Today we got to hang with Joe Lauzon. He’s 27 time UFC veteran, winner of 15 UFC Performance of the Night bonuses, and one of the OG’s of a constantly growing New England MMA scene. He’s been fighting professionally since 2004, he’s the co-owner of Lauzon MMA and he’s only had one sip of alcohol in his entire life. Joe won his UFC debut as a 7-1 underdog by KO’ing former champ Jens Pulver. We probably could’ve gotten more in depth on some issues and talked for hours but I wanted to be courteous to a man with 2 small kids on a Friday afternoon. I wish we got to debate cheeseburgers. Another time, perhaps. Long overdue, we finally had fellow New England MMA media member, Mike Heck on the podcast. It's about time. This was a good one. Enjoy!!
People seem to hate interim title fights, but here we are this weekend with two amazing interim title fights. UFC 236 breaks the mold, and we want to continue that tradition. Not only are we talking about the two big fights, but we're counting down the best fighters to never win a "real" belt after having fought for the part-time strap. We're also talking with a whole crew of UFC 236 fighters. Eryk Anders discusses his fight with Khalil Roundtree, Andre Soukhamthath talks New England MMA and Alan Jouban chats about his acting career. Oh and let's not forget the Tj Dillashaw fallout. TIME STAMPS: 2:00 - Alan Jouban Interview: Heading to the silverscreen 15:00 - Eryk Anders Interview: Money-weight or bust 23:00 - Fastest Fight News: TJ tarnished 40:00 - Combat Countdown: Top 5 Interim Fighters 47:00 - UFC 236 Preview: Interim, Interim 50:30 - Andre Soukhamthath Interview: Northeast MMA 4E

In the fallout of UFC 223, Between Rounds Radio is back with another great show. The guys talk about the Conor McGregor outburst and arrest, the saga of who will face Khabib, and the card itself. They also speak on a huge UFC Fight Night Card with Poirier vs Gaethje and the results of an exciting Bellator card the night before. They speak with Emmanuel Sanchez about his huge fight with Sam Sicillia for Bellator at the end of the month and some of the backstage chatter from UFC 223 from friends and teammates Anthony Pettis and Paul Felder. Mike "Bones" Rodriguez also joins the show to talk about his tough loss on the UFC 223 card and give big credit to the New England MMA scene.
In the newly-remodeled basement of Nostos MMA, I had a great conversation with three old-school MMA fighters from New England. Bill Jones is a New England MMA legend. We talk about the old days and his upcoming fight on April 14th for NEF in Portland, Maine. You all already know the warrior monk Trevor Stone, and UFC fighter Devin Powell has the stones to tell us about his family jewels. Don’t drop the ball folks. You’d be nuts not to listen to this one.
In this initial episode I connected with semi-retired mma fighter, photographer and combat sports journalist Charlie Clark. He is the author of The Fighting Monkeys MMA Madness and shoots and interviews some of the most respected professional and amateur mixed martial artists in the world. Charlie takes us behind the scenes of the New England MMA scene, introduces us to local legends Mike Gresh, and Juliano Coutinho; we discuss photographing Lion Fight Promotions as well as Bellator MMA’s aversion to local media. We also talk about our favorite muay thai fighters including Yeison Yayyoo Berdugo, Smokin Jo Nattawut, Jorina Baars and finding it within yourself to switch up your technique in front of ever-changing challenge. We also get into giving back to the fighters and the fight community, Charlie’s Fighting For Autism initiative, growing muay thai in the united states and rising pro and amateur muay thai fighters that you may or may not have heard of but need to know about. Like 11 year old Nick Enzor, 13 year old Summer Bronco and 68 year old Ann Perez de Tejada. Yup, that’s right I said sixty-eight!
