Faith in the promises of God to the church empowers the spiritual Christian to cope with the difficult times in life. Because the believer has the mind of Christ, he is able to view life's troubles as God does, recognizing that they are temporary and fleeting in comparison with eternity. MOST AMERICAN Christians are Christians in name only. Surveys by the Barna Group reveal that upwards of three-quarters of us don’t really believe in God as He’s revealed Himself through His word. Preston and Kelly Condra, founders of Sufficient Word Ministries and authors of By Which We Are Saved, I Have Some Good News, and Papa, Let’s Talk, discuss the simplicity of the gospel—and why sharing it doesn’t have to be scary. Sharing the gospel doesn’t need to fill you with dread. Preston and Kelly Condra of Sufficient Word Ministries, authors of By Which We Are Saved and I Have Some Good News, discuss some common misconceptions about witnessing to others that make it scarier than it is.
Most American Christians don’t share the gospel with others because we don’t really know what the gospel is. Preston and Kelly Condra of Sufficient Word Ministries, authors of By Which We Are Saved, explain what the gospel is and what it isn’t.
Anyone can do good deeds. You don't have to be a Christian to have good works in life. But we do need the Holy Spirit to bear good fruit. What's the difference? Spiritual fruit. John chapter 15 is about believers abiding in the Vine in order to bear good, lasting fruit that glorifies God. Also, what's the difference between quenching the Spirit and grieving the Spirit.? We'll discuss this today, as well as how a Christian is to be continually yielded to the Lord in order to be "filled with the Spirit." Daily podcast, relevant articles on issues pertaining to Christians and more can be found on Stand Up For The Truth.
Deception Detection Radio Network presents Soaring Eagle Radio with Mike Spaulding and Special Guests Preston and Kelly Condra The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the “good news” of the free gift of salvation that God offers to all who will believe. A simple statement such as that is increasingly misunderstood in America today. What exactly did Jesus do and why? And why do the answers to those questions matter? And how can believers in Jesus Christ share their faith effectively? Joining me today are Preston and Kelly Condra to discuss their new books “I Have Some Good News: The Gospel – Objections and Answers” and “By Which We Are Saved: Sharing the Gospel With Confidence.” Preston and Kelly Bio Preston Condra, is an ordained Southern Baptist minister, a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a youth and adult singles minister for nearly 10 years before joining the staff of Watchman Fellowship in 2001. He has preached in churches across the United States, and served as an adjunct professor and guest lecturer at Christian colleges and seminaries. Preston is the author of "Universalism" in the Popular Encyclopedia of Apologetics (2008, Harvest House), Contending For The Faith: A Sourcebook on Apologetics (2001, Watchman Fellowship) and numerous articles before founding Sufficient Word Publishing. Kelly Condra is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a degree in Psychology and Education, and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology and Clinical Counseling. Kelly practiced in the fields of counseling, social work, and private coaching after working for a decade in the field of education. Kelly founded and ran Northern Light Missions, a Gospel and Christian education ministry, before marrying and moving south. How do Christians live lives that bear spiritual fruit? Preston and Kelly Condra, authors of the new book 'Bearing Fruit or Living Barren,' explain why "how," rather than "what," is the key word.
Is it possible to say the Sinner's Prayer and not really know what you've just done or why? Preston and Kelly Condra, authors of the new book I Have Some Good News, explain why it's important to understand the elements of the gospel.
Our calling as Christians is to make disciples of all nations. Preston and Kelly Condra discuss their new book, I Have Some Good News, and how we can use it as a tool to share the gospel with unbelievers.
Guest: Kelly Condra Website: http://www.watchman.org Responding to the call to share the Gospel of Christ is an intimidating prospect in our "politically correct" society. In addition to concerns about causing offense, some Christians feel unprepared to answer questions and objections which may arise. "By Which We Are Saved" is an evangelism handbook to equip the body of Christ to share their faith with greater confidence. A detailed explanation of the Gospel will aid Christians in recognizing and addressing unbelief, and extensive biblical references allow the Bible to defend itself against objections. A section on communication will help facilitate and smooth biblical conversations, enabling Christians to incorporate evangelism more fully into daily life. By Which We are Saved is a complete handbook for witnessing: • A thorough examination of the Gospel by which we are saved • Confidence builders for communicating • Concise responses to objections which arise when sharing the Gospel • Filled with scripture references, placing the emphasis on God’s answers
Authors of new book 'By Which We Are Saved' discuss the need for Christians to share the gospel and how to do it with confidence.
