Tell us what you though of the episodeIn this episode, host Jawad Nir interviews composer Adam Price, whose music enriches Paramount Plus's "The Crow Girl." Adam shares insights into crafting evocative soundscapes, drawing on his experience with iconic projects like "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning" and "Black Adam," as well as his collaborations with master composer Lorne Balfe. The Crow Girl is a 2025 television series based on the Crow Girl book series by Erik Axl Sund, adapted by Milly Thomas for Paramount+. All episodes released on 16 January 2025. It begins in a Stockholm city park where the abused body of a young boy is discovered. Detective Superintendent Jeanette Kihlberg heads the investigation, battling an apathetic prosecutor and a bureaucratic police force unwilling to devote resources to solving the murder of an immigrant child. But with the discovery of the mutilated corpses of two more children, it becomes clear that a serial killer is at large. Adam Price is a composer for film and television, known for his bold, gritty sound that blends contemporary electronic textures with traditional orchestral scoring. He recently scored Paramount's thriller APARTMENT 7A, starring Julia Garner and produced by Michael Bay and John Krasinski, and has also written the music for the upcoming Paramount+ UK series  THE CROW GIRL, collaborating with Guns 'n' Roses lead guitarist Slash on the score. Additionally, Adam has contributed music to blockbuster films such as MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING, ARGYLLE, and DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, solidifying his reputation as a versatile composer. http://twitter.com/dreamingkingdomhttp://instagram.com/kingdomofdreamspodcasthttp://facebook.com/kingdomofdreamspodcast Watch the feature films that I have directedCitizen of Moria - https://rb.gy/azpsuIn Search of My Sister - https://rb.gy/1ke21Official Website - www.jawadmir.com

Hi Alkimists! Welcome to another episode of LabTalks! This week Chandru and Milly were joined by special guest Thomas Scovell! You all know him as THE Alkimist and the Alkimi lead community manager. Thomas is Chief Strategy Officer for New Zealand's largest independent advertising agency and has spent the last two decades in NZ and London, leading the marketing for some of the world's best-known brands and winning awards for digital innovation, brand strategy, and creative direction. This week we wanted to talk about something that we know has been a big impact on our community at the moment- safety and security. The guys talked through some scams to look out for, how best you can protect yourself, and finally what Alkimi is doing to protect you. We hope this can help at least 1 person to avoid a scammer. This week I had the absolute pleasure of going round to have a coffee with writer and actor Milly Thomas. She's written a whole host of plays but it's Dust - a really frank, portrait of suicide and what comes after it - that we talk about most during our conversation. We also discuss portrayals of mental health in pop culture, the music that's guaranteed to make her cry in a Pret, and the Gordon Ramsay one-liners that make her spit tea at her laptop. Extremely mixed genres there but it works.

Milly Thomas doesn’t pull any punches in either her acting or her writing, and her latest play "Dust" tackles the issue of depression and suicide head on with no apologies. In one of our most honest chats to date, I sat down with Milly Thomas to talk to her about the genesis of her show, its journey to the West End, and all of the emotions contained therein.

This year’s Edinburgh International Book Festival featured a series of events subtitled “a theatrical exploration”, in which well-known Scottish novels were partly staged by a director, scriptwriter and actors produced in association with Edinburgh’s Lyceum Theatre. One the three novels explored in this way was Booker-nominated His Bloody Project by Graeme Macrae Burnet, who spoke to BTG editor David Chadderton about his involvement with the project on a busy final Saturday at the 2017 Book Festival. Also, Philip Fisher spoke to Milly Thomas who, after this interview was recorded, won a Stage Edinburgh Award for her performance in Dust, a self-penned piece directed by Sara Joyce for this year's Edinburgh Fringe.
