https://www.armatusoceanic.com/podcast/018-sound We think of the deep sea as an eerily quiet and spooky place but that isn't completely true, animal communication, seismic activity, human noise and even the sound of rain and waves from 10 km above. We chat with undersea audio expert Dr David Barclay about the fascinating audio properties of the deep ocean. As we are talking audio data on an audio medium, lets have some fun with a game of ‘what can we grenad-hear' where Thom tries to guess the deep-sea sound. We also have deep-sea news: India are developing their own 6 km rated human occupied vehicle (Samudrayaan); genetics links deep-sea shrimp with their planktonic juvenile stages; the HACON project explores the Aurora black smoker field at 4000 m/13,000 ft under the Arctic; we also reveal that a mysterious squid-like creature, was, in fact, a squid. We also discuss communication (through the medium of famous quotes). Are we losing the ability to actually engage and learn things from each other? Are we all just yelling at each other online from our respective teams? Not willing to really listen to the other side but rather ‘own them' and drop the mic. In a pandemic of misinformation where a catchy meme can ruin, or even end, peoples lives do we have a duty to try to engage with people? What about the tole that takes on our own mental health? Don Walsh drops by with some amazing stories from his sub commander days. A life entirely dependent on listening and being quiet. This week on the Sunday Times Politics Weekly with Mike Siluma, our learned panel considers the uncertain future of the DA in the wake of controversial election posters which have caused tensions within the party. Insiders suggest this may be a litmus test for party leader John Steenhuisen's future at the helm of the opposition party. Also on our menu this week will be the pressure piling up on Eastern Cape premier Oscar Mabuyane after the public protector's adverse report on him. The panel considers the effect these allegations could have on President Cyril Ramaphosa's future political career as divisions in the party continue to grow.

The confidence people have in news media is now lower than our confidence in Joe Biden. That's hard to do. After Republicans caved in to raise the debt ceiling, Dem Chuck Schumer took the podium to rip Republicans. Dem Joe Manchin was so upset, he walked out. It's getting wild to be a Democrat. The Urban Meyer video has clearly hurt the Jags coach but now a pair of stories are out about the collateral damage. The woman in the video and the man that released it aren't having a good week either. And if you ever want Vegas to lose... and this is lose big... there's one baseball team that can win it all and cost Vegas millions in losses.
After narrowly avoiding a national debt crisis, lawmakers have agreed to a short-term debt ceiling increase to last until December 2021. The White House is now facing a major confidence issue after many chaotic political battles with few victories for President Biden's agenda. A recent Quinnipiac poll showed the President' approval rating had dropped to 38 percent. Fox News Sunday Anchor Chris Wallace joins to break down exactly why President Biden is losing the approval of many constituents and how the U.S. ended up with a late solution to kick the debt ceiling issue down the road. Later, he describes how disputes between Democratic centrists and progressives threaten to further derail President Biden's agenda and how tribalism has fractured political discourse in America. With the coronavirus continuing to disrupt supply chains and inflation still rising, Americans may want to start planning their holiday shopping earlier than usual this year. But, buyers beware! This year shoppers should expect longer shipping times, fewer items on the shelves, and less discounts. We speak with FOX Business Correspondent Lydia Hu about the supply chain issues we're seeing and if we'll see inflation go down soon. We also speak with Melissa McCollum, owner of Learning Express Toys in Birmingham Alabama on if her store has been impacted from supply chain issues and costs going up. Don't miss the good news with Tonya J. Powers. Plus, commentary by FOX News Legal Analyst Gregg Jarrett.
Joe Biden isn't only being told f**k you with chants nationwide, his approval numbers are now starting to mirror the same sentiment. A new Quinnipiac Poll has his approval rating at just 38%. Plus, as the nation focuses on other issues, the Democrats have moved the radical and transformative HR4 voting bill to the Senate. Passage would spell the end of the Republican party. Finally, a new video was dropped on the Pfizer vaccine by Project Veritas and they continue to sound alarm bells. The Minnesota Vikings have fallen to the Cleveland Browns, 14-7 at U.S. Bank Stadium. It was an anemic offensive effort, with Kirk Cousins struggling almost as much (actually not even close to as much) as the offensive line. The defense got lucky as Baker Mayfield sailed throws, but the offense couldn't seize the several opportunities that the Browns gifted them. Pick your favorite stats. Five 3 & outs? 22 pressures on 40 dropbacks? 16 of those coming with four or fewer pass rushers? The Vikings tried everything, and nothing worked. That is... a whooping. When Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, admitted that he didn't know how he was going to stop Paris Saint-Germain's front three of Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Jr., many dismissed the comment, but as it turns out, he was right. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by James Ridge from the PSG Unrestricted podcast to discuss PSG's 2-0 win over Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League. If you're a PSG supporter, you know it's difficult to find insightful commentary, in English, about PSG, so make sure to give them a follow and subscribe to their podcast. We begin this episode with James sharing his overall thoughts on the win that wasn't as convincing as the scoreline might indicate. PSG was put under pressure by City for most of the night, but as James states, it was a real statement of intent for what is to come throughout the rest of the season. Next, we highlight the midfield trio of Idrissa Gueye, Ander Herrera, and Marco Verratti. They were instrumental in the performance and without their defensive determination, City could have gone on to win this match. Gueye stood out especially with a goal in the eighth minute, but later in the first half, he was on the receiving end of a reckless challenge from Kevin De Bruyne. The City star only received a yellow card for the tackle but we discuss whether he should have been sent off immediately. Moving on from the midfield, we address the performance of PSG's three superstars: Mbappé, Messi, and Neymar. While Messi did score his first goal since arriving from FC Barcelona, the performance from MNM didn't live up to expectations. What changes does Mauricio Pochettino need to make to unlock their potential? Later in the show, we praise PSG's defense, which stood strong against City's waves of attacks, and debate whether or not Gianluigi Donnarumma has won the starting goalkeeper role over Keylor Navas. We wrap up the show by having a laugh at our La Liga friends who had a difficult week in the Champions League and I ask James about how he became a PSG fan and if he's seeing more PSG kits in England. As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. We're also on Discord! BIOGRAPHY Mike Church Biography – “Too Catholic For Satellite Radio” In May of 2015, Chris Ferrara wrote a bio pic essay on a talk-radio host who was then completely unknown to Catholic, talk-radio fans. The Mike Church Interview: A Remarkable Conversion to Tradition Changes the Face of Political Talk Radio Featured Chris wrote of me back then, words that were too kind but serve as a basis for this biography. Indeed, over the past year or so Mike Church has emerged as the only traditionally Catholic conservative in talk radio today, anywhere in the world. And I mean traditional. Not only during my appearances on the show, but now thematically, Mike has turned the longest running political talk show on Sirius Radio into an unabashed presentation of the Social Kingship of Christ, traditional Catholic moral teaching, and even the traditional Latin liturgy as the solution to what is evidently otherwise a terminal civilizational crisis. I have been invited on the show numerous times to defend all of these things explicitly, to speak of the one true Church, and even to call upon conservative Protestants to enter the Church if they are serious about saving our nation and our civilization. From there, on October 26, 2015, my 13 year run on Sirius Satellite Radio came to a close when my contract was not renewed. Chris would follow the above bio with an updated one titled, The Mike Church Show – Too Catholic For Satellite Radio. MIKE CHURCH BIOGRAPHY FACTS Born, February 2nd, New Orleans Begun talk-radio in 1992, WSLA, Slidell LA, I have been off air a total of 7 months since. Launched the Sirius Satellite Radio service as its FIRST – LIVE talk-show on 10 March, 2003. Promoted to Morning Drive on the SiriusXM Patriot Channel, May 2009, the 3rd most listened to show on the platform From July 2007 – present, founded Founding Father Films, wrote, produced, narrated and directed 9, full length audio features, two that made it to DVD! Returned to the Roman Catholic Church's Tridentine Mass and Tradition in 2013. Consecrated to Our Lady via de Montfort's formula in December 2014. I had been planning for SiriusXM to “whack me” since 2012 and had laid the structural groundwork for the next step in my career: launching the Veritas Radio Network and The CRUSADE Channel. On November 1st, 2015, in a video webcast for the press, I announced the VRN and that on November 15th, the Mike Church Show would be silent no more and would return to the air, this time on a platform custom built for LIVE talk radio. Host Ricky Sacks was joined by Co-Host Lee McQueen and returning guests to the Last Word On Spurs in Talia Coren and Harry Brooks to this edition of the Last Word On Spurs. Harry Kane returned to Tottenham action as Dele Alli's early penalty saw them edge past Wolves 1-0, with the hosts once again suffering from a lack of final product. All eyes were on the teamsheet at 1pm, where Nuno Espirito Santo had named Kane on the bench for the first time since his delayed return to Spurs after Euro 2020. The striker's future remains very much undecided with nine days left of the summer transfer window, but came on as a 72nd-minute substitute. The away fans sang 'Harry Kane, he's one of our own' as he replaced Heung-Min Son. Alli's ninth-minute penalty proved to be the decisive goal, the midfielder firing his spot-kick into the bottom corner after he had been brought down by Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa. But Wolves dominated much of the game, spurred on by a boisterous Molineux crowd, and will feel aggrieved to have not been awarded their own penalty soon after as Olivier Skipp bundled Nelson Semedo to the floor. However, as was the story under Nuno last season, Wolves suffered from a lack of final product with Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore both going close in a string of efforts as they lost a second successive game 1-0. Tottenham maintain their perfect start to the new Premier League season, with Hugo Lloris marking his 300th Premier League appearance for Spurs with a clean sheet. #TOTTENHAM #HOTSPUR #TOTTENHAMHOTSPUR #SPURS #COYS #EPL #UECL #EuropaConferenceLeague #CarabaoCup #FACup #손흥민 #HeungMinSon #HarryKane
