Jim Kirlin's words, not mine—but he's right.I sat down with Jim to talk about what Taylor is bringing to the table this year, and it comes down to two distinct directions: the Next Generation Grand Auditorium series and the Gold Label Collection. Modern innovation on one side, vintage inspiration on the other.The Next Gen guitars build on Taylor's flagship Grand Auditorium—that versatile middle-size body that works for everything from fingerpicking to strumming. But they've added three significant upgrades.First is the Action Control Neck. It's a patented design with a long tenon joint that enhances resonance and tonal transfer between neck and body. More importantly, it lets players adjust string height in seconds through the sound hole. Climate changes, different venues, personal preference—you can dial it in on the fly. That's the kind of player-centric thinking that removes obstacles from the playing experience.Second is Scalloped V-Class Bracing. Andy Powers introduced V-Class back in 2018, and this evolution adds warmth and low end while maintaining that clear, balanced Taylor articulation. You get more of everything without losing what makes a Taylor sound like a Taylor.Third is the new Claria Pickup system. It's discreet—sound hole mounted with volume, mid contour, and tone controls. The goal was simplicity. Plug in, play, express yourself. No fussing with complicated setups depending on the venue. Just reliable amplified sound wherever you are.Then there's the Gold Label Collection—a completely different approach.These are non-cutaway guitars with traditional styling inspired by instruments from the 1930s and 40s. Andy Powers designed them to broaden Taylor's tonal palette and reach players who've never been drawn to the brand before.The new square shoulder dreadnought caught my attention. Deeper body dimensions than a traditional Taylor dread, with serious lung capacity inside. You strum those chords and feel the low end push back. Fan V-Class Bracing gives it projection and response that traditional dreadnought fans will appreciate.There's also round shoulder dreadnoughts and super auditoriums—the latter based on the Grand Auditorium but with all the curves pushed out for more air mass. Many feature torrified tops that give them an aged, played-in character right out of the case.The headstock shape is different. The logo styling is older. It's Taylor paying respect to tradition while still building with modern precision.What struck me most was how intentional both directions are. Taylor isn't abandoning their modern sound—they're expanding what's possible. Next Gen for players who want cutting-edge innovation. Snowboards and Guitars: Circle Strings x Burton at NAMM 2026Some collaborations make you stop and ask how nobody thought of this before.At NAMM Media Day 2026, Sean Martin caught up with Adam Buchwald and William Hylton from Circle Strings, a Vermont-based guitar company, to talk about their partnership with Burton. The concept is deceptively simple: matching snowboards and custom guitars built from the same materials.But the execution is anything but simple.Buchwald owns a wood company in Vermont. He had an entire tree of figured mahogany set aside, waiting for the right project. When Burton agreed to collaborate, he knew exactly what to do with it. The wood became the centerpiece—the visual and sonic foundation of everything that followed.Then William Hylton got to work.Hylton, Circle Strings' designer and CNC specialist, is a backcountry snowboarder. He chose Burton's Alakazam powder board shape as his starting point, drawn to its distinctive tail curve. That curve, he realized, was already guitar-esque. So he wove it through the entire instrument—the fingerboard extension, the pickguard, the bridge tips. The snowboard's DNA lives in every contour.But here's where it gets interesting.The core of a Burton snowboard is wood. Lightweight, durable, designed for performance. Hylton took that same core material and built a guitar body from it. The result feels right in your hands—balanced, resonant, purposeful. It's not a gimmick. It's a genuine instrument built from materials engineered to perform.The acoustic model features a sound hole that mirrors the snowboard's design. Inlays are crafted from Burton's core material, tying everything together visually and conceptually. Both guitars showcase snowflake inlays inspired by Snowflake Bentley, the Vermont photographer who first captured snowflakes in their true crystalline form over a century ago.It's a detail that says everything about how Circle Strings approaches their work. History. Craft. Place.Vermont runs through this collaboration. Buchwald and Hylton are snowboarders. They source their wood locally. They build instruments that reflect where they come from. Burton, also rooted in Vermont's snow culture, was a natural partner.The Burton team, according to Hylton, is thrilled. Many of them are musicians. Some are fans of the artists Circle Strings builds for. The connection was already there—this project just made it tangible.What strikes me about this collaboration is the underlying philosophy. Snowboards and guitars aren't that different when you strip them down. Both are built from wood. Both demand precision. Both exist to help someone express themselves—whether carving powder or carving a melody.Circle Strings and Burton understand this. They didn't force a partnership. They found the common thread and followed it.The result is a set of instruments that belong in a museum and on a stage. Vintage Dreams, Modern Hands: A Conversation with PRS Guitars at NAMM 2026They were literally closing down the show floor when I grabbed Alex Chadwick from PRS Guitars for a conversation I wasn't willing to miss.We'd been talking off-mic about something that kept nagging at me—this tension between technology and creativity that runs through everything in the music world right now. So I hit record, security guards circling, and asked him straight: Is technology helping musicians become better artists, or do you still need to learn the hard way?His answer was refreshingly honest. Technology isn't inherently good or bad. It's a tool. When it helps people be more expressive, more creative—that's the win. When it gets in the way of that expression? That's when we have a problem.It's the kind of nuance that gets lost in the usual gear coverage.PRS brought some beautiful new instruments to NAMM this year. The John Mayer Wild Blue Silver Sky stopped people in their tracks—a sharp turquoise finish with the first matching headstock ever produced from their Maryland factory on a Silver Sky. Limited to a thousand pieces worldwide. For Mayer fans and Silver Sky devotees alike, this one feels special.Then there's the Ed Sheeran Semi-Hollow Piezo Baritone. A 27.7-inch scale instrument tuned a fifth below standard, with discrete outputs for both magnetic and piezo elements. But here's what got me: each guitar ships with a signed print of Sheeran's original artwork that appears on the body. He's a visual artist too. The instrument becomes a canvas for multiple creative expressions at once.But the conversation that really stuck with me was about vintage guitars and why we romanticize them so much.Those 1950s and 60s instruments—the ones on posters, in documentaries, making the music that shaped entire generations—they've become holy relics. And the ones that actually sound magical? They cost as much as a house now. So how does anyone access that?Chadwick explained something about PRS's philosophy that I found genuinely compelling. They don't go back to the fifties. They go back to 1985. That gives them freedom—they can draw inspiration from those holy grail instruments without being trapped by their quirks, their inconsistent tolerances, their aged components. They can take what made those guitars legendary and build it into something repeatable, accessible, and comfortable.The goal, he said, is to create instruments that get out of the way. Guitars that let the person be more expressive instead of fighting against limitations.That phrase has been echoing in my head since I left Anaheim. Instruments that get out of the way.Because that's really what this is about, isn't it? All the gear, all the technology, all the innovation—it only matters if it helps someone find their voice. Make their own music. Tell their own story.PRS seems to understand that. True is the Name of the True Lord. Glorious are the Praises of the Lord of the Universe. Infinite is the spiritual wisdom imparted by the Guru. The Creator Lord who created, shall also destroy. The call of death is sent out by the Lord's Command; no one can challenge it. He Himself creates, and watches; His written command is above each and every head. He Himself imparts understanding and awareness. O Nanak, the Lord Master is inaccessible and unfathomable; I live by His True Name. || 1 || No one can compare to You, Lord; all come and go. By Your Command, the account is settled, and doubt is dispelled. The Guru dispels doubt, and makes us speak the Unspoken Speech; the true ones are absorbed into Truth. He Himself creates, and He Himself destroys; I accept the Command of the Commander Lord. True greatness comes from the Guru; You alone are the mind's companion in the end. O Nanak, there is no other than the Lord and Master; greatness comes from Your Name. || 2 || You are the True Creator Lord, the unknowable Maker. There is only the One Lord and Master, but there are two paths, by which conflict increases. All follow these two paths, by the Hukam of the Lord's Command; the world is born, only to die. Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mortal has no friend at all; he carries loads of sin on his head. By the Hukam of the Lord's Command, he comes, but he does not understand this Hukam; the Lord's Hukam is the Embellisher. O Nanak, through the Shabad, the Word of the Lord and Master, the True Creator Lord is realized. || 3 || Your devotees look beautiful in Your Court, embellished with the Shabad. They chant the Ambrosial Word of His Bani, savoring it with their tongues. Savoring it with their tongues, they thirst for the Naam; they are a sacrifice to the Word of the Guru's Shabad. Touching the philosopher's stone, they become the philosopher's stone, which transforms lead into gold; O Lord, they become pleasing to your mind. They attain the immortal status and eradicate their self-conceit; how rare is that person, who contemplates spiritual wisdom. O Nanak, the devotees look beautiful in the Court of the True Lord; they are dealers in the Truth. || 4 || I am hungry and thirsty for wealth; how will I be able to go to the Lord's Court? I shall go and ask the True Guru, and meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. I meditate on the True Name, chant the True Name, and as Gurmukh, I realize the True Name. Night and day, I chant the Name of the merciful, immaculate Lord, the Master of the poor.

All other devices did not work, so I meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. || 1 || For this reason, I sought the Protection and Support of my Lord, the Cherisher of the Universe. I sought the Sanctuary of the Perfect Transcendent Lord, and all my entanglements were dissolved. || Pause || Paradise, the earth, the nether regions of the underworld, and the globe of the world ó all are engrossed in Maya. To save your soul, and liberate all your ancestors, meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. || 2 || O Nanak, singing the Naam, the Name of the Immaculate Lord, all treasures are obtained. Only that rare person, whom the Lord and Master blesses with His Grace, comes to know this. || 3 || 3 || 21 ||ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਕਿ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ) ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜੁਗਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਇੱਕ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਭੀ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ। (ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ) ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਜੰਜਾਲ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦੇਵ ਲੋਕ, ਮਾਤ-ਲੋਕ, ਪਾਤਾਲ-ਸਾਰੀ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ ਫਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਬਚਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ।੨।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ (ਇਹ ਭੇਤ) ਕਿਸੇ (ਉਸ) ਵਿਰਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।੩।੨੧।

 ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥ ਜਿਨਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪਨੈ ਵਰ ਦੀਨੇ ॥ ਸਗਲ ਜੀਅ ਵਸਿ ਕੀਨੇ ॥ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ ਤਾ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੫॥੬੯॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਰਾਖਾ) ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇ ਕੇ) ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਮੇਰੀ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸਭ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਜਦੋਂ ਭੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਏ।੨।੫।੬੯।SORAT'H, FIFTH MEHL:I am a sacrifice to my Guru. He has totally preserved my honor. I have obtained the fruits of my mind's desires. I meditate forever on my God. || 1 || O Saints, without Him, there is no other at all. ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਨੋ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਚਰੁ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹੈ ਸਾਸਾ ॥ ਇਕੁ ਪਲੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਵਿਸਰਹਿ ਤੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਾਣਉ ਬਰਸ ਪਚਾਸਾ ॥ ਹਮ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਗਧ ਸਦਾ ਸੇ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤੁਮ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਹੁ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਹਮ ਸਬਦਿ ਮੁਏ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਲੇ ਭਾਈ ਸਬਦੇ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ ਸਬਦੇ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਹਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਈ ॥ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰ ਦਾਤਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੨॥ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸੇ ਅੰਨੇ ਬੋਲੇ ਸੇ ਕਿਤੁ ਆਏ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰਾ ॥ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਕੇ ਕੀੜੇ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਗੁਬਾਰਾ ॥੩॥ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਲਾਏ ਭਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਜੋ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੁ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਭਾਈ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਭਾਈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ॥੪॥੪॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਵਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਵਾਂ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ) ਜਿਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਜਿੰਦ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਪਲ-ਭਰ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ-ਭਰ ਵਿੱਸਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਪੰਜਾਹ ਸਾਲ ਬੀਤ ਗਏ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅਸੀ ਸਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਅੰਞਾਣ ਤੁਰੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਸਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅਸੀ (ਜੀਵ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਮਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਮਾਰ ਕੇ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਰੀਰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ (ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ) ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਉਹ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਲੋਂ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਬੋਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਖੱਟਦੇ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗਵਾ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਗੰਦ ਦੇ ਕੀੜੇ ਗੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਦੇ) ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ (ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ) ।੩।ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਸਹੀ) ਰਸਤੇ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ (ਜੋ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਹ ਦੱਸ ਸਕੇ) । ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕਰਤਾਰ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ ਲੇਖ) ਲਿਖ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ (ਹੋਰ) ਮਿਟਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਣ ਜੋਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।੪।੪।SORAT'H, THIRD MEHL:Dear Beloved Lord, I praise You continually, as long as there is the breath within my body. If I were to forget You, for a moment, even for an instant, O Lord Master, it would be like fifty years for me. I was always such a fool and an idiot, O Siblings of Destiny, but now, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, my mind is enlightened. || 1 || Dear Lord, You Yourself bestow understanding. Dear Lord, I am forever a sacrifice to You; I am dedicated and devoted to Your Name. || Pause || I have died in the Word of the Shabad, and through the Shabad, I am dead while yet alive, O Siblings of Destiny; through the Shabad, I have been liberated. Through the Shabad, my mind and body have been purified, and the Lord has come to dwell within my mind. The Guru is the Giver of the Shabad; my mind is imbued with it, and I remain absorbed in the Lord. || 2 || Those who do not know the Shabad are blind and deaf; why did they even bother to come into the world? They do not obtain the subtle essence of the Lord's elixir; they waste away their lives, and are reincarnated over and over again. The blind, idiotic, self-willed manmukhs are like maggots in manure, and in manure they rot away. || 3 || The Lord Himself creates us, watches over us, and places us on the Path, O Siblings of Destiny; there is no one other than Him. No one can erase that which is pre-ordained, O Siblings of Destiny; whatever the Creator wills, comes to pass. O Nanak, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, abides deep within the mind; O Siblings of Destiny, there is no other at all. || 4 || 4 ||

Deseaba tanto ver cosas espectaculares de parte de Dios que estaba perdiéndome las que Él tenía planeadas para mí. Cuando lo entendí, dejé de buscar cosas grandes y espectaculares, y sólo me limité a esperar que Dios cumpliera Su Palabra. Recuerdo una noche en la que fui a una campaña con el tobillo muy lastimado. El dolor era tan intenso que recorría desde mi pie hasta llegar a mis hombros. Pero fui con la esperanza de que Dios me sanara. Durante la alabanza ignoré ese dolor; cantaba y a alababa con los demás. Cuando empezó la predicación, tomé mi Biblia y me sumergí en la Palabra. Y como era de esperar, en algún momento del servicio recibí mi sanidad. No sé a qué hora sucedió. No sentí nada especial, ni vi destellos de luz alguna. Ni siquiera me di cuenta de que había sido sano, sino hasta después del servicio. Iba llegando a la puerta cuando pensé: ¡Gloria a Dios! Mi pie está bien. No dejes que tus propias ideas, acerca de cómo obrará el Señor, te quiten tu sanidad, tu liberación o tu prosperidad. Sólo confía en Dios y deja que Él haga las cosas como Él sabe hacerlas. ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੪ ॥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ ਨਾਮੋ ਚਿਤਵੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੜੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਗਈ ਬਿਲਾਇ ॥ਅਰਥ: ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਠੰਢ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੋਂ ਤਨੋਂ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਚਿਤਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ; ਨਾਮ (ਰੂਪ) ਸੁੰਦਰ ਵਸਤ ਲੱਭ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਤਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਸਭ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਤਿਆ ਨਾਮੋ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ਅਰਥ: ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਤਾਂ ਨਾਮ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੁੰਗਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ (ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਰੂਪ) ਪੱਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਕਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਮਃ ੪ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਜਿ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਆ ਘਰੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਗਇਆ ॥ ਓਸੁ ਪਿਛੈ ਵਜੈ ਫਕੜੀ ਮੁਹੁ ਕਾਲਾ ਆਗੈ ਭਇਆ ॥ਅਰਥ: ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਵਲੋਂ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਭਰਮ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਆਪਣੇ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਹਿੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੋਕ ਫੱਕੜੀ ਵਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਅੱਗੇ (ਜਿਥੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮੁਕਾਲਖ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ।ਓਸੁ ਅਰਲੁ ਬਰਲੁ ਮੁਹਹੁ ਨਿਕਲੈ ਨਿਤ ਝਗੂ ਸੁਟਦਾ ਮੁਆ ॥ ਕਿਆ ਹੋਵੈ ਕਿਸੈ ਹੀ ਦੈ ਕੀਤੈ ਜਾਂ ਧੁਰਿ ਕਿਰਤੁ ਓਸ ਦਾ ਏਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਪਇਆ ॥ਅਰਥ: ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਨਿਰਾ ਬਕਵਾਸ ਹੀ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਮੱਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਸਕਦਾ) , ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ (ਕੀਤੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੁਣ ਭੀ) ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ (ਭਾਵ, ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੀ ਮੰਦੀ) ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ।ਜਿਥੈ ਓਹੁ ਜਾਇ ਤਿਥੈ ਓਹੁ ਝੂਠਾ ਕੂੜੁ ਬੋਲੇ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਭਾਈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕੀ ਜੈਸਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਰੈ ਤੈਸਾ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ ਏਹੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਅਗੋ ਦੇ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 653}ਅਰਥ: ਉਹ (ਮਨਮੁਖ) ਜਿਥੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਝੂਠਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ। ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋਂ! ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵੇਖੋ, ਕਿ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸੱਚੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸੱਚੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ (ਤਾਂ ਜੁ ਭਲਾ ਬੀਜ ਬੀਜ ਕੇ ਭਲੇ ਫਲ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ) ।੨।ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਬਧਾ ਥੇਹੁ ਰਖਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਤੇ ॥ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਆਸ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਮਨ ਰਤੇ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਿ ਬੇਅੰਤਿ ਅਵਗੁਣ ਸਭਿ ਹਤੇ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਅਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਅਪਣੇ ਕਰਿ ਲਿਤੇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਇਤੇ ॥੨੭॥ਅਰਥ: ਸੱਚੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਸਤਸੰਗ-ਰੂਪ) ਪਿੰਡ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਪਿੰਡ ਲਈ ਸਤਸੰਗੀ) ਰਾਖੇ ਭੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ) ; ਦਿਆਲ ਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ; ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਇਤਨੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ।੨੭।SHALOK, FOURTH MEHL:Within the Gurmukh is peace and tranquility; his mind and body are absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. Muchas veces esperamos que Dios se mueva según nuestras ideas y no según su voluntad. Naamán esperaba un milagro impresionante, pero Dios le pidió algo simple y humillante.
