If you're a longtime listener, you probably have heard that we can't simulate more than 50 qubits on a classical computer. Representing each qubit doubles the required system resources, and state vector simulation hits a wall even on supercomputers. But what if there was a different way to break this barrier, even on a laptop? Is the threat to cryptography on an accelerated timeline because of this or other techniques? BBR Witness Gaz H - "Hi Deb, I wanted to get in touch with you after you shared the case where two ladies saw some horrible creatures along the cliffs close to Flamborough head and RAF Bempton. My partner and I had a very similar experience when we visited there in 2022/23. We were staying at a place called Wold farm in the campervan which sits between Dane Dyke and the Cliffs and we were at the top of the farm overlooking the corn fields. The fields are on a steep incline that then drops down as it nears the cliffs. It was at dusk when I saw two creatures I could not identify in the corn field, everything about them was 'off', the way they moved and the build was what caught my attention. Show Notes On this week's podcast, Dan and Kris chat with programmer Rumbleminze! He's been working on porting NES games to theSuper NES. Why would anyone do this? Well, turns out there's a number of really interesting reasons, and they discuss all of them ad nauseum. They also talk about Kid Icarus a LOT. Because Kid Icarus is awesome. At the top of the show, Dan has a heck of a week ahead of him, what with his treatments starting soon. But in far less important news, Kris needs YET ANOTHER new toaster, and spends way too much time complaining about how crappy new televisions are. Also, he spent some time with his friends testing out the 8-player mode in Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, and the results were interesting to say the least! Finally, in Week Old News, GameStop continues to be the worst, some crazy person put a CRT into a Game Boy, Everybody 1-2 Switch inexplicably tops the Australian charts, and more. Enjoy!
