There are over 18,000 shipwrecks around the Irish coast. Bill O'Brien has been diving around the coast of Ireland and abroad all his life. He has vast knowledge and experience of many of the shipwrecks around the coast and shares some stories in this episode. During the 1st and 2nd, World Wars German U-boats constantly patrolled the Irish coast hunting for Allied shipping targets. Incredibly Donegal has the largest amount of U-Boats sunk anywhere in the world. Bill has dived these U-Boats and tells us about them. He has also dived the Aud off the Cork coast. The Aud was carrying a cargo of 20,000 rifles, 1,000,000 rounds of ammunition, 10 machine guns, and some explosives. These munitions were to aid the Irish rebels in the planned Rising set for Easter Sunday 23rd April 1916. Rodger Casement procured these arms and ammunition for the proposed 1916 Easter rebellion in Ireland. We hear the story of the Aud and its importance in Irish history. Bill has dived the Auld and tells us what he has seen, found, and more. We also hear great stories from Dublin Bay, Hook Head, Egypt, and many more. Enjoy.

The tapering headland of Hook Head is in the southwestern part of County Wexford, on the southeast coast of Ireland below Dublin. In the fifth century, a monastery was established on the peninsula. According to tradition, the early monks from the monastery erected a beacon that burned fire to warn mariners away from the dangerous rocks on the Hook peninsula. A more substantial lighthouse tower was built around the year 1200. The tower was constructed of local limestone and it stands four stories high with walls up to 13 feet thick. Early drawing of Hook Lighthouse (U.S. Lighthouse Society) The light was automated in 1996 and the last light keepers were removed. The old keepers' houses were turned into a visitor center and the light station was opened to the public in 2001. There's also a café on the site. So… Season 2 of Grumblehammer 1920s never happened. Instead the greater Grumblehammer universe and mythos did. In the years following the Grumblehammer 1920s finale, we began running campaigns in different places and times, largely all fitting into our setting. However, over the years we’ve had ideas for “one-shots” set in the 20s or were involving Dimitri and Jerico. They don’t really have a connective tissue outside of being Grumblehammer 1920s expanded content. At least 1 is already recorded, and we do want to run the others as they fill in little niches of events that we mention or have discussed in the history of the world. These will likely be posted as they are recorded. Please enjoy a One-Shot in Grumblehammer 1920s!The Corbyville Case(September 15th, 1924) “Hook Head, Hook on his Head, now you are dead. Corbyville is a small town just north of Belleville, Ontario. Quiet and serene as it sits by the river. That calm is broken however with the realization that someone, or something, is hunting it’s residents. It killing whole families, seemingly impaling them in the head and leaving the men heartless. A darkness has it hooks imbedded in this little river town.”Cast:Chris - GMAaron - Dimitri GrumblewitzNathan - Jericho Lichthammer

What is your target of financial compensation Expectation $50k - 250k - $1m - $10m …?? You will always find a way to get back to your ‘status quo’. Connected to ‘what you think you are worth’ Think it is fair for you to be compensated. "By hook or by crook" is an English phrase meaning "by any means necessary", suggesting that any means possible should be taken to accomplish a goal. The origin of the phrase is obscure, a commonly repeated suggestion is that it comes from Hook Head in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wexford, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ireland and the nearby village of Crooke, in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterford, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ireland. Another is that it comes from the customs regulating which firewood local people could take from common land ; they were allowed to take any branches that they could reach with a billhook or a shepherd's crook (used to hook sheep)
