When Dallas calls, the men and women of the Dallas Police Department step forward. They leave behind their families, embrace the unknown, and run toward the moments most people spend their lives hoping to avoid. They do so with courage forged through sacrifice, a commitment tested by every shift, and a promise to protect a city that depends on them. Behind every patrol car, every detective's investigation, every tactical operation, and every specialized unit is a team of professionals whose dedication forms the backbone of one of America's most historic police departments. In this limited series, Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux sits down alongside the officers, investigators, and specialists who answer that call every day. Together, they pull back the curtain on the units, the missions, the challenges, and the victories that define modern policing in Dallas. Through candid conversations and firsthand stories, viewers will experience the people behind the badge and the unwavering commitment that drives them to serve. These are the stories of those who answer when Dallas calls—because protecting Dallas is more than a profession. It is a calling. Today we sit with a representative of the great Mounted Unit, Tracy Morgan.

Dive into their stories, career wisdom, and the power of community and vote for Kathryn for the World Soundtrack Awards.  Kathryn Bostic - Award winning, Emmy nominated (The Supremes at Earl's All You Can Eat; Amy Tan-Unintended Memoir; Toni Morrison-The Pieces I Am) composer and singer-songwriter Kathryn Bostic is known for her original work on film,TV, Broadway and symphonic music. On Broadway, Bostic worked with iconic playwright August Wilson, creating the score for "Gem of the Ocean." She also created the score for the Broadway production "Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo" featuring world renowned actor and comedian Robin Williams. She is a recipient of many awards and fellowships including the prestigious BMI "Streaming Media Award"; Hollywood Music in Media Award for "Best Score TV Streamed Movie"; Society of Composers and Lyricists "Outstanding Music for Independent Feature Film"; African American Film Critics Award for "Best Music in Film"; Sundance Time Warner Fellowship; Sundance Fellowship for Feature Film Scoring; and Sundance Documentary Film Scoring. Bostic served as Vice President for the Alliance of Women Film Composers. She is a member of Television Academy of Arts and Sciences, The Recording Academy, and Bostic is the first African American female composer in the Academy for Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Sharaé Nikai - Against industry odds, Jersey City native Sharaé Nikai wrote, produced, co-directed and starred in her very first feature film, "The Other, Gold." It is a heartfelt dramedy that follows a TV writer living in Little Tokyo as she navigates grief, isolation and the rekindling of a former BFF-ship. Out of 13,016 submissions, TOG was invited to world premiere as one of only 10 films in Tribeca's US Narrative Competition. This acclaim led to Nikai being in consideration for the 2025 Oscars, Spirit Awards and Emmys in the Outstanding Television Movie, Directing & Lead Actress categories. It also makes her the first Black female quadruple threat (sole writer/producer, director & star) to qualify for the Academy Awards with no studio or major production company backing. As a producer, Sharaé secured an exclusive Mental Health Awareness partnership for "The Other, Gold" at FOX-owned Tubi and sponsorship for its launch by Women in Film (WIF) and The Entertainment Community Fund. In March 2026, "The Other, Gold" was released worldwide in celebration of Women's History Month exclusively on Apple TV. In addition to TOG, Nikai appears in numerous ad campaigns, films and TV series including Grey's Anatomy and opposite Alison Brie in Sundance's "Horse Girl" (The DuPlass Bros/Netflix). Currently, she is the 2026 international voice of Nordstrom Rack all while developing her dramedy driven TV/film slate. In her spare time, Sharaé takes serious pride in the accent mark over her "e" and is the reigning (read: self-proclaimed) trap karaoke queen. Marina Franklin host special guests Sharaé Nikai and David Lassiter as they talk about their incredible journey creating "The Other Gold" — a film about friendships' complexities. Watch it now on Apple TV and Tubi! David Lassiter is an American filmmaker, actor, writer, and musician from Jersey City, New Jersey. He co-directed and appeared in the feature film The Other, Gold (2024), which premiered at the Tribeca Festival before streaming on Apple TV+ and Tubi. Before transitioning into filmmaking, Lassiter worked as a fashion model and was signed to Wilhelmina Models, appearing in campaigns and editorial work for brands and publications including Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Vogue, GQ, Banana Republic, Swatch, and Levi's. He later studied acting in New York at HB Studio, Susan Batson Studio, and WB Workshops while appearing in national campaigns for Verizon, Macy's, and American Eagle. Lassiter also collaborated with Viacom on street-interview segments featured on MTV and MTV2. Making Safety Happen with Brian Fielkow

Breakfast Leadership

Episode Overview In this episode, Michael sits down with Brian Fielkow to discuss his new book, Making Safety Happen, and why safety leadership belongs in the boardroom rather than the basement. Brian brings a compelling perspective shaped by his transition from corporate law to executive leadership, and he makes a powerful case for why safety is not a compliance checkbox but a core business principle with measurable impact on profitability, culture, and competitive positioning. Key Takeaways Safety is a C-Suite Imperative. Brian argues that safety must be led from the top of the organization. When it is delegated solely to a safety department, it loses the executive authority needed to drive real cultural and operational change. Safety Drives Business Value. Organizations that embed safety into their culture attract value-aligned customers, improve employee retention, and build a meaningful competitive advantage. Brian draws on Paul O'Neill's transformation of Alcoa as a landmark example of how safety leadership can simultaneously improve human outcomes and business performance. Compliance and Safety Are Not the Same Thing. Using the Tracy Morgan crash as a case study, Brian illustrates how an organization can be fully legally compliant and still be fundamentally unsafe. True safety is about systems and processes, not simply the absence of incidents. Frontline Expertise Is an Untapped Asset. Both Michael and Brian emphasize the value of involving frontline employees in risk assessment and process design. Brian shared how his former logistics company had truck drivers author their own process manual in plain language, dramatically improving comprehension and adherence. Safety and Growth Can Coexist. Organizations do not have to choose between scaling and maintaining a strong safety culture. With the right systems and leadership commitment, safety becomes an accelerant rather than a constraint. About Brian Fielkow Brian Fielkow is a seasoned executive, attorney, and author with deep experience leading organizations where safety is operationally and culturally central. His book, Making Safety Happen, is written for leaders at all levels and covers leadership roles, employee engagement, process implementation, accountability, and organizational resilience. The book is structured to be used as a practical reference, complete with actionable ideas and checklists, rather than a cover-to-cover read. After their Hitchcock episode a few weeks ago, it felt like the perfect time for a rewatch.     Sci-Fi Saturdays -  This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay spotlights his final Sci-Fi Saturdays column covering Tenet by Christopher Nolan. In the article, Jay explores how Nolan uses time inversion, reverse motion, and innovative editing techniques to create an entirely new cinematic language that challenges audiences while still delivering blockbuster spectacle.   Jay also reflects on the incredible run of Sci-Fi Saturdays itself: seven and a half years, 330 articles, and films spanning from 1950 through 2020. Beginning with Rocketship X-M and ending with Tenet, the series celebrated over seven decades of science fiction cinema while examining how the genre reflects humanity, technology, and society.    Jay also highlights his latest MCU Location Scout featuring Daredevil: Born Again and Punisher: One Last Kill. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. This week he's added some new locations from Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.   Enjoy Creature Features!  This week the guys dive into the gloriously gooey world of creature features. Those monster-filled movies that combined horror, comedy, suspense, and pure popcorn fun into the ultimate Saturday afternoon viewing experience. From alien furballs and killer fish to giant worms and demonic little creatures, Jay and Shua revisit the films that introduced many young viewers to horror without completely traumatizing them…well, mostly.   Along the way they discuss why the 1980s and early 1990s became the golden age for lighter horror movies, the importance of practical creature effects, and why these films still remain endlessly rewatchable today. Whether it's giant spiders, Gremlins causing chaos, or mysterious monsters lurking underground, the episode celebrates the fun side of fear and the unforgettable creature classics that still make audiences smile, scream, and laugh all at once.   Which creature are you afraid of?
