The Milwaukee Brewers won the most games this season with their impressive and dynamic play on the field. However, when the Los Angeles Dodgers came to American Family Field two days ago, they arrived with two elite starting pitchers, hoping to shut down the Brew Crew and return to LA in the driver's seat. That is exactly what happened. On this episode of the Baseball Bar-B-Cast, Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman talk about the incredible back-to-back pitching performances from Blake Snell in Game 1 and the complete-game shutout by Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2 that has the Dodgers heading home with a 2-0 NLCS series lead. The guys discuss whether the Brewers can overcome the Dodgers' stellar rotation and force the series to return to Milwaukee before it's too late. Also on this episode, Jake and Jordan dive into the Seattle Mariners taking a 2-0 lead—also on the road—in the ALCS against the Toronto Blue Jays, with the help of some incredibly timely hitting from Jorge Polanco. They preview the upcoming Game 3 and 4 matchups to see if Shane Bieber and Max Scherzer can somehow stop the rolling Mariners from reaching their first World Series in franchise history. Later, the guys recap all the managerial and personnel shifts from around the league.1:54 - The Opener: Dodgers go up 2-021:05 - LA's pitching is the difference26:23 - Mariners take 2-0 lead34:22 - Blue Jays' disappointing offense43:27 - Around The League: Managerial shifts Subscribe to Baseball Bar-B-Cast on your favorite podcast app:

For 59 minutes, Sam Darnold played lights out at quarterback -- up until he drilled a pass into the top of a Bucs helmet and into the intercepting arms of Lavonte David. Up until that point, Darnold had some close calls, but everything had gone the Seahawks way on offense. Defensively, the team was not as lucky. While the 38-35 win was set up from an INT, the previous 35 points were entirely on a sloppy and injury-plagued defensive performance. But they did get one critical stop in the 4th quarter and help the Bucs game in check all day. We talk about where Coach Macdonald may have missed some critical opportunities and how the Seahawks look moving forward after another frustrating home loss. Micah's concluding sermon is a play on his name. Who is like God? Only the LORD passes over the sins of His people, for He is the God of steadfast love. His compassion comes anew so that our sins are cast into the depths of the ocean, and they will never be fished out. He remembers His promise made to our fathers in the faith, and He has kept that promise in the Lord Jesus Christ. Rev. Jacob Heine, pastor at Faith Lutheran Church in Topeka, KS, joins host Rev. Timothy Appel to study Micah 7:18-20. Although the books of these prophets are shorter, the Word of God they preached was important in the years leading up to the coming of the Christ, and that Word remains important for the Church today. Just as we still need to listen to their call to repentance over our idolatry, so we still need to heed their call to trust in the Savior, Jesus. Sharper Iron, hosted by Rev. Timothy Appel, looks at the text of Holy Scripture both in its broad context and its narrow detail, all for the sake of proclaiming Christ crucified and risen for sinners. Two pastors engage with God's Word to sharpen not only their own faith and knowledge, but the faith and knowledge of all who listen. Submit comments or questions to: listener@kfuo.org

On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern Riley Sager are back in studio breaking down another disappointing road performance by this USC football team, falling to Illinois 34-32 in Champaign. The offense turned it over twice, the defense couldn't get a stop and untimely penalties, including one that wiped out a 75-yard touchdown, continue to plague the Trojans who fall to 4-1 on the season, 1-1 in the Big Ten, and out of the AP top-25. Despite all of the sloppy play and miscues, USC miraculously took a 32-31 lead with 1:55 left in the game, the first and only lead for the guys in Cardinal and Gold. Then the Fighting Illini did what they had done all game, moved the ball with ease against the Trojan defense, setting up the game winning 41-yard field goal as time expired. Both Ryan and Connor were in Illinois to witness this debacle and give their thoughts on what went wrong, from Kamari Ramsey getting food poisoning, to center Kilian O'Connor going down with an injury, the defense giving up 503 yards and over 12 yards per pass attempt and everything in between. Rice Football received a rude awakening on Saturday regarding what a fully deployed option offense looks like at the FBS level. The Owls were a ways behind the Midshipmen in every aspect of the game and left Annapolis with plenty of things to work on. The defeat stung, but in hindsight, it's not surprising this young team has plenty of room for growth. In a fiery segment, BT and Sal tore into the Yankees after their latest loss, blaming both a terrible, "Red Sox fan" umpire and the continued struggles of closer Devin Williams. The duo expressed frustration that the team can't get out of its own way, pointing to the bullpen's collapse and the bad luck of the umpires. They also briefly touched on the Mets' situation, with the news that pitching prospect Brandon Sproat is close to being called up, offering a glimmer of hope for a franchise that's also been struggling.

Your favorite shrinks, John Gartner and Harry Segal, present “this week” in Trump's cognitive decline, as well as an extended excerpt of Pritzker's heroic speech pushing back on federal threats to Chicago. While describing this moment in history, the two psychologists offer support and ways to cope with the anxiety Trump's chaos generates for all of us. Be sure to subscribe wherever you get your podcasts: Our site Subscribe on iTunes Subscribe on Spotify Subscribe on Amazon Music Subscribe on iHeartRadio When we revisit Trump's rallies and interviews this week, it feels less like campaign drama and more like a national group therapy session. Gartner and Segal track every rambling detour, abrupt topic shift, and glaring contradiction—not as mere gaffes, but as warning signals that someone at the helm may be losing his cognitive bearings. Every photo-op, from overseas summits to tense showdowns on U.S. streets, has started to resemble a rehearsal for power consolidation. Flashing military muscle instead of engaging in normal governance isn't strength; it's intimidation. Watching constitutional safeguards brushed aside as mere inconveniences ought to jolt us awake to the creeping authoritarian impulse. Amid that growing unease, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker stood up like a lighthouse in a storm. Invoking the Constitution, he called out federal threats to deploy the National Guard in Chicago and reminded everyone that local authority can't be bulldozed for political spectacle. While Trump's allies cheered each flex of force, Pritzker's words made clear that true leadership sometimes means speaking truth to power at the risk of losing applause. Gartner and Segal refuse to leave us adrift in anxiety. They argue that naming these mind games—the gaslighting, the fear-mongering—is our first line of defense. Checking facts in real time, fostering honest conversations with friends, and carving out simple daily rituals can help us stay grounded when the political airwaves feel like a hurricane. Listening to Shrinking Trump isn't just an exercise in critique; it's an invitation to reclaim our narrative. When we spot the cracks in Trump's rhetoric and recognize his power plays for what they are, we protect not only our sanity but the democratic foundations we hold dear. Most makers carry a quiet frustration - they want their work to be lighter, stronger, and more refined, but the materials and methods they've been handed keep them stuck in the old way of doing things. This week we pull back the curtain on GFRC, a material that changes the game for concrete countertops, sinks, and furniture. You'll hear how GFRC stands apart from traditional mixes, why it matters for strength and beauty, and how it frees you from the weight and limitations of standard pours. We'll talk mixing, spraying, fiber, and the myths that keep many craftspeople from unlocking its full potential. At the heart of it, this isn't just about concrete - it's about your story as a maker. When you learn to harness the right materials, you save time, reduce stress, and create pieces that set you apart. That's what every artisan wants: the freedom to create without compromise. And here's the thing - tools like Kodiak Pro products exist to put that freedom in your hands. They're engineered by makers, for makers. The result? Less time fixing problems, more time building the kind of work that carries your name forward. #ConcreteCountertops #MakersMindset #GrowthThroughCraft #ConcreteArtisans #KodiakPro #GFRCConcrete #CraftsmanshipMatters #concretedesign #gfrc

On Tuesday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt seethed at the media for well over a minute for not acknowledging President Trump's world historical peacemaking efforts or his smashing successes in the Russia-Ukraine talks, even though there haven't been any such successes. And she offered a wildly absurd explanation for why European leaders rushed to Washington, D.C. (to prevent the U.S. from selling out Ukraine to Vladimir Putin). This comes as a snew Reuters poll finds Trump's approval rating down to a new low of 40 percent. That's fueled partly by Russia-Ukraine: A striking 54 percent of Americans say Trump is too aligned with Putin. We talked to international relations expert Nicholas Grossman. He explains how Leavitt's spin and European angst show that incredibly high stakes matters are now being dictated by an unnerving combination of Trumpian megalomania, his genuine desire for a future world marked by a weak western alliance and strong autocracies, and his utter indifference to the U.S. public's apparent rejection of that vision.
