Send us a textHave you ever felt exhausted by the pressure to evangelise? Like you're failing because you haven't invited enough people to church or gotten enough "conversions for Jesus"? You're not alone—and you might be experiencing what I call "evangelism fatigue."In this episode, I sit down with Pastor Rob Ventura, author of "Equipped to Evangelize," to strip away the clutter and rediscover what evangelism actually is according to Scripture. Rob brings refreshing clarity: evangelism isn't about numbers, events, or techniques—it's simply sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. In this conversation, we explore:What the Bible actually says evangelism is (hint: it's simpler than you think)Why success in evangelism isn't about conversions, but faithfulnessHow Reformed theology actually motivates evangelism rather than hindering itThe four essential components of the gospel messageWhy we need to talk about hell (and how love demands it)Practical wisdom on when to speak and when to waitThe power of the Holy Spirit in evangelismHow to overcome evangelism fatigue and guiltAbout Rob Ventura: Rob Ventura is the pastor of Grace Community Baptist Church in Rhode Island and has been in full-time pastoral ministry for 18 years. He's been actively evangelizing for over 30 years, including open-air preaching in New York City. In today’s culture, it can be intimidating to share the Gospel when we face such hostility toward Christianity and the Truth. But, we can be encouraged to remain faithful as we pursue Christ-like character, endure Christ-like suffering, and respond with Christ-like witness in a culture that seems to often be against us.
We live a blessed time. Never before has mankind had the opportunity to learn and share than ever before however many of us end up using for stuff that doesn't have eternal ramifications. Well today I have a young man on the podcast who is using tech with an eternal perspective. Josh from the TikTok Channel Dare To Be Mormon joins me to explain a project he has started using Artificial Intelligence to create animated videos that tell the story of the Restored Gospel. During the course of our conversation, we get a little bit of Josh's back story, his gaining a testimony of the Restored Gospel. From there we move on to show a couple of the videos that he produced, then Josh tell us how he creates his videos and the processes involved to create them. We wrap it all up by talking about what his hopes are for his content. The Restored Version Of The Scriptures www.restoredscriptures.com 1830 Mercantilewww.1830mercantile.org

Most of us want to be able to share big and important truths with those who think and believe differently than we do, but find ourselves either shrinking back in fear or getting sucked into arguments that quickly devolve and turn ugly. Both responses stem from fear and challenge our ability to fulfill the greatest call Jesus gave us, and that’s to share the gospel with those who don’t yet know Christ. In this episode, host Jennifer Slattery speaks with apologist, pastor and church planter Dave Montoya on all the reasons these conversations feel so difficult and have the potential to turn so hostile, how to analyze our unique triggers, and create more fulfilling and fruitful discussions with those who hold a vastly different view of our world than we do. Discussion/Reflective Question: What resonated with you most in this episode? When it comes to discussing big truths with those with whom you disagree, do you most frequently tend to get sucked into a tense argument or try to avoid the discussion, and why do you think this might be? Consider a "truth discussion" when you became reactive or withdrawn. What factors might have impacted your reaction? How difficult do you find it to see commonalities between yourself and those with whom you disagree on issues about which you feel deeply passionate, and why do you think this is? According to Dave Montoya, we should approach anger with caution. Why did he suggest this, and how do you feel regarding his perspective? What is one action step God might be inviting you to take having listened to this episode? In this teaching from Iowa City Church we'll begin learning together how to share the gospel in simple, everyday ways. The first step isn't complicated—it's prayer. Before we talk about Jesus with anyone, we can begin by praying for them, asking God to open doors and prepare their hearts. Prayer is something we can all do, and it's where sharing the good news really begins. To learn more, give a listen to part four of Our Church.

In this episode of Women Soaring, we're diving into what it means to live with urgency when it comes to sharing the Gospel — not out of fear, but out of love. As Christian women, military spouses, and homeschool moms, our lives are filled with countless conversations — at the coffee shop, on the sidelines, in the homeschool co-op, or during deployment seasons. But how often do we see those everyday moments as opportunities to shine God's light? We often think sharing our faith needs to be loud or perfectly planned, but so much of God's work happens quietly — over a cup of coffee, through a text of encouragement, or while helping a friend in need. This episode explores how we can bring Jesus into our conversations naturally and authentically, reflecting His love through our daily walk.Join us as we talk about:☕ Turning small talk into meaningful conversations

Send us a textWelcome to God-sized Stories!I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Dr. Dodge—a passionate church leader, author, and missionary whose own journey to faith began as a university student right here in the Midwest. Together, we touch on his remarkable story of coming to Christ, his calling to reach students on campuses across the world, and the meaningful church planting work he's been a part of, both here in the US and in the rural villages of Zambia. We also dive deep into his brand new book, “Gospel 201,” the much-anticipated follow-up to the best-selling “Gospel 101.” Dr. Dodge shares powerful insights on why a true understanding of the Gospel begins with grasping the heart of God's story from Genesis onward. We explore Jesus' parable of the sower and the seed—how it challenges us not just to hear, but to really listen and allow God's Word to take root in our lives in a way that bears fruit. We talk about the hurdles of a self-focused culture, the distractions in our day-to-day lives, and why approaching God with humility and a trembling heart is so important if we want to truly walk in our purpose. And here's something I'm excited to share with you: Dr. Dodge is giving away a free copy of “Gospel 201” to one of our listeners! EVERYDAY DISCIPLES S1:E9Following the way of Jesus in everything, everywhere, every day. “And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” - Mark 1:17SHOW NOTESWelcome back to the Everyday Disciples podcast, where we discuss what it means to follow the way of Jesus in everything, everywhere, every day. This month, we are talking about what it means to be good stewards or our time, our talent, and our treasures. Today, our host Andrew is joined by Co-host Ruth and our guest, K2 Nelson, as we talk about the importance of our stories. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO SHARE OUR FAITHLooking at the story of the man who was delivered from being possessed by a legion of demons in Mark 5:1-20. We see that this man was turned away by Jesus and given a calling to tell his friends of how much the Lord had done for him. We are called to share our faith and point to our hope in Jesus. This man knew what Jesus had done for him and had a story to share. We all have a story to share about what Jesus has done in our lives and for us. HOW CAN WE SHARE OUR FAITHWe have all experienced something good: a meal, a book, a cup of coffee that we wanted to share with others, almost to the point where we couldn't stop. We can apply that same love to sharing something good, to how we share about Jesus, our savior and provider. See 1 Peter 3:15-16 and Matthew 28:18-20. We are simply called to share what God has done for us. PRACTICEWRITE OUT YOUR STORY: Write out your story. Use these prompts to help you think through your story: What has the Lord done for me?How has the Lord had mercy on me? What has been your experience following Jesus, and why would you want others to know Him?How can someone follow Jesus? SHARE YOUR STORY: Take time to share your story with someone you know or someone you don't.PRAY: Pray that God would give you the opportunity to share the hope you have in Jesus with someone. Sharing your story or engaging in evangelism does not have to be scary. It can simply involve sharing a meal with others, talking about something you've seen God do recently, or pointing the conversation toward Jesus when given the opportunity. Writing out your story, or at least part of it, helps remind you of what God has done and keeps it fresh in your mind so that you can share it with those around you. In this sermon, Mike Whitesell reflects on how Christians, especially those in their later years, can continue to grow and make a meaningful impact for God's kingdom. Prompted by his own experience with retirement, Whitesell stresses the importance of not becoming complacent or “a grumpy old guy,” but remaining intentional and vibrant in faith. He encourages listeners to examine not just their spiritual practices but also their attitudes, dispositions, and ways of relating to others. Using both a personal story about impatience at a cell phone store and biblical examples, he highlights how our daily interactions should be marked by “sweet reasonableness” and grace as described in Philippians 4. Whitesell employs a sailing metaphor, likening the Christian life to trimming sails so we can be optimally driven by the Holy Spirit, rather than old habits or self-focus. Drawing from Galatians 2:20, he outlines four steps for spiritual refinement: dying to self, denying self-centeredness, relying on Christ, and then actively trying to live out Christlike character. Ultimately, Whitesell urges believers to let the Holy Spirit guide their responses and relationships so that their witness remains vibrant, gracious, and effective for Christ. The sermon ends with a prayer for God's ongoing work in shaping His people to reflect Jesus in all circumstances.

Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly theme of “Back to School” with some of the professors and staff from the Moody Bible Institute (MBI). First, we had Peter Worrall to discuss how the deconstruction of his faith brought him back to God and about the Christian Worldview. Peter is an Associate Professor of Educational Ministries at MBI. He has also authored the book, “20 Things We’d Tell Our Twentysomething Selves.” Then we had Dr. Samuel Naaman discuss how God led him into missionary work and how to share the gospel with people from other cultures. Dr. Naaman is the professor of Intercultural Studies at MBI. He is also the Vice President of Call of Hope, which reaches Muslims for Christ. He is also the President and co-founder of the South Asian Friendship Center, which aims to reach Muslims and Hindus. We also discussed the importance of reading the Word to accurately and effectively share the gospel. We turned to 2 Timothy 2:14-18, where it shows the importance of knowing the word and not adding to or taking away from it. Then we had Brian Kammerzelt join us to discuss the changing landscape of media with AI and the need for theologically informed communicators. Brian is a Professor and the Program Head of Communications at MBI. He specializes in the theology of communications and culture.
