Today's guest is Nicole Yade and this episode is about another crisis in Australia - the perpetration of violence, abuse and coercion by men towards women. Nicole is the CEO of the Women's and Girls Emergency Centre - a literal refuge for those getting away from dangerous and hostile home environments in search of support, safety and sanctuary. The statistics and situation for what girls and women experience in their homes from their partners, fathers, brothers and other loved ones is shocking and sickening. In this country 1 in 4 girls and women over 15 have experienced physical and/or sexual violence from an intimate partner. A woman is killed every five days by a partner in this country. And unless it's a very concentrated group of men who are committing this across multiple relationships, it's fair to assume the rate of men perpetrating this violence is high too.I spent six months working on a large corporates domestic violence and financial abuse strategy back in 2018, and to this day remains the most harrowing professional experience that I've had. Nicole does this everyday, as does her team and as do hundreds and thousands of other people - mostly women - to offer the abused and coerced and traumatised support in a society that chronically under funds appropriate responses and simple refuses to undertake common sense and necessary reforms.Just from this one conversation it was entirely apparent how remarkable Nicole is, not only for the work she does, yet that is a large part of it, but for her own story, her own life transitions and the way she has supported those traumatised by violence over her 30 year career. We cover a lot in this conversation, and I think it's essential listening. Women probably don't need to hear much of what Nicole shares here, but men do. I know there a lot of good men out there who listen to this, and my ask with this episode is to get through it despite the awkwardness, the discomfort or because of a ‘it's not me' perpetrating violence. To heal men and to drastically reduce the harms our gender is responsible for, we need you, we need more men to hear Nicole, to hear her story and to take up a baton of responsibility to not just know about the problem but to do something about it in our lives. Responsibility starts and ends with us, each of us everyday. What's been attempted and what governments are offering is inadequate, and I think it's our duty to step up and do more where we can and how we can to make a difference.Support for the show comes from:Reposit Power - get $500 off your installationAltiorem - get 25% off your annual subscription with code findingnature25Jamberoo Mountain Farm Tiny Home - get Hot Tub Sunset Package for free when you add Finding Nature to booking comments.Send me a messageThanks for listening. In this episode of The Addicted Mind, we dive deep into the world of experiential therapy with Steve Buckby, a seasoned therapist with over 50 years of experience. Steve shares his profound insights into the Virginia Satir Model and how its principles of change, the "Mandala," and the "Iceberg" can be powerful tools for those struggling with addiction. We explore the idea of addiction as a "lover" that must be grieved, the necessity of walking through chaos to find a new status quo, and why the relationship between therapist and client is a collaborative journey of human-to-human connection.Key TakeawaysThe Process of Change: Change isn't a straight line; it requires moving from a familiar (even if painful) status quo, through a "foreign element" that sparks chaos, and finally into a new, healthier balance.Addiction as a "Lover": Recovery often involves a grieving process similar to the stages of grief described by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. Letting go of a substance is often like losing a significant, albeit toxic, relationship. The Satir Mandala: Understanding the physical, intellectual, emotional, sensual, interactional, nutritional, contextual, and spiritual dimensions of ourselves to find true balance.Vulnerability & Connection: Addiction thrives in isolation. Healing begins when we take the risk to be "real" and vulnerable within a supportive community or therapeutic relationship.Education as Empowerment: Understanding the physiology of addiction helps separate the person from the "ism," reducing shame and fostering self-forgiveness.Understanding the Satir ModelSteve explains that human beings naturally seek a Status Quo. In addiction, that status quo is the cycle of use. To break it, a "Foreign Element" (a crisis, a choice, or an intervention) must disrupt the system. The Stages of TransformationOld Status QuoThe familiar, predictable way of living (even if dysfunctional). Foreign ElementAn event or realization that makes the old status quo no longer viable.ChaosThe "limbo" period where old patterns don't work and new ones aren't yet formed. Integration Learning new strategies and internalizing resources. New Status Quo A state of higher functioning, self-compassion, and awareness. The "Iceberg Theory"Steve also touches on the Iceberg Theory, which suggests that behavior (the tip of the iceberg) is driven by much deeper levels of feelings, perceptions, expectations, yearnings, and the "Self.""The story is not the problem; the meaning of the story is really important." — Steve BuckbyBy shifting the meaning we give to our past trauma and choices, we can move from shame to positive-directional change.About Our Guest: Steve BuckbySteve Buckby is a certified social worker and licensed professional counselor based in Escanaba, Michigan. Darüber diskutiert Katrin Prähauser diesen Sonntag mit: Veit Dengler, Unternehmer und Neos-Politiker Roger Köppel, Chefredaktor der „Weltwoche“ Andrea Komlosy, Historikerin Oberst Markus Reisner, Militärexperte Learn more about your ad choices. Episode 10 opens in the long-running genre they've accidentally perfected — two grown men versus consumer electronics — as Michael explains how he revived his ageing Samsung “smart TV” (now “a bit of a nuff-nuff”) with a cheap HDMI streaming box bought from an Australian online retailer that “rhymes with Hogan”. The thrill here isn't just 4K; it's the moral victory of upgrading the brain while keeping the body. The upgraded TV then becomes a portal to two YouTube documentaries that send the pair (and us) into a warmly nostalgic British lane. One is an ARTE doc on Madness — “Princes of Ska” — which prompts Michael to re-fall in love with a band he rates as not just a ska novelty act, but an elite singles machine whose later pop craftsmanship deserves more credit than the pigeonhole allows. The other find is the real rabbit hole: John Peel's Record Box — an hour built around the late BBC DJ's stash of 142 singles kept separate from his famously vast collection (more than 100,000 records). The documentary hauls the box around to fellow travellers and famous fans — Jack White, Elton John, others — letting them rummage, remember and speculate on why those particular records were kept close. Peel, it turns out, could contain multitudes: Sheena Easton's “9 to 5”, some Status Quo, a heavy White Stripes presence… and a special extra shrine for The Fall, who were apparently too important even for the box. Then Brian takes the wheel for the episode's marquee music moment: Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde turns 60, marked with a concert at Tulsa's legendary Cain's Ballroom, presented by the Bob Dylan Center (sitting right next to the Woody Guthrie Center, because Tulsa is quietly running a curriculum). Brian's spoken with the Center's director, Steve Jenkins, who teases an event titled Sooner or Later with a lineup that reads like an alternate-universe festival poster: Naturally, they can't leave the album itself alone. They circle around what makes Blonde on Blonde such a gravitational object: the New York-to-Nashville recording shift, Al Kooper and Robbie Robertson in tow, and the snap-in brilliance of Nashville players like Charlie McCoy and Joe South. Michael calls it the culmination of Dylan's ridiculous 18-month streak from Bringing It All Back Home through Highway 61 Revisited to Blonde on Blonde — productivity that makes modern “content schedules” look like a wellness day. Song picks follow: Michael is unwavering on “Visions of Johanna”; Brian leans toward “Most Likely You Go Your Way (And I'll Go Mine)”, while also marvelling that Dylan had “Positively 4th Street” sitting on the bench, unused, like a spare masterpiece. There are lighter detours too: a surprisingly vivid discussion of a film built around stand-up comedy as therapy (Will Arnett, Laura Dern, John Bishop's life story, Bradley Cooper popping up in a minor role because he can), and then Brian's recommendation of Mackenzie Crook's Small Prophets — a title that briefly defeats Michael because he searches the wrong spelling and finds financial advice instead. Once located, it lands hard: whimsy, sadness, small acts, and a specific episode-four moment that gets Brian teary without him wanting to spoil why. Michael flags the return of Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, apparently digging deep into the back catalogue (with a Guardian five-star review from Toowoomba), plus the pair's Grateful Dead-adjacent moves and upcoming US tribute tour. They also talk up Robert Finley, the 71-year-old, legally blind Louisiana singer with the late-blooming career arc (carpenter most of his life, first records in his 60s, produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys), heading to Australia in May for intimate shows. Finley's story lands like a parable for anyone who's ever thought they missed their chance. (Michael, who's finishing his own record — under the gloriously self-aware pseudonym Imposter Syndrome, album titled Oversharing with Strangers — certainly hears it that way.) Episode 10, then, is classic On The Record: a podcast held together by cable management, cultural memory, and the belief that the best stories are found when you stop pretending you have a plan. Was genau steckt dahinter? John Coghlan is one of British rock's most instantly recognisable drummers — a powerhouse player whose relentless, no-nonsense beat helped define the sound and success of Status Quo, one of the UK's most enduring and best-loved rock bands. As a founding member, John was there at the very beginning, helping to shape a career that would span decades, rack up millions of record sales, and soundtrack generations of fans.Born in London in 1946, John Coghlan's musical journey began early. Like many drummers of his era, he was drawn to rhythm and energy rather than flashy technique, developing a style that was solid, driving and unmistakably his own. In the mid-'60s, he joined forces with Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster, forming a band initially known as The Scorpions, later Traffic Jam, and eventually Status Quo. From the outset, Coghlan's drumming was the engine room — dependable, muscular, and perfectly suited to the band's evolving sound.Status Quo first found chart success in the late '60s with their psychedelic hit “Pictures of Matchstick Men,” but it was in the early '70s that the band truly hit its stride. As Quo pivoted towards a heavier, boogie-driven rock style, John Coghlan's role became even more central. His straight-ahead, four-on-the-floor approach powered classic albums such as “Piledriver,” “Hello!,” “On the Level,” and “Blue for You.” Songs like “Caroline,” “Down Down,” “Whatever You Want,” and “Rockin' All Over the World” simply wouldn't work without that relentless Coghlan groove. What set John Coghlan apart wasn't technical showmanship, but feel. He understood exactly what Status Quo needed — a beat you could march to, drive to, and lose yourself in. His drumming became a signature part of the band's identity, locking in tightly with bassist Alan Lancaster and giving Rossi and Rick Parfitt the perfect platform to do what they did best. In an era full of increasingly complex rock drummers, Coghlan proved that simplicity, when done right, could be just as powerful. After more than a decade of non-stop touring, recording and chart success, John Coghlan left Status Quo in '81. The decision came after years of intense work and personal pressures, marking the end of an era for the band and its fans. However, his departure was far from the end of his musical story. Coghlan remained deeply connected to music, carving out a respected second chapter as a live performer and bandleader. In the years that followed, he formed John Coghlan's Quo, later known as John Coghlan's Status Quo, a band dedicated to celebrating the classic Quo sound. Fronting the group from behind the drum kit, John brought authenticity and first-hand experience to audiences around the world, performing the songs he helped create with the same energy and conviction that made them famous in the first place. For fans of early Status Quo, these shows became a chance to reconnect with the raw, boogie-rock spirit of the band's golden years.Beyond the stage, John Coghlan has also been open and candid about the realities of life in rock and roll. His autobiography, “Spud – From the Hood to the Good Life,” offers a refreshingly honest account of fame, friendship, excess, and survival in the music industry. It's a story filled with humour, grit and reflection, shedding light on both the highs of global success and the personal challenges that came with it.Today, John Coghlan is widely recognised as a foundational figure in British rock history. His influence lives on not only through Status Quo's vast catalogue but also through generations of drummers inspired by his commitment to groove over gloss. He represents a time when rock music was built on stamina, sweat and connection with an audience — night after night, song after song. For fans of Status Quo, classic rock, and the musicians who kept it real, John Coghlan remains exactly what he's always been: the beating heart behind one of the most reliable rock rhythms the UK has ever produced.
Deine Mannschaft muss nämlich verstehen, was erreicht werden soll. Jeder Mitarbeiter berichtet kurz: Was sind meine Prioritäten heute? Was will ich erreichen? Pipeline-Check: Was ist neu, was ist rausgefallen? Was kommt wirklich rein? Was ist unser Pitch? Wie behandeln wir Einwände? Erstelle deshalb Playbooks. In this episode, Vince talks with Ray Huang, VP of Marketing at Canopy Connect, about category creation, defining new market language, and building momentum around immaterial but critical processes like insurance intake. Ray explains how Canopy Connect simplifies insurance data intake, why establishing clear terminology matters for both customers and competitors, and the strategic mindset behind positioning a company in a nascent category. They also discuss the parallels between category creation in insurance tech and other emerging spaces like branded podcasting — where messaging confusion creates drag on adoption. A rich conversation for founders, marketers, and builders thinking about how to make people understand what they do, not just like it.Guest BioRay Huang is Vice President of Marketing at Canopy Connect, an insurtech company focused on streamlining the insurance intake experience for agencies and customers alike. With years of startup experience and a deep understanding of what makes category positioning resonate, Ray leads Go‑to‑Market strategy, messaging, and the effort to define an emerging space in insurance technology that didn't have a name — until now.TakeawaysProblem first, product second: The best solutions solve real, felt pain — not imagined ones. Canopy Connect emerged from an actual agent's nightmare intake process.Category creation matters: Giving a name to the task you solve (insurance intake) helps customers articulate what you do — and increases adoption and advocacy.Terminology influences adoption: When competitors start using your category language, it validates that the category has traction.Competition is healthy: You want alternatives in the category because it proves market demand — not that you're alone.Naming matters: Clear, concrete terms (“insurance intake platform”) outperform fuzzy marketer language that sounds cool but doesn't convey meaning.Category leadership strategy: You don't have to be the only player — just the one that sets the rules and becomes the default first choice.Clear messaging accelerates growth: Shared language helps SEO, sales conversations, customer success, and overall brand momentum.Chapters00:00 – Welcome & Introduction to Ray Huang 00:23 – What Canopy Connect Does 01:00 – The Problem of Insurance Intake 03:10 – Origin Story: How Canopy Connect Started 04:49 – Scaling Connections: From 30 to 300 Carriers 06:06 – Category Challenges & Messaging 06:22 – Defining a New Category: “Insurance Intake” 08:48 – Borrowing Language & Building Terminology 10:07 – Framing Alternatives and Competitive Landscape 11:14 – Why “Fluffy” Category Names Fail 12:00 – Competitors & The Status Quo as Alternatives 14:47 – Rules of Category Positioning 15:16 – The Realities of Buyer Evaluation 17:23 – Market Reaction & Terminology Adoption 18:50 – Competitive Structures (CRM Analogy) 20:31 – Importance of Shared Terminology 21:38 – How to Connect With RayLinkedInConnect with Ray HuangFuture Fuzz Host – Vince Quinn
Du wirst unabhängig, egal was andere sagen. Ein Beispiel: Du rufst im Restaurant an. „Tut uns leid, wir sind komplett ausgebucht." Die meisten sagen: „Ah, okay." Weißt du, was ich mache? Frage dich: Mit welchen Menschen umgibst du dich täglich? Danke, dass du bis hierher gelesen hast. Danke fürs Teilen. #StatusQuo #Mindset #Lösungen #Veränderung #Erfolg #Persönlichkeitsentwicklung #Unternehmerdenken #Ernstcrameri Hier findest du eine Übersicht aller aktuellen Seminare https://crameri.de/Seminare Bild: 7. Episode 312 of The Business Development Podcast features a practical and candid conversation with Gordon Sheppard, CEO of Executive Wins, about what really holds teams and organizations back from growth. Drawing on more than 25 years of executive coaching experience, Gordon shares what happens behind the scenes when businesses stall, leaders feel overwhelmed, and execution breaks down. Instead of chasing strategy or quick fixes, he explains why structure, accountability, and difficult conversations are often the true levers that create lasting change.Together, Kelly and Gordon dig into the habits of high-performing leaders, how to build teams that actually execute without constant supervision, and the simple but powerful questions every CEO should be asking themselves. This episode is a grounded, no-nonsense look at leadership in the real world, offering clear insights for founders and operators who want fewer fires, stronger teams, and consistent, scalable wins.Check out Executive Wins: https://executivewins.com/Check out The Executive Wins Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/1P1NEQVF744tV6xEjm5vRCKey Takeaways: Strategy rarely breaks businesses. Poor execution does. Most growth problems are alignment and accountability issues, not planning issues. Leaders often hold onto too much. If everything funnels through you, your team isn't built to scale without you.Hard conversations are not optional. Avoiding them quietly compounds dysfunction inside teams.Behavior change beats theory. Real leadership impact happens when people change what they do, not just what they know.Status quo is usually the hidden decision. If nothing changes after the meeting, you've already chosen comfort over growth.Great coaches and leaders ask better questions, not give better answers. The right question creates clarity faster than advice.Psychological safety unlocks performance. Mindy Diamond on Independence: A Podcast for Financial Advisors Considering Change
With Jason Wenk—Founder and CEO, Altruist Overview A candid conversation on rethinking custody from the ground up—and why simplification, aligned economics, and integrated technology are becoming critical for advisors building modern, scalable firms. Listen in… > Download a transcript of this episode… NOTE: The views and opinions expressed by the guests on this podcast are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of Diamond Consultants. Neither Diamond Consultants nor the guests on this podcast are compensated in any way for their participation. About this episode… For decades, advisors have built their businesses on custodial infrastructure that was never designed to support how modern firms actually operate. In many cases, fragmented technology stacks, paper-heavy processes, and economic factors often benefit the platform more than the advisor or client. Jason Wenk saw that firsthand. Before launching Altruist, Jason built and scaled FormulaFolios from zero to over $4B in assets—giving him a front-row seat to what works, what breaks, and where traditional custody and technology create friction as firms grow. Rather than layering another tool on top of an already complex system, Jason made a far more ambitious bet: to rebuild custody, technology, and economics from the ground up as a single, fully integrated platform. In this conversation with host Louis Diamond, Jason pulls back the curtain on what it really takes to build a next-generation custodian, including: The myths around custody and brand—and why the next wave of growth may belong to firms willing to rethink the infrastructure they build on. Challenging long-standing assumptions around custody—and why Altruist built a vertically integrated solution from the ground up. The advantages of vertical integration—and why simplification, automation, and aligned economics are becoming essential to advisor growth. The real cost of complexity—and why so many advisors and business owners underestimate it. The value of AI and automation—and how Jason sees it will reshape the next-generation RIA. It's a thoughtful, candid look at the future of custody and what it means for advisors who want to build scalable, modern businesses. Send us a textIt's Therapy Thursday!!What if the most powerful thing you did this year was stop trying to be “soft enough” and started speaking with clean, direct honesty? That's the energy we bring to a wide-ranging conversation with Lani Gonzales—former attorney turned hypnotherapist—on women's intuition, subconscious healing, and boundaries that actually hold.We trace Lani's journey from high-achiever to embodied guide, and unpack a big mental health insight: talk therapy helps us name and cope, while hypnotherapy can locate root causes and rewrite the story beneath the surface. Lani breaks down the difference between meditation's awareness and hypnosis's agenda, and explains why not every nervous system needs the same approach. You'll hear why some clients need activation before calm, how self-hypnosis works in daily life, and what changed after decades of cyclical suicidal ideation. We also confront the myth that directness is “masculine.” Confidence is an embodied trait. Through archetypes—queen, warrior, sage, mystic—Lani invites women to claim a fuller range of power, including the season where leadership and wisdom become our primary contribution. Along the way, we talk sisterhood, co-regulation, and why being “triggering” can mean you're modeling what's possible.Practical takeaways land hard and kind: don't rush forgiveness; anger is a teacher of injustice. Use two simple phrases to stop mental gymnastics and invite repair: “That didn't sit well with me” and “Help me understand.” If a line is crossed again, you don't owe a speech—let your exit be the consequence. Emotional maturity doesn't mean feeling less; it means noticing faster and choosing your response with integrity.Lani shares how she works in focused three-session packages with integration homework, plus upcoming retreats and women's groups designed to build resilience, purpose, and conscious business. If you're craving clarity, community, and tools that reach deeper than willpower, this one meets you where you are—and walks with you to where you're going. If this resonated, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs these tools, and leave a review so more women can find this conversation.Lani Gonzales is a clinical hypnotherapist, former attorney, author, and subconscious performance expert who helps high-achieving women and leaders rewire limiting beliefs, regulate their nervous systems, and live more aligned, fulfilled lives. After leaving a 13-year legal career as a law firm partner, Lani now blends neuroscience, subconscious reprogramming, trauma-informed practices, and spirituality to support deep personal transformation. In this episode of Outside The Round, host Matt Burrill chops it up with rising country artist Bryan Andrews, a bold new voice out of Carrollton, Missouri. From his early days welding and dipping Skoal Wintergreen to blowing up on TikTok during the pandemic, Bryan shares his raw, unfiltered journey into country music. But what sets him apart isn't just the music—it's his willingness to speak openly about being a left-leaning artist in a genre dominated by conservative voices. Bryan dives into what it means to challenge the narrative from the inside, how he navigates small-town values with progressive ideals, and why he believes there's more room in country music for open-minded conversation than people think. With plenty of laughs, real talk, and a spotlight on his new single “Grizzly Can,” this one's for anyone who loves country music but doesn't always fit the mold. Every year, 12 million tons of architectural glass from skyscrapers and office buildings ends up in landfills. Even though you diligently put your glass bottles in the recycling bin, only 30% of collected glass actually gets recycled back into glass.Sydney Mainster, VP of Sustainability at The Durst Organization, is on a mission to change that. After watching hundreds of tons of perfectly recyclable glass from a 40-story building go to waste, she pioneered a partnership to recycle skyscraper windows across New York City.In this episode, Sydney and David Entwistle (Director of Major Projects at Saint-Gobain Glass) reveal:- Why glass is the ONLY material recyclers lose money on- The hidden contamination problem that shuts down $40M furnaces- How "sneaky sustainability" is making glass recycling standard practice- Why interior office glass is the secret to scaling this solution- The roadblocks preventing this from going nationalSydney and David are completely reimagining how we handle one of our most valuable building materials.

1. In his message, Tim said, “in the kingdom, the means are the end.” Reflect on this idea for a moment. How do your emotions, and body, and mind respond? Does it resonate? Does it challenge? Hope so?Where are you tempted to let the ends justify the means when it comes to your own private life? What's likely to be really motivating you when you are feeling that temptation? How is this idea different when it comes to the public world around you in which we? Do you respond differently to the idea of “the ends justifying the means” when it comes to community, national, or worldwide events? Why or why not? When it comes to your take on, or engagement with, world events these days, how do you respond to the idea that the means are the end? Do you feel strongly inclined to embrace or reject that idea? Why do you think that is?2. Tim also said that “the kingdom of God doesn't advance through violence, so violence can never topple it.” if the kingdom of God doesn't advance through violence, how does it advance? What has your own life experience taught you about this principle? In your personal relationships, in your job, and your friend groups… Do you see this principal at work? How so?How do you feel about the second half of this statement? Does it feel reassuring? Trite? Overly optimistic? Solid? What experiences have you had in life that shape your response to this idea?3. Tim closed his sermon asking us all a question: “have we joined the resistance? Have you joined the resistance?” What's your answer? If you have answered, yes, share about what that looks like. If you have hesitation about answering “yes,” or simply want to answer “no,” share about why. Why does joining the resistance matter? What does it mean? How does it look for you? How could it look? How are you understanding the idea as joining the resistance being way of following Jesus‘s example? How intuitive does that link seem to you? What questions does it bring to the surface?

Most producers say they want to dominate 2026, yet many are still waiting for permission. Waiting for the “right time” to invest in themselves. Waiting to see if someone else will sign off on it. That mindset quietly keeps people stuck—and it's far more common than most want to admit. In this episode, I sit down with my client and friend, Andy Neary, for an honest, no-fluff conversation about what actually holds high performers back. We talk about why driven professionals often struggle with self-worth, why chasing a “guaranteed ROI” can sabotage momentum, and how confidence isn't something you wait to feel—it's something you build by consistently showing up for yourself. This is a real conversation about responsibility, ownership, and what it takes to stop playing small as the new year approaches.About The Guest: Andy Neary is a speaker, author, podcast host, and coach dedicated to helping professionals build the mindset, habits, and strategies needed to excel in business and life. A former professional baseball player in the Milwaukee Brewers organization, Andy leveraged discipline, unshakeable drive, and consistent daily habits to succeed at the highest level — despite being undersized for his position. Andy Neary - Speaker, Author, ConsultantToday, he applies those same lessons off the field through Complete Game Consulting, a coaching and training company he founded in 2019, where he advises insurance professionals and agencies on mindset, marketing, branding, and performance. The Binding Strategy and Harnessing Resolve: Colleague Elbridge Colby describes the binding strategy that leverages thumos (spiritedness) to force China into a dilemma: accept the status quo or trigger a war that unifies the coalition's resolve, ensuring aggression sparks moral outrage—similar to Pearl Harbor—to catalyze the willpower necessary to defeat a limited attack. 1906 ROAD TO INDIA
