Scott Minner was on his way to church when he was hit without warning by a drunk driver. After the collision, the at fault driver fled the scene. He immediately felt pain in both his shoulders, his neck, and his lower back. The shock set in quickly. In the weeks to follow, Scott's shoulder condition worsened and ultimately required surgery and physical therapy. All this came with a long period for recovery that interrupted Scott's day-to-day life as an elementary school teacher. While Scott was forced to take a step back from the classroom, the medical bills and uncertainty surrounding his insurance process mounted. Another attorney recommended Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers to help the Minner's navigate a tough time with expert guidance. Our team stepped in to manage the claims process, coordinate documentation, and deal directly with the insurance companies. Our main goal was assisting Scott in documenting the scope of his injuries, pain, and disruption to his life caused by the wreck.  The case was resolved with a settlement that helped the Minner's get back on their feet after significant medical care and recovery time. Just as importantly, it gave him and his wife peace of mind during a time in life that could have been completely overwhelming. He told us he felt cared for and that justice was served. For us, that is always the goal.ABOUT COOPER HURLEY INJURY LAWYERSCooper Hurley Injury Lawyers helps those injured in car, truck, and motorcycle wrecks or other serious injury and wrongful death cases. From $1,000 to $60,000: Portsmouth Crash Victim Gets Full Recovery

After the Accident

After being hurt in a major car accident, a Portsmouth woman tried handling her insurance claim on her own, like many people do. While she was still recovering and going to treatment, she got a call from her insurance company. They sent her a $1,000 check that she believed was to help with her property damage, so she accepted it. She had no idea the insurance company considered cashing that check to mean she settled her entire claim forever.Thankfully, she contacted us to help her with her personal injury claim. Because our consultations are always free, she had nothing to lose by asking us questions and getting us involved to advocate for her. We immediately took over communication with the insurance company so she could focus on healing while we did the legal work. When the insurance company claimed the case was over, Partner Bill O'Mara refused to back down. He argued there was no enforceable settlement because there had never been a true understanding of what that $1,000 check would resolve. With medical treatment for significant injuries, the bills were adding up. The reality was that $1,000 was not anywhere near what she needed to recover, considering the severity of her injuries. Our team gathered her medical records, documented the full extent of her damages, and fought for the compensation she deserved.Ultimately, we recovered the full $60,000 in available insurance for our client, which is sixty times more than the amount the insurance company initially offered. This case holds an important reminder: before accepting any money or speaking to an insurance company, give us a call. The conversation is free, and understanding your rights before you make a decision can make all the difference.ABOUT COOPER HURLEY INJURY LAWYERSCooper Hurley Injury Lawyers helps those injured in car, truck, and motorcycle wrecks or other serious injury and wrongful death cases. In this college football podcast episode, we finish our three-part preview of the ACC by turning our attention to the defending conference champions and several of the league’s most difficult teams to project. Can Duke keep finding ways to win after another major quarterback change? Does Clemson have a real plan for getting back into the College Football Playoff conversation? And can Louisville once again rebuild its offense around a new transfer quarterback without losing ground near the top of the conference? We also dig into James Franklin’s full-scale reboot at Virginia Tech, Ty’s increasingly dangerous belief in NC State, and a pivotal season for Brent Key at Georgia Tech. With new quarterbacks, rebuilt offensive lines, coordinator changes and transfer portal additions everywhere, how much confidence should we place in recognizable coaches and favorable schedules? Plus, we examine why Cal could become one of the most entertaining teams in college football, whether Syracuse can recover with Steve Angeli back under center, and what Bill O’Brien can realistically build at Boston College. Elsewhere, Dan experiments with performance-enhancing inhalers, Ty launches Bros for Brohm, the Calgorithm gains strength, and we issue another annual warning about hiring Ted Roof. In this episode of the Industry Spotlight, joining host Sam D'Arc are Bill O'flanagan, Dealer Principal at Reedman Toll Auto Group, and Todd Kaminski, Head of Direct Markets at Zurich North America to discuss the one interview question that predicts almost everything about whether a new hire will thrive or wash out, and why building a culture of transparency and daily accountability is the real fix for automotive's turnover problem. O'Flanagan shares his go-to interview question, "Who was your best boss and why, and who was your worst boss and why," and explains how the answer tells him everything he needs to know about how someone wants to be managed. He also breaks down why he shares full financial statements with every manager, a move his peers once called "insane," and how a daily 10-minute results call with every manager helped seven of his ten service centers set growth records this year. Kaminski adds a rare outside view from three decades working inside dealerships on why transparency, meritocracy, and recognition are what separate cultures that retain talent from those that don't. This episode of the Car Dealership Guy Podcast is brought to you by Zurich North America. Topics: 00:10 The First Three Hires. 01:20 Why Service Manager Is Toughest. 02:25 The Trial Skill That Wins. 04:20 Why Dealer Is Least Important. 06:30 Why Bill Never Wins Arguments. 08:00 The Finance Director's Warning. 11:30 Dating Vs. Much of Europe still doesn't have widespread air conditioning, which is making the current heat wave especially challenging, something the tri-state area is about to experience as well. CNN has reported that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's poll numbers are slipping, which is a worrying sign for both him and the Democratic Party. In Manhattan yesterday, celebrities gathered to honor legendary record producer Clive Davis at his funeral.  Mark interviews New York Post columnist Michael Goodwin. They discussed what the next two years might look like under Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Michael explained how Mamdani's newly passed rent freeze could pose problems for landlords with empty apartments. Both agreed that voting patterns in New York City and other major cities are starting to shift. The Supreme Court just ruled that states have the right to ban transgender athletes from sports. In addition, President Trump's attempt to overturn E. Jean Carroll's sexual assault and defamation case was rejected. Another ruling permits Trump to fire heads of federal agencies. There's also a billion-dollar mining deal in the works involving Trump and Howard Lutnick's sons, drawing comparisons to Hunter Biden's business activities. That situation could lead to hearings for Trump's circle if Democrats win the midterms. Big changes are underway at MSNOW. Longtime weekend anchor Alex Witt is leaving as the network moves to put more podcasts on the weekend.  Mark interviews streaming host Bill O' Reilly. Bill recaps his latest podcast with Gene Simmons from KISS. He argued that parenting styles could cause a major shift in how Gen Z votes in the future. Bill also questioned whether media influence is partly to blame for more socialist and communist politicians gaining traction, observing that a bigger shift may be underway in American politics.
