Ep. 32 - All Hail The Queen featuring DJ Krisy and Madhat It’s our first birthday and it’s an honour to be joined by the legendary DJ Krisy and MC Madhat for the 32nd instalment of Beers, Beats & The Biz. Krisy started breaking around 84, painting graffiti not long after and launched her seminal radio show, Steppin to the AM in 89/90. Her partner Madhat is a B-Boy, writer and was a member of Positive Direction, Acapulco Gold and Towering Inferno - alongside Lazy Grey and DJ Damage. We talk it all from the Street Style Breakers to Krisy partnering with Tiff and painting some of history’s most iconic walls. We talk Madhat’s time at the writers bench, on the streets of Melbourne and his travels as a member of Australian hip hop culture’s earliest crews. We talk about the influence of AKA and DJ C, we talk the Betty Boop wall, panels, Richmond station’s writers bench, Acapulco Gold, Brisbane’s St Valentines Massacre show, travelling, Big Bamboo, connecting with others before the internet and the sheer influence of Krisy and her radio show Steppin to the AM.
