomí: „Já nemám úplně nízké sebevědomí,“ přiznává. Zároveň dodává, že na začátku kariéry o něj podle svých slov velmi snadno přišel, když ho jedna z prvních zkušeností v Městských divadlech pražských výrazně srazila. A vrací se i ke Kameňáku, jednomu z nejúspěšnějších a zároveň nejkritizovanějších filmů své kariéry. Když poprvé četl scénář, nevěřil, že ho mají skutečně natáčet. Kritické odsudky ale příliš neřeší. „Lidé jsou různí,“ tvrdí. V rozhovoru dojde i na jednu z největších kontroverzí spojených s jeho péčí o koně, kdy byl Vydra kritizován za způsob, jakým upravuje jejich kopyta. Připouští, že se v něm sám postupně zdokonaloval, ale dál věří, že princip, který prosazuje, je správný. Ještě jednoznačnější je v debatě o hranicích humoru. „Vtip, když je korektní, tak není vtip,“ dodává herec k tomu, že odmítá cenzuru i autocenzuru humoru. Proč má Václav Vydra obavu ze společnosti, která se snaží člověka ochránit před každým rizikem? Co ho život se zvířaty naučil o smrti a proč podle něj lidstvo stále opakuje stejné chyby? Proč po více než padesáti letech odmítá chodit na konkurzy a kde podle něj končí hranice humoru? I o tom je rozhovor s Václavem Vydrou.

De Verenigde Staten en China houden in september een apart topoverleg dat helemaal over kunstmatige intelligentie gaat. De gesprekken komen voort uit de ontmoeting tussen Trump en de Chinese president Xi Jinping afgelopen mei en vinden waarschijnlijk plaats voor het geplande bezoek van Xi aan de VS op 24 september. Ook stelt het Verenigd Koninkrijk voor het eerst een aparte minister voor AI aan. Joe van Burik vertelt erover in deze Tech Update. Volgens vijf bronnen die met Reuters spraken staan de exacte data nog niet vast, en zijn ook de agenda, de locatie en de overige deelnemers nog onderwerp van overleg. De Amerikaanse delegatie wordt geleid door minister van Financiën Scott Bessent, die ook bij de topontmoeting in China in mei aanwezig was. Beide landen wegen af hoe geavanceerde AI-modellen gereguleerd moeten worden, met name modellen die militaire capaciteiten versterken, cyberaanvallen op kritieke infrastructuur mogelijk maken of arbeidsmarkten ontwrichten. Het overleg wordt het eerste officiële AI-gesprek tussen de VS en China onder president Trump. Militaire inzet en juridisch onderzoek naar Chinese modellenOp de agenda staat mogelijk een akkoord over het gebruik van AI, vooral voor militaire doeleinden. Bessent opperde ook of bedrijven die Chinese modellen gebruiken dat aan klanten moeten melden. Verenigd Koninkrijk krijgt eerste minister voor AIDe nieuwe Britse premier Andy Burnham heeft Kanishka Narayan benoemd tot Minister for Artificial Intelligence, een rol die voor het eerst op kabinetsniveau komt. Narayan is sinds 2024 Lid van het Lagerhuis en had het AI-dossier al onder zich als junior minister. O svém mimořádném odkazu nepřemýšlí, těší ho ale, když mu lidé děkují za dětství s Arabelou. Když Rumburaka natáčel, netušil, že seriál jednou uvidí diváci v Peru nebo jiných částech světa. Herectví pro něj dodnes vychází ze stejné dětské fantazie. „Hravost je hrozně důležitá,“ dodává. Vzpomíná na Studio Ypsilon jako na ostrůvek svobody, na improvizaci, z níž vznikaly celé inscenace i na humor, u kterého podle něj publikum okamžitě pozná, jestli funguje. Otevřeně se vrací také ke svým krokům za minulého režimu. Podpis Anticharty zpětně označuje za chybu. „Bezesporu jsem si to uvědomoval, ale zase jsem si říkal, že kdyby to nepodepsala větší skupina lidí, kdo ví, co by bylo s divadlem,“ přiznává s tím, že divadlo, kde tehdy působil, měl velmi rád a jednal proto bezmyšlenkovitě. Lituje také účasti v propagandistickém dílu Majora Zemana o Plastic People, k níž podle svých slov přistoupil bez přečtení celého scénáře. „Naletěl jsem a bylo to mojí vinou,“ dodává. S Oldřichem Kaiserem se podle něj nepotkali náhodou, ale osudově. Přestože jejich spolupráci někdy komplikovaly Kaiserovy problémy, s nikým jiným by na jevišti nebyl raději. Jejich společná chemie se neztratila ani po letech a při novém natáčení improvizovaných Tlučhořových rodinek okamžitě navázali, jako by poslední díl natočili den předtím. Vzpomíná také na vznik představení Ivánku, kamaráde, jehož úspěch nikdo z tvůrců nepředpokládal a vysvětluje, proč může být humor jedním z nejtěžších hereckých žánrů. Lábus zároveň varuje před ztrátou historické paměti a politickým ovládnutím veřejnoprávních médií. Lidé jsou podle něj totálně nepoučitelní, přesto věří, že by se proti zásahu do nezávislosti České televize a Českého rozhlasu ozvali. „Babiš se strašně bojí demonstrací,“ říká o současném premiérovi. Hloupý člověk pro něj přitom nemusí být zlý ani nevzdělaný. Nebezpečným se stává až ve chvíli, kdy začne dělat věci, které ohrožují společnost. Otevřeně o sobě říká, že je egoista a že odpovědnost za rodinu pro něj vždy představovala zátěž. Toho, že zůstal bez vlastní rodiny, však nelituje. Po večerech mezi lidmi se rád vrací do tichého bytu, zároveň ale potřebuje energii divadla a každé představení se snaží odehrát, jako by bylo první. „Teď je teď a teď už zase není teď,“ shrnuje svou životní filozofii. Proč Jiří Lábus chápe lidi, kteří se pod tlakem minulého režimu zachovali špatně? Kde podle něj končí neškodná lidská hloupost a začíná nebezpečí pro celou společnost? Četla složení ingrediencí na krabici od sušenek, aby trénovala mozek. A zlomit se ji snažili přes děti. Novinářka Svobodné Evropy Alsu Kurmaševa strávila dlouhé měsíce v ruské vazbě: „24/7 mě sledovali muži, zavřeli mě do izolované části vazby vedle teroristů a extremistů. Tam byly podmínky nejhorší,“ říká ve Studiu N. Režim ji odsoudil k šesti a půl roku vězení za „šíření nepravdivých informací o ruské armádě“. Do Prahy se mohla vrátit díky mezinárodní výměně vězňů mezi Ruskem a Západem. „První dva měsíce jsem nevěřila, že to přežiju,“ říká Kurmaševa. „Pro lidi ve vazbě je nejhorší myšlenka, že na ně svět zapomene.“ Putinův systém podle ní dělá vše pro to, aby člověk ve vězení přišel o důstojnost. „Bylo to úplné ponížení. Ani ve 21. století nemáte normální záchod nebo teplou vodu. Kamery mě sledovaly, když jsem šla na toaletu, když jsem se převlékala, když jsem spala. Nejhorší ztráta důstojnosti byla, když kontrolovali teplotu vody ve sprchách – naschvál mi pouštěli studenou vodu, když jsem měla šampon ve vlasech,“ popisuje novinářka. V nejhorších chvílích jí pomáhala koncentrace. „Dokázala jsem se hodiny soustředit na jednu tečku na zdi, jenom abych neposlouchala, co se dělo kolem. Viděla jsem kolem sebe hodně násilí. Bylo to pro mě moc těžké, protože jsem s tím nemohla nic dělat. Nemohla jsem to ovlivnit ani pomoct. Radši jsem do toho nešla, abych zachránila sama sebe,“ vypráví. Rusko se podle ní nezmění ani v případě odchodu nebo odstranění Vladimira Putina: „Mnozí říkají, že změna režimu všechno změní. Já to tak nevidím.“ V ruské společnosti podle ní panuje obrovský strach. „Lidé mají obavu říct cokoliv jiného, než co tvrdí oficiální propaganda. Sousedi mají strach sami ze sebe. Rozpadají se rodiny, protože třeba jeden její člen mluví jinak a ostatní se s ním odmítají dál bavit.“ Podle ní nejde jen o politický režim, ale o dlouhodobě budovanou kulturu poslušnosti, která je prorostlá společností. „Děti se oblékají do vojenských maskáčů a myslí si, že budují nový svět. Na školách se učí sestrojovat drony a propaganda je učí, že je to AI, že je to budoucnost. Je to ztracená generace,“ míní Kurmaševa.
