Jerico is more than just a collection of buildings or businesses in the Edison neighborhood. Jerico is an idea and a way of being. Jerico is an invitation for innovators to create together. When an entrepreneur is looking for something that sounds like office space, but feels like community, they are probably looking for Jerico. If you think that this sounds like I am making silly platitudes to sound deep, I think you will understand better by listening to this conversation with one of Jerico's founders, Krystal Gast. The thing is, after talking to Krystal, you feel inspired. The space that her and Jeb have built (with a little help from their friends) is funky and warm and old. It was built with intention, and their intention mixed with hard work has made something really magical.

In Joshua 5-6, Israel' faith and obedience are tested as they face their first obstacle in the promised land, the walled city of Jerico. This story is a great example of God going before us to fight our battles.

As older generations are graduating on to heaven, I find myself wondering if there are things they knew that we don't! Things that may have been common knowledge to them but lost to those who are newer to the faith or simply belong to a younger generation. As I've been working through some material by one of my favorite teachers, (Billye Brim), I realized she was covering this very thing. Her research was taking her back to the ‘old-timers' and their firsthand testimonies in waging warfare against the enemy. While Billie ultimately began a deep dive studying the glory of God, she began to uncover, instead, revelation on something she hadn't been looking for. It really all revolved around the verse I shared two episodes ago: Revelation 12:11.. This is the point I want to pick back up today. Remember, I covered the part about how powerful our testimonies are… and moreso the testimony of Jesus, and what He did for us all! Well theres ANOTHER part that's an even more powerful weapon we can wield in the face of the evil one. Not only could we wield it but we SHOULD. This is the blood of the Lamb. We know that Jesus was the lamb slain and that it's His blood referred to in Revelation. We also know there are types and forerunners of this all throughout the Bible. In old testament times, were the old laws. The temple sacrifices were pure, blemish free animals. The tithes were the first fruits of all that was produced. Each of these things points to Jesus. The old testament also points to the use of the sacrificial blood to atone for sin and to protect against the evil one. For example, the blood on the doorposts of the Israelites in Egypt. The blood was a sign for the angel of death to pass over these homes and spare them the death that was coming. Funny enough, I also just happened to cover the story of Rahab in the old testament. In this story, there is a crimson rope dangling from her window that signifies where her home is and all who should be spared from death as Jerico was laid siege. This is yet another foreshadowing of the blood! The new testament marks the changing of an era. While Jesus was a Jew and practiced under Jewish law, His death altered the requirements for salvation. Indeed, His death and resurrection rendered the old testament laws to be unnecessary for salvation. His sacrifice brought victory over death and the grave. His blood became the atonement for all of humanity's sins. This is the very blood mentioned in Revelation. The enemy was overcome by it. Since that is the case, we are ALSO able to overcome the enemy by pleading that very blood over us! As we have covered in past episodes, we know that we, as Christ followers, are co-heirs with Him. Meaning we can wield His name and His blood against the enemy. Now listen, I know at this point you may think I'm talking crazy but bear with me here… have you ever heard anyone pray something “In the name of Jesus”? Well… it's because we have no authority outside of Jesus. The Bible tells us in John 14:12-14 Just as we are able to operate in His name, we are also able to apply His blood over our lives, our loved ones, and even our property. How, you may ask? Well, let me go back to by material here and share some amazing testimonies! (And by the way, I highly recommend that you each go out and buy a copy of this book for more encouragement and insight into this topic…its SO good!) The name of the book is The Blood And The Glory by Billye Brim. I found mine on amazon and no, this is not an ad haha! I was genuinely so excited to get such solid material that I had to pass on a few of these passages she includes in her book. They are faith boosters. And again, I feel deeply that if we do not start sharing these insights from the older generations, we run the risk of losing them. With that being said, here is an excerpt and testimony from Dr. Brim's book, The Blood And The Glory.
We can play our part in seeing God do amazing things in our lives and the lives of others, by activating our faith. By definition, a miracle is a divine operation that happens outside of the laws of nature; it cannot be explained upon any natural basis. Amazingly, Jesus taught His disciples that God would do whatever we ask if we have faith, so faith is key to seeing miracles (Matthew 21:22). Even a little faith is powerful (Matthew 17:20). In our convenience culture, there is a danger that we try to reduce the miraculous to a convenient formula. Faith is not an impersonal force, not a principle or a method. As we see from examples in the Bible, faith rests on the person of Jesus Christ. Our faith needs to be activated. Different times in the gospel we read Jesus saying ‘your faith has healed you' (Matthew 9:22 ESV; Mark 5:34 ESV; Luke 17:19; Luke 18:42). The word used in the original language of the New Testament to describe healing is ‘Sozo'. It means “to preserve, rescue, save from death, or keep alive.” Sometimes, ‘Sozo' refers to spiritual salvation, resulting from a person's faith. For example, when a repentant prostitute washed Jesus' feet with her tears, He told her: “Your faith has saved you” (Luke 7:50). When Jesus said to certain people, “Your faith has made you well,” He was saying that their faith (their confidence in Him) caused God to bring their restoration. The power of Christ brought about the cure, but His power was applied in connection with their faith. So, the value of one's faith does not come from the one who expresses it but from the one on whom it depends (Mark 10:52, Mark 11:22). In the case of a paralysed man at the pool of Bethesda where multitudes gathered to be healed (John 5:1-11). Jesus asked the man if he wanted to be made well. But he really didn't really understand the question. He thought the only way to be healed was to get into the pool at the right moment, but he couldn't do that. Jesus healed him anyway! This confused and needy man was healed by God's grace. He had no faith in Jesus at the time; he didn't even know it was Jesus who had healed him until later (John 5:12–13). That is how Jesus dealt with the sick in many cases. He separated their physical problems from their spiritual needs. Everyone whom Jesus willed to be healed was healed. Sometimes Jesus emphasised the faith they had, other times, in His great mercy, He healed those who had no faith and later drew them to Himself. So, what did Jesus mean when He told people, “Your faith has made you well”? 1. Faith in the authority of Jesus (Matthew 8:5-13) 2. Have faith to call on the name of Jesus (Mark 10:46-52; Isaiah 9:6-7; Isaiah 53:4-5; Mark 10:48; Exodus 15:26) 3. Faith to reach out to Jesus (Mark 5:24-34) Apply 1. Faith in the authority of Jesus (Matthew 8:5-13). The story of the centurion whose servant was healed by Jesus appears both in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. This centurion recognised that Jesus had authority and power in an area that he himself did not, that is physical healing. His own power and authority, great as it was, could not make his servant well again. His great faith on its own could not change the situation either. He needed the person and authority of Jesus. He activated his faith by finding Jesus and submitting to His authority. He had no doubt that sickness itself is under the authority of Jesus to command. Amazingly, Jesus would have willingly gone to the centurion's house out of compassion but responded according to his great faith instead. If you think of faith as a currency, it can only make a difference when you take it out of your purse or wallet! Similarly, when you activate your faith in God and allow yourself to believe in Him, the possibilities are endless. This means you act and talk like you have faith, you make decisions based on it, and you're not ashamed of it just like this centurion. The lesson here is that God alone is the miracle worker. So, come to Him, submitting to His authority in every area, just like this centurion. If you ask Him to work out His plans in your life as He sees fit, without pre-conditions, you will see miracles. Ask yourself: is it possible that you are limiting the size of your miracle because you have not put your faith in the authority of Jesus in your life? Make that decision, give Him first place to work as He sees fit without fear. 2. Have faith to call on the name of Jesus. In the story of Jesus's encounter with blind Bartimaeus, Jesus was leaving the city of Jerico with a large crowd following Him (Mark 10:46-52). Bartimaeus activated his faith by calling on the name of Jesus. He most likely knew who Jesus was through the scriptures that were read publicly, and by the many miraculous things Jesus was doing all around him. He called Jesus ‘Son of David', which showed that he believed Jesus to be the long-awaited Messiah, the King sent as the Saviour of the world, starting with Israel (Isaiah 9:6-7; Isaiah 53:4-5). Knowing who Jesus was and hearing about the miracles He was doing, Bartimaeus could hardly contain himself! Even in the face of discouragement Bartimaeus would not be silenced (Mark 10:48). This kind of faith caused Jesus to stop. He Jesus responded to the faith Bartimaeus had in His name, His reputation and person. Being blind, he had never seen Jesus, but that did not stop him believing Jesus. The same is true today. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. One of the names of God is ‘Jehovah Rapha' which means ‘The Lord who heals'. There's healing in His name (Exodus 15:26). Cry out to Jesus for mercy in your need and like Bartimaeus you will be saved, healed and delivered. 3. Faith to reach out to Jesus (Mark 5:24-34). In this final example, a woman's faith moved her to reach out and touch the garment of Jesus so she could be healed. This example illustrates powerfully that genuine faith relies on the person of Jesus. There were many who touched Jesus in that crowd, but only one had reached out to touch Him because of her faith in Him. Having to explain her bleeding in a crowded place would have been a great embarrassment to her, but she had faith in the divinity of Jesus, and in the compassion of Jesus. For her, Jesus was not just a good man, He is ‘Emmanuel', God with us in our pain, in our suffering. Her faith led her to believe that just taking hold of His garment would be sufficient for her healing. It is not the healing ministers that heal, it is not the longest, loudest prayer, it is Jesus and only Jesus who heals. If you reach out to Him now, He will answer you as He has promised. It is time like never before to activate our faith in the authority of Jesus, in the name Jesus, and to reach out to touch Jesus in our lives. Refuse to be held back by limitations and the discouragement of others. Go after God! If you draw near to God, He promises that He will draw near to you.

Ikalawa, may matibay itong pananampalataya.

We all have a nickname, whether other people know it or not. We all struggle with our sin, but how is our sin, and the world's, the key point to the Christmas story? In this sermon, Pastor Ed Burns talks about the lineage of Jesus again, but this time he focuses on the person Rahab. She was known as having a checkered past and a complicated, scandalous job. In her story, she helped God's people defeat the city of Jerico, and later ended up being the mother of Boaz, the great grandfather of King David. How did God use troubled, sinful people to bring his son into the world? Listen to learn more! Thanks for listening! Peter Klepec, general Maister in podobno. »Dam ti, kar želiš, ker si zmogel tolikega sovražnika in otel deželo in mesto velike nadloge in nesreče.
Yesterday we had the passage from Luke about the blind man who is healed by Jesus also in Jerico. From Matthew we know the blind man's name, Bartimaeus. Today Luke 19 tells us about another man, also in Jerico, but on the opposite side of the social spectrum. Not a poor blind man without power, money or standing. But a publican, a tax collector who worked for the Roman occupation, and his named is Zacchaeus. Both could not see Jesus: Bartimaeus because he was blind, Zacchaeus because he was too short. To be able to see Jesus he took initiative. This is an analogous to taking our formation more seriously. Fr. Eric Nicolai preached this meditation at Ernescliff College on November 21, 2023. Music: Handel Rinaldo, Aria Lascia che io pianga, adapted for guitar by Bert Alink.
Today's reading is from Luke 18:35-43, about the blind man of Jerico, healed by Jesus. This passage lends itself to our prayer, because we can easily conjure up the image, the sounds, the atmosphere, the smells, that the blind man was experiencing. We weren't there, and we too are blind, in a way. And he reacted. Saint Josemaria has a long commentary on this passage in Friends of God, from a meditation he preached on October 12, 1947. How do I really read the Word of God, Holy Scripture, to its fullest meaning? Preached by Fr. Eric Nicolai at Kintore College on November 20, 2023. Music: Handel, Opera Rinaldo, Aria Lascia che io pianga adapted for guitar by Bart Alink. Thumbnail: Anna and Tobit by Rembrandt, 1630, National Gallery, UK.
Parang wala kasi akong nakikitang hiwaga.” “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eyes.” Sr. Gemmaria dela Cruz, fsp l Daughters of St. Paul

The Cost of the Cross Hebrews 13:11-13 (TPT) Never let the truth of the cost of the cross grow dim. Our redemption was premeditated, prescribed, and precise. Isaiah 53:4-5 The fact that Jesus was crucified ‘outside the walls’ has great significance. 1. Outside the Walls was the place of rejection. The area outside the ‘camp’ was ‘no man’s land.’ Foreigners lived outside the walls, people who had no place in the community. Lepers, the contagious, the suffering lived ‘outside the walls.’ The waste dump was outside the walls. 2. Outside the Walls was a place of identification. By being crucified ‘outside the city walls,’ Jesus identified with everyone and everything that was rejected. Blind Bartimaeus was outside the city of Jerico. Mark 10:46-52 Jesus was crucified with criminals. Isaiah 53:12 Jesus was crucified outside the walls because He was our sin offering. 3. Outside the Walls was the place of REDEMPTION. Luke 15 has three stories of redemption. The lost coin The lost sheep The lost son Every story of redemption has five things in common: 1. Something valuable is lost. God deeply values things that are lost. 2. There is an intensive search that occurs. The point-God is waiting, searching, looking, and longing for people who are lost. 3. That which was lost is found. The difference between the two sons-one is a slave to his impulses the other to his duty. But only one recognizes his hopelessness. 4. A great celebration follows. The party thrown by the father in the Parable of the Lost Son is significant. It celebrated the son’s repentance, but it also publicly restored and honored him. This is God’s love and forgiveness. 5. God and the angels rejoice in Heaven. The party isn’t just on earth when a sinner repents, all of Heaven rejoices! +++++++ You can find our service times on our website: https://allnationstallahassee.com/ You can find sermon highlights on Twitter here: https://mobile.twitter.com/allnationstally
08 - 20 - 23 Between Jerusalem & Jerico - Pastor Chad Smailes by Glen Ferris Apostolic Church
And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, unto the water of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho throughout mount Bethel, And goeth out from Bethel to Luz, and passeth along unto the borders of Archi to Ataroth, And goeth down westward to the coast of Japhleti, unto the coast of Bethhoron the nether, and to Gezer: and the goings out thereof are at the sea. So the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.
Obedience unto God and his word is very important if .the Believer wants to win each time. Obeying God gives uncommon blessings and miracles. When we the Believer disobey God it causes many problems in our lives. Home problems,Family problems and many more everywhere we go. We need God our Heavenly Father to be with us where ever we God. Our actions should be unto Almighty God.
