Julia Scotti is a comic that happens to be transgender, not a transgender comic, so don't get it twisted. She's no ones novelty act. While gigging with Dean and Harris Stanton in AC, she takes us from humble beginnings onstage as Rick Scotti and shares stories of early shows selling a joke to Rodney Dangerfield as well as doing shows with Eddie Murphy the week before he booked SNL. Rick wound up starting a comedian's union before he quit the business to teach, discover her truth changing genders and finally returning to comedy after a 10 year hiatus, ultimately becoming a quarter finalist on "AMERICA'S GOT TALENT" in 2016. We in the Building!

We talk about how to move on after losing one's guide, as well as how to carry the lessons we've learned forward with us. Additionally, we touch briefly on the car accident that Harris was involved in that left Tracy Morgan and Ardie Fuqua in coma's and Jimmy Mack dead. Harris may have walked away with but a few scratches, but he also has vivid memories of the accident and it's aftermath that have stayed with him. Harris Stanton is a Road Warrior. A Comic's Comic. A Purist and a survivor. He has his ideas on the business of comedy and how it works and doesn't bite his tongue. Dean and Harris discuss their successful weekend gigging at the Denver Improv comedy club, coming out'chea for the weed and how to truly "support" Paris amidst recent tragedies. He also details the truck accident with Wal-Mart that he experienced with Tracy Morgan last year. Oh yeah, and his take on Fart Porn. Harris' future is bright and he'll tell you that "you're not a 'writer' or an 'actor' 'til you have the job". Never let 'em see you sweat. We in the Building, son!
Dean cut his 'fro. Big Jay cut his ponytail. These guys set trends. They don't follow them. The comedy community roasted Big Jay Oakerson recently. Jay cleans up rather nicely and our buddy, Harris Stanton, was on the dais. Dean rode shotgun in Harris' new whip as they headed to the Creek & Cave, in Long Island City. Somehow, Ron Jeremy, Lisa Ann and porn became a prevalent topic that evening as well as for the duration of the entire weekend for Dean. In this episode, Dean shares the 4-1-1 on the roast, not being familiar with adult actresses & a mantra for success courtesy of the Hip Hop Preacher. We in The Building!
Ep.33 with Harris Stanton features beatings, baseball, bookings, babes, booty, being schooled by Patrice O'Neal--and other comics (tust us, he needed it)and being fortunate in the aftermath of last year's car crash with Tracy Morgan, Ardie Fuqua and the late James McNair. The guys also discuss Damon Dash's unconventional business protocol, the end of Roc-A-Fella Records' Dynasty and loyalty in the rap game. They also discuss how people use social media to exploit their own agenda.
