In this episode of the show, Binksy and Stu look back at an epic encounter at Lord's, which saw England go 2-1 up against India. We start the show by talking about the quality of the match and the emotions of a gripping 4th innings, in which Ravindra Jadeja almost played hero with the tail but ultimately saw the legend of Ben Stokes grow even further. The conversation then bounces around from India's missed opportunities to the quality of batting on display from KL Rahul and Joe Root, the return of Jofra Archer and the ongoing discussion around slow over rates and the Dukes cricket ball. To round out the show, we look ahead to the selection questions facing both sides for the 4th Test. Will Jasprit Bumrah play? Should India make more changes? A bump in the road for Shoaib Bashir and whether England will rotate their bowling attack in what shapes to be another fascinating encounter. England India Daily, 3rd Test, Lord's Review: It was a hot one at Lord's, with the old-fashioned ebb and flow Test match returning. After what was essentially a two-day shootout, the result was a new record for Lord's. Jofra Archer also broke records, but what is his career trajectory? As for longevity, will Ben Stokes' herculean efforts come back to haunt him? For India, will Ravindra Jadeja regret not pushing for more runs throughout his lengthy stay? Is this now completely Ben Stokes' team? Has Brendon McCullum now taken a backseat? Throwing forward, the long-awaited return of Liam Dawson to the Test arena for Old Trafford. Who does India choose for the fourth Test, and why do they seem to lose when Jasprit Bumrah plays? India has won the days, but England has won the moments. Daniel Norcross joins Cameron Ponsonby. We sat down to discuss England's win at Lord's.We discussed why Jadeja should have attacked more, why is this team so defensive?, what is the secret of Ben Stokes' energy? (No we didn't) but definitely marvelled at Archer's return and the dangers of Siraj being overbowled before looking ahead to the Manchester Test where we think Kuldeep is a must (heck, we thought he was a must in all tests). There is sadly no media review but an observation that the Indian fan and YT creators ended up defending this selection as the game went on.
Adam Peacock and Alyssa Healy join you to talk about just how good Test cricket is! We look at the historic Australian win in Jamaica - Starc and Boland couldn't miss, Cam Green had a solid series, and the race is on this spring to find Australia’s next opening batsman. We also dive into India vs England and a fiery third Test. Jofra Archer is back, the sledging between the two teams was wild, and Ben Stokes proved once again he’s a warrior. Did India miss Kohli? Was Shubman Gill rattled? We finish with Italy’s World Cup qualification and Heals shares her biggest blow-up.

A truly melodramatic final day at Lord's featuring only 112 runs but six vital wickets to give England the narrowest of victories by 22 runs. It was on the very day six years ago when England tied the World Cup final and won the Super Over on a boundary count back, and two of England match-winners that 2019 day - Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer - were at the forefront of England's victory today. Simon Hughes and Simon Mann look back at a wonderful advert for Test cricket and the extraordinary defiance of the Indian lower order with the former Indian player Deep Dasgupta. Defending a meagre 193 for victory, England's Durham pair Brydon Carse and Ben Stokes offer hope of a brilliant climax to an absorbing third Test with late wickets. India now require a further 135 runs to win, with serene opener KL Rahul looking secure and the mercurial Rishabh Pant due in next. It promises to be an exciting final day as the moribund pitch gradually deteriorates. Can Ben Stokes inspire England again on the sixth anniversary of his miraculous World Cup final performance at Lords in 2019? Led by the indefatigable Joe Root England ground out a solid base on the first day of the 3rd Test at Lord's. There is more hard work tomorrow once Root has got the one run to record his 37th Test hundred. One of the most iconic voices in sport, indeed one of the most iconic voices in the history of radio, Henry Blofeld shares his reflections on a career behind the mic during which he bore witness to some of the greatest feats in cricketing history. Now 85 and retired from the BBC's Test Match Special commentary team, he recalls the day the legendary John Arlott described the game's first streaker at Lord's (complete with impressions of Arlott and Brian Johnston), remembers some of his favourite players and their top innings, gives his verdict on Ben Stokes and Bazball, and makes his predictions for England's series against India and this winter's Ashes in Australia. With his idiosyncratic charm and good humour, the Old Etonian, whose surname was the inspiration behind one of Ian Fleming's most notorious Bond villains, and who once almost played cricket for England himself by mistake, shares stories and offers his analysis on the sport he loves.

Season 18, Episode 14: It's almost northern Test summer time, with Ben Stokes out of hibernation, Zimbabwe playing warm-ups, and the Australian and South African IPL players... heading back to India to finish the delayed season. Ah well. Meanwhile, Cam Green makes runs while Marnus doesn't, the South African squad is named, West Indies have a new captain, Middlesex is more into Virat Kohli than Kohli is into Middlesex, and Charlotte Edwards' first squad doesn't include Sophie Ecclestone, which might mean one of two very different things. In this episode of the show, Binksy, Jamie and Stu look back at week 6 of IPL 2025, which saw the top 7 sides break away, Vaibhav Suryavanshi score a 35-ball century, Mumbai demolish Rajasthan, KKR win a final-ball thriller, Punjab secure a crucial two points against LSG, England name their first Test squad of the summer, and plenty more! We start this week by talking about Sunday's double-header, which saw KKR seal a nervy 1-run victory against RR to keep their slim playoff hopes alive, and Punjab Kings take a big step towards the semi-finals with an impressive victory against LSG. We spend a long time discussing Vaibhav Suryavanshi's cover drive, as well as the skill and quality of Arshdeep Singh as the battle for the Top 4 heats up. From there, we move to Stu's claim that this tournament is tracking towards a Mumbai Indians v Gujarat Titans final. Ryan Rickelton joined Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav in the runs this week, while Trent Boult continues to take wickets alongside Jasprit Bumrah. For GT, it's the top 3 of Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler who continue to shine alongside their balanced bowling attack led by Prasidh Krishna. We discuss how IPL form could lead to Test opportunities, and whether the upcoming match between these two sides could be a preview of the big dance. One side who haven't been flying high in 2025 is Sunrisers Hyderabad, and despite their tiniest of tiny chances of sneaking into the playoffs, we decide it is time to bite the bullet and discuss what went wrong this season. The short answer is everything, but without Baldy there to defend him somehow the conversation turns to whether Pat Cummins is a marquee player in T20 cricket and how SRH could look to improve their bowling attack in 2026. We round out the show by talking some Test cricket, thanks to England naming their first squad of the summer to take on Zimbabwe in a one-off fixture. The boys evaluate the squad, noting Ben Stokes on the comeback trail, an injury to Jordan Cox, a potential debut for Sam Cook, Shoaib Bashir's inclusion and what bearing any of it could have for an exciting summer to come.
