Nolan Stolz is a composer, scholar, drummer, and music professor living in Spartanburg, SC. Born in Milwaukee, WI, Stolz grew up in Las Vegas, NV, where he worked as a freelance jazz drummer for several years. Today, he is a Professor of Music at the University of South Carolina Upstate, where he teaches composition, music theory, and popular music studies. Although firmly rooted in the contemporary classical tradition, his compositions are influenced by his performance background in jazz and rock. Fanfare Magazine called his Lincoln Highway Suite for orchestra a “brilliant piece of Americana. . .a piece of inspiration and skill,” saying that the “orchestration is brilliantly managed” and “Stolz has a fine repository of [melodies] in his back pocket.” The Brno Philharmonic's recording of that work (on Orchestral Masters, Vol. 5) was awarded second place in the American Prize in 2020. Other studio recordings include Princess Ka‘iulani for flute on SCI's Modes album, Catharsis II for piano quartet on Millennial Masters Vol. 3, Lullaby for Sam for guitar on Aaron Larget-Caplan's New Lullaby, and several others. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/experimentalfilmpodcast/support

I'm not sure why that is because if you listen to the music that they create Trailers,Straight ahead film scores, action, drama, you name it the only difference is creativity and style … which is not gender specific.AND if a score requires great sensitivity, female composers at least in my opinion win hands-down. Elena Mary is an extraordinary composer and her energy and dedication should be an inspiration to anyone considering this field of work and a career as a Music Composer. Interestingly enough, Elena Maro is  also married  Marco Antonini  another rising star composer on the Hollywood music scene. In this engaging episode, we delve into the creative processes and philosophies of Music Composer & Music Producer Dario, who emphasizes the importance of evolving with the ever-changing sync industry. Dario discusses the significance of constantly acquiring new instruments and plugins to stay inspired and invigorate his creative process. He highlights his preference for tactile interaction with real instruments, which often sparks new ideas and unique sounds that samples cannot replicate. The conversation also covers the potential impact of AI on music, with Dario advocating for maintaining the human touch in creation, believing that AI cannot fully replicate the authenticity and emotional depth of hands-on music-making. Additionally, the episode explores Dario's experimental EP "Anomaly," a purely artistic project blending organic and synthetic elements, showcasing his ability to push creative boundaries without commercial constraints. He emphasizes the value of collaboration, working with lyricists and other musicians to enhance his projects and bring out the best in each endeavor. Reflecting on the importance of both formal education and self-taught skills, Dario encourages musicians to master core skills while exploring new technologies and techniques. Leeds-based Italian-born artist Stella Wembley  began her musical career in Italy as a soprano while studying opera at the Royal Conservatory of Music "San Pietro a Majella" in Naples. Upon graduating, she found limited opportunities on the Italian music scene, she moved to London in 2017, where she found inspiration and avenues as a musician, performing at venues in Leeds, Blackpool and London. She is a  vocalist, lyricist, composer, music producer and video director. She  released  her 'Wasting My Time' EP, a four-track release of sheer electro-goth delight surrounding the track 'Wasting My Time'.  The loop- and arpeggio-driven synth backdrop feeds a retro new-wave vibe, and the catchy chorus underlines multiple conflicting sensations from dark melancholy to fiery self-expression, while exploring the esoteric and mystical and ultimately death, rebirth and destiny. Wembley has collaborated and performed with Lloyd Price (The Frixion), Auger, Inkubus Sukkubus, Zeitgeist Zero, Last July, Rome Burns and Machine Rox. Stella is currently working on her new album "The Alchemy of the Dark Arts'," which will feature Michael Ciravolo (a.k.a. Kris A. Truini was born in Middletown, Connecticut, and was raised in Italy until the age of 15. There, he first discovered his passion for film when he was 8 years old and has been making videos ever since. With little to no help for his first videos, he had to explore and learn as much as possible on every aspect involved in completing a film from start to finish. He acquired a good knowledge of software such as 3DS Max, After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere, Final Cut Pro X, FL Studio, along with other 3D applications, tracking programs and non-linear editors.  At the age of 15, he left his parents to go continue his school studies in the United States. He began to make tutorials and short videos posted on YouTube in the channel Kriscoart Productions. In the summer of 2010, he attended a film school at Maine Media Workshops.  After graduating high school in 2012, he moved to Florida to enroll in Full Sail University. There he continued to make videos and short films. One of his directing teachers offered him the position of Director of Photography, Editor, and Music Composer for his short REVERSE. His next short SPECULUM was a Finalist at the 2013 StartFest Florida Film Festival. Kriscoart currently has over 436 Subscribers. In this Podcast, Allan McKay interviews Kris Truini, the Creator of a successful YouTube Channel Kriscoart, about the inspiration for his Channel, the importance of building a supportive creative community, how to get over creative blocks, the future of AI, why both self-doubt and perseverance are part of the creative process, and so much more!
