Thank you for your podcast. I discovered Celtic music in the 1990s in France with a french band that has since disappeared, Tonynara. I could be wrong but I don't think I've ever heard it on your podcast. This group remains a reference for me and I can only advise you to play one or two songs at the next opportunity. Thanks !” Caleb Cotter sent a photo: "Hi Marc, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for featuring the Irish Lassies' music this year. You've introduced me to so many incredible artists, and I truly appreciate that! I've also been really enjoying your Dancing with Hobbits album—it's fantastic! You definitely nailed it with that project, and you should be incredibly proud of it. You've always encouraged us to send over recommendations, so I wanted to share one with you: My friend's band, The Mad Ferret from Edinburgh, UK. They're amazing, and I think you'd really enjoy their music. Here's one of my favorite tracks that I think you'll love. Also, the Lassies would like to send you something in the mail as a thank you. Could you please share an address where we can send it? Wishing you a wonderful New Year and thank you again for everything you do for the Celtic music community!” Patrick Rieger emailed photos: "Hi Marc, Some more celtic musicians from the family's renaissance festival season, this time the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival. Pittsburgh is a small faire, but the musicians are still great. We could only spend one day there, so we didn't see them all. We did get to see The Reelin' Rogues, The Craic Show, Sarah the Harpist (Sarah Marie Mullen), and just as we were leaving at the end of the day, Magnus and Maggie. Despite the musicians and us seeing each other one or two times a year, we still get to be friends. Big smiles. Daniel from the Craic Show wanting to clink glasses at the Pirates Pub. Sarah and my wife Gayle got into a conversation about environmental issues.”

Our interview on 11/3/2024 was more like a conversation than it was an interview. Episode Summary: Host Menina Fortunato interviews the multifaceted Sheldon Robins, whose extensive career encompasses film directing, producing, acting, and dancing. Sheldon begins by recounting his early days in New York, where he immersed himself in block parties and street dancing. This involvement led to his first significant break with LL Cool J and eventually prompted his move to Los Angeles. A pivotal moment in his career was auditioning for the Reebok City Jam series, where he was selected as a lead dancer. This opportunity not only allowed him to travel the world and learn Italian but also opened doors to modeling, choreography, and acting roles in productions like "Murder 101" and "Follow Me." Discussing his influences, Sheldon cites LL Cool J, T Roy, and Big Daddy Kane, and highlights his involvement with the mop top crew, which significantly impacted the hip-hop dance scene. He shares the importance of relationships and networking, sharing stories about discovering new talent and the value of a strong work ethic. Concluding with life lessons, He recounts having a show idea stolen, reinforcing the critical need for legal safeguards for creative work. From Jay-Z to Big Pun, Will Smith and DMX, 1998 provided 90s kids and the world with some memorable and straight banging Hip Hop, R&B and Rap. On this episode, Rob and Dave will go through some of their favorites from a year when MTV's TRL debuted and hip hop had slowly started taking over the musical landscape on TV and the radio from the mid 90s depressing, socially aware era of grunge music. The late 90s was a time of fun, excess and optimism for the upcoming 2000s. So whether you were in the club, a house party, or drinking beer in a field somewhere outside of town, you were probably getting down to a lot of the hits we'll cover this week. So let's get Jiggy with some awesome Hip Hop from way back in 1998. It was the bees knees! Glad to see it was featured this week." Finally, Allie Ryan asks: "Hi Marc, do you know any “district 2” Irish music bands? “District 2” being the City Council East Village, Gramercy Park, Kips Bay, Lower East Side of Manhattan ? Our family, including our 9 & 11 yr old daughters listen to the podcast on Sundays when going to music lessons ( and to practice Irish dance lessons ) I am running to represent the district in City Council and would love to represent/ promote a local band(s)/artist on the campaign trail. My husband is clipping together video clips and always needs a good song. We plan to have a meet and greet at our local Paddy Reillys bar ( lot of history there !) - so who knows, maybe we'll at some point have a venue / gig for them - hopefully a victory party. Thanks for any response. Election coming up Tuesday so we will be in full campaign mode non stop til then - things will happen fast. Hope this gives you some inspiration / ideas and hope to hear from you or artists soon ( feel free to pass on this email / address ). "
