July 25th 2013 - Listen.... hear and wow! Fantastic to post a new show in the middle of summer! No summer break this season; here’s a very cool episode filled with the best electronica for your hot summer nights... The track Dreams by Astronaut Ape is coming from the brand new Microcosmos Records release called ‘Ten Minutes Eternity’. File this one under Cinematic Ambient or Soundtrack Electronica if you will.... We are in the World of Sleepers now... Carbon Based Lifeforms still amazes every time I listen to the album; pretty unique release with sweet melodic ambient tracks that one will never forget. And then... iWorld 2.0 by Astronaut Ape. Wow....! Speaking of perfect combinations sound wise: this track says it all, the beats, the synths, the claps, the echoes, the bassline; sweet and melodic so we can drift away further and further into deeper space now... On the train from Berlin to Rotterdam I was listening to older Ultimae releases when this one was on my headphones; James Murray’s album ‘When Edges Meet’ is one of those albums making you feel funny in the head... after listening to couple of tracks back to back, you’ll feel pretty disoriented in a positive sense: this is pure ambient adventure! Satisfaction guaranteed. May God have Mercy on his Sounds and Soul... the Labyrinth series by the late Pete Namlook ft. Lorenzo Montanà. Probably the best Namlook series in our collection... These two souls have worked out an intense chemistry between their musical styles.... Where beauty meets percussion is exactly where Namlook met Montanà. This release should be in every person’s collection! Nice and easy we flow into the final part of this journey... Meg Bowles album ‘The Shimmering Land’ is a beautiful place, where we can sit, walk and think about what we’ve seen so far, what plans we have for the future, it’s like walking on ‘The Isle of Dream’ and that is exactly the title of this track in the mix... Divine Emanation is the logical conclusion for Spacemusic 8.13.... hear and wow! Anima delivers a divine album called ‘Light of Aluna’. Words are not necessary, just listen to this final track (excerpt) and you’ll be ready for a great night of sleep or a big day to be alive and enjoy! March 24th 2013 - the coldest day of this century, at least in Holland. The wind is cutting faces today so we stay inside, listen to music, sleep some extra, and record this legendary show series, Lucid Dreams. This volume 5 will take you away from your daily life, further from the ground than ever before. It’s time to dream. The opening is done by Ben Cox, from his album On Water it sets the tone to kind of ‘Jazzy’ atmospheres which makes it possible to go anywhere... The Montreal duo Elsiane performs a track that you’ll only hear on a show like this... Vertigone is not your average song, but most excellent as the glue between Ben Cox and Steve Roach, the Back to Life album shows another super ambient side of Steve; we go deeper now, total relaxation, switch of the ‘Think’ mode. We’ve arrived now @ the Luna project of Syngate Records, Pete Farn dreams along in the Schwebewald. Completely unique sound and style, Pete has already delivered 11 albums via Syngate to we suggest to check them out as well. Tired of a busy week, the extra hours of sleep are well deserved. An Urban Meditation plan by Pete Namlook is the icing on this cake... Pete, may he rest in peace, touches the soul with the repetitive ingredient this time, after listening to the Air and Silence series you might be surprised that Namlook created this style of music for us. Just follow your dream now... Very subtle... the radio starts making sounds... a living radio built of human components; meet Radio Free Clear Light. Poetry, graphic art, video editing, music or a combination of it all. RFCL has a focus on Form rather than content. Three tracks in a row and you still have the feeling that you didn’t move right? You didn’t. We’re traveling without moving. Michael Frenkel’s project Aspectee shines a light on the unknown. Bail a Cerder creates the floating phase, intense tranparent and organic at the same time, hypnotizing experiences at the 46 minutes mark of this episode. The atmospheric drone soundscapes that arise now, are made by Shane Morris and Mystified, two very talented composers of ambient-atmospherics. This part comes from the Epoch album, the first installment of a trilogy about prehistoric time and evolution. Epoch uses no electronic sources or synths - only acoustic sounds. The sonic portal to our last artist on this trip. CSillagköd is a project by Oliver Dombi, a producer from Transylvania. Born on Christmas evening in 1981. On November 8th, 2012 ambient master Pete Namlook died of unknown causes. This week on the show we take a look back and play some of our favourite Namlook songs. We start off slow and gentle with some delicate flute work from a collaboration between Laswell and Namlook off of Outland IV. Then we move in to a couple selections of Namlook's gentle vocal work with Ancient Beauty and Travelling Without Moving (an album title that pretty much sums up Namlook's ambient opus). We finish the show off with an absolute personal fav: the wonderfully restrained beats of Dark Side of The Moog IX.
Spacemusic 8.2 is dedicated to Pete Namlook and his music over the years.... For us Pete has been a big inspiration in so many senses; a pioneer in ambient music, a pioneer in sound design, a pioneer in the way we experience music... translated into his unforgettable albums. Please also listen to the 8.2 LOG file: TC tells the story about how he met the music by Namlook; the musical encounter that changed his life, the big inspiration for creating and sharing the Spacemusic podcast with all of you! This non-stop mix contains beautiful and impressive tracks by great ambient and electronica artists; though dedicated, this show contains mainly other artists’ ambient tracks to show you around in the enormous ambient Universe....there’s so much good stuff available out there; join us on this trip. We go deep into the starry sky, we find peace and beauty, we find the time to really listen and enjoy tracks by Pete Namlook, Marc Mitchell, Jon Jenkins, Locust, CELL, Nimanty, Connect.Ohm amongst others ... Beginning with the celetial ambient of Namlook and Laswell, the mix spins down into down dark dub with the like of Burial, Century of Aeroplanes, High Tone, and Spectre before riding the lighter side of Capsula, Tosca and Laswell to the end.

This is a mix I made back in 94 or 95. Don't know if you call it mixing or just "playing records". Anyway after rekindling my love for Ambient, Down Tempo and Trip-Hop, and running into ambient artists and lovers in Second Life's BACK TO MINE and Myspace, I pulled this out. Not too sure about the recording level; might have to amplify and re-upload it. As you can tell I must have recently purchased certain albums prior to recording. Includes stuff from The Irresistible Force, Portishead, Namlook, Tranquility Bass and more. I will add a full tracklist at a later time.
Starting with the emotionally draining synths of Namlook and Schulze, the mix moves into dark, unsettling grooves with Haujobb, Possession, Axiom Ambient and Weakener, finishing with the experimental soundscapes of Kamiyama/Laswell and Mum.
