A recent Federal Appeals Court ruling allows students to sue the U.S. government for luring them to Farmington University, a fake institution that Immigration and Customs Enforcement incorporated in 2016, apparently to entrap international students who arrived legally in the U.S. on F-1 visas in an illegal “pay-to-stay” scheme. In the process, after collecting around six million dollars of student tuition, federal agents arrested at least 250 of the students who had enrolled at the fake university, which had a real campus as well as real accreditation obtained wrongfully. We review the legal case with Anna Nathanson, Associate Attorney with the Norris Law Group who represented the students who sued the U.S. along with Niraj Warikoo, a reporter for the Detroit Free Press who has been covering this story since he broke it in 2019. AI presents a significant opportunity for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to enhance their services by replacing legacy tools with AI-enabled solutions. In a podcast episode featuring Niraj Tolia, the CEO of Alcion, the discussion highlights how AI can empower MSPs to focus on delivering value-added services to their end customers. By utilizing AI tools, MSPs can streamline operations, reduce operational burdens, and improve the overall customer experience. This shift enables MSPs to prioritize critical aspects such as professional services, digital transformation, and customer relationships. The episode emphasizes that integrating AI is not about replacing MSPs but enhancing their capabilities. By incorporating AI technologies, MSPs can automate tasks, enhance security measures, detect anomalies, and provide more reliable services. This benefits end customers by offering advanced features and improved security while allowing MSPs to save time and resources previously spent on manual tasks. In this episode, Steve Fretzin and Niraj Chhabra discuss:How law firm financial planning is different from the average person. Building a relationship on education first with your financial advisor. Avoiding outgrowing your income. Understanding your expenses now to know what you need for the future. Thinking about and planning for long-term care. Key Takeaways:Attorneys need more than just retirement planning, but it is often overlooked. Your savings should increase in proportion to your income and everything else. If you think creatively, there are ways to use time and money to your advantage for the future that isn't taxed. Everyone considers monthly costs, but many do not consider seasonal budget items like traveling expenses or holiday budgets. "Whether you make $100K per year or $1M per year you have the same limits on how much you can put into your 401K and defer on your taxes. So we got to find creative ways to get that money to work outside of the bank account, we have to find creative ways to defer taxes and take advantage of vehicles that other folks may not be taking advantage of." — Niraj Chhabra Email Steve at Steve@Fretzin.com for a chance to audit one of his exclusive rainmaker round table groups in April! Niraj Tolia, CEO of Alcion, enters the MSP Zone. The deployment of AI in MSP backup tools addresses several critical challenges in the managed services industry. By integrating AI, MSPs can automate routine and repetitive tasks, such as system monitoring, patch management, and backups, which significantly reduces human error, enhances efficiency, and optimizes resource allocation. This automation leads to cost savings and improved service delivery, which is essential in a competitive market where talent is scarce and operational efficiency is paramount. The adoption of AI was driven both by MSPs' desire to stay ahead of technological advancements and by internal motivations to improve service quality and reliability. AI has made a substantial positive impact on MSPs and their service delivery by enabling proactive issue resolution. Niraj discusses his thoughts around AI in data backup, what MSPs need in a modern-day backup solution, why he decided to enter the legacy MSP backup marketplace, and how AI will empower MSPs to succeed.

This episode with Niraj Naik was a mind-expanding, paradigm-shifting and enlightening conversation. For me anyway. I suspect it's a conversation that some people will listen to multiple times and others might find it a little to woo-woo for their liking. Which I get. But personally, I loved it. Niraj is a Pharmacist turned holistic health and breathwork expert, professional musician, serial entrepreneur, and one of the world's most sought-after spiritual ceremony facilitators. My intention going in was a 40-50 minute chat, but what eventuated was a two-part 75-minute chat, that I didn't want to end. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Read the full transcript for free here.Niraj Singh, the co-founder and CEO of Spinny, loves cars.So much so that when asked what would be the few things he would take with him to a deserted island, he hesitated a bit and then said: “I would take my car!”He tells us it's the only real personal space someone has. Niraj talks about how buying a car is one of the three or four milestones a person has in their life. And yet, buying a used car is still often a messy affair because trust or guarantees are hard to come by. It's a large problem in our society, and Niraj believes solving a problem like this is the only way to build a product that lasts a lifetime. So, it wasn't surprising that Niraj and his co-founders set up Spinny, a used car marketplace. It was last valued at $1.8 billion. The used car space, though, is extremely overcrowded. And overfunded. More and more Indians are comfortable buying used or pre-owned cars today. The demand is there. But on the supply side, there are so many sellers and platforms already. So we asked Niraj why he would go into a market rife with overcompetition and overfunding? And that's when he broke down the used cars marketplace for us. A marketplace that, he says, behaves differently from any other. Where the key to solving for supply actually goes back to demand. And he tells us why this is.Further, in this episode, Niraj talks about:The courage and tenacity it took to get through eight years of rejectionWhy there's no longer a difference between a used car buyer and a new car buyerIdentifying the pain points of the industry you're inWhat kind of people succeed at Spinny How to build trust within your companyAnd, of course, cars! This is Episode 28 of First Principles—The Ken's fortnightly leadership podcast. The Ken is India's first subscriber-only business journalism platform. I was doing an audit recently of our most popular topics on the podcast, and I wasn't surprised by the most popular topic - around mindset and abundance. But right after that, our top rated shows were around lead generation, specifically on LinkedIn, and so today I want to bring you a true expert in that space. After 23 years in London running sales teams. Niraj wanted to raise the standards of sales, so he wrote Everybody Works in Sales which became an Amazon international bestseller. He then set up his own sales coaching and training company to keep businesses accountable to help them achieve results. He's delivered Linkedin Training and Sales Coaching to over 400 small businesses and solopreneurs. In May 2022, Niraj was announced as a Top Sales Influencer in the World to Follow by Salesforce. My guest today is Niraj Kapur. Niraj is many things. An award-winning executive, Niraj has worked in corporate London for 23 years. From small businesses to a national newspaper to FTSE 100 companies, he's experienced it all and shares his insight, knowledge, big wins and horrible failures. A sales trainer, TedX Speaker, LinkedIn Top Voice, book author of 3 books including ‘Everybody works in Sales'.These are reasons enough to invite Niraj to the show, but I personally find Niraj to be one of the most transparent people who posts consistently on LinkedIn: the good, bad, ugly, all of it. It feels like we're going along the roller coaster together and this is rare, especially on LinkedIn with all of the fronts people put on to get business. We have a lot to learn from Niraj's journey .In this episode, Niraj shares how his family emigrated from India in the early 1950's to London and eventually reached Northern Ireland. We also talk about Niraj's stellar 25 year career in Sales, which started after his original plan to be a rock star didn't exactly pan out. This is a deeply intimate conversation, and I'm grateful to Niraj for sharing so openly with us. There's lots of storytelling, laughs, romance, sadness and ...well... real life stuff. Niraj leaves nothing out. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.Follow Niraj on LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/nkapur/Niraj's website and books: https://everybodyworksinsales.com/--------------------------------------------------Liked this episode? Niraj Kapur is one of my favs because he's earnest, generous and rewards himself with heavy metal band t-shirts. He's a LinkedIn top voice, three-time author, TedTalk speaker, Salesforce Top Sales Influencer to Follow and a trusted sales coach. Best of all, he dispels the stereotypes most associated with as a sales leader, known for raw truths, vulnerability, and helping others with NO profit motive. In this episode, Niraj shares his personal experience of overcoming trauma after his divorce and why he asked for help from his parents as a grown man. “I did something I really didn't want to do. I asked for help. And I reached out to my elderly retired parents. I said please help me and that's really difficult to do, especially when you're a grown man., At the time it felt horrible, but looking back it was a smartest thing I could do” He explains why asking for help is what smart people do. Why it's stinky to think asking for help is a sign of weakness, and Why it needs to be seen as a sign of strength and career catalyst to move forward. Niraj doesn't hold back (ever) Like me, he shares his frustration when giving free help and seeing people not taking advantage of it because there's nothing worse than seeing unfulfilled potential in others. If you're resisting asking for help, this episode has your name on it. Whether it's in your job search, crappy dead-end position, struggling with a toxic boss, or culture we've got you.
