The COVID-19 pandemic gave government authoritarians the opportunity to exploit the public's fear to seize power. It was shocking to see how quickly many people were willing to abandon their principles for the promise of protection, but it's hardly the first time this has happened. Matt Kibbe sits down with Logan Albright, head writer at Free the People and author of "Freedom over Fear," to discuss the history of the politicians and bureaucrats using the rhetoric of fear to consolidate their own power and strip the citizens of their civil liberties. From xenophobia during war, to FDR's economic fascism during the Great Depression, to surrendering privacy in the name of anti-terrorism, to moral panics about the corruption of children, both the political Left and Right will take any chance to scare us as long as we keep letting them. Free the People's head writer Logan Albright joins me to discuss his new book 'Freedom Over Fear.' We will discuss the idea behind the book, why he choose to write it, and what can be done to stop the government from utilizing fear to control the population.“COVID lockdowns taught us that too many people are quick to surrender freedom when they are afraid. But this isn't the first time government has stoked the public's fears to seize power, and unless we learn from history, it won't be the last.” -Rep. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was designed to prevent the church from running the government and vice versa. In contrast to European countries where church and state were synonymous, America was founded on the belief that people should be free to practice any faith they chose, and the result is one of the most diverse religious landscapes in the world. Matt Kibbe sits down with Logan Albright, head writer for Free the People and author of “Libertarian Paganism: Freedom and Responsibility in Nature-Based Spirituality,” to discuss one of the fastest-growing religions in America and what its values have in common with libertarian ideals of individual freedom, non-violence, privacy, and personal responsibility.

Those who love and defend personal freedom catch a lot of hate these days from both wings of the uniparty. Logan Albright has some great insights on how liberty has become the universal scapegoat. Fear is a useful tool in the hands of activists. Laura Dodsworth explains how the green agenda is fueled by fear as climate alarmists try to terrify us into changing our behavior. Cities have long been equated with civilization but things are changing. Doug Casey makes a strong case that the ongoing deterioration of large cities may be a signal that it's time to relocate. The fight over school choice is largely driven by resistance to the introduction of woke ideology and indoctrination into our government schools. Brandon Smith says the next generation is being groomed for destruction. Article of the Day: To fully grasp the irrationality of the ruling class towards former president Trump, it's necessary to follow the timeline of madness that began more than 7 years ago. Sasha Stone is a former Democrat and leftist who broke out of the bubble during the covid madness. Her take on Trump and the seeds of hysteria is enlightening. It's hard to appreciate just how thoroughly corrupted the federal "justice" system has become unless you've experienced it first hand. Eric Parker joins me to discuss his trial experience following Bundy Ranch as well as the current Jan 6 show trials. Are FBI agents being pressured to create criminal plots that can be blamed on the political right? Julie Kelly says it's time to investigate the FBI's sketchy confidential human source program as well as it's highly politicized brand of enforcement. If you find yourself in need of a bit of nourishment for your soul, Barry Brownstein delivers. Start with his essay on how thoughts and prayers rule the world and find time to examine the two bonus essays linked within. It's stressful when so many things are changing all around us. Richard Morrison's review of Entrepreneur magazine editor-in-chief Jason Feifer's take on how to stop panicking and embrace the future points to some timely advice. What could we possibly learn from a 5th Century Roman about finding happiness in a world filled with pain, loss and injustice? Matt Kibbe is joined by Logan Albright, head writer at Free the People and author of Conform or Be Cast Out, to discuss the numerous and varied evils of the nation's least favorite tradition: Daylight Savings Time. Bad for your health and unjustified by any objective metric, the process of springing forward and falling back also demonstrates man's hubris in trying to put a whole nation out of sync with the natural rhythms of the Earth and sun. Meanwhile, a new bill being ushered through Congress, The Sunshine Protection Act, would apparently rid us of this blight once and for all, yet, in typical government fashion, might actually make things even worse. Matt Kibbe is joined by Logan Albright, head writer for Free the People and author of “Conform or Be Cast Out: The (Literal) Demonization of Nonconformists.” Together they discuss the ways in which the ruling elites have attempted to enforce conformity on the population using stigma, shaming, and often physical violence. Although the book was written before the outbreak of COVID-19, the cost of being a nonconformist has suddenly become very real to the millions of people threatened with losing their jobs or their access to the basic functions of society. And although a certain amount of conformity is sometimes necessary to maintain harmony, it is ultimately those who dare to be different who move the world forward toward new frontiers.
Author Logan Albright returns to the show to discuss his newest book, "Conform or Be Cast Out" where he explores the cultural, historical, and religious reasons that societies and groups of people cast out non-conformists. Logan Albright makes the argument that we need to promote nonconformity. His book, "Conform Or Be Cast Out", specifically focuses on the ways in which society has historically identified those who are different with literal evil, whether it be demonic possession, witchcraft, or devil worship, and covers everything from religious freedom to medical abnormalities. Also, how does this conformity mindset impact our modern discourse as it pertains to COVID? Buy Conform Or Be Cast Out Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Free the People's Mike Feuz and Logan Albright discuss two different approaches to libertarian thought. Should individual liberty be considered an absolute end worth pursuing, or is there such a thing as liberty held in common among a society, for which its occasionally okay to sacrifice some individual liberty?
