This week I am taking a break from our regular rotation of classic wrestling podcasts to take a look back at one of the worst pro wrestling movies ever: Grunt (1985). This abomination of a film is not only bad by movie standards but is terrible by pro wrestling standards. The film features several pro wrestlers in roles as, well, wrestlers including Adrian Street, Dick Murdoch, Dick "The Destroyer" Beyer (unmasked no less), Chavo Guerrero (as a Georgia babyface), Danny Spivey, Steve DiSalvo, and others. How many times have you wondered, "why hasn't someone made a mocumentary about professional wrestling?"  Wonder no more.  Someone has.   That someone was New World Pictures or, more specifically, Allan Holzman.  Grunt!  The Wrestling Movie follows a documentary crew as they try to uncover what happened to "Mad Dog" Joe DeCurso after a horrible beheading of his opponent in the ring.  Is Joe DeCurso alive?  Will his headless challenger seek a rematch?  Can Exotic Adrian Street rebuild after his studio was destroyed during a heated interview?  And, where does Wally George fit into any of this?   This movie dares to show you the real underbelly of Professional Wrestling.  It also has a lot of wrestling in it so if you're into watching wrestling, this is your jam.

Still on the music scene Channel 5 have a weekly look at the best selling records of the 70s....this week was 1979....it is a fascinating programme which counts down the 30 best sellers and gives the background to the songs with the likes of Brian Ferry,Queen and Michael Jackson who was really good looking back then before he altered his face....not sure why......I've watched the whole series and must applaud Channel 5 for a great programme...and surprisingly enough Bradley Walsh wasn't on it. I recently came across a magazine article about my chance meeting with wrestler Adrian Street which led to me writing and producing two albums of wrestling songs for him.....which involved me going to The States and appearing on TV with him....we became great friends and are still in touch.....the albums have recently been re-released by an American company and can be downloaded from the internet....the songs keep coming back to haunt me...with titles like "Violence is Golden"..."Merchant of Menace" and "I'm In Love With Me"...it is hardly surprising.....I could write a book on my adventures we had in Florida but no-one would believe it. So this week I would like to feature a song which I was told by a major label that the world would never be ready for....they were NOT impressed......it was one I composed for Adrian Street which he used to enter the ring to.....it ended up in a movie called "Grunt-The Wrestling Movie" and also on MTV in the States.....so the song which the world would never be ready for paid off my mortgage......it is entitled "Imagine What I Could Do To You"

I've sent you another classic from the recently re-released Adrian Street album Shake Wrestle and Roll...this one is called Imagine What I Could Do To You....and this is the one he used to enter the ring to....it was featured on videos in the States and ended up in a movie called "Grunt - The Wrestling Movie".....again it's back to haunt me from the 80's. was disgusted with Piers Morgan on the breakfast programme this week...they had a young girl on who had sent her 3 year old to a child minder and the kid came back with her £300 boots (!!) ruined....she then sent a bill to the child minder...it turned out that she had bought the kid 60 pairs of designer shoes...this is all very silly on the face of it but Morgan really launched into the girl and really upset her...reducing her to tears....the girl was obviously a bit misguided but a tsunami of shouted insults was totally unnecessary....what happened to impartiality on so called news programmes?....Morgan is just a revolting bully....I doubt if he would have been so mouthy with a young hard case....Fortunately he is only on three days (which is three too many) and there would be no point complaining as he is so pig ignorant it would be water off a ducks back....let's hope he gets his come/uppance at some stage. The train strike is causing havoc down south....I actually thought that the problem was they were doing away with the guards....but apparently this is not so....it's all about the drivers being in charge of opening and closing the doors...while the guards take care of other things on the train...I really do despair at this country....to disrupt so many people over a squabble between staff and bosses is disgraceful and should be illegal in a public service.....it is just hitting those who are not involved.....there doesn't seem to be a lot of brainpower used...they are like a bunch of schoolkids...holding the paying public to ransom is wrong... I had to laugh when I heard that FIFA are going to increase the number of games in the world cup....I can't imagine why...what a greedy bunch of scroungers they are...it hardly affects us as we are still living in 1966.....but I suppose the sheep will enjoy sitting there and watching games which are nothing to do with them....and what better uses all that extra money could be put to?...but there in no chance....we can't have these chaps surviving without a couple of yatchs....how would they manage? If there's anything I can't stand it's arrogant pompous oafs who seem to think they are above everyone else....and this country seems to have more than its share...this is perfectly illustrated in the film "The Imitation Game" about the guy who broke the German code and helped win the war...but when it was all over he was disgraced by the upper class trash because he was gay...so much so that he committed suicide...and nothing has really changed...we still have the chinless wonders who choke on their posh accents with their noses in the air expecting people to bow and scrape...roll on the revolution.!!!

.In life certain things come back to haunt you….the song I have sent you this week in an example. It is a track off an album I wrote and produced for wrestler Adrian Street back in the 80’s which sold very well along with a few singles I did for him (two of which actually made MTV in the States). The album was called “Shake Wrestle and Roll” and was on vinyl….just when I thought it was safe to go back into the water it has suddenly reared it’s head again….with TWO record companies wanting to re- release it….one company in this country and one in the States. Four of the songs were featured in a film called “Grunt-The Wrestling Movie” which aint bad for something we did in my attic studio..plus the fact that Adrian aint no singer (but don’t tell him I said that) .I must say I was well impressed by the record breaking row across the Atlantic by our wonderful ladies….it really was a fantastic achievement and I can only salute them. I doubt if people realise how violent the sea can get…bad enough on a giant cruise ship…they should be knighted…And hats off to the designer of the boat which withstood everything that was thrown at them. .I’ve just about had enough of Piers Morgan on Breakfast TV….I would watch BBC but they only seems to cover a selection of grave illnesses and health issues…no thanks….so I’m stuck with Piers….when will presenters stop asking stupid questions….for example “How did it feel winning 6 million on the lottery?”….or “How did you feel when you found your house had burned down?”…etc….for heaven’s sake…IT’S OBVIOUS HOW THEY FEEL!!!….and whenever they have a statement from a politician he is always trying to make an argument out of it all….I feel sorry for Susannah Reid who is obviously fed up with him…like the rest of us…..it’s only a shame it wasn’t HIM that Jeremy Clarkson punched….that would have made good viewing. Very sad news about the death of Sir George Martin…I have always admired him and as far as I’m concerned it was because of his musical prowess The Beatles were so successful…which I feel is somewhat overlooked….the success of songs like ”Eleanor Rigby”…”Yesterday”,,,”Please Please Me” and many more were down to him. When a group of guys who don’t read music have a bloke like him on board you can’t lose….he was a genius. .Next week we have “Sport Relief” on ITV….where celebs and sports personalities raise money for charity….I’ve been contacted by the organisers who want to use my song “How To Say Llanfair PG”” in the programme next Friday night….so rock on….simply displays the power of the internet….little did I know that when I came up with the song over a cup of coffee thirty years ago that it would still be popular now. I’ve always said there in no time limit on a song….it finds it’s own way through life.
