(ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅੰਨਿ੍ਹਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੱਲਾ ਫੜਾ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਸਕੀਏ।੪।੧।JAITSREE, FOURTH MEHL, FIRST HOUSE, CHAU-PADAS:ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੯ ॥ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਜਾਨਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥ ਅਪਨੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਿਉ ਹੀ ਜਗੁ ਫਾਂਧਿਓ ਕੋ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੋ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਸੁਖਮੈ ਆਨਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਬੈਠਤ ਰਹਤ ਚਹੂ ਦਿਸਿ ਘੇਰੈ ॥ ਬਿਪਤਿ ਪਰੀ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਸੰਗੁ ਛਾਡਿਤ ਕੋਊ ਨ ਆਵਤ ਨੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਘਰ ਕੀਨਾਰਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਹਿਤੁ ਜਾ ਸਿਉ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਤ ਸੰਗ ਲਾਗੀ ॥ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਹੰਸ ਤਜੀ ਇਹ ਕਾਂਇਆ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਕਰਿ ਭਾਗੀ ॥੨॥ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿਕੋ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ਬਨਿਓ ਹੈ ਜਾ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਲਗਾਇਓ ॥ ਅੰਤ ਬਾਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਕੋਊ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਇਓ ॥੩॥੧੨॥੧੩੯॥ ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਪੱਕੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਮਝ ਲੈ, (ਕਿ) ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਖ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਬੱਝਾ ਹੋਇਆਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ (ਤੋੜ ਨਿਭਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਾਥੀ) ਨਹੀਂ (ਬਣਦਾ) ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ! ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ (ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ) ਕਈ ਯਾਰ ਦੋਸਤ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਪਾਸ) ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ, (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਚੌਹੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂਘੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ) ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਸਾਥ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਫਿਰ) ਕੋਈ ਭੀ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂਢੁਕਦਾ।੧।ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਘਰ ਦੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (ਭੀ) , ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਬੜਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜੀ ਸਦਾ (ਖਸਮ ਦੇ) ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਹੀਵੇਲੇ (ਪਤੀ ਦਾ) ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ) ਪਰੇ ਹਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮਰ ਚੁਕਾ ਹੈਮਰ ਚੁਕਾ ਹੈ।੨।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। (ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਅਖ਼ੀਰਲੇ ਸਮੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਮਦਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।੩।੧੨।੧੩੯।SORATH, NINTH MEHL:O dear friend, know this in your mind. The world is entangled in its own pleasures; no one is for anyone else. || 1 || Pause || In good times, many come and sit together, surrounding you on all four sides. But when hard times come, they all leave, and no one comes near you. || 1 || Your wife, whom you love so much, and who has remained ever attached to you, runs away crying, Ghost Ghost, as soon as the swan-soul leaves this body. || 2 || This is the way they act - those whom we love so much. At the very last moment, O Nanak, no one is any use at all, except the Dear Lord. || 3 || 12 || 139 ||

 ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਪਰਥਾਇ ਸਾਖੀ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਸਾਝੀ ਸਗਲ ਜਹਾਨੈ ॥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਭਉ ਕਰੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਤਾ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ॥ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇ ਕਿਆ ਕਥਹਿ ਗਿਆਨੈ ॥੧॥ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਨ ਲਾਇਓ ਅੰਤਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਹੁਤਾ ਆਇ ॥ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਬਾਹਰਹੁ ਅੰਧਿਆਂ ਸੁਧਿ ਨ ਕਾਈ ਪਾਇ ॥ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਬਰਕਤੀ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਖਾਇ ਜੋ ਰਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇ ॥ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਹੇ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ਪੰਡਿਤ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਨਾ ਧਨੁ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥ ਪੜਿ ਥਕੇ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਲਤ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥ ਕੂਕ ਪੂਕਾਰ ਨ ਚੁਕਈ ਨਾ ਸੰਸਾ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਹੂਣਿਆ ਮੁਹਿ ਕਾਲੈ ਉਠਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥ ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣ ਮੇਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਪੰਥੁ ਦਸਾਈ ॥ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਦਸੇ ਮਿਤੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਝੀ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਕਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵੀ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਨਿਤ ਸੇਵਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੨॥ਅਰਥ: ਮਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਵਿਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ (ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਲਈ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਸੁਣ ਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਡਰ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਰਨ) ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਉਦਾਸ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿਚ ਪਤੀਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਬਾਹਰ ਭਟਕਣੋਂ ਹਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਤੀਜਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।੧।SHALOK, THIRD MEHL:ਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਮਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋੜਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਉਹਨਾਂ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਅੰਨਿ੍ਹਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ। (ਪਰ) ਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ! ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਮਿਲਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਰਾਹ ਪੁੱਛਾਂ। ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ (ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ) ਦੱਸੇ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਿਆਲੀ ਪਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹਰੀ ਸਿਮਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਸੁਖ ਲਵਾਂ।ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ) ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ।੧੨।Great men speak the teachings by relating them to individual situations, but the whole world shares in them. One who becomes Gurmukh knows the Fear of God, and realizes his own self. If, by Guru's Grace, one remains dead while yet alive, the mind becomes content in itself. Those who have no faith in their own minds, O Nanak — how can they speak of spiritual wisdom? || 1 || THIRD MEHL: Those who do not focus their consciousness on the Lord, as Gurmukh, suffer pain and grief in the end. They are blind, inwardly and outwardly, and they do not understand anything. O Pandit, O religious scholar, the whole world is fed for the sake of those who are attuned to the Lord's Name. Those who praise the Word of the Guru's Shabad, remain blended with the Lord. O Pandit, O religious scholar, no one is satisfied, and no one finds true wealth through the love of duality. They have grown weary of reading scriptures, but still, they do not find contentment, and they pass their lives burning, night and day. Their cries and complaints never end, and doubt does not depart from within them. O Nanak, without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, they rise up and depart with blackened faces. || 2 || PAUREE: O Beloved, lead me to meet my True Friend; meeting with Him, I shall ask Him to show me the Path. I am a sacrifice to that Friend, who shows it to me. I share His Virtues with Him, and meditate on the Lord's Name. I serve my Beloved Lord forever; serving the Lord, I have found peace. I am a sacrifice to the True Guru, who has imparted this understanding to me. || 12 ||

ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪਉੜੀ ਸਾਚ ਕੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਆਵੈਸਾਚ ਭਾਵੈ ਸਾਚ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਕਿਉ ਟਲੈ ॥ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਸੁਗਿਆਨੁ ਮਜਨੁ ਆਪਿ ਅਛਲਿਓ ਕਿਉ ਛਲੈ ॥ ਪਰਪੰਚ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰਥਾਕੇ ਕੂੜੁ ਕਪਟੁ ਨ ਦੋਈ ॥ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ਅਰਥ: (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ) ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ (ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਿਉਂ ਤਿਉਂ) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਣੇ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਇਕ ਪੌੜੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਪੌੜੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਪੌੜੀ ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਇਸ ਪੌੜੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੈ। (ਜੇ ਗੁਣਗਾਵਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਤਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣੀ, ਤਾਂ) ਕੋਈ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ, ਕੋਈ ਦਾਨ, ਕੋਈ ਚੁੰਚ-ਗਿਆਨਤਾ, ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਤੀਰਥ-ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। (ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਧੋਖੇ-ਫ਼ਰੇਬ, ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਚਮਤ-ਕਾਰੇ, ਵਿਕਾਰ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਭ ਮੁੱਕਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਹ ਝੂਠ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਠੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਮੇਰ-ਤੇਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ) ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ (ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਵਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਿਉਂ ਤਿਉਂ) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਹੀ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੋ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕੀਆ ॥ ਮੈਲੁ ਲਾਗੀ ਮਨਿ ਮੈਲਿਐ ਕਿਨੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆ ॥ ਮਥਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁਦੀਆ ਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਮੋਲੁ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥ ਆਪਨੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਜਾ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਲਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਜੇ ਤਿਸੁਭਾਵਾ ਕਿਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਹੋਇ ਪਰਾਇਆ ॥ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੋ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ ਅਰਥ: ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। (ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਜੇ ਮਨ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਲਾ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। (ਪਰ ਇਸ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਮੁੱਲ ਦੇਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮੁੱਲ ਪੁਆਇਆ(ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ) ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪੀ ਲਿਆ।(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ) ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ (ਮੈਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਵਲੋਂ ਹਟਾ ਕੇ) ਸਦਾ-

  ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਨਹਿ ਭਇਆ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਪਹੁਚਨਹਾਰਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਾ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ॥੧॥ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ॥ ਆਗੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਛੈ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਾ ਘਰਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰਾ ਸੋਈ ਖਸਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੇ ਇਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਆਧਾਰਾ ॥੨॥ ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਹੋਵਨਹਾਰਾ ॥ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਗਾਇ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਨ ਰਾਖੇ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥੩॥ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਅਚਰਜ ਸੋਭਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਆਇਆ ਰਾਸੇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ॥੪॥੫॥ ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਇਹ ਸੁਖ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਹੜਾ) ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ।੨।(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਭੀ (ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ) ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਬੜੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਅਚਰਜ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੫।lSORAT'H, FIFTH MEHL:I met the True Guru, by great good fortune, and my mind has been enlightened. No one else can equal me, because I have the loving support of my Lord and Master. || 1 || I am a sacrifice to my True Guru. I am at peace in this world, and I shall be in celestial peace in the next; my home is filled with bliss. || Pause || He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, the Creator, my Lord and Master. I have become fearless, attached to the Guru's feet; I take the Support of the Name of the One Lord. || 2 || Fruitful is the Blessed Vision of His Darshan; the Form of God is deathless; He is and shall always be. He hugs His humble servants close, and protects and preserves them; their love for Him is sweet to Him. || 3 || Great is His glorious greatness, and wondrous is His magnificence; through Him, all affairs are resolved. Nanak has met with the Perfect Guru; all his sorrows have been dispelled. || 4 || 5 ||

ਰਾਗੁ ਵਡਹੰਸੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਛੰਤ ਘਰੁ ੪ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਲਧਾ ਜੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਇਹੁ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਦਿਤੜਾ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਦਿਤਾ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਜਿਤਾ ਚੂਕੀ ਕਾਂਣਿ ਜਮਾਣੀ ॥ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਥੀਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆ ਰਹਿਆ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ ਸੋ ਘਰੁ ਲਧਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਧਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖਿ ਮਾਣੇ ਰਲੀਆਂ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੰਉ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਜਣ ਜੀ ਮੈਡੜੇ ਮੀਤਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੁ ਦੀਤਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਸਚੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਚੂਕੇ ਮਨਹੁ ਅਦੇਸਾ ॥ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਇਆ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੈਸਾ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਭਾਣਾ ਸਚਾ ਮਾਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਦੀਤਾ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਨੁ ਸਭਨੀ ਹੈ ਲੀਤਾ ॥੨॥ ਤਉ ਭਾਣਾ ਤਾਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਮਨੁ ਥੀਆ ਠੰਢਾ ਸਭ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਮਨੁ ਥੀਆ ਠੰਢਾ ਚੂਕੀ ਡੰਝਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਖਜਾਨਾ ॥ ਸਿਖ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਭਿ ਭੁੰਚਣ ਲਗੇ ਹੰਉ ਸਤਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ ॥ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ਖਸਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੰਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥੩॥ ਪੂਰੀ ਆਸਾ ਜੀ ਮਨਸਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਜੀਉ ਸਭਿ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਸਭਿ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਿਤੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥ ਗੁਣੁ ਅਵਗੁਣੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੀਆ ਖਿਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਵਜੀ ਵਾਧਾਈ ਵਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਤੂਰੇ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੈ ਵਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਾਥੇ ਜੀ ਸਗਲ ਵਿਸੂਰੇ॥੪॥੧॥ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ, ੧੧ ਵੈਸਾਖ (ਸੰਮਤ ੫੫੮ ਨਾਨਕਸ਼ਾਹੀ)(ਅੰਗ: ੫੭੬)ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆਹੇ ਭਾਈ ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲੱਭ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ, ਇਹ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਅਡੋਲ-ਚਿੱਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ- ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।੧। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਜਣ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਸੁਣ, ਕਿਸੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਾਲਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ-ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਂ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣ-ਆਸਰਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ- ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਵਲੋਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਬੁੱਝ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਵਡਾ ਨਾਮ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜੇ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੇਵਕ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਤਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਮਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਨਿਡਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਹਮ ਮਿਟਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ- ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ, ਤੇ, ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।੩। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਆਸ ਤੇ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਸਾਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਾਂ? ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਔਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੱਕਿਆ, ਤੇ, ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਵਾਜੇ ਵੱਜਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ- ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਖਸਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਲਹਿ ਗਏ ਹਨ।੪।੧।English TranslationRAAG WADAHANS, FIFTH MEHL, CHHANT, FOURTH HOUSE: ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਨਾ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਈ ॥ ਗੁਣ ਅਮੋਲ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਨ ਵਸਿਆ ਤੇ ਨਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਅਰੋਗ ਅਨਦਾਈ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ਸਨੇਹੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਾਖ ਬੇਦਨ ਜਣੁ ਆਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜਿਹ ਜਨ ਓਟ ਗਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇ ਸੁਖੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣੇ ॥ ਜਿਹ ਨਰ ਬਿਸਰਿਆ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਤੇ ਦੁਖੀਆ ਮਹਿ ਗਨਣੇ ॥੨॥ ਜਿਹ ਗੁਰ ਮਾਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਤਿਹ ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਰਸੁ ਕਰਿਆ ॥ ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਬੇਮੁਖਾਈ ਤੇ ਨਰਕ ਘੋਰ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਿਆ ॥੩॥ ਜਿਤੁ ਕੋ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਤ ਹੀ ਲਾਗਾ ਤੈਸੋ ਹੀ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹ ਪਕਰੀ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਰਿਦੈ ਭਏ ਮਗਨ ਚਰਨਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੫॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਨਰੋਏ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਉਤੇ (ਇਉਂ) ਜਾਣੋ (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਲੱਖਾਂ ਤਕਲਫ਼ਿਾਂ ਆ ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ) ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸੰਤੋਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਵੱਸਦੇ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।੧।ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੁਖੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਗਿਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਮੰਨ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜ ਲਈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੜਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਬੜਾ ਰਸ ਮਾਣਿਆ। ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਲੋਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਮੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।੩।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਜਿਸ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਨਾਲ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।੪।੪।੧੫।SORAT'H, FIFTH MEHL:Those whose minds are attached to the lotus feet of the Lord — those humble beings are satisfied and fulfilled. But those, within whose hearts the priceless virtue does not abide — those men remain thirsty and unsatisfied. || 1 || Worshipping the Lord in adoration, one becomes happy, and free of disease. But one who forgets my Dear Lord — know him to be afflicted with tens of thousands of illnesses. || Pause || Those who hold tightly to Your Support, God, are happy in Your Sanctuary. But those humble beings who forget the Primal Lord, the Architect of Destiny, are counted among the most miserable beings. || 2 || One who has faith in the Guru, and who is lovingly attached to God, enjoys the delights of supreme ecstasy. One who forgets God and forsakes the Guru, falls into the most horrible hell. || 3 || As the Lord engages someone, so he is engaged, and so does he perform. Nanak has taken to the Shelter of the Saints; his heart is absorbed in the Lord's feet. || 4 || 4 || 15 ||

ਸਲੋਕ ॥ ਮਨ ਇਛਾ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਣੰ ਸਰਬਤ੍ਰ ਆਸਾ ਪੂਰਨਹ ॥ ਖੰਡਣੰ ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਹ ਦੂਰਣਹ ॥੧॥ ਹਭਿ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੈ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਈਐ ਨੇਹੁ ॥ ਸੋ ਸਹੁ ਬਿੰਦ ਨ ਵਿਸਰਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨਿ ਸੁੰਦਰੁ ਰਚਿਆ ਦੇਹੁ ॥੨॥  ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਦੀਆ ਦੀਨੇ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ॥ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਰਥ ਅਸੁ ਦੀਏ ਰਚਿ ਭਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥ ਸੁਤ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਸਾਜਨ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੇਵਨ ਜੋਗ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਵਿਜੋਗ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਮਹੁ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਭਿ ਰੋਗ ॥੩॥  ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਨ-ਮੰਨੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਥਾਂ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ) ਆਸਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਅਸਾਡੇ ਝਗੜੇ ਤੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ, ਉਹ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।੧। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੌਜਾਂ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਜੋੜ। ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਰੱਬ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਭੁੱਲੇ।੨। (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਜਿੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੇ ਧਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਭੋਗਣ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਤੇਰੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਘਰ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਮਕਾਨ, ਰਥ ਤੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਦੇਣ-ਜੋਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਵਹੁਟੀ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ) ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੩। SHALOK He grants our hearts' desires, and fulfills all our hopes. He destroys pain and suffering; remember God in meditation, O Nanak — He is not far away. || 1 || Love Him, with whom you enjoy all pleasures. Do not forget that Lord, even for an instant; O Nanak, He fashioned this beautiful body. || 2 || PAUREE: He gave you your soul, breath of life, body and wealth; He gave you pleasures to enjoy. He gave you households, mansions, chariots and horses; He ordained your good destiny. He gave you your children, spouse, friends and servants; God is the all-powerful Great Giver. Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, the body and mind are rejuvenated, and sorrow departs. In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, chant the Praises of the Lord, and all your sickness shall vanish. || 3 ||

ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਘਰੁ ੧ ਚਉਪਦੇ    ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਭਗਤ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਮ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਖੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੁਮ ਜੁ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਥਰ ਨੀਰਿ ਡੁਬਤ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਖਣ ਹਮ ਤਾਰੀ ॥ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਬਿਖੁ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਲਗਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਬੈਸੰਤਰਿ ਤਾਇਓ ਮਲੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਟਿਤ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿਜਪਨੁ ਜਪਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਜਗਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਪਾਰੀ ॥ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ ਪਾਪੀ ਹਾਂ, ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪੱਥਰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇਹਨ। ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ (ਪੱਥਰ-ਦਿਲਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਸੰਤ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ (ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭੀਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, (ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੋਨਾ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਤਪਾਇਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮੈਲ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੰਬੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾਜ਼ਹਰ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੰਗਾਲ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਸੋਧਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤਾਂਹੀਏਂ) ਮੈਂ (ਭੀ) ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਐਸੀ ਦਵਾਈ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਰ ਕਰਨੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਖੁੰਝਦੀ। ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ (ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਮੁਕਾ ਸਕੀਦੀ ਹੈ।੩।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ! ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ! ਹੇ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ! ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ! ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰਕਰ, ਤੇ, (ਇਸ ਵਿਕਾਰ-ਭਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖ ਲੈ।੪।੧।DHANAASAREE, FOURTH MEHL, FIRST HOUSE, CHAU-PADAS:ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU:Those Saints and devotees who serve the Lord have all their sins washed away. Have Mercy on me, O Lord and Master, and keep me in the Sangat, the Congregation that You love. || 1 || I cannot even speak the Praises of the Lord, the Gardener of the world. We are sinners, sinking like stones in water; grant Your Grace, and carry us stones across. || Pause || The rust of poison and corruption from countless incarnations sticks to us; joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, it is cleaned away. It is just like gold, which is heated in the fire, to remove the impurities from it. || 2 || I chant the chant of the Name of the Lord, day and night; I chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, and enshrine it within my heart. The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, is the most perfect medicine in this world; chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I have conquered my ego. || 3 || The Lord, Har, Har, is unapproachable, of unfathomable wisdom, unlimited, all-powerful and infinite. Show Mercy to Your humble servant, O Life of the world, and save the honor of servant Nanak. || 4 || 1 ||

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੯ ॥ ਮਨ ਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਬਿਚਾਰੋ ॥ ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਗਨਕਾ ਸੀ ਉਧਰੀ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਜਸੁ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਅਟਲ ਭਇਓ ਧ੍ਰੂਅ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਅਰੁ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਦੁਖ ਹਰਤਾ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੈ ਕਾਹੇ ਬਿਸਰਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਗਹੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਜ ਗਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਛੂਟਾ ॥ ਮਹਮਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਾ ਲਉ ਬਰਨਉ ਰਾਮ ਕਹਤ ਬੰਧਨ ਤਿਹ ਤੂਟਾ ॥੨॥ ਅਜਾਮਲੁ ਪਾਪੀ ਜਗੁ ਜਾਨੇ ਨਿਮਖ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਤ ਚੇਤ ਚਿੰਤਾਮਨਿ ਤੈ ਭੀ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਾ ॥੩॥੪॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਿਆ ਕਰ। ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਗਨਕਾ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਣੋਂ) ਬਚ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਤੂੰ ਭੀ, (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਧ੍ਰੂ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਿਰਭੈਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੀ (ਗਜ ਨੇ) ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਉਹ ਗਜ (ਹਾਥੀ) ਤੰਦੂਏ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਤਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੱਸਾਂ? ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ (ਹਾਥੀ) ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਏ ਸਨ।੨।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਜਾਮਲ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਸੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚਿਤਵਨੀਆਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ। ਤੂੰ ਭੀ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਏਂਗਾ।੩।੪।SORAT'H, NINTH MEHL:O mind, contemplate the Sanctuary of God. Meditating on Him in remembrance, Ganika the prostitute was saved; enshrine His Praises within your heart. || 1 || Pause || Meditating on Him in remembrance, Dhroo became immortal, and obtained the state of fearlessness. The Lord and Master removes suffering in this way — why have you forgotten Him? || 1 || As soon as the elephant took to the protective Sanctuary of the Lord, the ocean of mercy, he escaped from the crocodile. How much can I describe the Glorious Praises of the Naam? Whoever chants the Lord's Name, his bonds are broken. || 2 || Ajaamal, known throughout the world as a sinner, was redeemed in an instant. Says Nanak, remember the Chintaamani, the jewel which fulfills all desires, and you too shall be carried across and saved. || 3 || 4 ||

ਰਾਗੁ ਸੋਰਠਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਭਗਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਘਰੁ ੧ ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮਨ ਪਵਨੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਬਨਿਆ ॥ ਕਿਛੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਗਨਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮਨ ਪਵਨੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਬਨਿਆ ॥ ਕਿਛੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਗਨਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਖਲਾਈ ਮੋਰੀ ॥ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਰਗ ਪੜਤ ਹੈ ਚੋਰੀ ॥ ਮੂੰਦਿ ਲੀਏ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ ॥ ਬਾਜੀਅਲੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਬਾਜੇ ॥੧॥ ਕੁੰਭ ਕਮਲੁ ਜਲਿ ਭਰਿਆ ॥ ਜਲੁ ਮੇਟਿਆ ਊਭਾ ਕਰਿਆ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥ ਜਉ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਤਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੨॥੧੦॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਮੇਰੇ) ਪਉਣ (ਵਰਗੇ ਚੰਚਲ) ਮਨ ਨੂੰ (ਹੁਣ) ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਹੁਣ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗਾ ਥੋੜਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਹ) ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰੀ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਪਸ਼ੂ ਅਡੋਲ ਹੀ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਆ ਦਬਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ; (ਸੋ, ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ) ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ (ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ: ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ, ਪਰ ਤਨ, ਪਰ ਧਨ ਆਦਿਕ ਵਲੋਂ) ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ ਤੇ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ) ਵਾਜੇ ਇੱਕ-ਰਸ ਵੱਜਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ।੧।(ਮੇਰਾ) ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਕਮਲ ਰੂਪ ਘੜਾ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, (ਹੁਣ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ) ਪਾਣੀ ਡੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਨੂੰ) ਉੱਚਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਬੀਰ! ਹੁਣ) ਆਖ-ਮੈਂ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ) ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ (ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ) ਗਿੱਝ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।੨।੧੦।ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਭਾਵ: ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੱਲਾ ਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਮਨ ਚੰਚਲਤਾ ਵਲੋਂ ਹਟ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧੦।O Saints, my windy mind has now become peaceful and still. It seems that I have learned something of the science of Yoga. || Pause || The Guru has shown me the hole, through which the deer carefully enters. I have now closed off the doors, and the unstruck celestial sound current resounds. || 1 || The pitcher of my heart-lotus is filled with water; I have spilled out the water, and set it upright. Says Kabeer, the Lord's humble servant, this I know. Now that I know this, my mind is pleased and appeased. || 2 || 10 || 

   ਜੈਤਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਘਰੁ ੧ ਚਉਪਦੇ ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ਮੇਰੈ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਰਤਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਬਸਿਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਾਥੁ ਧਰਿਓ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਾਥਾ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਉਤਰੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਰਿਨੁ ਲਾਥਾ ॥੧॥ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਭਜੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਭਿ ਅਰਥਾ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੂੜ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਿਤ ਫਾਥਾ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਣ ਨ ਸੇਵੇ ਕਬਹੂ ਤਿਨ ਸਭੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਕਾਥਾ ॥੨॥ ਜਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਣ ਸਾਧ ਪਗ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਫਲਿਓ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਨਾਥਾ ॥ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕੀਜੈ ਦਾਸੁ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ਜਗੰਨਾਥਾ ॥੩॥ ਹਮ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਗਿਆਨਹੀਨ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਕਿਉ ਚਾਲਹ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪੰਥਾ ॥ ਹਮ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਚਲੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਚਲਹ ਮਿਲੰਥਾ ॥੪॥੧॥ ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ (ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ) । (ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਹੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੱਕਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਤੇ, ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਰਤਨ (ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ) ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰੋਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ) ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਉਤਰ ਗਿਆ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ (ਦੀ ਸਰਨ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੋਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਖਸਮ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾ ਲੈ।੩।ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਅਸੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ। ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅੰਨਿ੍ਹਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੱਲਾ ਫੜਾ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਸਕੀਏ।੪।੧।JAITSREE, FOURTH MEHL, FIRST HOUSE, CHAU-PADAS:ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. The Perfect Guru has implanted the Lord's Name within me; without the Name, life is useless. || Pause || Without the Guru, the self-willed manmukhs are foolish and ignorant; they are forever entangled in emotional attachment to Maya. They never serve the feet of the Holy; their lives are totally useless. || 2 || Those who serve at the feet of the Holy, the feet of the Holy, their lives are made fruitful, and they belong to the Lord. Make me the slave of the slave of the slaves of the Lord; bless me with Your Mercy, O Lord of the Universe. || 3 || I am blind, ignorant and totally without wisdom; how can I walk on the Path? I am blind — O Guru, please let me grasp the hem of Your robe, so that servant Nanak may walk in harmony with You. || 4 || 1 

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੯ ॥ ਮਨ ਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਬਿਚਾਰੋ ॥ ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਗਨਕਾ ਸੀ ਉਧਰੀ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਜਸੁ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਅਟਲ ਭਇਓ ਧ੍ਰੂਅ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਅਰੁ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਦੁਖ ਹਰਤਾ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੈ ਕਾਹੇ ਬਿਸਰਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਗਹੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਜ ਗਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਛੂਟਾ ॥ ਮਹਮਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਾ ਲਉ ਬਰਨਉ ਰਾਮ ਕਹਤ ਬੰਧਨ ਤਿਹ ਤੂਟਾ ॥੨॥ ਅਜਾਮਲੁ ਪਾਪੀ ਜਗੁ ਜਾਨੇ ਨਿਮਖ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਤ ਚੇਤ ਚਿੰਤਾਮਨਿ ਤੈ ਭੀ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਾ ॥੩॥੪॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਿਆ ਕਰ। ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਗਨਕਾ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਣੋਂ) ਬਚ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਤੂੰ ਭੀ, (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਧ੍ਰੂ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਿਰਭੈਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੀ (ਗਜ ਨੇ) ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਉਹ ਗਜ (ਹਾਥੀ) ਤੰਦੂਏ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਤਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੱਸਾਂ? ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ (ਹਾਥੀ) ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਏ ਸਨ।੨।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਜਾਮਲ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਸੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚਿਤਵਨੀਆਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ। ਤੂੰ ਭੀ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਏਂਗਾ।੩।੪।SORAT'H, NINTH MEHL:O mind, contemplate the Sanctuary of God. Says Nanak, remember the Chintaamani, the jewel which fulfills all desires, and you too shall be carried across and saved. || 3 || 4 ||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਮਿਰਤੁ ਹਸੈ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰੇ ਪਸੂਆ ਨਹੀ ਬੂਝੈ ॥ ਬਾਦ ਸਾਦ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਮਹਿ ਮਰਣਾ ਨਹੀ ਸੂਝੈ ॥੧॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਆਪਨਾ ਕਾਹੇ ਫਿਰਹੁ ਅਭਾਗੇ ॥ ਦੇਖਿ ਕਸੁੰਭਾ ਰੰਗੁਲਾ ਕਾਹੇ ਭੂਲਿ ਲਾਗੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਪ ਦਰਬੁ ਕੀਆ ਵਰਤਣ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ ॥ ਮਾਟੀ ਸਿਉ ਮਾਟੀ ਰਲੀ ਨਾਗਾ ਉਠਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕੀਐ ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਕਰੈ ਤੇ ਬੈਰ ਬਿਰੋਧੀ ॥ ਅੰਤ ਕਾਲਿ ਭਜਿ ਜਾਹਿਗੇ ਕਾਹੇ ਜਲਹੁ ਕਰੋਧੀ ॥੩॥ ਦਾਸ ਰੇਣੁ ਸੋਈ ਹੋਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਕਰਮਾ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬੰਧਨ ਛੁਟੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥੪॥੬॥੩੬॥ ਹੇ ਬਦ-ਕਿਸਮਤ! ਕਿਉਂ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ। ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲਾ ਕਸੁੰਭਾ (ਮਨ-ਮੋਹਨੀ ਮਾਇਆ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ?।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੌਤ (ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ (ਖਲੋਤੀ) ਹੱਸ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਚੇਤਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਪਰ) ਪਸ਼ੂ (-ਸੁਭਾਉ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ (ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ (ਫਸ ਕੇ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਸੁੱਝਦੀ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ) ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਰਤਣ ਲਈ ਧਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ, (ਪਰ ਮੌਤ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ) ਮਿੱਟੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਰਲ ਗਈ, ਤੇ, ਜੀਵ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ-ਹੱਥ ਹੀ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ।੨।ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਬੰਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਧਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ) ਮੇਹਨਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਤੋੜ ਤਕ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਨਿਬਾਹ ਸਕਦੇ, ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ) ਵੈਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੀ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਸਹੇੜ ਸਹੇੜ ਕੇ) ਕਿਉਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਿਚ ਸੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਾਥ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਣਗੇ।੩।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੪।੬।੩੬।O ill-fated one! Why do you wander around? Remain under the shelter of your Guru. Why do you go astray after seeing the beautiful-coloured Kasumbha (the mind-charming Maya)? 1. Stay away.O brother! Death is laughing at (every human being) head (that a foolish person is not even aware of his death, trapped in the love of Maya, but) a person with animal nature does not understand this. In quarrels, in the pleasures of (material things), in ego, a person does not even realize death. 1.O brother! All his life, by committing sins, man kept accumulating wealth for his own use, (but when death came, the dust of his body) mixed with the earth, and the living being got up empty-handed and walked away. 2.The relatives for whose sake a man works hard (to accumulate wealth) become enemies and opposers (until the end of his life). O brother! Why do you burn with anger (by harboring enmity with others for their sake)? They will leave you in the end. 3.O Nanak! Say - the man on whose forehead fortunes awaken, that man becomes the dust of the feet of the devotees of the Lord. Taking refuge in the Guru, the bonds (of attachment to Maya) are broken.4.6.36.

ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਘਰੁ ੧ ਚਉਪਦੇ    ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਭਗਤ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਮ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਖੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੁਮ ਜੁ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਥਰ ਨੀਰਿ ਡੁਬਤ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਖਣ ਹਮ ਤਾਰੀ ॥ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਬਿਖੁ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਲਗਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਬੈਸੰਤਰਿ ਤਾਇਓ ਮਲੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਟਿਤ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿਜਪਨੁ ਜਪਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਜਗਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਪਾਰੀ ॥ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ ਪਾਪੀ ਹਾਂ, ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪੱਥਰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇਹਨ। ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ (ਪੱਥਰ-ਦਿਲਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਸੰਤ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ (ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭੀਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, (ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੋਨਾ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਤਪਾਇਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮੈਲ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੰਬੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾਜ਼ਹਰ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੰਗਾਲ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਸੋਧਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤਾਂਹੀਏਂ) ਮੈਂ (ਭੀ) ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਐਸੀ ਦਵਾਈ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਰ ਕਰਨੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਖੁੰਝਦੀ। ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ (ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਮੁਕਾ ਸਕੀਦੀ ਹੈ।੩।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ! ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ! ਹੇ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ! ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ! ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰਕਰ, ਤੇ, (ਇਸ ਵਿਕਾਰ-ਭਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖ ਲੈ।੪।੧।DHANAASAREE, FOURTH MEHL, FIRST HOUSE, CHAU-PADAS:ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU:Those Saints and devotees who serve the Lord have all their sins washed away. Have Mercy on me, O Lord and Master, and keep me in the Sangat, the Congregation that You love. || 1 || I cannot even speak the Praises of the Lord, the Gardener of the world. We are sinners, sinking like stones in water; grant Your Grace, and carry us stones across. || Pause || The rust of poison and corruption from countless incarnations sticks to us; joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, it is cleaned away. It is just like gold, which is heated in the fire, to remove the impurities from it. || 2 || I chant the chant of the Name of the Lord, day and night; I chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, and enshrine it within my heart. The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, is the most perfect medicine in this world; chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I have conquered my ego. || 3 || The Lord, Har, Har, is unapproachable, of unfathomable wisdom, unlimited, all-powerful and infinite. Show Mercy to Your humble servant, O Life of the world, and save the honor of servant Nanak. || 4 || 1 ||

ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਾਖੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਿੰਙੀ ਬਾਜੈ ਲੋਕੁ ਸੁਣੇ ॥ ਪਤੁ ਝੋਲੀ ਮੰਗਣ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ ਭੀਖਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੜੇ ॥੧॥ ਬਾਬਾ ਗੋਰਖੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥ ਗੋਰਖੁ ਸੋ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੋਇ ਉਠਾਲੀ ਕਰਤੇ ਬਾਰ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ਪਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਪਵਣਿ ਬੰਧਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਚੰਦੁ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੀਏ ॥ ਮਰਣ ਜੀਵਣ ਕਉ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਨੀ ਏਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਵਿਸਰੇ ॥੨॥ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਅਰੁ ਜੋਗੀ ਜੰਗਮ ਪੀਰ ਪੁਰਸ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ॥ ਜੇ ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਾ ਤ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਆਖਾ ਤਾ ਮਨੁ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੇ ॥੩॥ ਕਾਗਦੁ ਲੂਣੁ ਰਹੈ ਘ੍ਰਿਤ ਸੰਗੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਕਮਲੁ ਰਹੈ ॥ ਐਸੇ ਭਗਤ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਜਮੁ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੈ ॥੪॥੪॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਜੋਗੀ! ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਗੋਰਖ ਦਾ ਚੇਲਾ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਮੇਰਾ) ਗੋਰਖ (ਸਦਾ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ) ਜਾਗਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਮੇਰਾ) ਗੋਰਖ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਚਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।(ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ) ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਸਦਾਅ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜਨੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਦਾਅ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਖਿਆਤ ਵੇਖਣਾ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਮੇਰੀ ਸਿੰਙੀ ਵੱਜ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। (ਉਸ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਭਿੱਛਿਆ) ਮੰਗਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਯੋਗ ਪਾਤ੍ਰ ਬਣਾਣਾ ਮੈਂ (ਮੋਢੇ ਉਤੇ) ਝੋਲੀ ਪਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ-ਭਿੱਛਿਆ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ।੧।(ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ) ਪਾਣੀ ਪਉਣ (ਆਦਿਕ ਤੱਤਾਂ) ਵਿਚ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਸੂਰਜ ਤੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਮੁਖੀ ਦੀਵੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ, ਵੱਸਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਧਰਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਇਤਨੇ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।੨।ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੰਗਮ ਜੋਗੀ ਪੀਰ ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੁੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੋਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਜੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਾਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ (ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ-ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਇਹੀ ਹੈ) ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ।੩।ਜਿਵੇਂ ਲੂਣ ਘਿਉ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਗਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਾਗ਼ਜ਼ ਘਿਉ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਕੁਮਲਾਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਭਗਤ ਜਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।੪।੪।RAAMKALEE, FIRST MEHL:Awareness of the Shabad and the Teachings is my horn; the people hear the sound of its vibrations. Honor is my begging-bowl, and the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the charity I receive. || 1 || O Baba, Gorakh is the Lord of the Universe; He is always awake and aware. He alone is Gorakh, who sustains the earth; He created it in an instant. || 1 || Pause || Binding together water and air, He infused the breath of life into the body, and made the lamps of the sun and the moon. To die and to live, He gave us the earth, but we have forgotten these blessings. || 2 || There are so many Siddhas, seekers, Yogis, wandering pilgrims, spiritual teachers and good people. If I meet them, I chant the Lord's Praises, and then, my mind serves Him. || 3 || Paper and salt, protected by ghee, remain untouched by water, as the lotus remains unaffected in water. Those who meet with such devotees, O servant Nanak — what can death do to them? || 4 || 4 ||

ਗੋਂਡ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਧੂਪ ਦੀਪ ਸੇਵਾ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥ ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਬੰਦਨ ਕਰਤਾਰ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਗਹੀ ਸਭ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਵਡ ਭਾਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗਾਈਐ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ॥ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਜਿੰਦੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਮਤ ਭਏ ਆਨੰਦ ॥ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਬਖਸੰਦ ॥ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਏ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖ ਮੇਟਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੨॥ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਇਹੁ ਤਤੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ ਸਾਗਰ ਤਰਿ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਰਣ ॥ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣ ॥੩॥ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਅਪਨੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਭਾਗੇ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ॥ ਜੂਐ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਹਾਰਿ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਕੀਆ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੧੪॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਾਡਾ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕਰਮ ਕਾਂਡੀ ਲੋਕ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੀਵੇ ਬਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਪਏ, ਉਹ (ਧੂਪ ਦੀਪ ਆਦਿਕ ਵਾਲੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਣਾ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਸਤੇ 'ਧੂਪ ਦੀਪ' ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮਰਨ ਤਕ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਮਿਟਾ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੰਦ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਸਲ ਗਿਆਨ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ।੩।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਪੰਜੇ ਡਰਾਉਣੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਜੂਏ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਵਾਂਦਾ।੪।੧੨।੧੪।Meaning: O brother! The God to whom this body is given to us, it is life and wealth, should be praised for eight hours (at all times). 1. Stay. (O brother! The people of Karma Kandi worship the gods and goddesses, burn incense and light lamps before them, but) the person on whom the Guru is blessed with great fortune, that person (with incense lamp etc.) Takes the shelter of God, always resting his head at God's feet, worshiping God is the action of 'Dhup Deep' for that person. 1.Hey brother! God joins His servants in His devotion by His grace, removes all their sufferings from birth to death and merges them in His feet. Joy remains within those who sing the praises of the All-Blessing God. 2. Hey brother! One should remain in the company of the Guru and chant the name of God, this is the religious act and this is the real knowledge. Hey brother! Make the feet of God, the knower of everyone's heart and the creator of the world, a ship and cross this world-sea. 3.Hey brother! Those whom the Lord protects by His mercy, the (Kamadika) claws of fearsome foes flee beyond them. O Nanak! Whatever man God has favored, that man never loses his life in gambling (of vices). 4.12.14.

ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਜਤਨ ਕਰੈ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਡਹਕਾਵੈ ਓਹੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ ਪਾਪ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਮੂਕਰਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਭੇਖ ਕਰੈ ਨਿਰਬਾਨੈ ॥੧॥ ਜਾਨਤ ਦੂਰਿ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨੇਰਿ ॥ ਉਤ ਤਾਕੈ ਉਤ ਤੇ ਉਤ ਪੇਖੈ ਆਵੈ ਲੋਭੀ ਫੇਰਿ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਤੁਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨ ਭਰਮਾ ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਤੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥੫॥੩੬॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ (ਲਾਲਚੀ ਪਖੰਡੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ (ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ) ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉੱਧਰ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ) ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਰਕਤਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਫਿਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਮੁੱਕਰ ਭੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਇਹ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਤੋਂ) ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-(ਪਹਿਰਾਵਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਈਦਾ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਹੈ ਭਗਤ ਹੈ।੨।੫।੩੬।DHANAASAREE, FIFTH MEHL:People try to deceive others, but the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows everything. They commit sins, and then deny them, while they pretend to be in Nirvaanaa. || 1 || They believe that You are far away, but You, O God, are near at hand. Looking around, this way and that, the greedy people come and go. || Pause || As long as the doubts of the mind are not removed, liberation is not found. ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਮਾਵਣਾ ਜਿ ਕਰਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਲਿਖਿਆਸੁ ॥ ਮੋਹ ਠਗਉਲੀ ਪਾਈਅਨੁ ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥ (ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ (ਸੰਸਕਾਰ-ਰੂਪ ਲੇਖ) ਲਿਖਿਆ (ਭਾਵ, ਉੱਕਰਿਆ) ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਜ਼ਰੂਰ) ਕਮਾਉਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ; (ਉਸ ਲੇਖ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ) ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਠਗਬੂਟੀ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹਰੀ ਵਿੱਸਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮਤੁ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਜੀਵਦਾ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਮੁਇਆਸੁ ॥ ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਸੇ ਬਹਣਿ ਨ ਮਿਲਨੀ ਪਾਸਿ ॥ (ਉਸ) ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਨਾ ਸਮਝੋ (ਜੋ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਇਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ; ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਬਹਿਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਬਹੁ ਅਤਿ ਘਣਾ ਪੁਤੁ ਕਲਤੁ ਨ ਸਾਥਿ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਸਿ ॥ ਲੋਕਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਮੁਹੁ ਕਾਲਾ ਹੋਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਉਭੇ ਸਾਸ ॥ ਮਨਮੁਖਾ ਨੋ ਕੋ ਨ ਵਿਸਹੀ ਚੁਕਿ ਗਇਆ ਵੇਸਾਸੁ ॥ ਉਹ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਏ ਪਏ ਸਨ, ਉਹ) ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਏਗਾ; ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਾਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ (ਭਾਵ, ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ) ਤੇ ਹਾਹੁਕੇ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ; ਮਨਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਸਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਨੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਅਗਲਾ ਜਿਨਾ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥੧॥ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੧। ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਸੇ ਸੈਣ ਸੇ ਸਜਣਾ ਜਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋਏ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਆਪਾ ਨਿਵਾਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਭਾਵਿਕ ਹੀ) ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਭਲੇ ਲੋਕ ਹਨ ਤੇ (ਸਾਡੇ) ਸਾਥੀ ਹਨ; ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਲਗੇ ਸਜਣ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਹਿ ਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਵੇਕਾਰ ॥ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖੀਦਾ ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮਨਮੁਖ ਆਪ ਸੁਆਰਥੀ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਮਾਵਣਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਤਲਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ (ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਵਾਰ ਸਕਦੇ; (ਪਰ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਕੀਹ ਦੋਸ਼?) (ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਕਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ (ਸੰਸਕਾਰ-ਰੂਪ ਲੇਖ) ਕਮਾਉਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਮਿਟਾਉਣ-ਜੋਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ।੧। ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਆਪਿ ਖੇਲੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਆਪਿ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਵਧਾਇਆ ॥ ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਖੇਡ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ; ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਵਧਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਵਿਚਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗੀਐ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇਆ ॥ ਜਿਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ॥ (ਇਸ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਜੇ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ (ਲੱਗਿਆਂ) (ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ) ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਜੰਮਣਾ ਮਰਨਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਆਪ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਇਹ) ਸਮਝ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਘੁਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ (ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਵਾਰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੩। SHALOK, THIRD MEHL: He acts according to pre-ordained destiny, written by the Creator Himself. Emotional attachment has drugged him, and he has forgotten the Lord, the treasure of virtue. Don't think that he is alive in the world — he is dead, through the love of duality. Those who do not meditate on the Lord, as Gurmukh, are not permitted to sit near the Lord. They suffer the most horrible pain and suffering, and neither their sons nor their wives go along with them. Their faces are blackened among men, and they sigh in deep regret. No one places any reliance in the self-willed manmukhs; trust in them is lost. O Nanak, the Gurmukhs live in absolute peace; the Naam, the Name of the Lord, abides within them. || 1 || THIRD MEHL: They alone are relatives, and they alone are friends, who, as Gurmukh, join together in love. Night and day, they act according to the True Guru's Will; they remain absorbed in the True Name. Those who are attached to the love of duality are not called friends; they practice egotism and corruption. The self-willed manmukhs are selfish; they cannot resolve anyone's affairs. O Nanak, they act according to their pre-ordained destiny; no one can erase it. || 2 || PAUREE: You Yourself created the world, and You Yourself arranged the play of it. You Yourself created the three qualities, and fostered emotional attachment to Maya. He is called to account for his deeds done in egotism; he continues coming and going in reincarnation. The Guru instructs those whom the Lord Himself blesses with Grace. I am a sacrifice to my Guru; forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to Him. || 3||

O Nanak, the those devotees, who practice Truth, and only Truth, look beauteous in the Court of the True Lord. || 1 || The Lord is the social class and honor of His devotees; the Lord's devotees merge in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. They worship the Lord in devotion, and eradicate self-conceit from within themselves; they understand merits and demerits. They understand merits and demerits, and chant the Lord's Name; devotional worship is sweet to them. Night and day, they perform devotional worship, day and night, and in the home of the self, they remain detached. Imbued with devotion, their minds remain forever immaculate and pure; they see their Dear Lord always with them. O Nanak, those devotees are True in the Court of the Lord; night and day, they dwell upon the Naam. || 2 || The self-willed manmukhs practice devotional rituals without the True Guru, but without the True Guru, there is no devotion. They are afflicted with the diseases of egotism and Maya, and they suffer the pains of death and rebirth. The world suffers the pains of death and rebirth, and through the love of duality, it is ruined; without the Guru, the essence of reality is not known. Without devotional worship, everyone in the world is deluded and confused, and in the end, they depart with regrets. Among millions, there is scarcely one who realizes the Name of the True Lord. O Nanak, through the Naam, greatness is obtained; in the love of duality, all honor is lost. || 3 || In the home of the devotees, is the joy of true marriage; they chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord forever. He Himself blesses them with the treasure of devotion; conquering the thorny pain of death, they merge in the Lord. Conquering the thorny pain of death, they merge in the Lord; they are pleasing to the Lord's Mind, and they obtain the true treasure of the Naam. This treasure is inexhaustible; it will never be exhausted. The Lord automatically blesses them with it. The humble servants of the Lord are exalted and elevated, forever on high; they are adorned with the Word of the Guru's Shabad. O Nanak, He Himself forgives them, and merges them with Himself; throughout the ages, they are glorified. || 4 || 1 || 2 ||
