Born in Baghdad, raised in New Delhi, and now expanding further around the world spreading his message of cross-cultural understanding through the common denominator of music - Mohammed Abood a.k.a. DJ MoCity is a music entrepreneur that's been hustling his way around Asia and beyond for the past decade. With roots firmly based in hip-hop, he has entertained crowds and organised events all over the India whilst also being the creative force behind “Dubstation” at Bacardi NH7 Weekender. A stage that has tirelessly promoted genres such as dub, reggae, hip-hop, glitch-hop, dubstep and drum and bass – all on a large mainstream platform. Don't forget the Rajahs either. The last five years have seen DJ MoCity, Diggy Dang and Mr Herbalist, turn their infectious passion for reggae music into a national sensation as Reggae Rajahs. Their enthusiasm and determination has seen them create strong international bonds placing India firmly on the tight-knit reggae map whilst consciously sharing their achievements with a very real and dedicated fan base. Five years has even seen the clan grow from three into five with new recruits Ziggy B and BeLights. As a solo figure, DJ MoCity is evidently a forward thinking DJ. Moving through a whopping 70 tracks in just over 100 minutes, the session on hand is rife with pulsing rhythms, R&B grooves, and washy synths yet with the music never feeling hurried. We suspect MoCity's current favorites feature heavily in proceedings, with a few selections also coming from local producers based in both India and Pakistan. On a technical level, the transitions are generally pretty short, with one track subtly and quickly fading into the next. And while the mix has its bumper moments, the overall pace is beat heavy and groove consistent. It's not hard to figure that MoCity clearly knows where the dancefloor is located, yet at this point he's just showing off his impressive beat catalogue, and we're happily tagging along for the ride. This one's been a long time coming. As one half of Bay Beat Collective (BBC), Sohail Arora has been pushing low end sounds for over 4 years. His solo project Ez Riser aims to showcase newer forms of exactly that, yet with particular focus on glitch-hop and electronica (with a touch of hip-hop). A self confessed music geek and influenced by artists such as Koan Sound, Spoonbill, Opiuo and Griz (all currently destroying dancefloor's across the world), it's not hard to see where he gets his patronage for bass. As the founder of KRUNK, India's foremost alternative booking agency and events crew, Sohail has also over the years been responsible for touring acts such as Concord Dawn, Klute, London Elektricity, Koan Sound and Dub Phizix across India, whilst representing some of the freshest local sounds, including at a time, Dualist Inquiry and Reggae Rajahs with more recent additions such as Delhi Sultanate, BASSFoundation, Ox7gen and Sandunes. If like us, you've kept your ear to the ground, you'll know that he's done a lot. Ever attend any of the editions of BASS CAMP Festival? That's him too. Ultimately, it's Ez Riser's fidelity to the low end that ties his sound (and most probably life) together. And in truly well expected fashion, Wild City #051 absolutely bangs. From the stuttering almost-booty beat of Snareophobe's 'Stress Relief', right through to the fluttering groove of Heyoka's 'Glibidy Glob' and the hyper 'Eastern Thug', this is a mix made with the dancefloor in mind as much as the bedroom. And although the sounds may be familiar, the vibe is undeniably fresh - simply solid all the way through and that's more than enough. Fill your boots. "Introduction to glitch; Introducing a wide range of glitch influences, new and old on my 1st ever Wild City mix. Strictly for your best pair of headphones or sound system. Hope y'all like it." - Ez Riser For a tracklist and further info, head over here: http://www.thewildcity.com/EN/music.xhtml/article/3714-wild-city-051-ez-riser

Reggae Rajahs are India's first and foremost reggae sound system. That much you should know. For the past 4 years they have been steadily building a loyal and dedicated fanbase across the country, exclusively pushing genres such as reggae, dancehall, dub, ska and rocksteady. This week they will be celebrating 4 years with a self programmed, curated and promoted tour in association with The Polish Institute. As has become a tradition over the years, they will also be celebrating Bob Marley's (68th) birthday within these dates: Last year saw the trio complete a landmark year. Alongside a European tour they had performances at festivals such as SulaFest, NH7 Weekender, Ragasthan and Sunburn, whilst also supporting Snoop Dogg in Delhi to much acclaim from press and fans alike. It's been an absolute pleasure watching this dynamic trio grow over the years. From winning the very first reggae soundclash in a 200 capacity club (up against BASSFoundation) to hosting Dub Station at the NH7 Weekender, playing Outlook Festival in Croatia and supporting Snoop Dogg in New Delhi, their positive lyrics, MC'ing style, role as selectors and choice of touring artists has reflected in their progression as one of India's fastest growing live acts. Supporting them on this tour will be Dreadsquad, who rank amongst Poland's premier music producers. Creating music that can broadly be classified as reggae/dancehall, they combine elements of ska, rocksteady, breakbeat, jungle and dubstep, pushing forward a unique fusion of bass heavy sounds. And as a little treat the Rajahs have put together a mix that elegantly folds together 24 tracks all produced by Dreadsquad, all within 34 minutes.
