OKEDO (New Delhi , INDIA) After years of searching, Will Clark finally found Gandhi in the jungle. Together they have cooked up a noisy revolution of menacing grooves and addictive melodies, carefully combined to capture hearts and dance floors all across the nation. ‘Okedo’ is the bold new sound of an untamed beast made of pure soul. ‘As Gandhi looks on and beats his drum, Clark is lost in his dreamy vocals that melt the right amount of cheese on top’ - Jamie Oliver https://soundcloud.com/okedomusic

Stalvart John (Bengaluru, India) After taking the plunge into dance music, he found appreciation from audiences across the globe in no time thanks to his radio shows which include Frisky Radio (NY), Afterhours FM (SFO),Tenzi.fm (India), IMRTD Worldwide (NY), Powermix fm Radio (UK) and Radio Schizoid (Mumbai), 1worldtrance among many others. Stalvart's podcast "In a Mind Place" is quite popularin the Indian underground community. Not bound to genres, this podcast takes listeners on a journey through his current and old favorites. Known for his deeper take on dance music and his unconventional attitude, he’s contributed to the initial uprising of Kerala’s electronic music scene with a series of gigs in Club 1100 Ramada Resort, Ava Lounge Dream Hotel Cochin, Lagoon - Le Meridien, V-Bar Hilton Garden Inn (Trivandrum). In order to pursue his passion, Stalvart had to move out of Kerala when the music scene got abruptly cut short by the prohibition. After shifting base to Bangalore in early 2015, he started finding a new comfort zone in his Disco infused House & Techno, which has earned him regular showcases at some of the top venues like Humming Tree, Bluefrog & Social Offline. With way too many musical ideas to express, the jump from DJ to producer was imminent - with a debut release on one of India's finest labels "Wind Horse Records", he went on to release on German Label "Mind Field Records" on a compilation featuring the likes of like Paul Hartnoll (one half of the legendary Orbital), Norwell amidst other established names. His latest release on Wind Horse Records got great feedback from Richie Hawtin (Minus), Miss Nine (Armada), David Marston (Wolf + Lamp) and many more. How does a Lovari extended family enact the sharing of material resources, and of intangible gifts conveyed through gesture, dance, song and speech? How do these practices confer identity and what may they have in common with those of certain communities in Europe, perhaps in the Middle East and Central Asia, and in their country of origin – India? After a brief overview of current knowledge and hypotheses regarding the origin of Romani communities, with some comments on their distribution in Europe today, I will present points of view put forward by Romani and other authors in the ongoing debate about how the ancestors of today’s Romani communities may have fitted into the Hindu caste system. A resolution of this issue will need to be informed by new insights gained from linguistics and genetics, but also by the cultural practices and the actual religious beliefs of Romani communities in Europe and those of – perhaps related – groups in the Middle East, Central Asia, and India itself. To illustrate the culture and beliefs of Romani communities, I will show extracts from the video of a recent wedding celebrated by a Lovari family.

Does Jade Dernbach deserve a place in the team? Ditto Craig Kieswetter? And is Ravi Jadeja finally establishing himself for India? In addition, there's an autopsy on another New Zealand horror show in Port Elizabeth, and a listener question sparks a debate about the concept of a two-division Test championship.
