The Stand Up For The Truth Podcast is an exceptional podcast that provides a biblical perspective on current events and encourages listeners to deepen their understanding of the Bible. As a busy mom, this podcast has been a lifeline for me to stay grounded in my faith and navigate the challenges of the world we live in. I appreciate the dedication and hard work that David Fiorazo and Mary Danielson put into creating each episode. Their commitment to spreading truth is evident, and I am grateful for their insights and the guests they bring on the show.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is its ability to provide a biblical perspective on current events. David and Mary tackle important issues with clarity and wisdom, always pointing back to Scripture as their guide. This helps me to understand how my faith intersects with what is happening in the world, and it equips me to have meaningful conversations with others about these topics.
Another great aspect of this podcast is the diverse range of guests they bring on. Whether it's theologians, pastors, or cultural commentators, each guest brings a unique perspective that adds depth and richness to the discussions. It's refreshing to hear from different voices within Christianity who are all committed to upholding biblical truth.
If there was one aspect that could be improved upon, it would be diversifying the topics covered in each episode. While I appreciate their focus on current events, sometimes it feels like they circle back to the same few subjects repeatedly. It would be beneficial to explore a wider range of topics within the context of biblical truth.
In conclusion, The Stand Up For The Truth Podcast is an invaluable resource for anyone seeking a biblical perspective on current events. David Fiorazo and Mary Danielson are dedicated hosts who provide insightful commentary and bring on thought-provoking guests. This podcast has strengthened my faith, deepened my understanding of Scripture, and given me tools to engage with the world around me from a biblical worldview. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking truth and encouragement in their walk with Christ.
Mary welcomes back Bible teacher Chris Quintana to get a grip on the times. When people say, "get a grip", what do they mean? Getting a grip on reality in 2025 includes really pausing to see things for what they are. The waves of the sea tossing, with a side of perplexity suggests that God is backing the world into a corner and they are not seeing a way out. What does this look like then? We talk about the chaos that leads to global change, in a number of categories. When Dickens had his beloved Scrooge say, "I'll retire to bedlam", what did that mean? Back in the 13th century, there was a hospital in London for the insane called Bethlehem Hospital, shortened to "Bedlam". When Scrooge was talking to Bob Cratchit about Christmas and the "insanity" of celebrating anything, being merry, when he didn't have two shillings to rub together - that was "insanity". Scrooge further implied that if he were to do that, find himself happy outside of his wealth, he would willingly have himself committed - "retire to Bedlam". This showed his priorities over everything, including people. The craziness in this world, it is not going anywhere. We talk about the technocrats, rich tech engineers who do see the chaos in the world's systems, and believe that the order that tech brings, and control over everything and everyone, will bring order. We look at various other crises and the answers the world gives to the chaos. A fascinating hour with an articulate man. Mary welcomes back Bill Wilson of The Daily Jot to pull the curtain back on some inconvenient truths - inconvenient for those who don't like truth telling, anyway. In the aftermath of yesterday's shocking headline of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, sometimes the bedrock of truth will go head to head with wickedness and a high price is paid. Worldviews clash daily in these times, but embedded in the series of decisions that were made to take this man's life over ideology is the true definition of "crossing the rubicon" - and America will take a long time to recover from this, if we do. Today we also discuss the the political polarization fallout of the Sars/Cov pandemic, accompanied by the general declining trust in public health measures that followed, along with more intense political division. If it only took a couple weeks for Fauci and his ilk to shut our country down, why has it taken an additional 4 years to finish a thought on the scam of the century? Well, there are those who are finally getting around to spelling it out. We also chat about lawfare against Trump's agenda, Senator Tim Kaine's radical views, and the myth of the Palestinian State. Set for September 22, the UN is continuing to push hard for that unknown state for an unknown people (see, "terrorists"). But Trump has disallowed visas for Mahmoud Abbas and 80 of his closest friends in terror. Now what? Well, change of venue perhaps. Stay tuned. A full hour with a prophecy watcher and journalist. Another news cycle, another opportunity to convey the lateness of the hour - and the lunacy that goes with that. That time is short is so painfully obvious, because at what point does even tech outpace that Revelation 13 scenario? Living on the edge of history has its advantages - namely, it keeps us on our toes and the edge of our seats all at the same time. Now, if AI genius of the day Peter Thiel is delivering lectures on the antichrist, it might be time to look up. When quakes and volcanoes threaten "global winter", it might be time to look up. When persecution and the Middle East heat up hot as the fires of judgment, it might be time to look up. The point of all of it? Look up! Our redemption is nigh and people are on the edge of sanity it would seem. More news cycle and more mayhem awaits, but it's all good. Take us home, Lord. Mary welcomes Bruce Carroll to the podcast to talk about his story, his life, his art. Bruce is a quintessential musician and artist in every facet. We talk about his early years, how they formed who he is, coming from a broken home. Becoming a Christian was the farthest thing from his thoughts, like most of us. One thread that runs through every testimony from his age group is a love of music, as though that was bound to be part of our lives. How did music enter into his day to day, what was he able to build upon to become such an iconic singer songwriter in the church? We talk about the Grammys, Dove Awards, touring, record contracts, parenting, and grandparenting. Bruce is a compassionate lover of truth, and a true blessing to the church; his heart for people comes through in all he does. We also talk about the point at which the church became an inward-looking entity instead of outward. What was the Apostle Paul's answer to a selfish church? "Have nothing to do with them." An insightful hour with one of the great songwriters of our generation. Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A
[Original airdate: 9/6/24] On today's podcast we chat with Chris Quintana, Kyle Peart and Flynn Huseby live in the studio. Up for discussion is the urgency of the gospel and bringing hope to as many as possible while the church is still able to speak clearly and uncompromisingly. Two things that await every human are death and standing before God. One hundred years from now, all that will be important is, who is in heaven with us? While there may come a time when we can no longer communicate the truth openly, our neighbors and friends need to hear. Kyle and Flynn have a heart for the lost and through their ministry, Once Lost Ministries, they contend for the faith with clarity and zeal. Then we look at Israel and the latest headlines there with Chris who has a thorough understanding of Israel and her place in prophecy.
Mary welcomes back Julaine Appling to talk about a smorgasbord of issues that affect the family. With a new school year and the Big Beautiful Bill, we look at some funding options for families whether they homeschool, charter, or attend public schools. Then we look at the increase of sports gambling around the nation. Why in the last few years are we inundated with ads for team odds and the money to be had? For so long, teams, players and fans were concerned about the integrity of the games, but no more. Sports gambling has become a real challenge for family finances in all sorts of households, but now some are looking to bet on Little League. It's unthinkable that adults should profit off a child's learning teamwork and athletic skills, but somehow it's not completely surprising. Then we look at the Illinois mandate to provide mental health evaluations in all schools; transgender violence, and the issue of the availability of the abortion pill in Texas. Mary chats with Jim Fletcher about a prophecy in Zechariah 2 that most Christians have never looked into. In his booklet "Zechariah 2", he fleshes out one of the most interesting passages imaginable - where prophecy intersects with modern times - and wouldn't you know, it has to do with the creation of the modern state of Israel. Shocking! There are over 100 prophecies foretelling their regathering, is the church even listening to God on this one? Jim is one of the most articulate around when it comes to clearly expositing on this subject, one that should be dear to all our hearts. There is so much swirling around us in terms of prophetic fulfillment, and still we find far too much claimed as prophetic fulfillment that is not. Why doesn't the church keep the main thing the main thing, with a Bible full of remarkable things to look into that we have yet to master? Jim's 2nd, current book, "The God that Answers By Fire", contains 7 of the greatest fulfillments related to Israel's regathering, and a believer can camp out on those for a season to fully understand the big picture. A full hour with one of the best Israel apologists around. Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A
"Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet, Till Earth and Sky stand presently at God's great Judgment Seat" (Rudyard Kipling). Tim and Mary take on another news cycle, as Summer gives way to Fall. What will the new season bring, regarding the Middle East and the falling West? There may not be a lot of commentary in the week after Labor Day, but things done under the sun are never "done". Today we talk about the very real potential for famine following the reported collapse of bee colonies in the West. The Bible has some pretty dire warnings about this in Revelation 6. Also on the agenda, the changes in the UK on a civilizational level. How long till what is turning into utter tyranny over there, will we see such brazen, unlawful censorship here in the States? Probably just one presidential election away. We take a look at the Vatican's LGBTQ embrace, and why is it that they speak out of both sides of their mouths on this lifestyle, and try to appear to condone it? Yes, East and West will, according to the Bible, become one big happy dictatorship in the end, but God will bring both together for judgment after the sin of the earth-dwellers is full. East and West shall meet. Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A
Today Mary brings her testimony to the table on our 2nd Testimony Tuesday. While every testimony is a series of divine appointments and God's revelation to the heart of someone, Mary has a historical context to widen the scope of God's providential ways. Tracing events from her great-grandmother to today, we see that God's ways are truly not ours. In the 2nd half of the podcast, we take a look at Malachi 3 and 4 and some of the most beautiful verses in the entire Bible. We talk about the books of God, and how our tears are recorded, showing us a God Who has great care and compassion for us. Once we get to the end of Malachi 4, prophetic utterances from God come to a halt, and we don't pick up the redemption story until Matthew 1, and a new epoch arrives with a song of "glory to God in the highest". What happened in that time frame? A lot, as we shall see, as we place it in historical context. A full hour looking at some of the more lovely things about this God we serve, in awe and wonder. The big picture today on Stand Up for the Truth. Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A
From the courtroom to the boardroom, from the pulpit to the podcast booth, Judge Phil Ginn is a man who has lived a life of extraordinary purpose and unwavering faith. He's a respected judge who served over two decades on the bench, presiding over countless cases in nearly half of North Carolina's county seats. He's a successful entrepreneur who took a struggling pump company and transformed it into a thriving industry leader. Currently, Judge Ginn currently serves as the president of Southern Evangelical Seminary, a leader in apologetics education—teaching students to defend their faith and talk intelligently, passionately and rationally about what they believe and why they believe it. Today Mary talks to the Judge about marriage - as an apologetic. When we think of apologetics, we think of cults, defending the gospel, evangelism and false teaching. But in the culture wars, what could be more important than defending the building blocks of society when all around us are those who wish to destroy it? Remember the "free love" movement of the '60s? Free it was not, and freedom was not attained. Rather, it was just one more knife in the heart of defending life and the picture of marriage that God desires us to project. Some deep thoughts about marriage and family today. Worth fighting for! Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A
Tim and Mary look at the news cycle, and are forced to conclude that something deep inside the culture has snapped. How else are we to think when saying "bacon" is a crime? And California wants to pass a child trafficking bill that isn't what you would think it is, and forget the blood moons, we have a much bigger problem, Houston. It's not that this massive comet that could wipe out all life on earth is actually going to hit our fair planet, it's the media spin and fear mongering that is going to occupy our minds. It doesn't matter if it's an actual threat anyway, kind of like bacon. We talk a bit about AI, and flag burning - also not a story you might expect. We should just stop expecting normality and go for the big apocalyptic scenario, because, it's coming. If the news cycle doesn't get you, the truth of the Scripture will because in the end, God has the last word. Mary welcomes speaker, author and AI expert Scott Townsend to the podcast to talk about the concerning characteristics of AI. The word "artificial" should give us our first clue as to what kind, if any, intel is within. Scott has written extensively on why we should be extremely wary of the potential delusion that comes packaged with the "illusion". A parrot can say that 2+2 is 4, but it doesn't know why. In a similar way, AI can spout all sorts of learned input but has no idea the physical reality. AI can tell us when certain stars or planets will be predictably in our skies, but has no knowledge of the physics in motion to make it true. We look at patterns and inference in AI, and all the ways it fails the simplest sniff tests. Also for discussion, Scott's gracious and heartfelt open letters to pastors, to challenge them to present prophecy biblically, as well as what we see in the news that obviously points to the season of Christ's return. How is it that they don't even have a working knowledge of Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation? Is their approach to ministry more temporal than looking to our sure future? A timely discussion with a true Watchman for our time. Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A
On today's Stand Up for the Truth, host Dave Wager brings on his longtime friend Dr. Tim, a physician and city council member, for a wide-ranging conversation rooted in John 8:32—“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Dave reflects on God's role in medicine, sharing how he trusted the Lord through his wife's cancer surgery, while Tim recalls moments when prayer guided him through critical procedures. The two talk through how truth requires discernment and obedience, not just knowledge. In his practice, Tim emphasizes the difference between evidence-based medicine and social narratives that distort reality, pointing to abortion, gender ideology, and the drift away from foundational truths. Together they affirm that real freedom comes from trusting God, not institutions. The conversation shifts to politics and culture as Dr. Tim highlights the growing influence of narratives in media, government, and education. He notes how truth is often sidelined for political gain and how leaders stray from foundational principles of governance. Dave and Tim explore how many problems the government tries to fix stem from the church neglecting its role in caring for the poor, elderly, and vulnerable. Dave stresses the importance of returning to simplicity—living by God's Word, valuing life, serving others, and trusting God's provision. They close by reminding listeners that belief and truth are not the same—truth always stands, and ultimate freedom is found in Christ. Dr. JB Hixson Today Mary welcomes back JB Hixson to chat about the gospel - what it is, and what it isn't. This week, President Trump expressed the idea that if he is able to settle the score between Putin and Zelenskyy and thereby save lives, wouldn't that be enough to get into heaven? Back in 2016, Trump met with 1000 evangelicals in New York, presumably to secure the evangelical vote. Since then he has surrounded himself with various believers of different stripes, and somehow evangelicals conclude that Trump is a true believer. Of course, those with our wits about us know that is not a reasonable conclusion. The math is all wrong. We discuss the everlasting gospel in depth and the grace that surrounds it - and then we go through a list of things that are presented as representing the true gospel but in truth are counterfeits. How can we know the fake gospels? How can the church be armed with the ways to combat these insidious fakes? A doctrinal hour with JB. Mary welcomes Mondo Gonzales today to talk prophecy - but not just in the way that simply confirms the interpretation of the day. Central to our conversation is the famous passage in Daniel 9:27 - "and he shall confirm a covenant with (the) many..." Prophecy teachers have generally taught that to be a peace treaty, making anyone who facilitated such a covenant either the Antichrist, or associated with him. But what if that isn't in view? Did you know that the word "peace" is nowhere to be found in that verse? From time to time, it's okay to step back from the pop prophecy that we have been taught and make sure we aren't torturing the text. To make sure we can defend our position FROM the text. A fascinating discussion. We also get a red heifer update, and talk 10 kings. Who are these guys that Daniel and Revelation 17 both say will get to rule with the Antichrist for a brief moment? Mondo Gonzales was a pastor for 16 years and also has a graduate degree in Biblical archaeology. He is the director of the Psalm 19 Project which has a university class observatory with three separate telescopes scanning and photographing the heavens. He also enjoys theology, running, and traveling. You can find him hosting the Prophecy Watchers TV program and podcast. His book, The Mystery of the Red Heifer was released in March. Tim and Mary take on those in this world that love to put "-crat" at the end of everything. After all, don't we all live in a "demo-cracy"? Well some do, and some don't. The core meaning of "-crat" is related to power and authority, in the context of government. And that 80s tune, "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" is becoming more prophetic as the years go on. The techno people think they do or will rule the world. The Eurocrats definitely are on their way to ruling the world, because the Bible says so and they are all to willing to comply. The Demo-crats, ever power hungry and angry want to take back the rule of the US and will just keep getting angrier until they get their way. So today, lots of crats to go around. We also discuss the death of the small farm, how mobile devices render our kids stupid, and Costco's decision not to carry the abortion pill. A full hour of global insanity, but one that we hope gives insight to the news cycle in light of Bible prophecy. Mary welcomes guest Richie Furay for our first Testimony Tuesday, as we look at his full and storied life as a member of pioneering bands Buffalo Springfield and Poco. With all that success, what drove him to his knees? How does a person reconcile or intersect the unique life of the spotlight, in the definitive 1960s no less, with the calling of a pastor and troubadour for Jesus? When he returned to Ohio for his Hall of Fame induction, he had a moment of clarity, that those two lives, and all the craziness, were both him, and God was in every moment. Sometimes we have a hard time reconciling our "two lives" as believers, we run from who we were in shame. But God. We talk to him about the early years, the fame years, and the ministry years. Richie and Nancy have been married since 1967, and as the family has grown up, their seasoning and maturity in Christ has had an impact for eternity. Keeping up with his energy level is always a great way to spend an hour. Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A
[Originally aired: 5/4/23] Chuck Girard, singer, songwriter, recording artist, and worship leader, is one of the pioneers of Contemporary Christian Music. He was co-founder and lead singer of the group LOVE SONG from it's beginning to the present. Born in Los Angeles, Chuck began playing music at an early age. In his teens, he formed a group called THE CASTELLS, which had two national top 20 hits. They also released the song “I Do”, which was produced by Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. Chuck shared the stage with stars such as Roy Orbison, Jan and Dean, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bobby Vee, and others. This led to a successful career as a studio singer and musician which included singing the lead vocals on THE HONDELLS first two albums and their biggest hit, “Little Honda.” In his early twenties Chuck became disillusioned with life, and like so many of his generation began experimenting with drugs. This led to a five-year search for God through LSD, eastern religion, and a committed “hippie” lifestyle. Rock & Roll Preacher - Chuck Girard After years of searching for meaning through drugs, Buddhism, sex, and Eastern philosophy, a long-haired hippie musician walked his bare feet into a little country church and encountered the living God. Confounded by the simplicity of the gospel, a young Chuck Girard dedicated his life to Jesus during the height of the sexual revolution and civil unrest that characterized the decade of the '60s. Along with thousands of other "Jesus Freaks" who came to be known as the Jesus Movement, Chuck's story was only just getting started. This raw and honest memoir is both refreshing and convicting. Mary welcomes back Usama Dakdok to lay a firm foundation on who exactly owns that contested piece of land called "Israel". Usama was born in Egypt and grew up in a Christian home. While in government schools in Egypt, he learned about Islam just as every other student does in a Muslim country. Usama also studied for a university degree in Egypt which included the study of Sharia, Islamic law. He first came to America in 1992. With all of his knowledge about Islam, he felt he could reach out to Muslim people in America with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thus he began The Straight Way of Grace Ministry. Today we ask ourselves, how did the world come to swallow the narrative of a land called Palestine and Palestinian people? Is it largely to erase Israel's claim to the land? It seems to be the Lie of the Century, when it comes to Bible prophecy at least. And all that antisemitism today? That's about that piece of land too. God's Word ties their redemption to that piece of real estate, so of course, it IS about that. Always educational with Usama. Mary welcomes new guest Dr. Corey Miller of Ratio Christi ministry. Corey Miller grew up in Utah as a 7th generation Mormon. He came to Christ and later became a pastor, philosophy professor, campus minister, and now serves as the president and CEO of Ratio Christi. He has authored or edited 5 books and holds 3 masters degrees and a PhD from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. His focus is on the intersection of faith, reason, and culture. His new book, “The Progressive Miseducation of America: Confronting the Cultural Revolution from the Classroom to Your Community” is set to release October 14. Today we discuss higher education's devolution into an echo chamber for leftist ideologies. Far from an actual education, today's ultra-liberal universities are really the gatekeepers for revolutionary ideas. We saw for ourselves how the curtain was pulled back to reveal rabid antisemitism from coast to coast. Is there any way to reclaim our once great educational institutions? On today's podcast, Tim and Mary Danielsen explore the news cycle, such as it is, changing minute by minute. We start out with a "wrong side of everything" story about the granddaughter of the man who owned the company that produced Zykon-B gas in mass quantities to rid the world of the Jews. Now, since she is adamantly "opposed to genocide", she has joined an upcoming flotilla to protest Israel's treatment of Gaza. It really doesn't get any more twisted than this - but her flotilla mates are quick to exclaim that "at least she is on the right side of history". We shall see about that. Along with all the nations who are going to actively oppose Israel's retake of Gaza. We take a look at the latest shunning of mRNA tech, and it's good news, as is the report that all federal records of those who had resisted or been exempted from the jab will find that their records have been destroyed. It's funny how that season of tyranny is finally past us without so much as a "gee you rebels were right all along" acknowledgment. We also take a look at a different form of tyranny in the EU where starting in October, the Powers That Be will be spying on their citizens' chats. No surprises there. Another week of on again off again global elite mischief and Jew hatred here in the last half of 2025. Mary welcomes new guest Elizabeth Urbanowicz, a follower of Jesus Christ who is passionate about equipping kids to understand the truth of the Christian worldview. Elizabeth began her professional career as an elementary teacher in a Christian school. Several years into her teaching experience, she realized that despite being raised in Christian homes, attending a Christian school, and being active in church, her students thought more like the culture than like Christ. She began searching for curricular materials that would equip her students to think critically, helping them discover that Christianity is the worldview that lines up with reality. After not finding any materials that met this need, she began creating a curriculum for her students. Today we look at how to move our kids forward, and pursue excellence in everything, at a time when the culture keeps going backwards everywhere we look. Counteracting a worldly worldview is a full time job. How can families and churches proactively keep their youth engaged with truth? What will it take, consistently and purposefully? A full hour with Elizabeth as we seek to begin to guard our hearts with all diligence and raise children to be confident, passionate lovers of truth. [Original airdate: 10/17/24] Mary welcomes back Pete Garcia for a conversation about the Apocalypse. The media is using "of biblical proportions" more and more to describe the world we are in. Climate change, economic meltdown, natural disasters ("birth pangs") and AI takeover of the human race all contribute to apocalyptic fear and fervor. We look at the exponential increase of these types of films over the last 100 years, as well as headlines that invoke fear. To what end? There are multiple answers to that question, but they do include keeping the masses fearful and in crisis mode, but also it plays right into the anticipation of the man with the answers - the Antichrist. Is there also a fear of death that these movies seem to bring actual consolation? Perhaps, since the phrase, "post-apocalyptic" is so common today, and describes those who have survived the worst and lived to tell, and renovate, and repopulate. A fascinating subject that ends with our hope, and how to spread that instead of terror. Pete Garcia is a military combat veteran and aviator, writer, researcher, speaker, and teacher of Bible prophecy and apologetics with a BA in International Relations and a graduate of the US Army's prestigious Command and General Staff College. He wrote for Jack Kinsella's The Omega Letter from 2011-2018. To date, he has written hundreds of articles that are carried on numerous websites and platforms.
Mary welcomes back Pastor Andy Woods to talk about the ongoing and often unpredictable hostilities in the Middle East. There seems to be no end to the back and forth politicization of every possible way to sway the west toward the current pro-Hamas agenda. From lies about starving children to the growing call for a Palestinian state, Israel is front and center of all the (big) news that is fit to print. We also discuss an insidious bill in the California Assembly designed to empower the state to control children; we look at those who have weighed in on that. Another topic is the Mesquite, TX mosque and its proselytizing of children who attend taxpayer funded schools. We don't necessarily need to explore who is behind it, but rather ask ourselves how is this being allowed to take place at all? Finally, we talk about EU censorship that has gone so far down the rabbit hole there is no going back. Andy Woods is Pastor of Sugarland Bible Church and is one of the very best systematic Bible teachers in the land. His YouTube channel is loaded with great content. Today Mary continues what she started back on July 24, looking long and hard at anxiety and the plague of worry that has many Americans - and a considerable number of believers - tied up in knots. Oftentimes, unfairly, we simply throw a Bible verse at a person who is living in a pattern of anxiety, as if that is an instant cure. And, technically, it is - but there is something about the hole of anxiety that seems to require some critical thinking, AND doing, to get free. Anxiety, and it's offspring, depression, (Proverbs 12:25) are not what God has for us, and so if we do find ourselves in such a season, there is no reason to founder and get sidetracked, or worse yet, shipwrecked. There are several practical things we can do and there IS a way forward. We look at psychology, an opposing worldview that offers no hope, and we talk about all the ways that anxiety wants to get hold and linger, even through spiritual warfare. Our enemy does not play fair. So, we will stare this down together and come away with tools to help, including getting past being our own worst enemy from time to time. Overcomers, we are. Tim and Mary take a look at the latest news cycle, with the specific underlying theme of the greatest headline in a generation, that of the modern nation of Israel. Much of the church has left the position of Israel being the main player in God's last days plan. What are some of the things we are following right now? The UN and their obsession with a 2-state solution has caused the world to think that 1) if they say it often enough it will happen, and 2) it IS the solution to the "Mideastmess". Israel expert Jim Fletcher asks the question, "what will happen when France (and other co-conspirators) declares a Palestinian state? Absolutely nothing. The US and Israel are nowhere to be found here politically or philosophically. Also today we talk about the 9th of Av, an annual commemoration and period of mourning in Israel that occurs each Summer at some point. This is a day to remember the destruction of both Jewish temples, but so much more - a very interesting dot-connecting exercise. We also look at why we call the Jews the "People of the Book", and why that matters today too. A full hour of news, factoids, and dots. Here's the video link discussed in the podcast (click here). PASTOR CLAUDE STAUFFER On today's podcast, we welcome back Pastor Claude Stauffer of Calvary Chapel of Hope in Amityville, NY. Pastor Claude is a graduate of Hofstra University (B.A. Sociology) and Asbury Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity). He has been in ministry since 1986 and presently serves as the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Hope, a church he has served from its beginning in 1993. He served bi-vocationally as a pastor and social worker for 16 years. He is the author of over 30 books, the latest of which is a thorough look at the person and work of the Holy Spirit and has a vital radio ministry to the Northeast and beyond. Today we look at the first few chapters of Zechariah in order to understand the who, what, and how of being used by Him. Primarily, the key verse is "Not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord " (Zech. 4:6). So much of what goes on in the church seems to point to a generation that thinks worship-tainment, a best-selling self-help book, and programs are the way to accomplish the work of God, when really, none of that works. It hasn't, and it won't. Zechariah and the Holy Spirit have a lot to say to us here in 2025. Pastor Claude's most excellent blog can be found here. His books can be found here, and many in electronic/Kindle format are available at no cost. On today's FRESH NEW Stand Up for the Truth podcast, host Dave Wager talks with Jeremy Lundgren, president of Nicolet Bible Institute and author of The Pursuit of Safety: A Theology of Danger, Risk, and Security. Together, they unpack what it really means to live safely in a world that doesn't guarantee it. From kids on playground slides to airline mechanics and foolproof machines, the conversation highlights how modern culture often confuses safety with control. Jeremy explains that true security begins with obedience to God. Drawing from Proverbs 19:16 and real-world examples, he shows that safety isn't about eliminating risk but about walking in wisdom and purpose. Dave and Jeremy also reflect on how we process fear, trust, and mortality in a fallen world. Whether it's cancer, car accidents, or uncertainty about the future, the conversation points listeners to the God who holds all things together. Jeremy emphasizes the difference between existing and truly living. Understanding our limitations helps us trust God's plan. From medieval medicine to modern technology, this episode explores how spiritual maturity, godly counsel, and biblical perspective help believers navigate danger without losing their sense of mission. Mary welcomes back the expert on all things AI, Patrick Wood; author, lecturer, economist and a leading and critical expert on Sustainable Development, Green Economy, Agenda 21, Agenda 2030 and Technocracy. Now more than ever we need his insights because the White House just released "America's AI Action Plan" which should concern us all. There is something uniquely oxymoronic about our President, on the one hand a nationalist with America's best interests in mind; born in a century with no tech and in a nation with completely different sensibilities on every level, and yet determined to see America lead the AI pace in the world. Of course you could easily argue he is just competitive, a driven dealmaker who always wins and really does want the best for Americans. And yet. AI is not something that is developed or dispensed by politicians or bureaucrats, but by technocrats who also want to win - and bring the world under the spell and bondage of artificial intel. What is this AI Action Plan and how will it affect our lives? We break it down and try to help the listener get a grasp on our Brave New Future, minus actual reality. Mary welcomes back Linda Harvey of Mission America to talk about the upcoming school year, and the propaganda calendar that is put into place from the moment they walk in the doors, to the last day in June during "Pride Month". We take a look at all the woke and brainwashing events that kids are subject to, none of which have anything to do with the concept of education. Wouldn't it be great to have, say, something like "Holocaust Remembrance Day" to key in on actual injustice, historically factual and worthy of study? Or is it better to teach on perversion and shame those kids who don't want to partake? Is it possible for our kids to be change agents, or is opting out the best choice? We also look at some rulings that might allow a lot of these weekly LGBTQ events to go away quietly. Teaching kids to make it in the real world with academics would be quite the concept in schools today. Linda is on the front lines of the culture wars and she is up on all the things we need to watch in order to protect our families. Originally coined in the 1990's, the Information Superhighway was a term used to describe digital communication systems that is mostly associated with then Senator and future Vice President Al Gore. The basic idea was to be able to provide access to information to all, no matter what the level of income was. With the explosion of the World Wide Web, essentially, the Internet became the information superhighway. Other resources describe the concept as “…directly connects millions of people, each both a consumer of information and a potential provider…” or “a route or network for the high-speed transfer of information…” or “something that will link every home or office to everything else – movies and television shows, shopping services…” And it changed the world. No one saw it coming, any more than people alive in 1890 anticipated the US Freeway system. With that in mind, today's news cycle gets some context as we talk about all the headlines fit for a Wednesday! We start off with trending news, including the historical 8.8 quake in far eastern Russia. Is it one of the biggest in history as is being claimed? Then we talk about the Trump EU tariff deal and what it means for geopolitics. Tim takes on hurricanes and the frequency of those over the last couple years, and it's probably for a reason you did not expect. We look at an immigration warning for America based on the July deal signed between Starmer and Macron. Finally, AI is spiritual. Sci-Fi has told us it is forever in the future, but truly, it's here - and we still think it's in the future. A fertile ground for massive deception. Dr. JB Hixson Stand Up welcomes back JB Hixson to talk about faith and the free exercise thereof. What begins as that which saves us opens a door to a brand new life as a new creation. As we begin this life, what is important? Faith comes by hearing so that systematic study of the Scriptures must undergird all we do as our hearts and minds are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, the same power that rose our Saviour from the grave. Walking by faith then is the workout of our lives! What does that look like? Of course, God has a different path for each of us and no one can walk that walk for us. But God's word applies to ALL of us! What a glorious operating manual for all things pertaining to life and godliness. All means all here, we can assume that. So as we move forward, what are some of the things that might challenge our faith, make it like gold tried in the furnace? When things don't make sense, when our prayers seem to bounce off the ceiling, when people hurt us or betray us or when tragedy strikes, what is our response? Does the response change from year to year as we move forward in Christ? Growing beyond our circumstances prepares us for eternity. Life is hard and full of challenges but faith, along with hope and love, remain. An encouraging hour with Pastor JB. [Original airdate: 7/12/24] Mary Danielsen chats with Creation instructor Brian Young about the genetic code of life and how God designed it to adapt to life in a fallen world. In Colossians we learn that God holds all things together until the day He dissolves it all in favor of a new heavens and a new earth. Until then, all of creation is groaning and travailing. How was the curse manifested in all we see and perceive? Epigenetics is the latest subject in the area of DNA and genetics and further combats evolution. Brian is an internationally known speaker and author, was a teacher and principal for ten years before becoming director of Creation Instruction Association and has a creation museum in Broken Bow, Nebraska. He has been doing high energy talks on the topic of creation and Biblical authority for over 25 years, doing debates at Universities, going into prisons, and sharing at churches, schools and camps around the world to kids and adults alike. He uses scientific demonstrations and high-energy talks filled with Scripture and science, all to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to lift up Biblical authority in every aspect of life. A fascinating hour.
John Haller is back to bring us headlines from any and every corner and byway of the "information superhighway". Remember when the internet was called that? A highway of information, bumper to bumper and filled with potholes? Well, they had that right. And it's very hard to find an exit ramp if you are on it, because it gets weirder by the day. Today we talk about a treasonous conspiracy that frankly, most Americans will not have any trouble believing - the Clinton/Obama/DOJ/Biden mafia circle of influence on American politics circa 2016. We all know that something went really wrong and still, few of us think anything will come of it. We also talk about AI and the dangers, which change daily - and affect every person in the Western world at least. For now. Soon enough it will engulf the globe via technocracy. Then there's Turkey and it's love fest with Qatar. Back in 2023, following the Hamas brutality against Israel, Qatar was hosting some negotiations, something that should have sent up multiple red flags. Just whom is in bed with whom over there? John helps us sort all that out in today's installment of Stand Up for the Truth. You can find John's excellent and timely updates on the FBC YouTube channel. Did you ever wake up in the morning with rampant negativity sucking the life out of you? The flesh just doesn't want to face the same troubles and anxieties you went to bed with. This is not only common, but it is also a sure way for the enemy of hope to get us defeated before we even put one foot on the floor. Recognizing the pattern is the start of traveling more hopefully, taking those thoughts captive. Today we look at some of the ways to be more hopeful, be less gullible, and all in all have a more positive outlook that stems from unshakeable faith in the Lord, for everything big and small. If the enemy's greatest tool is deception, our most potent weapon is truth and lots of it. I always figure, if we are not depressed from time to time, we aren't paying close enough attention. But that needn't be our way of life. Head into the wind, against the current - that would be us, and we get weary. Sometimes we get anxious, and it can be debilitating. How can we get that out of our lives? Is it possible? Oh yes. Talking hope in the midst of whatever, we all need that. Let's continue to walk each other home with hearts knit together in love, full of faith and - HOPE. Another Wednesday, another news round up! Tim and Mary capture a slice of global living with Canada's antisemitism problem, AI malfunctions, and various topics that point to a culture that you might think cannot hold together for long. Why is Canada so infected with Israel Derangement Syndrome? What possesses the PA to condemn a food truck rally in Jerusalem for being too Jewish? Psychotic levels of envy? Possibly. We also look at a great piece on archaeology as apologetic - with no absence of evidence anymore of the historical accuracy for the Bible, how does this change how we present truth to people, here in the 21st century? And if you think back on your worst day on the job, it likely won't hold a candle to the guy whose rogue AI task went berserk. Speaking of berserk, try not to let the day's lunacy override your hope in all things biblical. Mary welcomes back Juan Valdes of Reasons for Hope to discuss the hows and whys of critical thinking in a post-truth world. Humans bring many biases, indoctrinations and emotions to so many issues of the day, and seem content to take most things at face value instead of thinking things through in context. Words have meaning, and even before we speak, our thoughts have already given birth to a multitude of possible words - and actions. No believer can ever hope to be an effective apologist without understanding the importance of thinking things through - with the goal of giving an answer to all who ask about our hope. Social media, in fact, is probably the main contributor to the destruction of meaningful discourse in the public square. We talk about how critical thinking is indispensable in our lives at any age. Juan is the senior pastor of a Spanish-speaking congregation in Florida and has worked at a Christian school as both a chaplain and a teacher for more than 20 years. His educational background includes graduate work at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and master's degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and Logos Graduate School. He has a Doctor of Ministry in Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary. As an educated and experienced teacher of apologetics, Juan has taught Bible and Introduction to Philosophy at the High School level, and Theology, Bible, and Apologetics at the seminary level, in both English and Spanish. What does it mean to be ready to explain your hope in Christ? In this thought-provoking episode, Dave Wager welcomes Joel Settecase of the Think Institute to unpack the biblical foundation of apologetics. With 1 Peter 3:15 as the anchor, the two dive into how believers of all ages—from kids to college grads—can share and defend their faith with boldness, grace, and simplicity. Whether you're a lifelong Christian who's never questioned God's existence or someone who regularly engages skeptics, this conversation offers practical insights on how to communicate truth with confidence. From explaining the Greek word apologia to navigating the objections of today's culture, Joel outlines a three-step method rooted in Scripture: ask good questions, expose contradictions, and point people to Christ. Dave brings it home with down-to-earth illustrations (yes, even a pen becomes a teaching tool), reminding listeners that God doesn't need us—but He wants us. If you've ever felt unqualified to talk about your faith, this episode will equip and encourage you to stand up for the truth—wherever God has placed you. Mary welcomes back Bible teacher, student and watchman Lee Brainard to discuss sensationalizing Bible prophecy, especially in the areas of politics and events in nature. Today, with biblical illiteracy at an all time high, it stands to reason that Christians have no meat on their bones when it comes to the systematic study of prophecy. Whereas formerly, the topics of prophecy were centered around Israel, a global government, a global spirituality and a world wide economy powered by technology, suddenly everything is prophetic, and it's getting noisier out there. Time to bring things back into focus. And there are more blood moons coming, which means sensationalizing the heavens will also be rampant. Who is teaching this and why? We also discuss the New Wine Pentecost movement. What is it, is it biblical? Is it date setting at the core? Who is promoting it and why should we care? Sometimes following social media Bible prophecy sites more resembles a nursery rhyme than the truth. A cat, playing a fiddle, a cow and the moon makes more sense most days. And that dish that ran away with the spoon? Stay tuned. Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A
Mary welcomes back Russ Miller to talk about science in general, and how not all science is reliable, except of course that which originates from God - and constitutes truth. Truly, the point of divergence between secular, historical science and operational science paradigms is TIME. Genesis starts out with "in the beginning", and humans who refuse the literal interpretation of creation have decided that the earth must be billions of years old, and that eventually, time and chance would produce mankind, after an extended period of death. Now, that sounds crazy to the believer but if you insist on proving the Bible wrong, this is your starting point, to claim mankind just appeared and there was no original sin. Secular Nobel scientist George Wald puts it perfectly: “Time is in fact the hero of the plot...given so much time, the impossible becomes possible, the possible probable, and the probable virtually certain. One has only to wait; time itself performs the miracles...” A quote only those who refuse to believe the Bible could love! Talk about exchanging the truth of God for a lie! Russ helps us understand the differences between operational and historical science, and why believers must understand how this forms our worldview. An eye opening hour with one of the most articulate creationists of our day. Tim and Mary come bearing headlines for another round of news and commentary. Today we discuss persecution in America, as anti-Christian rhetoric ramps up in diverse places. Last week we chatted with Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs to learn about our church family overseas; today we talk about perils in the US - and opportunities to stand firm for the faith. We also look at the latest with the IRS statement allowing pulpits to promote political candidates. Good, bad, ugly? Freedom of speech is always good, and just because it comes from the side of those who preach morals and are pro-life, doesn't make it less valuable. In fact, the world needs more words of value spoken by God's people on many subjects. But, we also have people in pews who think differently about politics and candidates. Is this a breeding ground for divisiveness, and what about those who really don't come to church to hear about politics on any level? Just askin'. We also talk about the 2-state solution and hostility against Jews. Did we really think we would be left out of that danger zone, where our Jewish brethren are suffering for their beliefs but not the church? Mary welcomes back prophecy teacher Britt Gillette who also brings a lot of financial expertise with him to the podcast. Today we talk about the stock market, something many of us don't truly understand but has a deep impact on our economy, both national and international. What does it mean that the market is over 40,000 when in 1968 it closed at just over 900? We also look at the real estate market. Then we venture into AI when it comes to relationships. There are people out there, those we might call unstable, who are looking to chatbots for deep relationships. What a friend we have in -- AI? Is it time to unfriend these platforms? Especially when we consider that AI could deceive on a biblical level when people look to it to recreate their post-mortem loved ones. Why do people see AI as having human natures? Is this an emotional attachment that is due to a lack of real people in their lives? At the deepest level, this is not just disturbing but very sad. An eye-opening hour with Britt. [Original airdate: 7/2/24] Mary chats with TA McMahon of The Berean Call about the nature of so many false teachings today, and the various reactions by the church as to what, if anything, can be done about it. Why is there so much apostasy? The bible says we have a choice, that we must choose to enter by the strait gate, and yet "few there be that find it." When the church started to go through many different phases in the last 30 years or so, many believers didn't follow up on warnings, and as such it has become very difficult to keep up. And to say there is sorcery in the church, that is something many may not understand; but through the New Age and experientially-based Christianity, this has indeed become the case. Times ahead may get tougher, so we have to ask ourselves, are we standing firm on the foundation of truth?
Mary welcomes back Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs to give us perspective on one of those things that should drive us to our knees: our persecuted brethren around the world. Todd is the Chief of Media Relations and Message Integration for The Voice of the Martyrs—USA and host of The Voice of the Martyrs Radio. Todd serves as an advocate for persecuted Christians, inspiring US Christians with the faithfulness of Christ's followers in 70+ nations where they face persecution for wearing His name. VOM is constantly ministering to and providing resources for our church family that has truly counted the cost of serving Jesus Christ. We talk about the latest hotspots, some of the faces and stories he encounters, and how the church can come alongside. In the 2nd half of the podcast, Mary wraps up another week with some pertinent headlines, including some fascinating stories about Britain's lead in technology, the ramping up of violence toward American churches, and Pope Leo's green agenda. NO VIDEO PODCAST TODAY.
Today, Mary takes on a topic that may be hard to hear, but is necessary, and few in the church are speaking out about it. The passage is 2 Timothy 3:1-5. When the Bible talks about perilous times, we tend to think about those headlines that appear suddenly and stand the world on its head - birth pangs, wars and rumours, Israel. And yet these verses point to a peril no one wants to talk about: the human heart. And not of unbelievers, but in the church. How in the world did we get here, loving self more than God? And yet, churches are battling this ill more and more to the point where believers are staying away. Yes, lack of sound doctrine plays a part - sometimes. But when narcissism begins to work its evil throughout a church, flowing primarily from controlling and unaccountable leadership, who is watching out for the sheep? What is a "form of godliness"? Why does Paul say to avoid such? What are the qualifications for pulpit ministry? Christians tend to be gracious and put up with a lot of mischief from leadership, as long as the doctrine is sound. But what does God think about those who mistreat His people? Let's let the Word do the talking on this one, but talk about it we must. The gentiles lord it over others, but it should "not be so among you". A challenging hour on an elephant-in-the-room topic. PDF transcription - click here. Tim and Mary take on the news cycle this week by talking about the latest with Israel, Islam, the culture around us, and more. We talk about the death of the abortion pill inventor at 98; a Middle East roundup centered on Netanyahu's visit with Trump this week; and a health watch segment. What is a corporate farm exactly, and why should we care whether we have happy contented cows? Lots of reasons, and we also look at RFK Jr's take on health "wearables" - those devices that we are promised will make life easier if we are tracked 24 hours a day and our biometric markers are seen by whomever gets a hold of our data. What could possibly go wrong? Finally we look at Toyota's "Woven City" - a smart city on steroids, that is either the crowning achievement of technocrats or the creepiest thing I have ever read about. Your call. Does it seem like it's getting darker, earlier? A full hour of news and commentary. NOT Elijah Abraham Mary welcomes back Elijah Abraham to catch up on his travels and discuss the "civilizational shift" that Islam is aiming for around the globe. Elijah has a pastors' heart for the lost, and to communicate the dangers of the spread of Islam around the globe, including in the US. We will talk about his trips to various nations to spread the gospel and equip pastors to defend the faith. His ministry, Living Oasis, exists to make the most of every day and season to warn the church about the true intentions of Islam and the subjugation of all non-Muslims, or "infidels". We talk about what's currently going on in Texas and New York, as well as other areas of our nation. Why are officials seemingly turning a blind eye to the establishment of Islamic communities right under our noses? Will they lead to establishment of Sharia law then naturally? Is there any way to keep Islamic politicians from gaining positions of influence in our major cities? How can the church engage the local Muslim community and get to know them on a more personal level? A timely update from Elijah. It's a new episode of Stand Up For The Truth with host Dave Wager, featuring a heartfelt conversation with longtime friend and guest, Heidi. Heidi shares her journey of faith that began as a young camper at Silver Birch Ranch, where she first trusted Christ—and how that same faith is carrying her now through a cancer diagnosis. With honesty and warmth, she and Dave reflect on God's provision in the midst of trials, drawing from Psalm 119:71: “My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.” This episode offers an encouraging reminder that even in hardship, God is not absent—He is teaching, refining, and holding us steady. Listeners will hear personal stories of how Heidi and her family are walking through treatment with peace and purpose. From the faithfulness of God in hospital rooms to the small acts of love from her children at home, her testimony points to a deeper truth: suffering doesn't define us—God does. If you've ever wondered how to trust God when life takes a hard turn, this conversation will meet you where you are and gently lift your eyes to the One who never lets go. NEW PODCAST: On this special solo edition of Stand Up For The Truth, Dave Wager asks a loaded question many of us don't stop to think through: What are we really asking when we sing “God Bless America”? This isn't just about waving flags or reciting patriotic songs. Dave unpacks the biblical reality that blessing always comes with responsibility. Drawing from Psalm 33:12—“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”—he challenges listeners to consider whether we're seeking comfort or commissioning. Have we used our blessings to glorify God and serve others, or have we settled into comfort and forgotten the Giver? From the roots of Irving Berlin's famous song to the fiery furnace of Daniel 3, Dave walks us through what true loyalty looks like—loyalty to God first, even when national pride gets loud. Patriotism isn't wrong, he says, as long as it doesn't eclipse obedience to the Lord. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego didn't start a rebellion, but they drew a clear line. The call is the same for us today: respect authority, pray for leaders, and live lives marked by godliness and dignity—but never bow to what contradicts God's Word.
In today's installment of headline news, Tim and Mary take a look at the continued quest by Islam to rule and reign, especially in the West. Immigration is only a part of the tale, because the end game is vast and if we didn't have the peace of Christ, we might just be alarmed. But the world, the political factions, should be very afraid; perhaps the media is waking up to what is at stake. When Trump went after Iran, could anyone be so naive as to think there wouldn't be ramifications beyond protecting Israel? Two sides of the same coin should tell us that Trump poked a hornet's nest and Iran is going to show its fury at some point, the complexity of the Middle East should tell us that. Meanwhile, the NYC dem is under a vast microscope, being that he is a "twelver" - part of Islamic eschatological thought. Will America get Islamic politicians across the fruited plain? That's what Islam is hoping for. Texas was just the beginning. We also discuss earth religion and more. Not as the world gives, the peace of Christ is beyond understanding. Mary welcomes back David Bowen to discuss the existential aspect of AI. Those who study the end times from the perspective of the human heart and the angst that biblical events will create probably already understood where this was going. Humans tend to gravitate toward something or someone to worship that preferably doesn't include accountability to a just and holy creator God. They would rather have a spurious, arbitrary God than one that holds them accountable for their sin and the rejection of the One that represents our deepest need. One that has a beginning and an end so they can philosophize about how brilliant they themselves are. Worship of self, intellect, and general idolatry are the general categories of the Church of AI. Yet the Ai-theist knows full well that this is an impersonal, cold god of their own making. Interestingly enough, they have a catechism, creeds and practices. Since they borrow so heavily from Christianity it is difficult to take them seriously but that's clearly not any of their concern. As we have seen, intelligence that is real has a creator, as does intelligence that is artificial, but both cannot possibly be a source for truth that is beyond the human intellect.
