Dave and Volpe are struggling to maintain sanity in this new normal. They're coping in different ways. Volpe is wasting money renting VOD offerings (Vivarium, The Assistant, The Invisible Man, You Should Have Left) while Dave is diving into HBO Max. The boys also take turns reviewing classic films that they have somehow never seen. Volpe finally catches Steven Spielberg's classic 'E.T.' while Dave tries to understand the mass appeal of 'The Princess Bride.' https://www.thedisorderly.com/ Follow us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/DisorderlyEnt Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/DisorderlyMedia
...this is definitely not episode 33... Dave and Volpe dive into Hulu's new original series from Justin Roiland, ‘Solar Opposites.' The show sure looks like ‘Rick and Morty' and it certainly has some of the same strokes, but it's very much its own thing. We now have a great sample size of shows from Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland to better understand how they collaborate on ‘Rick and Morty.' We touch on plot elements, but don't get into spoilers. Volpe might be the one man keeping Quibi and it's $2 billion company afloat. He gives his honest take on the new streaming platform and pitches a few of the original series. You had me at Dan Harmon Anna Kendrick sex doll show. And perhaps most exciting of all, the boys discuss some sort of egg-eating challenge to coincide with watching Paul Newman's classic film ‘Cool Hand Luke,' where Paul's character famously devours 50 eggs in a sitting. So will they each eat 50 eggs? Sounds deadly. Maybe each eat 25 over the course of the film? Negotiations are ongoing.
The lovely Ash has never seen the 1986 classic film starring Tom Cruise. Maverick. Goose. Ice Man. These names mean nothing to her. That needed to change. Did she have a need? A need for speed? Unquestioned. We jumped into a F-14 Tomcat and took her damn breath away. Danger Zone.
The lovely Ash has never seen the 1988 classic film starring Tom Hanks. Adored by all, the film made over $150M on an $18M budget and made Penny Marshall the first female director to gross $100M+. Like most people you probably have fond memories of this thing, but have you seen it lately? Damn, some of this shit is dark. Sure, there's a kid living it up in a baller apartment in New York bedding females executives but back in the burbs there's a grieving mother clutching to hope that her child isn't being eaten by a maniac in a basement. Did you know they wanted Robert De Niro to play the Hanks role? How weird would that have been? They also offered it to Harrison Ford. Imagine Harrison Ford trying to act like some idiot child. You can't! Let's talk about it. Enjoy!
Dave and Volpe are joined by the lovely Ash to discuss the bombing of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn spinoff, 'Parasite' sweeping the Oscars and whether or not Guy Ritchie's latest film 'The Gentlemen' is worth the watch. SPOILERS AHEADS. Enjoy! https://www.thedisorderly.com/ Follow us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/DisorderlyEnt Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/DisorderlyMedia
